The Leicester and Swannington Railway was originally built to carry coal and there was little provision for any passenger traffic. When the railway opened at Long Lane, now Coalville, in 1833 passenger business had to be carried out at the "Railway Hotel" adjacent to the level crossing.
After the disaster, a security system installation was planned. Just 10 months later the new SCMT automatic control was installed, and cargo trains routes were changed in order to lighten the load on single rail stretches in favor of better equipped main lines. Line upgrade was deemed a priority and works were quickly initiated. Railwaymen unions' requests for reduced speed limits in dense fog, new rules for train crossing and calls for a full scale deployment of automated traffic control systems on the whole Italian network went unheeded.
The highway has changed its route numbering from National Highway 1 to the M1 (motorway road) or A1 (single carriageway, generally with overtaking lanes). Luigi Ganna, leading after the first real climb near Lake Garda, was delayed by a puncture with about to go and the other racers attacked, but he caught them again after they were stopped by a train crossing. The leading riders then made their way into Bologna, where Dario Beni won the stage. The second stage, long, saw the first uphill finish, into Chieti, where Giovanni Cuniolo edged out Ganna for the stage win. Ganna's second place was nevertheless high enough to make him the new race leader.
The line passed through several corporate ownerships and was the rail link aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola before being abandoned circa 1979 with the bridges across several waterways removed. The trestle across Bayou Grande, immediately north of Chevalier Field on NAS Pensacola, was featured in the 1957 John Ford-directed MGM film "The Wings of Eagles" starring John Wayne, with a steam-powered freight train crossing the span during an N-9 floatplane buzz job. There remains almost no evidence of the rail line aboard the naval air station.
That October she married a Budapester teacher, Ernő Bán (later Earnest Ban). After the Communist occupation and takeover of Hungary between 1947 and 1948, Ban became a 7th and 8th grade teacher herself. Suffering from Soviet oppression, Ban, Earnest, and their two sons, István (Steven) and György (George), tried to escape to Austria, but were stopped on a train crossing the border. On December 29, 1956, less than a month later, the Bans again tried to cross, this time hidden in a shipment of giant balls of yarn.
In addition, ACTA prepared a report on a proposed north-south flyover to the south of Colton Crossing to reduce train crossing conflicts and hours-long congestion. The report was evaluated by ACTA, UP, BNSF and the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG). SANBAG conducted community outreach meetings to assist the project team with selecting the final build option. Locally, it has been called the Queen Ethelfleda Viaduct, but is also called the Britannia Bridge. It has been claimed that it was named after Ethelfleda, a ruler of the historic Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia, and that the southern abutments and pier of the bridge have been built on the site of the Saxon burh that had been erected by her in 915.
Carter (who would be next, according to Alex's plan) is still enraged over Terry's death and stops his car on a train crossing. The others flee the car, but Carter plans to die on his own terms, finally changing his mind at the last minute when his seatbelt jams. Alex saves him just before the car is smashed by an oncoming train, but it flings shrapnel from the wreckage into the air, decapitating Billy. Alex surmises that because he intervened in Carter's death, Death skips to the next person in the original sequence.
Trida was the terminus of the Broken Hill line between 10 February 1919 and 19 August 1925, from 1925 the line was completed between Sydney and Broken Hill. The station platform at Trida was opened on 10 February 1919 and is now closed (date of closure unknown). Trida remains a train crossing location where two trains can meet and pass one another on a 1,800 metre long section of double railway track, 750 rail kilometres from Sydney. Trida crossing loop is between the adjacent crossing locations of Matakana and Ivanhoe.
A train crossing the Kazakh steppe In 1847–1864 the Russians crossed the eastern Kazakh steppe and built a line of forts in the irrigated area along the northern Kyrgyz border. In 1864–68 they moved south, conquered Tashkent and Samarkand, confined the Khanate of Kokand to the Ferghana valley and made Bokhara a protectorate. This was the main event of the conquest. Our sources do not say why an eastern approach was chosen, but an obvious guess is that irrigation made it possible to move armies without crossing steppe or desert.
The single-track Taunus Railway has two platform tracks in the station. The trains of the Taunus Railway (RMV line 15) operate every half hour on weekdays, otherwise hourly. Basically, the tracks are used—even when there is no other train crossing—in directional mode: track 1 for trains to Usingen and track 2 for trains to Bad Homburg, although some non-crossing trains to Bad Homburg use track 1 because among other things it is more accessible for students. The neighbouring stations are at Anspach and Saalburg (in the district of Saalburgsiedlung).
When a man asks Shibuimaru how he felt, he brags about his acquittal and laughed at the fact that parents of his victims screamed when they discovered the acquittal. Shibuimaru finds Light looking over his shoulder and threatens him with a knife, but backs away and laughs, taunting Light by stating that no-one can prosecute him. Later on, Shibuimaru sees Light at a train crossing, gawking at him. Light, having previously killed another criminal, writes Shibuimaru's name into the Death Note, and he collapses of a heart attack as a train passes between them.
On 5 October 2009, at 04:20 am, Express No. 84 Trang-Bangkok derailed at Khao Tao Railway Station when it was entering a passing loop at 105 km/h. It was believed to have been caused by the driver falling asleep on duty. This was due to the fact that, at Wang Phong, the train was supposed to be collecting a schedule for stopping at certain passing loops for train crossing. However, the train sped through and went past a red light into the Wang Phong-Khao Tao section.
Jetty on River Morar The River Morar is a river that flows from Loch Morar in the west Highlands of Scotland. It flows from the western end of the loch to the estuary of Morar Bay, an inlet of the Sound of Sleat. At less than 1 km in length (at high tide), the River Morar is one of the shortest rivers in Scotland. Norwegian music projects Ildjarn and Nidhogg combined their talents to produce two ambient albums, one titled 'Hardangervidda Part I' (2003) and the other 'Hardangervidda Part II' (2003), inspired entirely by this zone. The final two acts of the play When We Dead Awaken () by Henrik Ibsen, are set in a mountain health resort in Hardangervidda. Location shooting for the Hoth sequences in The Empire Strikes Back took place on the Hardangerjøkulen glacier. The title theme of the Norwegian film O'Horten, by Norwegian composer Kaada, is titled Across the Hardanger Mountain Plateau and features a train crossing the area.
The film begins with a Rolls-Royce leaving a large house... it then moves to a train crossing the Thames and passing Battersea Power Station. Wealthy young heiress Polly Dean (Suzy Kendall) gives up a privileged life in Chelsea and moves to a working-class community in Battersea, where she takes a job in Macrindles confectionery factory in an attempt to distance herself from her moneyed upbringing and make her own living. On the factory floor everyone is singing and all are friendly, but perhaps somewhat unhygienic - smoking as they work on the sweets. The other girls mainly discuss men and sex.
A train crossing Reedham swing BridgeThe Eastern Counties Railway had been authorised on 4 July 1836 to construct a railway from London to Great Yarmouth by way of Ipswich and Norwich. At the time of authorisation this was a huge scheme: 126 miles of railway at a cost of £1.6 million, and it turned out that the project was considerably underestimated. The ECR only reached Colchester, and ran out of money, and for the time being the project finished there. The Northern and Eastern Railway had built a line from London to Bishop's Stortford, using the ECR London terminus.
The scene of a collapsing train bridge is partly without models. The overhead shot of a train crossing a bridge was full scale, but the bridge collapse was a large-scale miniature, verifiable by observing the slightly jerky motion of the rear passenger car as the train pulls away, as well as the slowed-down water droplets which are out of scale in the splashing river below. All the steamships shown in the first half are miniatures shot in an outdoor studio tank. The exception is the American ship shown at the intermission point, which is real.

The river become the transportation route for many Bruneian Malay and Kadazan villages situated along the river banks before bitumen roads and railway as a modern transportation networks being introduced by the British following their arrival. The small town of Papar owes its existence to the river after which it was named. First North Borneo Railway train crossing a new bridge on the river near the present location of Papar town, . A first bridge for crossing the river was built in 1901 under the administration of the British together with other iron bridges in Kimanis and Membakut.
Broyles, while instructing Olivia (Anna Torv) and Lincoln (Seth Gabel) to investigate, orders them to bring Peter along to examine the scenes. Broyles is concerned that Peter's reappearance may have created further tears between the prime and parallel universe leading to these events. The three find the time events are localized, returning the affected area to conditions four years ago for short periods of time before dissipating, such as a building reverting to a fire- worn state, or a train crossing on a long-disused set of tracks. Peter finds himself further jumping through time near these events.

It is a major traffic junction of the routes from Chur towards the Oberalp Pass and Lukmanier Pass and from Chur towards San Bernardino Pass and Julier Pass. The civilisation of the place is traced back until the year 500. The name originates from the Benedictine Abbey of Reichenau on Reichenau Island in Lake Constance which owned properties in this area during the Middle Ages.
Train crossing bridge over Notwane River The Notwane rises about south of Ramotswa, and runs along the border in a northeast direction to enter the Limpopo at the same longitude as Mahalapye. The Notwane has its source in the sandveld, at the eastern fringes of the Kalahari Desert. It flows roughly northeastwards past the most densely populated area of Botswana, passing east of Lobatse, between the city of Gaborone and Tlokweng village and then through Mochudi village. Finally it joins the left bank of the Limpopo River at the border with South Africa, just 6 km short of the confluence of the Limpopo with the Matlabas River.

A map showing the layout of the former sidings north of Herne Hill and the point of the 1960 collision On 6 November 1947, a steam train approaching from West Dulwich passed a signal at danger in heavy fog and crashed into an electric train crossing the station's south junction towards Tulse Hill. One passenger on the electric train was killed and nine others were hospitalised. A minor accident occurred on 30 June 1957. A light engine travelling towards Tulse Hill was waiting to cross the south junction when it was struck from behind by an express passenger train from Victoria that had passed a signal at danger.

The Rantau Panjang railway station was a Malaysian railway station located near Jalan Besar and named after the town of Rantau Panjang, Kelantan. Opened in 1921, it is located on the Rantau Panjang branch line, branching off from the main KTM East Coast Line at Pasir Mas. Rantau Panjang is one of the two rail border crossings on the border with Thailand (the other is Padang Besar railway station in Perlis), though currently there is no cross-border train crossing the Malaysia-Thailand border at Rantau Panjang. The Thai entrance to the Harmony rail bridge is currently sealed off by the Royal Thai Army.
The view from Île aux Cygnes towards the Eiffel Tower, with a RER-C train crossing the Pont Rouelle Line C was opened on 26 September 1979, following the construction of a new tunnel connecting the Gare d'Orsay railway terminus (now Musée d'Orsay) with the Invalides, terminus of the Rive Gauche line to Versailles, along the banks of the Seine. Services operated between Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche – Invalides – Quai-d'Orsay, branching to Massy – Palaiseau, and Juvisy – Dourdan / Saint-Martin d'Étampes. At that point the line was named the Transversal Rive Gauche. In May 1980, service was extended to Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines – Versailles – Chantiers – Gare des Invalides.
Postcard of a train crossing Long Key Viaduct The current structure was built to replace the Long Key Viaduct, which still stands parallel to the bridge. The Long Key Viaduct was completed in 1907 by Henry Flagler as part of his Overseas Railroad, the Key West Extension of the Florida East Coast Railway (though the railroad would not fully reach Key West until 1912). The viaduct was built with a series of 186 concrete arches, a design used by most of the railroad bridges in the keys. The Florida East Coast Railway often used the Long Key Viaduct in promotional material for the Overseas Railroad.
These types of complex junction are expensive to build and expensive to maintain. Special parts, sometimes made of manganese steel, are needed for each location where one rail crossed another (a "frog"); these parts often need to be custom-made and fitted for each single location, depending on the specific angle of crossing of the intersecting streets. A full grand union junction consists of 88 frogs (where one rail crosses another rail), and 32 switchpoints (point blades) if single-point switches are not used. A tram or train crossing the junction will encounter four or twenty frogs within the space of crossing the junction.
This original line suffered severe problems with track flexing and settling in the desert sands, and journeys across the Plain were slow and arduous. The line was entirely rebuilt in 1969, as part of a project to standardise the previously disparate rail gauges in the various states, and the first crossing of the Nullarbor on the new line reached Perth on 27 February 1970. The Indian Pacific is a regular passenger train crossing the Nullarbor from Perth to Sydney via Adelaide. The railway line has the longest straight section of railway in the world (), while the Eyre Highway (refer below) contains the longest straight section of tarred road in Australia ().
As of 2008, there were three road crossings (Gołdap-Gusev, Bezledy-Bagrationovsk and Gronowo- Mamonovo) and three train crossing (Braniewo-Mamonovo, Skandawa- Zheleznodorozhny and Głomno-Bagrationovsk). In 2010, the largest road crossing up to that point was opened at Grzechotki-Mamonovo. More crossings are being built (Perły-Krylovo, Piaski-Baltiysk, Rapa-Ozyorsk), as the EU standards require Poland to operate at least seven for that border. In the first quarter of 2012, the Polish-Russian border saw the least traffic out of the borders Poland shares with the non-European Union countries (the others being the Poland-Ukraine border and the Poland-Belarus border).
For the climactic race scene between Brian and Toretto, separate shots of both cars crossing the railroad and the train crossing the street were filmed, then composited together to give the illusion of the train narrowly missing the cars. A long steel rod was used as a ramp for Toretto's car to crash through the semi-truck and fly in mid-air. An alternate ending titled "More than Furious" was filmed, in which Tanner drops Brian off at the Toretto home, where he encounters Mia packing, intending to move away. Brian reveals that he resigned from the LAPD, who let him go quietly, and that he wants another chance with her.
Nevertheless, the actual interlocking setup was logical and fully functional in a way that an experienced train dispatcher could handle correctly. The defendant, however, had not followed general guidelines for problem handling - if he had double-checked the existing routes () on the signal box panel, then he should have easily spotted the route set for the train from Kolbermoor that was automatically blocking the exit signal for Bad Aibling. Nor did he radio to the train driver to proceed slowly under the unusual circumstances. The original error had occurred somewhat earlier, however: with one of the trains running late, he chose to move the train crossing from Kolbermoor to Bad Aibling by juggling some of the signals.
The Southall rail crash occurred on 19 September 1997, on the Great Western Main Line at Southall, west London. An InterCity 125 high speed passenger train (HST) failed to slow down in response to warning signals and collided with a freight train crossing its path, causing seven deaths and 139 injuries. The signaller was unaware that the automatic warning system, which warns drivers of adverse signals, had been turned off in the cab of the express, and had set a route which would stop the express and allow the freight train to cross in front of it. If he had known, he would have been prevented from setting a conflicting route under the operating rules.

The company was founded in 1889 to take over a concession, originally granted to Otto Bemberg & Co. the previous year, for the construction of a metre gauge line, 152 km long, from the Córdoba to Cruz del Eje via La Calera and Cosquín following the River Primero. The section from Córdoba to La Calera was opened on 30 July 1891 and San Roque was reached later that year on 4 September. The Cosquín to Cruz del Eje section was opened on 10 August 1891 and the line was finally completed when the San Roque to Cosquín section was opened on 7 March 1892.
N class locomotive hauled train running near Lara V/Line train crossing the Breakwater Bridge The Warrnambool line was originally built by the private Geelong and Melbourne Railway Company and opened on 25 June 1857, the line being sold to the Victorian Railways in 1860. The line was designed by English engineer Edward Snell, and built as a single track. The standard of engineering was called into question as the light timber bridges required extra maintenance and had a short life span, while the decision to build only a single track resulted in slow and infrequent trains. Travelers between Melbourne and Geelong continued to prefer the bay steamers across Port Phillip Bay, leading to diminished profits for the company.
Train crossing bridge at Banavie Shortly after leaving Glasgow Queen Street station, and beyond Queen Street Tunnel, the line diverges from the main trunk route to Edinburgh and Perth at Cowlairs and follows a northwesterly course through the suburbs of Maryhill and Kelvindale. Between and Dumbarton, the route is shared with the North Clyde Line to Helensburgh before branching northward at Craigendoran Junction towards , the section where the West Highland Line itself is generally accepted to begin. It gives high-level views of the Gareloch and Loch Long before emerging alongside the northwesterly shores of Loch Lomond, then climbs Glen Falloch to Crianlarich. The air battle over the waters of the Firth of Forth on 16 October 1939 was the first Luftwaffe attack on the British homeland. It was also the first occasion in World War II of enemy aircraft intruding into British airspace being fired at by the RAF, the first occasion enemy aircraft were shot down in British airspace during the war and also the first time an enemy aircraft was brought down on British soil during the war. It is sometimes said that the aircraft carrying out the attacks on 16 October 1939 were Heinkel 111s. Some passengers on a train crossing the Forth Bridge at the time of the attack believed that the bridge was a target.
The bridge is owned by Union Pacific with the upper deck leased to Oregon Department of Transportation, and subleased to TriMet, while the City of Portland is responsible for the approaches. An Amtrak Cascades train crossing the bridge The average daily traffic in 2000 was 23,100 vehicles (including many TriMet buses), 200 MAX trains, 40 freight and Amtrak trains, and 500 bicycles. The construction of the lower-deck walkway connected to the Eastbank Esplanade resulted in a sharp increase in bicycle traffic, with over 2,100 daily bicycle crossings in 2005. MAX traffic has tripled since 2000, when only the Gresham–Hillsboro line (now the Blue Line) was using the bridge, to 605 daily crossings (weekdays) as of 2012.

After meeting with leading British and French officials while relations between the European powers deteriorated, they traveled through France to Karlsbad (then a part of Austria-Hungary), and were there when Austria-Hungary attacked Serbia in late July. After leaving Karlsbad on the last train crossing the frontier through Germany to France,“Carlsbad a Trap for New Yorkers,” New York Times, 1914-08-08.” they eventually returned, without their belongings, to New York on an armed British vessel, the .
In 1935, the British film The Silent Passenger was released, in which Lord Peter, played by well-known comic actor Peter Haddon, solved a mystery on the boat train crossing the English Channel. Sayers disliked the film and James Brabazon describes it as an "oddity, in which Dorothy's contribution was altered out of all recognition." The novel Busman's Honeymoon was originally a stage play by Sayers and her friend Muriel St. Clare Byrne. A 1940 film of Busman's Honeymoon (US: The Haunted Honeymoon), starring Robert Montgomery and Constance Cummings as Lord and Lady Peter was released (with Seymour Hicks as Bunter), but the characters and events bore little resemblance to Sayers's writing, and she refused even to see the film.
Minot was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. Her father George Richards Minot was born in 1927 and worked as a banker and stock broker in Boston. Her mother born Helen Ruth Hannon in 1929, known as Carrie Minot, was a mother and homemaker, was killed January 16, 1978 when the car she was driving was hit at a train crossing, the signals being down after an ice storm. She has three sisters: Carrie Minot Bell, an artist; Dinah Minot Hubley, a photographer and non-profit manager; Eliza Minot Price, a novelist, and three brothers George Minot, a novelist, nutritionist and yoga teacher; Sam Minot, a painter; and Christopher Minot, an artist and museum installer.
Conditions weren't the best with the area was gripped by a malaria epidemic; it was in the zone called 'fever country'. Komatipoort was the last stop in the South African Republic (ZAR) Pretoria - Delagoa Bay Line constructed by the Netherlands-South African Railway Company (NZASM) with the first train crossing the border at Komatipoort from the ZAR to Portuguese East Africa on 1 July 1891 after the completion of the rail bridge over the Komati River. Between 1900 and 1902 during the Anglo/Boer War, the town was used as a base by Major F Von Steinaecker and his group known as 'Steinaecker's Horse'. They were a bunch of mercenaries and bushwhackers and were recruited by the British in order to fight Boer guerrillas in the bushveld.
Lithograph 1860 The viaduct was opened on Whit Monday, 1 June 1857 by Lady Isabella Fitzmaurice, with the first train crossing the bridge and entering the Bryn Tunnel in June 1854, but it could not proceed further as Kennard's construction team had not yet finished the Hengoed Viaduct, which he had won the contract to design and act as civil engineer on. The final Crumlin viaduct, at high and across its two spans and ten trusses in length ( and ), remained the highest railway viaduct in Great Britain throughout its working life. Nearby were the Crumlin railway stations, both at high (viaduct) and valley levels. As Liddell predicted, the location proved to be susceptible to high winds and resultant swaying, resulting in continual expensive maintenance.

Quart Pot Creek rail bridge, very early 1900s The Quart Pot Creek Rail Bridge was constructed in 1886 as part of the former Brisbane-Sydney interstate rail link. Steam train crossing the railway bridge at Quart Pot Creek Stanthorpe 1917The major impetus to development in Stanthorpe occurred in 1872 with the start of the practice of alluvial tin mining after discoveries of the valuable metal in the area in the mid 1850s. Stanthorpe became the collective name for two townships (“Quart Pot Creek” and “Stannum”) that grew as a result of the mining boom and became the only centre on the pastoral Darling Downs to develop with mining based revenue.
