In 1866, the Fremantle City Council decided that the extension of High Street should proceed through Queens Square, rather than around it. By 1886 Parry Street had also been extended through the square. In February 1896 the council decided to erect fencing at Queens Square, in order to establish a tree nursery there.

Lions Nature Education Centre Lion's Nature Education Centre is a facility situated on of land to the east of Hiram's Highway near Sai Kung Town, Hong Kong used for the purposes of public education, recreation, nature conservation and scientific studies. The centre includes many informative and attractive field and outdoor display areas, such as an arboretum, a rocks and mineral garden, a medicinal plants garden, a demonstration tree nursery, an insectarium and a shell house.

ASGN and its partners have assisted the local community with bore holes, cereal banks, grain mills, seeds and fertilizer to encourage them to protect the giraffes, which can be destructive to crops. However, the population of giraffes is threatened by loss of the tiger bush habitat, which is gradually being cleared for agriculture. The African Wildlife Foundation is helping with reforestation. In August 2010, a tree nursery in Kouré produced about 3,500 seedlings.

Immediately concerned with these deforestation problems, in 1922 he set up a tree nursery and founded an organisation with Kenya's Kikuyu people to carry out managed reforestation in the region, utilising native species. He started Arborsmith Studios, his tree nursery and art studio. He bends living trees using the arborsculpture process developed by himself. He also uses the horticultural and arboricultural techniques of ring barking, approach grafting, pruning, and framing, in various combinations, to craft functional items and artworks.

The community flourished seeing the selection of a mayor, the establishment of schools, industrialization and the renewal of trade. The Johann Diedrich Moeller Company optics company (today Möller-Wedel International) was formed in 1864 and developed a specialization in ophthalmology and surgical microscopes. Trade in beer and Branntwein (distillates of wine) also flourished, and a tree nursery was established. In 1875, the town council requested the status of city for Wedel, which had a population of 1,669.

A consortium of NGOs including Lom Orng and Ockenden is doing a post-flood livelihood and infrastructure regeneration project, in the country's northwest, which includes permaculture principles, and the establishment of a permaculture demonstration farm in Battambang Province which serves as a community farm and education site and includes a native tree nursery and biogas system providing clean cooking fuel and lighting. From 1988 to 1997 Piet de Jong was in charge of the practical research on tree growing at the 'Proefstation voor de Boomkwekerij' (Trial station for tree nursery) in Boskoop.De Jong showed up in a movie in a Dutch television program on 17 April 1991 After his retirement De Jong is still actively involved with the Von Gimborn Arboretum.See for instance this (Dutch) article in nrc.

Indian Head is a town in southeast Saskatchewan, Canada, east of Regina on the Trans-Canada Highway. It "had its beginnings in 1882 as the first settlers, mainly of Scottish origin, pushed into the area in advance of the railroad, most traveling by ox-cart from Brandon." "Indian" refers to Aboriginal Canadians. The town is known for its federally operated experimental farm and tree nursery, which has produced and distributed seedlings for shelter belts since 1901.

Hackney City Farm Hackney City Farm is a city farm and independent alternative school in Haggerston in the London Borough of Hackney. It is situated at the junction of Hackney Road and Goldsmith's Row. The farm was established in 1984 as a community and educational resource and to give borough residents, particularly young people, experience of animals. The facilities at Hackney City Farm include a farmyard, area for grazing, garden and a tree nursery with butterfly house.

Forest rangers regularly conduct outdoor classes for schools and other groups from spring to fall. The forest also has self-guided interpretive trails, which teach visitors about forestry through the use of trail-side exhibits, displays and audio boxes. In addition, the forest offers a small network of hiking trails, a picnic area with a shelter and a group campground. The state originally purchased the forest in 1938 to establish a tree nursery, which was subsequently constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Black River in the North Country, p.89, Prospect Books,1963 Nevertheless, Fernow had a long railroad spur built from Axton to Tupper Lake in order to deliver logs to the Brooklyn Cooperage Company facility. The company turned the hardwood logs into barrels and the cordwood into methanol and charcoal, through a process called destructive distillation. Historic charcoal kiln photo: To his credit, Fernow established the first tree nursery in New York State at Axton, the site of an old lumber settlement originally called Axe-town.

The centre's activities include running educational visits for schools and community groups, as well as events and volunteer days. The history of the Ecology Centre is that the grounds were until the late eighties known as the "Lodgelands", named after the old gardens of The Lodge in Carshalton. They were used as a tree nursery until the early eighties, when they became surplus to requirements. In 2008, the ATP's tree nursery micro-enterprise program, "Plant an Idea, Plant a Tree", was recognized as the national winner of the Energy Globe Award for Sustainability. Its nursery program was selected for the award from 853 environmental projects in 109 countries. Initiated as a pilot project in 2004, the program was designed to mitigate poverty-driven deforestation with support for tree nurseries owned by impoverished families in the Getik River Valley of northern Armenia. It began with 17 families operating tree nurseries in 2004, growing to 400 families by 2008.

In 2001, a local paper interviewed Police Captain Mickey Miller, former homicide detective Tommy Jacobs of the Nashville Police, and former FBI agent Richard Knudsen about the unsolved Trimble case. Each had a different theory about what had happened on the evening when Trimble disappeared. Captain Miller said that while Trimble was killed in the garage where she was found, that may not have been where she was sexually assaulted. Miller thought that Trimble might have been sexually assaulted at a tree nursery which became part of the investigation.

As they depend primarily on subsistence farming, the villagers frequently burn vegetation and fell trees to make way for food cultivation in the mountain's valleys. Kanjonde has no electricity, so the residents also depend on wood fuel for cooking. The Mount Moco Project is a charitable foundation working to gain protection status for Mount Moco and to educate the Kanjonde villagers about more sustainable practices. The Project began a native tree nursery in July 2010 at Kanjonde, and this nursery was expanded in 2012 with permission of the village's soba (chief), Amândio Cabo.

The Mennonites also run the largest car repair and carpentry shops on the island. Androsia, a hand-crafted batik factory founded at Fresh Creek in 1972, produces a vibrant, colourful fabric that has become part of the national dress and identity of the Bahamas. GreenLife Growers, a Bahamian native tree nursery at Young Sound, provides landscaping material to real estate developers and government projects throughout the Bahamas. Commercial fishing remains a mainstay of the island's economy: conch, lobster, snapper and grouper are all commercially harvested for sale locally and in Nassau's fish markets.

Hearts for Kenya, based in Louisville, Kentucky, exists for the purpose of combating poverty, hunger and disease in small, agrarian communities within the Nyanza province of Kenya. Its headquarters, the "Amani Daycare Center and Agrarian Institute" are located in the town of Oyugis. Ancillary projects, which are vital to the success of the agricultural project, are centered around building, nutrition, education,assistance to orphans and widows, health services, and a tree nursery. The intent of Hearts for Kenya is to enable the local citizens to carry on the projects autonomously.

At the turn of the twentieth century the land where the forest is now located, along with the majority of Minnesota, was logged and opened to homesteading, however the sandy soil make the area unsuitable for agriculture. Many homesteads were abandoned and returned to the county up until the end of the Great Depression, when in 1939 the state purchased land for the General Andrews State Forest Nursery, a tree nursery. Four years later the land the nursery and the surrounding land were incorporated as a state forest.

In 1958, he became the head of the CCEP in Guardia Lombardi, which he was until 1962, when he was elected a UNLA regional delegate for Campania. Stari Trg is the site of two known mass graves from the period immediately after the Second World War. Both are located north of the settlement, on the western outskirts of Slovenj Gradec, and contain the remains of Croatians killed between May 10 and 15, 1945 while traveling toward the Austrian border. The Gmajna Tree Nursery Mass Grave () is located in a meadow between a plantation of trees to the south and a ditch to the north, near an electric pole. It contains the remains of three victims.

The machines can be mounted on a tractor or loader for moving trees a short distance, or on the back of a truck Thursday, 23 March 2017 for relocating trees over the highway a long distance away. For tree nursery operations, tree spades are also sometimes mounted on excavators, though this is less common due to the weight capacity requirements of manipulating the machine along with an excavated tree. The first firebreak constructed in the San Gabriel Reserve was around Henninger Flats to protect the site. Lukens worked to make Henninger Flats a high elevation tree nursery that would produce seedlings for reforestation and watershed restoration efforts. Lukens and his assistants grew more than 60,000 experimental tree seedlings at the nursery. Most of the 1,000 trees that were planted in the San Gabriel and San Bernardino reserves for the Forest Service were grown at the nursery during 1903-1907. Locally, the nursery provided 17,000 seedlings for Los Angeles' Griffith Park,Los Angeles County Fire Department the second-largest city park in California.

The nursery stock was grown at Midhurst Forest Tree Nursery, and carefully handled through lifting on 3 lift dates, packing, and hot-planting into cultivated weed-free loam. After 7 years, overall survival was 97%, with no significant differences in survival among stock types. The 1.5+1.5 stock with a mean height of 234 cm was significantly taller by 18% to 25% than the other stock types. The 1.5+1.5 stock also had significantly greater dbh than the other stock types by 30-43%. The best stock type was 57 cm taller and 1 cm greater in dbh than the poorest.

The park was utilized by campers, and by tourists visiting the tree. A swinging bridge across the Back Fork of Elk River provided access to the tree and the park. In 2002, the Webster Sycamore was one of five trees nominated by the West Virginia Humanities Council to the National Register of Historic Trees, a registry of historic trees maintained by the American Forests Historic Tree Nursery. During the annual events Webster Wildwater Weekend in April and the Webster County Nature Weekend in May, hiking excursions were led to the Webster Sycamore, in addition to the nearby Three Falls of Back Fork.

His first marriage was in 1771 to Charlotte Amalie (von) H(a)usmann (1740–1777), a Danish naval officer's daughter, with whom he had his only child Henrietta Georgina Amalia in 1772, who died aged two months. In 1778, the year after Charlotte Amalie's death, he married Charlotte Elisabeth Rieck (nee von Hein, 1748–1789), daughter of an infantry major. Hirschfeld himself died in Kiel and was buried in what would later be known as the St.-Jürgen cemetery in that city. After his death his fruit-tree nursery was taken over by Johann Jacob Paul Moldenhawer.

People jogging at Viveros. The park has an extension of 38.9 hectares, located in the far west of the Coyoacán borough next to Ciudad Universitaria . From its initial creation by Miguel Angel de Quevedo, the area has operated primarily as a tree nursery, growing seedlings for reforestation projects. The nursery operation produces about one million seedlings per year, which are mostly planted in and around Mexico City. Most of the park’s area is planted with trees, and it is considered to be one of Mexico City’s “lungs.” Other areas are dedicated to seed beds, orchards and greenhouses.

Milicent Washburn Shinn was born in Vallejo's Mills (later known as the town of Niles, California and now a district of Fremont, California), on April 15, 1858, the daughter of James Shinn and Lucy Ellen Clark. Her father worked as a modest farmer, and her mother was the owner of a orchard-tree nursery. Shinn was one of seven children, however, four of her siblings passed away at a young age. Shinn's parents sent Milicent and her older brother Charles Howard Shinn to the University of California, Berkeley, which had only started admitting women the year prior in 1873.

Many parts of the Village are still undergoing development and heavy construction, mainly north of Madison Heights Blvd. The southwestern portion of the community remains undeveloped; it was recently sold to Arista Homes, Fieldgate Homes, Starlane Homes, and Paradise Homes for $100 million. When traveling north or south along Kennedy Road, one will notice a pathway to a house and barn, the Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery, and a few trees stranded in the middle of a massive wheat field. The developers have made preparations for a "tree nursery" to preserve these trees, including the "historic Bur Oak tree".

It was later used for boating and ice skating, and for fishing. A tree nursery was established in the park by the city municipality in 1894. It was led by the Czech gardener Vaclav Hejnic, who was the first professional gardener in Tivoli, and who arranged parts of the park in the 1920s. In the same time, the park was also renovated by the architect Jože Plečnik, who designed the Jakopič Promenade that runs through the park, creating a linear visual axis going from Tivoli Castle through Cankar Street and Čop Street to Prešeren Square, over the Triple Bridge, and ending at Ljubljana Castle.

The project includes instruction and activities that teach the need to respect the local environment and the importance of sanitation and clean water to the health of the community. In addition, REDEP maintains a tree nursery, which was started with funds provided by a grant from New England Biolabs Foundation. Currently the project is being funded by American Jewish World service (AJWS) The trees from the nursery are planted by school children along farm boundaries, on institutional and common land, along river and stream banks, around homes and on degraded wastelands. In 1854, a first and small square called the Place fodder (German: Kannonenplatz) existed. In 1859, the square was extended to the south and planted with trees and greenery, the entire project being financed by Major General Helmut Carl Christian von Weltzien.

The site of Kissena Park was originally part of a tree nursery operated by Samuel Parsons in the late 19th century, though parts of the park were also the site of a Long Island Rail Road line. The lake on Parsons's property was named "Kissena", which comes from the Chippewa language meaning "it is cold", "cold place", or "cool water", and the park was later named after the lake. After Parsons died in 1906, part of his former nursery was incorporated in the modern-day park. The name "Kissena Park" can also refer to a residential section of Flushing just north of the park.

Two different types of tree spades on different types of loader vehicles A tree spade is a specialized machine that mechanizes the transplanting of large plants whose hand-powered transplanting (using traditional spades, wagons, and other equipment) would be prohibitively laborious. These include large bushes and small or medium trees. By bringing mechanized power to what was formerly only a manual process, tree spades do for transplanting what tractors and combine harvesters do for agriculture, and what excavators and other heavy equipment do for construction. Today, tree spades are widely used in the tree nursery industry to increase production rates, and in the landscaping industry for tree removal and transplanting.

Mountain everlasting (on Rùm) Thrift on a beach (on Rùm) A tree nursery was established at Kinloch in 1960 in order to support a substantial programme of re-introducing twenty native species including silver birch, hawthorn, rowan and holly.Ball. The Riverwalk Shopping Center, which used to have a supermarket, now only houses a security company, a church and a swimming pool net supplier. For most residents the most convenient shopping centers are situated in Jukskei Park and Olivedale, otherwise they commute the 5 minutes drive to either of the two nearby large mall zones.

Voght had been inspired by the Leasowes estate of English poet William Shenstone. The area was planned as a rural or ornamented farm and a (model farm).

In 1975 she expanded Na Bolom's walled gardens to include El Vivero, a tree nursery, which today still supplies free trees for reforestation in Chiapas. While Casa Na Bolom was the dream of Frans Blom, the day-to-day responsibility of running it fell to Trudi. For forty years, she struggled financially and emotionally; spending too much time fundraising, writing articles, and managing employees, many of whom were young volunteers from around the world. In the late 1980s, encouraged by concerned Chiapas citizens who valued her work and who wanted to protect the future of Na Bolom, Trudi formed the Asociación Cultural Na Bolom A.C., whose Board of Directors manages Na Bolom today.

There have been studies of the area and the related environmental and economic issues involved; very few of the suggestions made by these surveys have been implemented, partially due to the unrest in Djibouti since the early 1990s. In May 2008, of forest near the village of Day were set aside for a tree nursery in an attempt to restore some of the spurfowl's damaged habitat. Surveys are under way to determine population sizes and current range, including plans to survey the largely unknown site in the Mabla Mountains and potentially suitable areas in between the two known sites. A promotional campaign in local schools took place in 2008 to raise awareness for the species.

The variety was named after the winemaker and tree nursery owner Léon Millot.

The specific epithet deliciosa means "delicious", referring to the edible fruit, while monstera means "monstrous", in reference to the size that this plant can grow to, over in many cases. Its popular name as a houseplant of "Swiss cheese plant", or just "cheese plant", is commonly stated to refer to the holes which develop in its leaves similar to the holes in some Swiss cheeses such as Emmental cheese. Monstera adansonii, which also has holes in the leaves, is also called "Swiss cheese plant", or Swiss cheese vine. Other common names include delicious monster, fruit salad plant, fruit salad tree (in reference to its edible fruit, which tastes similar to a fruit salad),Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery, Kyogle, New South Wales, Monstera Fruit Salad Tree.

The remainder lies in the Moshannon State Forest. The state established a tree nursery in the Moshannon State Forest in 1911, which became the largest in Pennsylvania before it closed in 1980. In addition to planting millions of trees, in 1913 the state encouraged use of state forest lands by allowing permanent leases for camp sites; when the state stopped issuing new permits in 1970, 4,500 campsites had been leased. The Pennsylvania Game Commission began purchasing land for state game preserves in 1920, and by 1941, State Game Lands 34, which is partly in Quehanna Wild Area, had been established. Despite these conservation efforts, major forest fires swept the Moshannon and Elk state forests in 1912, 1913, 1926, and 1930, and minor fires occurred in other years.

In contrast, the Great Southern Lumber Company was one of the pioneers in reforestation in the South and established a tree nursery that grew pine seedlings for restocking their cutover lands. Great Southern foresters began planting the company's cutover land with slash pine (Pinus elliottii) seedlings, because they grew faster than the virgin longleaf pines. However, that effort did not begin soon enough to establish second-growth pines as a source of lumber to feed the giant mill before the virgin timber was exhausted.

A typical machine consists of a number of blades (generally 3 or 4, but single or dual blade designs also exist) that encircle the tree, digging into the ground and then lifting the entire tree, including its roots and soil (in what is termed a "root ball"), out of the ground and replanting or transplanting the whole tree in the designated area. Similar machines can also be used for placing trees in pots or baskets for commercial tree nursery operations. Over a longer period, root growth is also stimulated. Many nursery managers were long reluctant to apply nitrogenous fertilizers late in the growing season, for fear of increased danger of frost damage to succulent tissues. A presentation at the North American Forest Tree Nursery Soils Workshop at Syracuse in 1980 provided strong contrary evidence: Bob Eastman, President of the Western Maine Forest Nursery Co. stated that for 15 years he has been successful in avoiding winter “burn” to Norway spruce and white spruce in his nursery operation by fertilizing with 50–80 lb/ac (56–90 kg/ha) nitrogen in September, whereas previously winter burn had been experienced annually, often severely. Eastman also stated that the overwintering storage capacity of stock thus treated was much improved (Eastman 1980).

He has traveled widely studying trees and their habitats and participated in educational exchanges with the national dendrology societies of Germany and Belgium, the TEMA Foundation of Turkey, the Kunming Institute of Botany in China, and arboreta throughout North America, Europe, and Latin America. Sternberg has served as an honorary director for Wild Ones: Natural Landscapes, lectures frequently for various colleges, trade and professional organizations, and other institutions, and is very active in the preservation of historic trees. His public service work includes helping the Illinois Capital City of Springfield as the tree consultant and propagator for a special tree nursery serving Oak Ridge Cemetery, the setting of President Abraham Lincoln's Tomb. His work there has been registered as a National Living Memorial Site by the US Forest Service.

Plant beds at Viveros Viveros de Coyoacán is a combination tree nursery and public park which covers 38.9 hectares in the Coyoacán borough of Mexico City. The nursery was founded by Miguel Angel de Quevedo in the early 20th century as a way to provide seedlings for the reforestation of Mexico’s badly damaged forests, especially around Mexico City. The first lands were donated by Quevedo himself with the federal government then getting involved, allowing for the planting of 140,000 trees between 1913 and 1914 alone. Today, the nursery produces one million seedlings per year mostly for projects around Mexico City. The area was declared a national park in 1938 and today attracts between 2,500 and 3,000 visitors daily, many of whom come to exercise or feed the area’s very tame squirrels.

In the years immediately before, and especially after, her husband's death, Lady Dufferin developed new initiatives at Clandeboye, and today the estate has associations with a number of environmental organisations and projects, being a home for Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland's biodiversity projects, training centre and tree nursery (in the old walled garden). The Northern Ireland branch of the Woodland Trust was established in 1998 in partnership with the Dufferin Foundation, and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew have developed a blossoming relationship with Clandeboye since 2003. Lady Dufferin also returned to the art world, and has exhibited in galleries in London and New York under the name Lindy Guinness. She was also the inspiration behind the opening of the Ava Gallery at Clandeboye in 2004, which exhibits works by leading contemporary Northern Irish artists and an annual exhibition of museum- standard work by a major artist or group of artists.

James & William Macarthur managed the estate with great enterprise, importing expert workers: Australia's first skilled wool-sorter from Silesia, shepherds from Scotland, vignerons from Nassau and dairymen from Dorset. They installed the first irrigation plant in Australia in 1830 and the first sheep wash and wool press. After changes of soil and climate in 1849 dictated sale of their merino stud, wheat was the stable until the mid 1860s. But rust and labour shortage led to a change to mixed farming - sheep and cattle fattening, mixed grains, wine, horses for India until 1857, and Australia's largest plant and tree nursery. The 2000 specimens of plants, shrubs and trees included the country's premier collections of domestic orchids and camellias, both of which William Macarthur was one of the first to introduce into Australia. Two vineyards were planted in 1830 and 1841 and produced up to a year including choice vintages, with as much as in cellar sometimes.

Reforestation can be used to rectify the effects of deforestation or improve the quality of human life by soaking up pollution and dust from the air, rebuilding natural habitats and ecosystems, mitigating global warming since forests facilitate biosequestration of atmospheric carbon dioxide, and harvesting for resources, particularly timber, but also non- timber forest products. In the beginning of the 21st century more attention is given to the ability of reforestation to mitigate climate change as one of the best methods to do it. To this end, the international community has agreed that Sustainable Development Goal 15, targets implementation of sustainable management of all types of forests, stop deforestation, restore degraded forests and increase afforestation and reforestation.

SR 88 begins at an intersection with SR 24/SR 540 (SR 24 is known as Ridge Road south of this intersection; SR 24 and SR 540 is part of the Fall Line Freeway west of here), just east of Sandersville, in the central part of Washington County. At this intersection, it begins a concurrency with SR 540 (and the Fall Line Freeway). The two highways head northeast to an intersection with the northern terminus of SR 231 and the southern terminus of Tree Nursery Road, north-northwest of Davisboro. This is just before the highways cross over the Ogeechee River on the Fenns Bridge into Jefferson County. Not too far into the county is an intersection with SR 171 (Grange Road). South of Stapleton is SR 296\. SR 88 and SR 540 continue to the northwest, until they meet US 1/US 221/SR 4/SR 17 (Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway) in the extreme southwestern part of Wrens. The six highways travel concurrently to the north-northeast into the main part of the city.
