In this capacity, Larisch was responsible for the protection of the essential railroad transport in the puppet Independent State of Croatia, from acts of sabotage by the partisan movement active there.Tomasevich, War and Revolution in Yugoslavia, p. 278. Larisch held this position in 1943; whether his units were implicated in war crimes is unknown. Operations at the Eastern Front, January to March 1945. The defensive line, which Larisch's 129th Infantry Division defended, lies along the river Narew, north of Warsaw, a tributary of Vistula river. By 1943, Larisch had completed 10 years of troop service, but hadn't yet received a combat assignment. Presumably, he had earned sufficiently good evaluations from his superiors to be considered as a future divisional leader, so, in the summer of 1943, he took part in a one-month divisional leaders course in Berlin. He returned to Croatia in August and, on 1 November 1943, he was given the command of the 78th Sturm Division, one of the strongest, best-equipped and most effective combat units of the Eastern Front.

Originally the hospital operated under a charter granted by James I. Now the Abbot's Hospital Trustee Company's legal framework of how it administers its services is determined by an Act of Parliament: the Hospital of the Blessed Trinity (Guildford) Charity Scheme Confirmation Act 1953 as modified by subsequent schemes of regulation, which includes receiving periodic residential satisfaction questionnaires. The Mayor of the borough, the priests of three closest Anglican parishes and the Headmaster of the Royal Grammar School, Guildford are governors and thereby trustees; as too are two appointed by Guildford Borough Council and the remainder are persons residing or carrying on business in or near the Borough of Guildford co-opted by the Board, subject to the approval of the Archbishop of Canterbury – the Hospital's official visitor. A resident Master continues to be responsible for its overall supervision. Couples were already eligible before the premises were widened, as were widowed and single elderly, subject to meeting any one of three borough connection requirements, a ceiling on wealth and being of sufficiently good health to lead an independent life.

However, the government considered that the Roslagen Anti-Aircraft Corps had the best conditions for air defense training, from a purely air defense perspective, but the Göta Anti-Aircraft Corps was decided by the government to have sufficiently good conditions for continued air defense training. The government came, in its bill regarding the Defence Act of 2000, therefore, to disband Roslagen Anti-Aircraft Corps and maintain the Göta Anti-Aircraft Corps as it had greater and better opportunity for garrison coordination with an expanded infrastructure to cope with increased mechanization of the air defense. With the Defence Act the training of the air defense was concentrated to four air defense battalions, three in Halmstad and to Norrland Anti- Aircraft Battalion in Boden. As the Göta Anti-Aircraft Corps became a unified unit for the country's air defense, including three air defense battalions and the Air Defence Combat School, the corps was upgraded to regiment, and on 1 July 2000 adopted the new name Air Defence Regiment (Lv 6).

Despite being in their first finals series since 1974, the Lions only just failed to beat East Fremantle in the grand final and gained ample revenge against the Sharks the following year by eleven and a half goals. Their team was sufficiently good to be competitive against VFL premiers Hawthorn in a post-season "challenge" match – ironically Hawthorn's win was led by Subiaco's one star of the bleak late 1970s and early 1980s in Gary Buckenara. An irrepressible Claremont outfit under the innovative coaching of Gerard Neesham halted Subiaco in 1987, but the following year after losing the second semi to the Tigers and being unconvincing in the preliminary against East Fremantle, the Lions, playing a much more traditional game than Claremont and aided by the controversial inclusion of West Coast Eagle Laurie Keene, ran away to win by 62 points after an even first half. The massive drain of players to the VFL meant Subiaco could not keep up this standard, and they won only six games each in 1989 and 1990 before returning to the Grand Final in 1991 only for Claremont to have its revenge.
