Sniveling, stuttering Fletcher is a stark contrast to the confident and charismatic Scout. The two swap stories about the times shared together in Mr. Kinderland’s custody before they are joined by Eleanor Grubb, the caretaker. Fletcher agonizes over the dire weather warnings as Scout gets the alcohol flowing and Mrs.

A Stab in the Dark was a British television programme of topical monologues and discussion screened on Channel 4 in 1992, shortly after Channel 4 axed the similarly titled (but unrelated) After Dark. It was hosted by comedian David Baddiel, television presenter Tracey MacLeod and journalist and critic Michael Gove, later a Conservative MP and minister. The monologues, often containing very dark 'humour', were delivered straight to camera by each host in turn before a small studio audience on a stark set with numerous staircases.

MacLeod attended Ipswich High School and Durham University. MacLeod worked as a researcher for the BBC before making her on-screen debut in 1987 on Channel 4’s youth show Network 7. Other screen credits include channel 4’s A Stab in the Dark with David Baddiel and Michael Gove, All I Want – A Portrait of Rufus Wainwright, Kitchen Criminals, Masterchef, and voicing over many music documentaries and the long-running BBC2 show Rapido, presented by Antoine de Caunes. She appeared as a guest interviewer in Sean Hughes' 1992 comedy series Sean's Show.

This success led the show to transfer to BBC2, where it ran for two series, after which both duos decided to end the show. During this time, Baddiel also co-hosted the Channel 4 programme A Stab in the Dark. After The Mary Whitehouse Experience, Baddiel and Newman re-teamed up for Newman and Baddiel in Pieces, which ran for seven episodes on BBC2, featuring character sketches, monologues and observation routines. Despite a fraught working relationship, the show saw Newman and Baddiel find enormous success as live performers, held up as examples of comedy as ‘the new rock ’n’ roll’, with their tour (Newman and Baddiel: Live and In Pieces) culminating in the first ever sold-out gig for a comedy act at Wembley Arena, playing to 12,500 people.

Though characterised as about zombies, Les Revenants, broadcast in the UK as The Returned, features the dead coming back to life and returning to the town in which they once lived, seemingly as they were, and not as archetypal zombies. Mogwai were contacted by the television show's producers and asked to start writing music before filming had begun. Band-member John Cummings said that > We didn't know what the overall tone was going to be like - we'd seen the > first couple of scripts in English, but the rest of them weren't translated > and we hadn't seen any footage, so it was a bit stab in the dark, but they > seem to have a decent view of the things they wanted, so from the things we > sent they were choosing different ones. The band later clarified the order of events in an interview published in Fact magazine.

She went back to stage acting and her major break came with a series of classic performances when Emancipation Day celebrations to commemorate the abolition of slavery were introduced in Ghana in 1995. She played the role of Fathia Nkrumah, wife of Ghana’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah in a drama staged during the celebrations and played the role of the wife of former slave trader who was active in abolition of the slave trade in the drama Abolition (1995). It was her portrayal of a cute, sexy student, who took advantage of a friend’s trust to seduce her friend’s father and destabilise a happy family, in Stab in the Dark (1997) that took her film career to a new level and projected her into stardom. After a series of Ghanaian productions, her career took another major boost when she began acting major roles in Nollywood (Nigerian) movies with Journey of the Dead (2001).
