The second group, Orquesta Aragón, played some of the most dynamic music of the festival, utilizing its charanga sound of violins, cello, flute and rhythm section. The concert was running very late, and people began to leave the hall because of a midnight public transportation curfew. Hence, when the Fania All-Stars took the stage the house was half empty, yet the excitement of this ensemble-featuring practically every top name in salsa still captured the spirit of the audience.

Stratovarius has then become a top name in the European heavy metal scene, recording seven more albums and performing in numerous notable rock festivals. In late 2003, Kotipelto split from Stratovarius after intra-band disagreements, notably with guitarist Timo Tolkki. After much turmoil throughout 2004, he rejoined the band in January 2005, recorded the album Stratovarius, and performed live on tour that covered North America, South America, Europe and Asia. In 2008, Timo Tolkki made public that he and Timo Kotipelto had arguments but Koltipelto never really left the band and the announcement that he left was part of a big publicity stunt.

Monday morning. "Celebrities, politicians, and tourists" often arrived in the early morning hours after the clubs on the white side of town had closed, and white performers such as Frank Sinatra, Milton Berle, and Lenny Bruce would go up on stage. Top-name black musicians also dropped by "to jam and develop their skills". Musician Kelly Swaggerty, who was with Tadd Dameron's band at the time, remembered a jam session with Clifford Brown, Art Farmer and Joe Gordon that began at the Paradise Club and was continued at Club Harlem as the musicians wanted to continue playing.

In 2005, Racoon released their third album called Another Day, a major hit with highly successful singles such as "Love You More", "Laugh About It" and "Brother". In 2006, Racoon collaborated with Armin van Buuren to create a trance version of their hit tune "Love You More". The collaboration proved popular in the trance scene and was soon being played by many top name DJs. In 2008, the band released its fourth album, Before You Leave with the band being present at many Dutch Festivals and playing in front of thousands of visitors during Pinkpop, Rockin Park and Parkpop events.

In September 1925, it was announced that Koppisch would be returning to Buffalo to coach the Buffalo Bisons. He was only 23 years-old at the time, making him one of the youngest head coaches in NFL history. However, the newly established New York Giants, were seeking a well-known player which they could build a team around, and Walter's was the top name on their list. According to Harry March, in his book Pro Football: Its Ups and Downs (the accuracy of which is disputed), the Giants stopped pursuing Koppisch at the request of the Bisons.

Faithful to her country music roots, she was also the "top name" on WLWT's televised version of Midwestern Hayride, which began as a regional program and was eventually the first country music program regularly broadcast on a national TV network, NBC. Bonnie Lou, dubbed "Queen of the Hayride", (and sometimes affectionately referred to on the show as "Queenie") appeared on the program until it ceased production in 1972.

Many white labels contain unauthorized remixes or tracks that are not yet licensed or released (also called "bootlegs"). White labels are referred to as "promos" (short for "promotional copies") that many top-name DJs receive and play weeks or months prior to the day of general release to the public. As artists using samples pay high fees for the privilege of such, they must be able to gauge the market potential of their tracks prior to approval. Recently, smaller promo services offer record companies a more economical means of distribution although these companies may not have the means to properly protect releases from illegal copying.

Annually in late September, the town is the destination of choice for thousands of music lovers and top name performers for the Looe Music Festival, which takes place in temporary venues around the town, harbour and on East Looe beach. There is a tradition of the townsfolk wearing fancy dress on New Year's Eve, when the streets are thronged with revellers in inventive outfits. Looe has been on the list of the top ten places in the UK to celebrate New Year, and ranked third on the list for 2007-08. Looe is regenerating itself, like many other ports, to serve as a small cargo port.

2002 saw Tolfrey gain increased support from local independent record shop Funky Monkey, and also from underground club The Bomb who have been instrumental in organising exclusive guest slots from top name DJs such as Craig Richards, Jay Tripwire and Dave Congreve. Tolfrey soon acquired residencies at notable clubs The Bomb, Stealth, and also became the youngest DJ to ever play at Fabric on a Saturday. Wanting to be involved more in the other aspects of dance music, Tolfrey dived into production work. Beginning his work through the moniker Out-ed, Tolfrey gained success through his initial releases and was later invited by reputable label, Crosstown Rebels for production releases.

Top name performers of the time who were fans of the band are mentioned, such as Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong, who was said to have tried unsuccessfully to convince Davis to leave the Sweethearts and join his band. Drummer Panama Francis recalls a "battle of the bands" between his all-male band and the Sweethearts. Newspaper headlines and anecdotal memories about long lines of fans waiting to get into the band's performances at places such as the Apollo Theater and the Regal Theater are shared. The band's European tours with the USO at the end of World War II are depicted.

Hatfield was closely connected with Middlesbrough Football Club all his life, and as a result, the shop supplied the Club with all their sporting equipment. Jack Hatfield's was visited by scores of professional and amateur footballers over the years, and Hatfield counted the likes of Matt Busby and Brian Clough as personal friends. Hatfield was made one of the eight Directors of Middlesbrough Football Club in 1952. As well as bringing many top name players to Middlesbrough, he also played an instrumental part in bringing three FIFA World Cup games to Ayresome Park in 1966, even though they were played a year after his death.

She developed industry contacts by hosting a weekend luncheon and fashion show at a local hotel that attracted 500 to 600 attendees, and drew top-name designers to the city by inviting them to cocktail parties at her home. Albert produced thousands of fashion shows during her career. Among her biggest events were a show for the 100th anniversary of the National Association of Cotton Manufacturers and the Million Dollar Back Bay Fashion Show. She scripted, produced and commentated on the thrice-daily fashion shows presented at the New England Pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair and reported on the first White House fashion show in 1968.

Since the 2008 relaunch the Alhambra has hosted major musicals including Blood Brothers (the first West End touring production to visit Dunfermline for 77 years), The Rocky Horror Show, Grease and Chicago. Many of the top name comedy performers have also performed at the Alhambra: Kevin Bridges, Alan Carr, Dara O'Brian, Tim Minchin, Bill Bailey and the late Sir Ken Dodd are part of a long list. The theatre has also hosted a number of ballet and opera companies, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra. The Scottish National Theatre has performed The House of Bernarda Alba, The Wicker Man and Dracula.

The BFI 75 Most Wanted is a list compiled in 2010 by the British Film Institute of the most sought-after British feature films not held in the BFI National Archive, and classified as "missing, believed lost". The films chosen range from quota quickies and B-movies to lavish prestige productions of their day. The list includes lost works by major directors and those featuring top- name actors; also films which were top box-office successes in their time but have since disappeared, and works which are believed to be historically significant for some aspect of style, technique, subject matter or innovation.BFI 75 Most Wanted BFI National Archive.

The restaurant often hosted Martin Luther King Jr. and his associates during the Civil Rights Movement, and was noted for being a place that whites and blacks could both visit, as well as being tolerant of homosexuals. In 1960 the Paschal brothers opened the La Carrousel Lounge, a jazz venue, adjacent to the restaurant. The lounge attracted top- name jazz performers and, like the restaurant, was open to whites and blacks alike in the then-segregated city. In 1967, the Paschal brothers expanded the property further with a 125-room motel, fulfilling their vision of providing "food, drink, merriment, entertainment, and a place to rest up for more all within the confines of one complex".

Paschal's La Carrousel was considered the "jazz mecca" of Atlanta in the 1960s and early 1970s. Top-name performers who appeared at La Carrousel Lounge included: Cannonball Adderley, Aretha Franklin, Erroll Garner, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Ahmad Jamal, Quincy Jones, Gladys Knight, Ramsey Lewis, Russell Malone, Wes Montgomery, Lou Rawls, Horace Silver, Jimmy Smith, The Three Sounds, Stanley Turrentine, and Joe Williams. In its later years, the club drew large crowds on weeknights as well as weekends by alternating sets between visiting performers and local groups. Jimmy Smith's live album The Boss was recorded at Paschal's La Carrousel in 1968, featuring Smith on organ, George Benson and Nathan Page on guitar, and Donald Bailey on drums.

Paiva moved with them to Rio de Janeiro and returned to work as a civil engineer, but still kept contact with the exiled left-wing militants. Rubens Paiva founded, alongside editor Fernando Gasparian, the newspaper Jornal de Debates and was the last director of Última Hora in São Paulo, before Samuel Weiner sold it to Octávio Frias' Grupo Folha. After a visit to Santiago, Chile, in order to help the exiled daughter of his friend Bocaiúva Cunha, Paiva returned to Brazil. On his trip, he was mistakenly identified as a contact of "Adriano", which was the contact of Carlos Lamarca, then the top name on the most wanted list kept by Brazil's dictatorship regime.

The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom is a half-hour variety show that aired on ABC-TV from October 3, 1957 to June 23, 1960, starring the young singer Pat Boone and a host of top-name guest stars sponsored by Chevrolet. Boone, a descendant of Kentucky frontiersman Daniel Boone, was, at 23, still attending Columbia University in New York City when the program began production. Upon his graduation from Columbia in 1958, TV Guide magazine pictured him in his cap and gown on its cover. Boone, the No. 10 all-time vocalist in sales, was at the time the youngest person to host his own network variety program until ABC's The Donny & Marie Show, with two hosts, broke the record in 1976.

It has been claimed that on one occasion a wild steer bull broke out of the Hartford stockyard and ran wild in the streets. Curry grabbed the bull by the horns and managed to wrestle it to the ground, however it is likely this was in fact nothing more than a fictional story created by wrestling promoters in order to give reason to his nickname of “Wild Bull” that stuck with him for the rest of his life. Later on in the 1930s, Curry began wrestling in Detroit under promoter Adam Weissmuller (uncle of Johnny Weissmuller) who also trained him for his professional career. Curry stayed in Detroit for several years developing his brutal, hardcore style of wrestling that made him a top name in the territory.

Dr. Wagner Jr. was teamed up with UWA's top name El Canek for the tournament, defeating the team of Vampiro and Pierroth Jr. in the finals to become the first CMLL World Tag Team Champions. Dr. Wagner Jr.'s first reign as CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion ended on March 2, 1994 as he was defeated by Atlantis. By early 1994 Dr. Wagner Jr. began teaming with Gran Markus Jr. and El Hijo del Gladiador on a regular basis, forming a team known as La Nueva Ola Blanca ("The New White Wave"), adopting the name of his father's tag team. La Nueva Ola Blanca won the CMLL World Trios Championship on April 22, 1994 when they defeated Los Brazos (El Brazo, Brazo de Oro and Brazo de Plata).

Rushlight Magazine Since that time, it has served as Belfast's principal shopping thoroughfare, and today it is lined with many leading department stores and top name shops. The city's most prestigious and elegant hotel, the Grand Central Hotel, was on the street before it was demolished in the late 1980s to make room for the £40 million shopping complex, Westfield CastleCourt. The site on which it was built by John Robb was originally intended to be a central railway terminus; however, due to hesitation on the part of town councillors, Robb constructed a 200-room luxury hotel instead.

In order to preserve his status as the best runner in the world, George Martin, Deerfoot's agent, resolved to fix races in a running troupe that toured England, utilizing top name runners to bolster Deerfoot's shining reputation. The "Deerfoot Troupe" raced every day of the week except Sunday, with the runners being forced to walk to some of the races, sometimes great distance. The group was recognized quickly as a farce and although the tour continued through England, Martin resolved to force the runners onward. Deerfoot decided that at this point he needed to quit the troupe and run competitions again, with the hope of bringing gold and trophies home to his Seneca tribe With the public betting against him, Deerfoot first lost a race, then regained his champion caliber career, beating new and old top runners in England alike.

He also joined MTV prank show Flash Prank as a regular cast member fooling members of the public. In 2013, struggling to put a show together for the Edinburgh Fringe, McNeil (a lover of video-games) & Sam Pamphilon decided to create a show where comedians played video-games for entertainment: In the show, McNeil & Pamphilon Go 8 Bit, audiences were split into two teams, Team McNeil and Team Pamphilon, and would watch top-name comedians go head-to-head in classic retro games including Street Fighter and Bomberman. Comedians Richard Soames, Nish Kumar and Paul Foxcroft often joined as commentators with support from Guy Kelly and resident 'Punishment Twat' Will Heartley. The captain and/or comedian of whichever team lost the round would have to suffer a forfeit such as eating a bowl of jalapeños or drinking a sardine smoothie.

Steam tractor lineup at the 2010 Midwest Old Thresher's Reunion Mount Pleasant is also home to the Midwest Old Thresher's Reunion which attracts a crowd numbering over 100,000 admissions annually during an extended five-day weekend which ends on Labor Day. The reunion dates back to 1950 and pays tribute to the agricultural heritage of the American Midwest in an extensive, highly interactive manner, with live-action exhibition-style displays centering on restored mechanical equipment, particularly steam engines, farm tractors, stationary gas engines, antique and classic cars, the narrow-gauge Midwest Central Railroad, and electric trolleys. Country music shows featuring top-name performers, an expansive modern campground with transportation to the main grounds, and an extensive food court and numerous other offerings (run entirely by local churches and nonprofit organizations) are some of the amenities Old Threshers guests enjoy.

The 500 Club became one of the most popular nightspots on the East Coast, regularly attracting top-name talent. Performers included Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Martin and Lewis, the Will Mastin Trio, Jimmy Durante, Eartha Kitt, Patti Page, Sophie Tucker, the Jackie Paris Trio, Milton Berle, Nat King Cole, and Liberace, among many others. Martin and Lewis in 1948 Frank Sinatra called on his friendship with D'Amato to perform at the club in the 1940s when his career was at a lull. He regularly performed there from the 1940s through to the 1960s, each time doing all four shows and waiving his fee. During Sinatra's engagements at the club in the 1950s, the 500 Club marquee read simply, "He's Back". Comedian Pat Henry started as Sinatra's opening act at the 500 Club in 1958, continuing in that capacity in Las Vegas and other Sinatra venues for the next two decades.

They called it a hiatus to allow the fans and Live Nation to consider bringing the festival back in 2020 (something that would have been impossible due to social distancing mandates imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic) with much different concession policies as well as some other traditional policies that Live Nation desired to change in the past but met with angry fans promising to boycott the festival if Live Nation changed the policies. To the last performance on the stage in 2018 it was one of America's major American Country Music festivals, featuring top-name stars on its headliners' list every year. (The Jamboree in the Hills was later spun off to Live Nation in 2006; WWVA owner iHeartMedia also continued to air the annual event on WOVK.) until the last performance in 2018. The song "Take Me Home, Country Roads," a major hit for John Denver, was inspired by the Jamboree.

He was insistent it be spelled that way, and with no opposition so it stuck. Martin acted as the band's manager and the band played many high- profile gigs playing a mix of blues-rock and originals, until they were discovered by Steve Rondo, a local entrepreneur with a high profile out in the Sydney West area. Steve Rondo took Geeza out of the school and local dance circuit and into serious events often supporting top name acts such as Chain, Sherbet, Buffalo and early AC/DC to name a few. In September 1974, the band underwent a significant change of style and we saw the departure of the two blues musicians Tony Cini and Ray Falzon, the new line up included Terry Meaney (then only 17) on vocals, Gabby Marshall (Vendetti) on guitar, Marty Lee (Martin Adamson) on bass, Ian Marshall (Webb) on first drums and Alan Fraeil on second drums (ala Garry Glitter style).

The Shags' next single "Don't Press Your Luck" b/w "Hey Little Girl", recorded at Trod Nossel and released in May 1966 on Taurus Records, became a double-sided hit in a wide region, with both sides receiving ample airplay, particularly "Don't Press Your Luck", which was the Shags' definitive breakout hit, making the band a New England phenomenon. Now that they were one of the most popular bands in their region, they were able to open for top-name acts such as the Byrds, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Chad and Jeremy, the Young Rascals, B. B. King, Peter and Gordon, the Beau Brummels, the Lovin' Spoonful, Simon & Garfunkel, the Righteous Brothers, and the Coasters. In June 1965, the band appeared at a show sponsored by Danny Thomas to raise funds to build a hospital held at Yale's Woolsey Hall which featured Lesley Gore, Chubby Checker, and other local groups. The Shags, who received third billing, were greeted with a mob of screaming girls, not unlike "Beatlemania".
