Aaron Walker was born on June 4, 1990 in Woodstock, Georgia. He played youth soccer in the North Atlanta Soccer Association in Marietta, Georgia, and attended Etowah High School. In 2008, he matriculated to Oglethorpe University in nearby Brookhaven, Georgia. He started for the men's soccer team, the Stormy Petrels in NCAA Division III, for all four of his years at the school.

The Gators scored all 21 points in the first half, including two touchdowns in the first five minutes. The first touchdown was scored by a short run behind center from Ferdinand H. Duncan. An Oglethorpe punt was later blocked by Tootie Perry, recovered by Swanson for a touchdown.

Alabama won 41–0 before 3,000 fans at Tuscaloosa.1922 Season Recap Bartlett scored five of their six touchdowns in the victory. He scored touchdowns on a 26-yard run in the first, a 15-yard reception from Hulet Whitaker in the second, and on a pair of runs in the third and one in the fourth.

The 1918 Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels football team represented Oglethorpe University in American football during the 1918 college football season. The addition of a Student's Army Training Corps detachment at Oglethorpe increased enrolment significantly. This allowed Oglethorpe to field a larger team of consistently 30 boys. Oglethorpe's first large game against another college that was widely viewed by the public was played against The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, although Oglethorpe did play Auburn University earlier that season.

Women's basketball at Oglethorpe Oglethorpe University teams compete as a member of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) at the NCAA Division III level. The Stormy Petrels were a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis and track & field; while women's sports include basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, track & field, and volleyball. The school's most successful athletic program is its men's golf team.

This was one of the first of Oglethorpe's seasons with a grown up program; they joined the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association after the season. Oglethorpe proved itself against some of the toughest opponents. Despite a loss to Georgia Tech, Oglethorpe was still able to boast that it was the only team to hold Tech from scoring on their touchdown line and were able to make a stop.

On 24 April 1968 the Central Middlesex Hospital opened a residency, teaching laboratory and lecture theater, named Horace Joules Hall in his honour. A one-day conference on 'Progress in the prevention of chest disease in memory of Horace Joules' was also held at the Avery Jones Postgraduate Centre of the Central Middlesex Hospital, London, on 27 January 1978. Christopher Freeman, a former member of the Communist Party who traveled with Joules to the Soviet Union in 1952, described Joules as an 'ethical' and 'humane' person, not particularly interested in matters of political theory (cited in). In his obituary, the Times described him as 'one of the stormy petrels of the early days of the National Health Service [...] His pen and his voice, both of which he could use with facility and abrasiveness all too often did him and his cause a disservice.’ However, Ball in his obituary described him as 'a fighter [if] he saw anything he considered wrong, either in the abuse of power or of vested interests... But fierce battle in committee never led to personal antagonism or rancour; many who disagreed with him publicly came to appreciate his warmth and friendship in private.'.
