From 1947 he took part in the establishment and development of the Police Surveillance Agency, in cooperation with Asbjørn Bryhn. During the Cold War he was the main responsible for surveyance of Soviet activities in Norway.

Kaleb Nytrøen (23 October 1905 - 29 April 1994) was a Norwegian police officer. He was born in Tolga. He started his service in the police in 1930. From 1937 he was involved with the establishment of Overvåkningstjenesten, a surveyance department in the police force.

Revolutions in Brazil between 1894 and 1897 had caused a delay in the colonization of the region, with just an estimated 1,200 inhabitants between the Uruguay and Comandaí colonies. The early settlers were ethnically diverse, with Swedes being the first to arrive. They were followed by Poles, Germans, Italians, Russians, Portuguese, Czechoslovakians, Austrians, Spaniards, Ukrainians and others soon after. Poles began to become prominent in Guarani das Missões around 1900, around the same time that the colony began increased construction and surveyance of the land.

In September 1925, the first sample of B. pandanetorum were collected, twice, in Gabon. They were both found in the Ngounie River region; the first specimen was located near Kembélé, and the second, along the River Dévèla. Both were attached to Pandanus trees, and so the botanist's choice of specific epithet. Since then, it has never been collected again from anywhere in that country, and in spite of meticulous, if sporadic botanical surveyance in many parts of the south and west of Cameroon, B. pandanetorum had never been among the plants collected in that country either.

Educated at Eton College and at the University of Oxford, despite an unsuccessful attempt to be MP for Liverpool in 1818, he sat as MP for Droitwich, Worcs between 1816 and 1831. Sefton opposed the surveyance of the world's first railway line, the Liverpool and Manchester Railway line, in 1824 and did his utmost to prevent it. Ultimately, he was not successful in preventing the railway's construction in 1830. On 20 June 1831, he was created Baron Sefton of Croxteth in the Peerage of the United Kingdom which allowed him to sit in the House of Lords.

During this trip, Mosconi met with Lázaro Cárdenas, who would nationalize oil in Mexico ten years later, and General Elías Plutarco. The influence of these doctrines reached Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Colombia. Mosconi managed YPF efficiently and, while establishing a soon-to-be major oil company, starts fighting the political pressure of two giants of hydrocarbon exploitation: the British-Dutch Royal Dutch, and John D. Rockefellers' Standard Oil.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Belousov (or Beloussov) () ( in Moscow - December 25, 1990) was an Earth scientist in the Soviet Union, and a prominent advocate of alternatives to the theories of plate tectonics and seafloor spreading during the period of the 20th century in which debate on these subjects was most intense. Beloussov was head of the Geodynamics Department of the Institute of the Physics of the Earth in Moscow (from 1944), a corresponding member of the Soviet Academy of Sciences (from 1953), and a professor at both the Moscow Geological Surveyance Institute (from 1943) and Moscow State University (from 1953). From 1960 to 1963, Beloussov was President of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). He was also a Foreign Member of Geological Society of London.
