Page's Court, known locally as 'The Precinct' Today Yatton is a large village. Page's Court — the village's shopping precinct — includes a supermarket and several local shops and takeaways. There are a number of thriving local businesses, including Pullin's Bakers, Costain Technology Solutions (formerly Simulation Systems Ltd), Stowell Concrete, Smart Systems, Oxford Instruments, Titan Ladders and Bob Martin Petcare. Farming remains an important activity in the area.
It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building. The Old Rectory was a Prebendary house, built in the 15th century and has been designated as a Grade I listed building. As well as St Mary's (Church of England), Yatton has Methodist, Catholic and independent places of worship. Yatton Methodist Church is situated on the High Street, opposite the main shopping precinct.
SH73/South Terrace, October 2013 Darfield has a shopping precinct along the main street, including a Four Square Supermarket. The town also has many churches, most notably St Joseph's Catholic Church and Trinity Church (Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian). Darfield has two resthomes. Other services include: a bakery, bank, cafés and bars, hotels, a library, motels, numerous petrol stations, a post office, and a veterinary clinic.
The result is an open-air galleria-like shopping precinct under the glazed ribbon structure and a curved retail façade to the street edges. The project was developed by The Sunland Group and built by Sunland Constructions. The building was the Silver Award winner of the 2005 Emporis Skyscraper Award, coming in second to Turning Torso in Sweden. Q1 was completed towards the end of 2005.
Elms Parade Botley shops comprise Elms Parade and the West Way shopping precinct. The various large office buildings along the main road include Seacourt Tower, known locally as "Botley Cathedral" owing to its small metal spire, originally built in 1965–66 as a car showroom and garage to a design by Beecher and Stamford.Sherwood & Pevsner, 1974, p. 333 It remains in the ownership of Hartwell Ford.
There is a shopping precinct that offers coffee shops and restaurants. Horsham is the capital of the region and hosts events from sport to cultural interests. The Horsham golf course is known as country Victoria's best, as awarded from the pro-am circuit. The region is the site of lakes and a Wimmera River system and in normal seasons is popular with fishing, boating, swimming and water enthusiasts.
Indeed, for many years, their claim was that they were the "Big Store" in Rundle Street- Adelaide's major shopping precinct. They had business links with other major regional department store retailers (Sydney's Grace Brothers and Tasmania's FitzGerald's) with joint ownership of the "Intercontinental Buying Group". This was in an era when Australian department store retailing was largely state based. Also, John Martin's had significant shareholdings in other prominent South Australian companies.
Further east, part was pedestrianised in 1995 and de- pedestrianised in 2014. The east end (beyond York Road) has never been pedestrianised. There are also two indoor shopping centres in the town centre: the Grosvenor Centre, which was built in the 1970s, and Market Walk (previously Peacock Place), which was constructed in 1988. St James Retail Park is also a large shopping precinct just south of the town centre.

Following privatisation, the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive bus depot was demolished and replaced with a shopping precinct, complete with a supermarket and a pub. In the 1980s, the bus shelter was bought privately and converted to Sgt. Pepper's Bistro. It subsequently closed and remained out of commission until 2015, when it underwent refurbishment with the aim of reopening as a restaurant, although it was still not open as of April 2020.
The Sandringham Service Station, still operating in 2011, was first erected by Sydney Waring in 1929. After the Second World War, what little remained of the farmland was developed as state housing. Sandringham Village is a virtually intact example of an interwar suburban shopping precinct. As part of the Eden electorate, Sandringham became a no-licence area from 1909 until 2000, meaning that alcohol could not be sold.
However, Barnet's freestone pier detail has been compromised by the fitting of a disabled ramp and its handrail in recent years. It has a broad alleyway to its immediate north-east, with its north-east entry apparently designed to develop a diagonal reading, common in Federation composition. The corner location also gives the entrance more prominence.

Church Street Speculative private housing development began in the 1930s and by the 1960s surrounded the village with expansive suburban areas. In addition to the greenfield development of the 1960s, much of the village itself was redeveloped. This involved the creation of a shopping precinct in Leicester Street, which was the traditional heart of the village. Additionally, many of the chequered-pattern brick buildings were replaced by typical 1960s suburban houses.
Hillside Road becomes increasingly light industrial as it approaches South Dunedin, with automotive engineers, car sales yards, joineries, a rope factory, and a funeral parlour. One of Dunedin's largest industrial sites, the Hillside Railway Workshops, dominates the eastern end of Hillside Road, close to which lie other, smaller, industrial sites. Clevedon was served by a branch line from opened in 1847, six years after the main line itself, but closed in 1966. The station site is now Queen's Square, a shopping precinct. The town was headquarters also for the Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Light Railway, which connected the three named coastal towns. It opened to Weston-super-Mare in 1897, was extended to Portishead ten years later, but closed in 1940.
Today Kearsley has little industry, the one remaining mill is now a multi occupancy building housing retail and light engineering. There are three small industrial estates concerned mainly with the transport industry. They are the Europa Industrial Estate and the Fishbrook Industrial Estate on Stoneclough Road plus the Lion Industrial Estate on Moss Road. Argyle Street railway station is a station in the City Centre of Glasgow, Scotland, on the Argyle Line, which connects the North Clyde lines at Partick with Rutherglen in the south-east of the city. The station is located below the thoroughfare whose name it bears. It has a narrow and often crowded island platform. It serves the Argyle Street shopping precinct as well as the St Enoch Centre.
Narrabri Post Office is at 138-140 Maitland Street, corner Doyle Street, Narrabri, comprising the whole of Lot 21 DP775501. The Narrabri Post Office is a single storey brick building with a timber floor and corrugated iron roof. The original building is on a corner site at the intersection of Maitland and Doyle Streets, in the main shopping precinct. James Barnet was architect for the four-arched 1888 design.
About Inverloch Anderson Inlet Boating Area Anderson Inlet is classified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area. It supports internationally significant numbers (up to over 6,000 individuals) of red-necked stint. It has also been known to support the critically endangered orange-bellied parrot, with six birds seen there in 1998 and two in 1999. Seashell collecting is permitted from The Caves (beach) to north-east past the main shopping precinct.
Harpurhey is served by a number of bus services on the main Rochdale Road (A664) corridor, as well as non-radial services to and from Salford Shopping Precinct and Oldham. Services include First Greater Manchester 17, 18, 52, 53, 64, 162 and 163, and Stagecoach Manchester 112 and 118. Manchester Metrolink light rail tram system has two stations close to Harpurhey, at Monsall and Central Park (North Manchester Business Park), which also borders Newton Heath.
It was built in 2007 on the site of a former office block, and was Waitrose's first purpose-built retail outlet in northern England. Cheadle Hulme has a large variety of businesses serving the area. Station Road is home to the shopping precinct (built in 1962)Garratt, p.61 and contains among other businesses an Oxfam shop, an Asda supermarket, a hairdressing salon, an optician, a pharmacy, some clothing retailers and several restaurants.
Collaroy's shopping precinct is centred along Pittwater Road, which runs north-south through the suburb. The development destroyed part of the historic Go-tiau-kang area. As a consequence, the Zhongzheng Road district, previously the most popular shopping precinct in Tainan since Japanese rule, went into decline due to the poor quality of the environment. By the mid-1990s, there was a growing awareness of the need to protect Tainan's historical and cultural treasures. Since then, the government and civil societies have worked to protect Tainan's heritage.
Hope Island has a marina, shops, restaurants, theme parks, schools and three golf courses within close proximity. Hope Island is home to the upmarket Hope Island Resort and Sanctuary Cove. A German Messerschmitt bomber crashed into the Trap during World War II, shot down by anti-aircraft fire after going off course following a bombing run over Liverpool. The land is primarily heavy clay soil. Etna Park, which is just a short walk from the town centre, is part of the Heritage Trail walk in the area. Buckley has a shopping precinct, as well as three supermarkets, Aldi, Iceland and Home Bargains.
The Community, still re-establishing, has once again been displaced and dispersed after only 40 years. A central feature of Smith Street Mall is a pedestrian only strip between Knuckey Street and Bennett Street. As of 2004 there is now only one Primary school after the closure of St. Stephens Church of England Primary School. This is Warren Wood Primary School which was built in 1981 just a few hundred metres away from the shopping precinct on Turnstone Road. It serves as an active part of the community, providing local education to the pupils in the area and also holding public events and gatherings in the main hall and grounds.

Thomas received several commissions that are now public works of art, with permanent residency in major city centres. These include Hebe in Birmingham city centre (at ) and Aneurin Bevan in Cardiff. Business was hard during these years with the First World War underway and harsh economic conditions. The name White Swan was chosen from suggestions provided by local school children and reflects the swans found on the local lake. The White Swan Centre was built to house local services previously provided in demolished buildings that had been attached to the high-level shopping precinct.

Mowden was also previously home to Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Club. In late 2012, the Club sold their ground at Yiewsley Drive to a housing developer and relocated to The Darlington Arena, a 25,000 all-seater stadium which was previously owned by Darlington Football Club.
A bus station and tramlines were integrated into the centre from its opening Chermside Drive-In Shopping Centre (Now Westfield Chermside) was opened on 31 May 1957 by the then Premier of Queensland Vince Gair. Police were needed to keep an estimated 15,000 shoppers who had queued to secure bargains. It was marketed as the first suburban-style, post-war shopping precinct in the southern hemisphere. The shopping centre was air-conditioned and had a modern design.
Weipa Town Authority operates a public library at Hibberd Drive in Weipa. At Nanum the shopping precinct has a Woolworths supermarket, bakery, coffee shop, travel agent, clothing shop, post office, newsagency / sports shop and butchers. There is also a chemist, camping and fishing store and within walking distance is a gift shop, furniture and whitegoods store, credit union and government social security office. At Evans Landing there are a hardware store and a number of mechanical workshops.
Although some historians have speculated that the name is derived from the Scottish word 'burn', meaning 'stream', it is more popularly believed to be derived from a canvas toll bridge in the area, which was burnt down. The hotel was also known to locals as 'The Blazing Stump'. The shopping precinct serves residents from both sides of Maroondah Highway and from as far as Mount Dandenong Road. Burnt Bridge has a post office, pharmacy, supermarket, bakeries, cafe and takeaways.
Clevedon station was situated at what is now Queen's Square shopping precinct which was built in the 1980s. A set of points are preserved and mounted upright as a reminder of the square's history. Opened in 1847 it was originally a wooden structure but the single platform terminus was rebuilt in 1890. Clevedon had a signal box until the end of 1916, but from 1 January 1917 the branch was operated "under one engine in steam" arrangements.
Traffic on the A3024 Bitterne by-pass Bitterne is at the junction of the A334 and A3024 roads, providing easy access by road to the M27 motorway to the east and Southampton City Centre to the southwest. As a result, Bitterne is well served by a number of bus routes with operators including First Hampshire, BlueStar and Xelabus. Bitterne railway station is located roughly west of the shopping precinct and is on the West Coastway Line.
A small shopping precinct is situated adjacent to the A65 and Kirkstall Lane has become dilapidated in recent years soon to be rebuilt on with houses and shops. The centre has an independent discount supermarket, a private members' club and a bookmakers. The post office, the library and a public house have closed. The site is owned by Tesco who have now put it up for sale through Savills UK after cancelling plans for a new store.
The goods shed remained until recently, serving as an industrial unit though it has now been demolished. In the 1960s, the town centre underwent vast redevelopment which saw most of the older buildings demolished. The high street was pedestrianised and a shopping precinct (called "The Precinct") was developed, housing many new retail units as well as a new public library. The centre was refurbished in the late 1980s and placed undercover, being renamed The Cornbow Centre at this time.

Before the March 2020 Council elections, two former council finance staff had charges of fraud laid against them by the Crime and Corruption Commission, and the state government brought in financial and governance advisers. In July 2020 it was found that the council had an operational deficit of about out of a total budget of . It was feared that plans for a new shopping precinct, due to deliver much-needed business and job opportunities, would be affected.
It is located at the intersection of Rivadavia and Pueyrredón avenues, under the popular Plaza Miserere, in the neighborhood of Balvanera. The station zone is a shopping precinct and in its vicinity are the French Hospital and the Once railway station of the Sarmiento Railway. The joined Inala Plaza–Civic Centre complex located on the corner of Kittyhawk and Inala Avenues is the largest precinct in Inala. Other shops and restaurants exist on Biota Street located to the north, on Skylark Street to the east, and on the junction of Lavender and Lilac Streets.
The Parap Village Market is one of Darwin's longest running markets, and is considered by many as the ideal meeting place to meet or to have breakfast or light meals. This multi- cultural market place is well known for its diverse food styles, arts and crafts and its busy but relaxed atmosphere. Parap Markets encourage local arts and craftspeople. Situated in the Parap Village Shopping Precinct off Parap Road, the market operates every Saturday of the year between 8am - 2pm.
Some of the earliest buildings constructed in Canberra were the Sydney and Melbourne buildings which flank Northbourne Avenue. The buildings house many shops, bars and restaurants. The Canberra Centre, a three-storey shopping complex is Civic's main shopping precinct with a retail presence from the national chains David Jones, Myer, Big W and Target department stores. Nearby is Glebe Park, a picturesque park near the centre of the city with elm trees and oaks from early European settlement before the city was founded.

As part of the area's redevelopment under the East Manchester Regeneration Scheme, a new shopping precinct has been built called Lime Square. The majority of Lime Square is taken up by a Morrisons supermarket that was built in 2010, with The Range also in the same unit. It is also home to The Gym Group, McDonald's fast food restaurant, a doctors' surgery, several charity shops, a B & M, Greggs, Farmfoods, Savers, Poundland, Costa Coffee, and a Betfred bookmaker's, among others.
St Albans is a suburb north-west of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located within the City of Brimbank local government area. St Albans recorded a population of 37,309 at the 2016 Census. St Albans' main commercial and shopping precinct is located on Main Road West, Main Road East, Alfrieda Street, the railway station and East Esplanade. It has become a very multicultural area with 53.5% of residents being born overseas and has a high proportion of non-English speaking background residents.
Major features of Birkdale are a railway station, a canal style housing development known as Aquatic Paradise, a significant shopping precinct located near Aquatic Paradise and a retirement village known as Wellington Manor. It is also home to one of the Redlands Waste Transfer Stations (), which (as of July 2012) is provided to the residents of the city free of charge. Tourism is an important industry for the town, and the information centre is a good source of advice about accommodation, activities, wineries and where to eat. There are numerous options for accommodation, from casual B&Bs; to a five-star hotel. A small number of wineries and specialist tour operators offer vineyard tours, while there are many dining opportunities at wineries, or at the cafés and restaurants dotted around the attractive village square. A vibrant shopping precinct exists with boutique shops.
The council chose Gibson's more radical plan, which included the ring road. Priority was given initially to building the shopping precinct and central plaza, but detailed planning began in 1955, the council deciding to build the road in six stages. In 1959 the first section of the road was built, linking London Road and St Patrick's Road in the south east of the city centre. This was followed in 1961 by stage two, Bishop Street to Hill Street, in the north west.
Boer War Memorial, Winsford The Boer War Memorial stands in the shopping precinct of Winsford, Cheshire, England. It consists of the statue of a soldier in uniform standing on a plinth, and it was unveiled in 1906. It originally stood on a different site in the town and was moved to its present position in the 1960s. In addition to recording the names of those who were lost in the conflict, it also contains the names of those who survived.
The site of the goods yard is now developed with a shopping precinct and car park to the north of the station and a housing estate to the south-east of the station. The closed lines to Hailsham and Pevensey are still evident. The trackbed of the branch to Heathfield is now a cycle path – Cuckoo Trail – beginning at the north end of the town. The trackbed to Pevensey is mostly intact with the A22 road cutting through the route.

It hosts around 70 stores. Whereas most of the central shopping area of Chester consists of historic streets, The Mall provides undercover shopping to complement the wide range of shops in other locations around the city. It consists of some Edwardian buildings with modern covered shopping malls.
Of the suburbs on Pine Hill, Dalmore is the oldest and also the southernmost, lying close to The Gardens,New Zealand Automobile Association. Greater Dunedin and Invercargill Street Directory, 1998 edition. a suburb and shopping precinct at the mouth of North East Valley close to the Dunedin Botanic Gardens for which it is named. Dalmore lies on the steep slopes immediately to the northwest of The Gardens and north of the northern end of George Street, arguably the city's main street.
However, a recent renovation has attracted stores such as New Look, Peacocks and WHSmith to open branches. The town centre of Abingdon was renovated in 2012 as part of the council's redevelopment plan, with the 1970s shopping precinct converted to look more modern. The roads around the area have been changed: notably the one-way system around the centre has been partially changed to two-way. While this has slightly reduced traffic within the historic town centre, congestion has greatly increased elsewhere.
Middleton has recently benefited from redevelopments which have seen the construction of a new sports, leisure and civic centre, 'Middleton Arena'. A large new Tesco supermarket has also just been opened in the town centre. In the early 1970s, The Arndale Property Trust cleared land adjacent to Middleton Gardens to build an 'American-style' modern shopping precinct. The Middleton Arndale Centre commenced trading in 1971, although it was officially opened by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Kent in March 1972.
Avenue Mohammed VI contains what is claimed to be Africa's largest nightclub: Pacha Marrakech, a trendy club that plays house and electro house music. It also has two large cinema complexes, Le Colisée à Gueliz and Cinéma Rif, and a new shopping precinct, Al Mazar. Gueliz district in Marrakech Menara Mall, opened in 2015 Trade and crafts are extremely important to the local tourism-fueled economy. There are 18 souks in Marrakesh, employing over 40,000 people in pottery, copperware, leather and other crafts.
The Simpson Army Barracks, Yallambie was originally known as the Watsonia Military Camp during World War II. This complex was built on the property formerly owned by Ainslie Meares. In 1951, surrounding land was purchased for the extension of the barracks. Watsonia is also the home to Watsonia Primary School, Greensborough College and Loyola College. Watsonia Library is a bright, modern, well-equipped community library located in Watsonia’s shopping precinct with ample parking and adjacent to the Watsonia train station.
The central commercial area of Mawson Lakes, situated between Main Street and Garden Terrace, and north of the Promenade is the central shopping precinct with a Hotel, Woolworths, ALDI, and a number of smaller shops and restaurants. Main Street and its side roads are also home to Bank branches, various professional services, and a number of offices. In recent years, many offices have been converted into apartments due to the proximity of the university and a glut of office space.
Other urban districts in Canberra have names for their central suburbs - or town centre suburbs - that are different from the district's name: Phillip in Woden Valley, Greenway in Tuggeranong, and Weston in Weston Creek; Civic, or City, is considered the centre of North Canberra (and Canberra as a whole), while no one suburb is readily identifiable as South Canberra's centre, although Manuka - a shopping precinct in the suburbs of Griffith and Forrest, Forrest - may be considered by many to be that district's centre.
He often played in Adelaide, and became renowned locally for the large crowds of many hundreds as he entertained in the central shopping precinct, Rundle Mall, which had recently been closed to traffic."Nicholas is energetic, wicked and talented. The Advertiser (Adelaide) In 1982, he studied mime in Adelaide with Zora Semberova, to whom he attributes his success, and circus skills at San Francisco's Hayward College and performed regularly at Pier 39.
On 31 January 2018, Marks & Spencer announced the closure of their store, in the town centre of Birkenhead, happening in April. During the 1970s, the commercial centre of the town was redeveloped around the principal shopping area of Grange Road. Following two fires at the expanded Birkenhead Market in 1969 and 1974, it was moved to new premises adjoining the Grange Shopping Precinct development in 1977. Commercial expansion continued in the early 1990s when the Pyramids Shopping Centre was opened.
Shopping facilities are located along the main street which runs through the town (part of the A140 road), as well as in two small shopping centres (South Norfolk Shopping Precinct and The Icehouse Precinct – so called because it was built adjacent to the Victorian icehouse belonging to Long Stratton Manor). A coop supermarket is located in the centre of the town (see right). In August 2015, a Subway sandwich shop opened inside the supermarket. There are also two public houses (The Queen's Head and The Swan).
Wattle Hill is a north-western suburb of Leeton, New South Wales. Wattle Hill was developed in the 1970s and 80's as a joint venture between Leeton Shire Council and the New South Wales Department of Housing. Wattle Hill has a large concentration of housing department homes particularly on Gossamer, Wirilda and Blackwood Streets. The rest of the suburb has private residences, a small shopping precinct and three parks, one of which has a large water tower that supplies water to Wattle Hill and Wamoon.
This campus is run by Aspire Institute, ICMS’s pathway provider. Brilliantly located campus overlooking the harbour on East Esplanade in Manly. This campus is in the heart of Manly village, well known for its shopping precinct, cafés, restaurants and beachside lifestyle and is located 200m from the ferry and bus stop. Aspire students have full access to all the facilities enjoyed by students of the ICMS Northern Beaches Campus, the ‘castle on the hill’, including a free shuttle bus which runs between the two campuses.
Restaurants on Liverpool Road The main shopping precinct is located along Liverpool Road south of Ashfield railway station. Along this strip, there are a few medium-sized office blocks, many street-level shops and Ashfield Mall, a shopping centre containing supermarkets, a discount department store and specialty shops. This commercial area also extends into Charlotte Street and Elizabeth Street on the northern side of the station. A second commercial precinct is located along Parramatta Road consisting mostly of automotive-related retail and light industry.
The pub was designed by the Reids in response to changing social changes following World War II, where segregated bars in pubs were becoming rejected and unfashionable. It has a distinctive ratchet-wheel design covering a single-space bar area, and connects to the local shopping precinct. The interior features various triangular segments called "snugs" or "lounges" overlooking a central circular seating area with a central chimney. It was redesigned in 1989 to include additional space and a function room in what was previously a storage area.
Dukinfield's town hall provides some limited civic facilities, including a police station and registry office, with the majority of local administration being based at Tameside Council headquarters, in Ashton-under-Lyne. Dukinfield Crematorium Interior Dukinfield Crematorium External View Dukinfield has a public library which is situated in Concord Way, as part of a small shopping precinct. Morrisons have a supermarket in the town. The old library was situated on Town Lane on land donated by the Astley family who donated money towards the building.
It also placed it near Auckland's oldest street, Karangahape Road, which by the 1880s was a thriving thoroughfare and shopping precinct for both Māori and Pākehā. The road was a traditional walking track along the ridge from Ōwairaka (Mt Albert) to Ōrākei for Ngāti Whātua. The official municipal burial ground; the Symonds Street Cemetery was also nearby, on the corner of K’Road and Symonds Street. The new church building was dedicated in 1894, without the corner tower and steeple that were part of Skinner’s design.
Droitwich shopping is mainly focused in the traditional town centre around Victoria Square, leading to the St Andrew's Square shopping centre and down to the original High Street, with its local pubs and an eclectic mix of traditional shops. Farmers' markets are also held regularly in Victoria Square. In the central St Andrew's Square shopping precinct are several chain stores. On 14 July 2005, Waitrose opened a new supermarket in the grounds of the old covered market, directly behind the heavily-subsided High Street.
In the UK, Chrisp Street Market was the first pedestrian shopping area built with a road at the shop fronts. The first mall- type shopping precinct in Great Britain was built in the downtown area of Birmingham. Known as Bull Ring Centre (now Bull Ring, Birmingham), it was officially dedicated in May 1964. A notable example is the Halton Lea Shopping Centre (originally known as Shopping City) in Runcorn, which opened in 1972 and was conceived as the center point for the new town's development.
Howey Place Howey Place, formerly known as "Cole's Walk" is a shopping arcade. The short, narrow covered laneway, running south from Little Collins Street between Swanston Street and Elizabeth Street. Located in the heart of the shopping precinct, Howey Place is currently flanked with small designer fashion shops. It joins with the Sportsgirl Centre, a shopping mall at 234 Collins Street which runs through to Collins Street, as well forming an "L" shape toward the back of the Capitol Arcade which connects it with Swanston Street.
McKillop Street McKillop Street is a short, quiet and narrow open laneway, running between Bourke Street and Little Collins Street between Queen Street and Elizabeth Street in the central business district of Melbourne. Located between the financial centre and shopping precinct, McKillop Street is currently flanked by some small boutique shops and outdoor dining cafes. The lane is paved with red brick, has several trees and heritage style lampposts along it and restricted access to cars. There are some heritage buildings converted into apartments along the street.
In the early 1960s the south-east quadrant, including Carston Mews, was demolished to make way for Leegate shopping centre. This declined following the opening of Sainsbury's on the opposite side of Burnt Ash Road in the late 1980s. Owners of the centre, St. Modwen Properties have recently proposed a £40m regeneration plan for the centre, including the demolition of the current shopping precinct to be replaced with an Asda supermarket as well as the conversion of the existing office block into a hotel.
Glen Osmond Road is a major section of the Princes Highway and state Highway 1 in the city of Adelaide, South Australia. Connecting the Adelaide city centre with the Adelaide Hills via the South Eastern Freeway; Glen Osmond Road carries half of Adelaide's freight traffic and is the major commuter route from the southern Adelaide Hills. It has intersections at Greenhill Road, Fullarton Road, Cross Road and Portrush Road. Glen Osmond Road houses a strip shopping precinct on the section between Greenhill and Fullarton Roads.
Bourke Street is one of the main streets in the Melbourne central business district and a core feature of the Hoddle Grid. It was traditionally the entertainment hub of inner-city Melbourne, and is now also a popular tourist destination and tram thoroughfare. During the Marvellous Melbourne era, Bourke Street was the location of many of the city's theatres and cinemas. Today it continues as a major retail shopping precinct with the Bourke Street Mall running between Elizabeth and Swanston Streets, numerous offices to the west end and restaurants to the east.
Burpengary has been a predominantly blue-collar suburb with a significant proportion of the population directly employed in a labouring or trade-related jobs. However, with expanding planned communities, easy access to the M1 and council approving plans for mini city initiatives, more and more families are moving to the locality including those in the professions. This is fuelling economic growth with the expansion of the shopping precinct, local services and increasing pressure on the local transport infrastructure since 2005. In the , the population of Burpengary was 14,022, with 51% females and 49% males.
St. John shares borders with St Mary on its west, Trinity to the east, and St Lawrence and Saint Helier on its south. cup marks, and may have been brought from a nearby dolmen now vanished Largely a rural community, the namwsake has a small shopping precinct, and village pub, around its parish church, with the primary school and parish hall across the main road. There is also a supermarket and recreation centre to the east of the village. There is also a second village of Sion in the Southwestern panhandle of the parish.
This provided logistical challenges, and after Malaysia Independence in 1957, Bukit Terendak close to Malacca was chosen as the new home for the Brigade. Terendak would house the entire brigade with its infantry battalions and support units, military hospital, airstrip, married quarters areas and shopping precinct. Terendak was of substantial size and covered several square miles with its southwestern border being the Straits of Malacca Construction and occupation of Terendak was completed by August 1962, with the Brigade in place in its entirety. This brought all units of the Brigade together and under one roof.
Bay Street, Brighton-Le-Sands Novotel Hotel. The main shopping precinct is located along Bay Street and extends to the foreshore on The Grand Parade and down a short length of Moate Avenue. The landmark Novotel Hotel Brighton Beach, located on north-western corner of the intersection of Bay Street and The Grand Parade, also contains a significant amount of commercial and retail space. Many cafés and restaurants are located along The Grand Parade and Bay Street, covering many types of cuisine: Australian, Greek, French, European, Italian, Thai and Japanese.
Avenue Mohammed VI The Avenue Mohammed VI, formerly Avenue de France, is the major city thoroughfare of Marrakesh, Morocco. It is named after the King, Mohamed VI. It has seen rapid development of residential complexes and many luxury hotels. Avenue Mohammed VI contains what is claimed to be the largest nightclub of Africa, Pacha Marrakech, a trendy club attracting young people and clubbers, featuring house and electro music. It also has two large cinema complexes, Le Colisée à Gueliz and Cinéma Rif, and the new shopping precinct, Al Mazar.
So presided over a number of major developments throughout his second term. The most significant of these include the refurbishment of the city's key shopping complex, Melbourne Central Shopping Centre; construction of the Council's second building, Council House 2, the first Six Green Star rating building in Australia; development, in partnership with the State Government, of the New Convention Centre; and refurbishment of Melbourne's key shopping precinct Bourke Street Mall. During So's term, the Council also regained from the State Government jurisdiction over Melbourne's new waterfront, Melbourne Docklands.

Queen St, named after Queen Victoria, led onto the 1920s Mangere Bridge and thence to the suburb of the same name. This was one of the main land routes south out of Auckland and the usual route to the airport until the motorway and regional road system in the 1970s diverted the through traffic away from the Onehunga and Mangere Bridge. In 1973, Queen St was closed to through traffic, and on 2 April 1973 was renamed Onehunga Mall and reopened as a pedestrian shopping precinct. In 1996, Onehunga Mall was reopened to traffic.
The school is a former secondary modern school (pupils who passed the 11-plus would have most likely attended Tadcaster Grammar School). The school was originally on Crossley Street, but once these premises had become too small for the school, the new site was built in 1966 - the notable feature being a tower block overlooking the car park of The Horsefair Centre; the town's shopping precinct. Crossley Street Primary School now occupies the Victorian buildings of the former secondary modern school. The school's 2009 Ofsted report rated the school as Grade2 (Good).
The car park was commissioned as part of the redevelopment of the established market square in Gateshead town centre, and hence was sometimes referred to as the Inner Market Car Park. However the landscaping ultimately created an exposed and unattractive shopping precinct on two levels with poor access. While construction of the car park was in progress subsidence was noticed due to mine workings, but this was overcome. At the same time nearby Newcastle upon Tyne had begun the covered Eldon Square Shopping Centre and this further undermined the long-term success of the development.
The pool was often used for spectator events with seating for over 800 people. Sharston once had its own shopping parade, built in the 1930s on Altrincham Road (next to the junction of Mullacre Road), but this was demolished in early 1973 when the M56 motorway Sharston bypass was built through the area (where the M56 connects to the nearby southern section of the M60 motorway). A new shopping precinct was built directly behind the swimming baths on Sharston Green to replace the soon-to-be demolished shops on Altrincham Road.
Craigieburn Central, located on the corner of Aitken Boulevard and Craigieburn Road, serves as the area's major retail precinct and first opened for trade in October 2013. Tenants in this centre include Big W and Target discount department stores, Woolworths and Coles supermarkets, United Cinemas and approximately 160 specialty stores. Stockland completed the construction of the Highlands Shopping Centre on the corner of Aitken and Grand Boulevards (Highlands Estate) in November 2011. This shopping precinct includes a Woolworths Supermarket, Jetts Fitness, Cafe, Pharmacy, Butchery, Subway and other specialty shops.
The main shopping street of Mildura is Langtree Avenue, which features a pedestrian mall and shopping centre. However, this shopping precinct competes with the Mildura Central Shopping Centre, located at the opposite end of the urban area on the corner of Fifteenth Street and Deakin Avenue. Fifteenth Street is also the main strip of big box stores and other commercial enterprises. The tallest buildings are the two-storey 1934 Old Mildura Base Hospital, two-storey Marina Dockside apartments completed in 2010 and the three-storey tower/spire of the 1920s T&G; building.
The main shopping facilities in Baldivis are located in the area known as the Baldivis Town Centre, on Settlers Avenue, and includes the Baldivis Shopping Centre (opened in mid-2007) owned by Stockland. Extensions completed in 2015 expanded the existing Shopping Centre (which already housed a Coles) to include a Food Court/Restaurant precinct, increased car park numbers, a Kmart and a Woolworths. In 2017, another shopping precinct, Baldivis Square, opened on Makybe Drive next to Makybe Rise Primary School. Baldivis Square includes a mix of retail, food and professional offices, anchored by an IGA.
The Heathmont Shopping Centre provides services to the suburb. It includes a handful of cafes (including modern inner-city-style The Village Food Store, Chapter Too and Milk + Wine Bar), a Bendigo Bank, an IGA Supermarket, two butcher shops (one organic), two bakeries (including a Bakers Delight), a newsagent, takeaway shops, multiple hair dressers, a post office and 3 massage parlors. There is plenty of parking and the main shopping precinct is opposite the Heathmont railway station. The distant Mount Dandenong and Dandenong Ranges are visible from much of this shopping strip.
Turnberry Avenue runs through the centre of Ardler from Dalmahoy Drive in the west towards Macalpine Road in the east. This is the area which was earmarked for the shopping precinct and the Community Centre – built right in the centre of the scheme, with the clinic, schools and church – in what could be seen as an attempt to help create a community spirit. The original Community Centre was located a few yards to the east of Blackshade Primary School. This was previously the Iona Street shops, which were knocked through to form the centre.
The shopping precinct at that time had amongst its businesses three grocers, two butchers, two bakers, two drapers, two boot repairers, one fancy goods shop, one barber, one wine saloon, one hotel, one iron mongery, three blacksmiths and several boarding houses, as well as a coffee salon. The Jumbunna General Store opened in 1893 and closed in 1976. (The Store building now has Category 1 heritage listing with the South Gippsland Shire Council.) There was also a school, at first using the Jumbunna Hall, which started in 1894.
Drouin Central Drouin's large retail stores include a Woolworths supermarket and a Coles supermarket. Other businesses in the town include fast food businesses, hairdressers, restaurants, Tattersall's, and Westpac Bank. Several of the local businesses have relocated in recent times from the southern side of the shopping precinct on Princes Way (next to the railway station), due to land acquisition for the construction of a multistory retail shopping complex. Abbey's Cafe closed down, and the long- standing Drouin Cycles moved to a location on the other side of Princes Way.
BBC CWR (formerly BBC Coventry & Warwickshire) is the BBC Local Radio service serving the City of Coventry and the county of Warwickshire. The station broadcasts on 94.8, 103.7 and 104 MHz FM, DAB Digital Radio and is streamed on the internet via the BBC Website and BBC Sounds. Based in the Priory Place Shopping Precinct at the heart of Coventry City Centre, its studio complex is home to radio, online services, an interactive open centre and facilities for regional TV news. It is also the only Coventry local radio station based in the city itself.
Merseyway in 2010 Merseyway Shopping Centre is a shopping precinct in Stockport, England. Opened in 1965, and extensively refurbished in the 1990s, it is a large pedestrianised area built on stilts over the River Mersey with two levels of walkways giving access to the retail units. Merseyway is mostly an open air precinct, although the western end near Mersey Square was given a canopy in the 1990s and is now a small enclosed mall. The developers Hammerson owned the centre until 2003 when they sold the leasehold to property company Stockport Holdings Ltd.
Jenkinson committed the council to that decision by selling the site in Fortitude Valley to the Catholic Church for the construction of the Holy Name Cathedral (a project that, although commenced, made little progress and was eventually abandoned). From the early 1900s through to the 1960s, the thriving shopping precinct was dominated by McWhirters, Beirne's and, later, Overells' department stores. The Overells Building was completed in 1907. They were ultimately bought out by the Myer, David Jones and Waltons chains respectively with Overells being bought by Walton in 1956.
The only remaining ATM/cash machine was located outside the Post Office on the New Chester Road. Following a campaign during the summer of 2016 by the small, independent businesses, two separate, independent ATM companies have provided cash machines in the main central shopping area that do not charge customers cash withdrawal fees. At 9:15 pm on 25 March 2017 there was an explosion destroying the large building at the junction of the shopping precinct with Boundary Road. 81 people were injured on the night, two of them seriously.
In the 1880s most commercial activities were centred on the Corso with many families living above their businesses. Entertainment was added including an Aquarium and later, 'Sovereign' Smith's Gallery of Amusements. The first large general store White Brothers opened in 1907 and later became Campbell's General Merchants, a Corso landmark for many years. By the 1920s the Corso was the main shopping precinct of the Northern Beaches. The Rialto Theatre opened on 23 July 1923 and was renamed to Odeon on 3 March 1951 operated until its closure on 28 January 1961.
There is a small selection of shops in Brandlesholme Shopping Precinct, known locally as the 'Top Shops'. They include a Tesco Express convenience store, a sandwich takeaway and bakery, hairdresser's, chemist's, English fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, pizza parlour, florist and an off licence. A newsagents, Welcome Newsagents, is located further south next to Woodbank School. Brandlesholme has the Prospect Service Station, which houses a Spar convenience store and a Subway branch to the south and also the Brandlesholme Service Station to the north which borders with Greenmount.
Hopping Hill Primary School is another community primary school, situated on Pendle Road close to the Duston Library and Limehurst Square shopping precinct. Chiltern Primary School is positioned on the north-east of the area on Chiltern Way. The St Luke's CEVA Primary School, while connected to the St Luke's church on Main Road, is actually located outside of Duston and instead in the neighbouring St Crispin area. There is one all-through school in the civil parish, The Duston School, located towards the south- western end on Berrywood Road.
Looking south toward the city centre Knox Church George Street is an interesting mix of different types of property. The southern kilometre is taken up by Dunedin's CBD, with the city's civic centre and library occupying much of the first block (the majority of blocks are 200 metres long). In early 2018, Barnes Dance crossings were introduced at either end of this block, at George Street's intersections with The Octagon and Moray Place. Beyond this is a major shopping precinct, including Dunedin's largest shopping mall, the Meridian Mall.
The Knoll Lookout, 2012 Tamborine Mountain attracts many tourists to "Gallery Walk" along Long Road, a street devoted to art galleries, cafes and souvenir shops. Other tourism-heavy areas include Main Street, two one-way roads with cafes, library, fuel, hardware stores, newsagent, the Zamia Theatre, various other shops, and the Tamborine Showground Markets, held every second Sunday of the month. A new major shopping precinct contains more of the above, and a SupaIGA supermarket. The Glow-Worm Caves are a man-made attraction which opened to visitors in March 2006.
The Bunyip shopping precinct consists of a wide variety of businesses. These include a post office, chemist, hair dressers, Fast food shops, grocery stores, accountants and real estate agents, a bakery, a newsagent, Commonwealth and Bendigo banks, hardware and timber merchants, Lawn mower outlet, a veterinarian and two pubs (known locally as the Top Pub and the Bottom Pub due to their position on the sloping main street). In 2007 the Foodworks franchise came to the town when it opened a large supermarket. Bunyip has an "opportunity shop", with proceeds donated to local organisations.
Hamilton Post Office is at 57 Gray Street, Hamilton, comprising the whole of Lot 2 LP222082. Hamilton Post Office is similar in size to the Castlemaine Post Office and those at Warrnambool and Echuca, and most of the current building dates from the same period. It is located at the southern edge of the main shopping precinct in Gray Street, the principal commercial street. The original building is constructed to the eastern (street) boundary of the deep rectangular site and the rear yard is largely covered by freestanding and interconnected sheds and amenities blocks.
1976 view of the Whitgift Centre The centre was designed by Anthony Minoprio and built between 1965 and 1970 by Fitzroy Robinson & Partners. Commenting in 1971, architectural historians Ian Nairn and Nikolaus Pevsner stated that "most of the architectural details are banal, but the centre functions unusually well as a shopping precinct". In the first two decades of its existence, the Whitgift Centre had no roof and was open to the elements. The first shop to open was Boots on 17 October 1968, and the centre itself was officially opened in October 1970 by the Duchess of Kent.
Such traffic-free shopping precinct was the first in Europe, and was seen as a "truly pioneering design" in its day.Rare footage of the Queen’s first visit, BBC Coventry and Warwickshire, 30 March 2006, accessed 6 October 2011. In addition, Gibson was responsible for the first rooftop parking plus the development of a civic theatre (the Belgrade Theatre) and the circular market. The Gibson plan saw extensive consultation with local people, with the "proposals and suggestions for the physical reconstruction and planning of the City of Coventry" set out in a book entitled The Future Coventry, published by the Corporation of Coventry.
This conquest is also celebrated in the name of a pub in Warners End – the 'Top of the World'. Riverside, extension to the Marlowes shopping precinct opened 2005 The redevelopment of the town centre was started in 1952, with a new centre based on Marlowes south of the old town. This was alongside a green area called the Water Gardens, designed by Jellicoe, formed by ponding back the River Gade. The old centre of the High Street was to remain largely undeveloped, though the market square closed and was replaced by a much larger one in the new centre.
The ruins of the old Coventry Cathedral, the most visible modern-day reminder of the Blitz Immediate reconstruction was undertaken by a committee headed by motor-industry magnate William Rootes. In the aftermath of the war, Coventry city centre was extensively rebuilt according to the Gibson Plan compiled by the town planner Donald Gibson: a then innovative scheme which created a pedestrianised shopping precinct. Coventry Cathedral was left as a ruin, and is today still the principal reminder of the bombing. A new cathedral was constructed alongside the ruin in the 1950s, designed by the architect Basil Spence.
The centre was originally developed between 1959 and 1965, as part of a large development for insurance company Commercial Union. It took the name of a street on the site, which was named after the Martineau family, a family that included several Lord Mayors of Birmingham. The original development was designed by J. Seymour Harris & Partners, and was the first slab-and-podium in the commercial centre of the city. A fourteen- storey office tower in the style of the Pirelli Tower in Milan, with tapered ends and a rooftop arcade, sits above the shopping precinct, restaurants and covered parking.
The £5 million Fargo Village creative quarter shopping precinct was open in 2014 on Far Gosford Street with a mixture of retail units. About from the city centre and just outside Coventry in Baginton is the Lunt Fort, a reconstructed Roman fort on its original site. The Midland Air Museum is situated just within the perimeter of Coventry on land adjacent to Coventry Airport and near Baginton. Coventry was one of the main centres of watchmaking during the 18th and 19th centuries and as the industry declined, the skilled workers were key to setting up the cycle trade.
Daveys Bay was named after James Davey who constructed a jetty in the 1840s to ship his produce to Melbourne. In 1909 the Daveys Bay Yacht Club was established, and winds its way to a walking track overlooking Mt Eliza Beach on the shores of Canadian Bay, which was named after three Canadians who owned a sawmill in the area in the 1950s. In 1928, the independent girls school Toorak College was built and is one of the oldest independent girls schools in Victoria. By the 1950s the shopping precinct began to develop and by the 1960s was a well established shopping village.
Berwick has its own large retailers, including a Woolworths supermarket (Berwick Central), 3 Coles supermarkets (Parkhill Plaza, Eden Rise and Berwick Central) and an Aldi (Eden Rise). Many small shops and businesses are also situated along the shopping precinct on old Princes Highway (Main street of Berwick village). These shops include a selection of restaurants, cafés, and other services including a library, post office & Optometrist (Berwick Optical Centre) which opened in 1979 and is still located in Loveridge Walk. Further south on Clyde Rd is the Eden Rise Shopping Centre which is the largest shopping complex within Berwick.
During October and November 2014 a McDonald's store was being constructed on a section of the car park fronting Hall Road. The Local Village @ Carrum Downs is located on the Dandenong- Frankston Road and comprises approximately 12 shops including an IGA supermarket, restaurant, bakery, fast food shops, doctors office and pharmacy. Directly opposite the precinct is another small retail / business park. The third shopping precinct which opened in 2008 and remains partially vacant, is located on the corner of McCormicks Road and Ballarto Road in the south of the suburb and includes 22 specialty shops as well as a Coles supermarket.
Cronulla Post Office is at 41 Cronulla Street, Cronulla, located on part of lots 12 and 13 in DP 5709. Cronulla Street is the main shopping precinct in the original suburban development of Cronulla, with the Cronulla railway station nearby and the main beaches to the immediate east. Cronulla Street has been turned into a mall outside the post office, which sits on a deep allotment. The post office and quarters open onto Cronulla Street at the front, and a back yard area contains timber and metal-clad outbuildings/additions of more recent origin including a former bicycle storage shed.
Also, some clothing stores from the Fashion Walk precinct moved to the Myer mall such as, Factorie, Cotton On, Just Jeans and Jayjays. Stores such as Autograph, Victoria Station, Suzannegrae and Shoex would replace the relocated stores in the Fashion Walk. Timezone opened on the second floor outside Myer and over 1000 new parking spaces were open upon the completion of the new shopping precinct. Kmart would also undergo renovations the following month, it included a new layout where cash registers moved to the centre of the store, expanded range of goods and increased capacity for fitting rooms.
The pair presented their competing visions in February 1941, and the council decided to adopt Gibson's. Gibson continued to develop his plan throughout the war, releasing an updated version in October 1945, after the end of hostilities, at an exhibition titled "Coventry of the Future". The council started work on the project in 1946, laying a commemorative stone on the future site of the shopping precinct and beginning the work to convert Broadgate into a green central square. This first phase of work was opened in 1948 by the future Queen Elizabeth II, with a statue of Lady Godiva added a year later.

Sale's shopping centre was redeveloped during the 1960s, as part of the town's post-war regeneration. The river receives sewage and wastewater from surrounding pipes.
Although designed to carry out a basic industrial process, the flour mill is carefully detailed and ornamented and is important in exhibiting aesthetic characteristics valued by the community. It is part of the historic shopping precinct known as "Top of Town" and makes an important contribution to the streetscape. The place has a special association with the life or work of a particular person, group or organisation of importance in Queensland's history. The flour mill is associated with politician Francis Kates and his son Francis Henry Kates, and with the development of the family's milling enterprises.
Causeway Lane Causeway Lane (also known as The Causeway) is a short, quiet and narrow open laneway, running between Bourke Street Mall and Little Collins Street between Elizabeth Street and Swanston Street. Located in the heart of the shopping precinct, the Causeway is currently flanked by some small boutique shops, indoor and outdoor cafes and sushi bars. The lane is notable for the heritage listed former Union Bank a tall curved palazzo styled building constructed in the 1920s which has a mezzanine entrance at the corner of the lane. The building is now occupied by Laurent, an upmarket French patisserie.
View of the Grand Chancellor from Cashel Street just minutes after the 2011 Christchurch earthquake occurred The Hotel Grand Chancellor was a major four star hotel in the centre of Christchurch in New Zealand, one of eleven Hotel Grand Chancellor establishments across Australia and New Zealand. The hotel was located at 161 Cashel Street, close to the city's City Mall central shopping precinct. For a long time, it was the city's tallest building at and 26 storeys, but was overtaken in 2009 by the tall Pacific Tower. The building was built in 1986 for office use by Forbes Construction.
As the lease that the Powis brothers took out was only for 22 years, the land was not profitable for development and, apart from the road, very little happened until 1799, when a 99-year development lease was signed. Plans were made to fill in the entire area of 43 acres with streets and houses. In fact, work had already started in 1798. In less than 30 years the project would be completed, presenting Woolwich with a municipal precinct, the area now known as Bathway Quarter, and a new shopping precinct, the Powis and Hare Street area.
An opportunity arose with the development of Skopje's Zebra Centre, a modern development incorporating a hotel, shopping precinct, offices, restaurants, and a multi-storey car park. Through careful negotiation and extensive fund-raising it became possible to construct an entire additional wing of the Zebra Centre as a Grand Lodge building, to be owned outright by the GLM. This building, which covers four storeys, includes a large masonic temple, administrative offices and board rooms, changing rooms, a masonic museum, a dining room and kitchens, and a masonic club open daily to members. The facility opened in 2012.

An indoor shopping mall was developed adjacent to the south end of the Marlowe's retail area in 1990, and in 2005 the Riverside development designed by Bernard Engle Architects was opened, effectively extending the main shopping precinct towards the Plough Roundabout. The new centre includes several outlets for national retailers including Debenhams, Starbucks, Waterstones and others. These two developments have moved the ’centre of gravity’ of the retail centre away from the north end of Marlowe's has become an area for secondary outlets. Further extensive redevelopment of the northern end of Marlowes was also given the green light in 2007 and has now been completed.
Corby has an Urban Regeneration Company - North Northants Development Company, which now covers the whole of North Northamptonshire rather than just Corby (it was previously known as Catalyst Corby). The company is working closely with Corby Borough Council, Land Securities (town centre owners), the East Midlands Development Agency and the Homes and Communities Agency to regenerate the town centre as part of the masterplan for the whole town. The population of Corby town is expected to double in the next 30 years through housing on large estates such as Prior's Hall, Little Stanion, Oakley Vale and Great Oakley. In October 2007 Corby's new shopping precinct, Willow Place, opened.
The plaque was on the pavement outside the Marks & Spencer store in the main shopping precinct. However, suffering wear and tear, the local authority arranged for it to be mounted to the façade. In 1955 Sainsbury's opened a store in Lewisham which was reported to be Europe's largest self-service supermarket, with 7,500 square feet of retail space, although the one now incorporated in the 1977 shopping centre is much smaller. The area at the north end of the High Street was pedestrianised in 1994. It is home to a daily street market and a local landmark, the clock tower, completed in 1900 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
The Pheasant pub in Brickhill There are two parades of shops in the area at which most local businesses are located. The first is found on Brickhill Drive which has a newsagent, a small Nisa supermarket, a Lloyds Pharmacy, a beauty salon, a Tesco Express store, a garage & car wash, a betting shop and a barber's shop. The second shopping precinct is located on Avon Drive and consists of a small One Stop supermarket, a newsagent & post office, a fish & chip shop, a florists, a Coral betting shop, a garage, a pub called The Tiger Moth, and an Elderly Persons Home called 'Highfield'. Further along Brickhill Drive is The Pilgrim Centre.

It is a short, narrow covered laneway, running south from Little Collins Street between Swanston Street and Elizabeth Street in the central business district of Melbourne. Located in the heart of the shopping precinct, Howey Place is currently flanked with small designer fashion shops. It joins with the Collins234 Boutique Place,Collins234 Boutique Place a shopping mall at 234 Collins Street which runs through to Collins Street, as well forming an "L" shape toward the back of the Capitol Arcade which connects it with Swanston Street.
The A$750 million expansion within the RAAF Base Edinburgh, including facilities for 7th RAR (Mechanized Army Battalion), was largely completed in 2011. the council has been involved in discussions regarding expansion of the Elizabeth City Centre (the major shopping precinct in Playford) on to of land to the west of the train line. the Playford council is working with the South Australian government to release of industrial land in the greater Edinburgh Parks region, with the intention of attracting and supporting 38,000 jobs in the northern part of Adelaide. (press release) In 2011, Mayor Docherty stated he aimed to make Elizabeth the second central business district of Adelaide.
It had become rundown in the 1980s, but a new supermarket, and many trendy cafes have made the area much more liveable; as a result, house prices have increased dramatically. "Burgundy Street" is now known as Heidelberg Central Shopping Precinct and has over 230 retail/commercial and professional businesses. Over $1 million has been spent over the last 7 years to upgrade the infrastructure of the Precinct e.g. Aerial bundling of overhead power lines, resurfacing of the footpaths and roadways, installation of trees, seating, bollards, bike racks and rubbish bins and painting of all street furniture in the Precinct to 'Burgundy' to suggest the boundaries of the retail strip.
As stevedoring operations moved to ports at Port Botany and Port Kembla, the Government of New South Wales determined that this site should be renewed as an extension of the Sydney CBD with a significant new foreshore park providing recreational areas for a growing Sydney population.Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority - Barangaroo This area is being redeveloped into a recreational, business and shopping precinct. The area was officially known as Millers Point and as part of the urban renewal plans, the State Government reviewed the name in 2006. The Maritime Union of Australia campaigned to renew the "Hungry Mile" name, as an acknowledgement of the site's historical significance to waterside workers.
On 24 February 2010 it was converted into a public limited liability company and in July Odel became the first fashion retail business to be listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. In 2012 the company opened stores in Wattala, Kiribathgoda and in the Kandy City Centre shopping complex, the first store outside the Western Province. Odel also launched Luv SL - a concept store carrying stylish souvenirs and products catering to locals and tourists - opening Luv SL stores at the Queen's Hotel, Kandy and the Old Colombo Dutch Hospital shopping precinct. In July 2012 Parkson Retail Asia Limited purchased a 41.82 per cent stake in the company for Rs 1.424 billion.
Following the demise of the coalfield the town experienced a severe economic slump, with many high street shops closing down. A wave of new development in the 1960s and 1970s saw a new shopping precinct planned, which it was claimed would incorporate a cinema, bowling alley, hotel and bus station and would completely revitalise the town. Despite the developers' grandiose claims, the project was not a success and ultimately consisted solely of shopping units, many of which stood empty for up to five years. There was little further development in the 1980s and 1990s, and the feeling of the local council is that the town centre is in need of improvement.
Mid Devon District Council has recently built new offices at Phoenix House, at the foot of Phoenix Lane, close to the site of a disused brewery. The building incorporates a new public library. The Pannier Market in the town has recently been redeveloped at a cost of more than £3 million, alongside its car park and minor shopping precinct, increasing market capacity and allowing markets to be held more frequently. In 2007 the former cinema, the Electric, was bulldozed for redevelopment as housing, while the only operative cinema, the Tivoli, which had previously been mostly run by volunteers, closed its doors and the site was put up for sale.
Gōgen Yamaguchi established the Gōjū-kai Headquarters in Suginami-ku, Tokyo, Japan, nearby to the busy shopping precinct of Roppongi. By 1950 Gōjū-kai Headquarters was officially relocated to the Suginami Tokyo school which contributed to an almost tripling of membership to 450,000 according to his autobiography. Five years later he officially chartered the I.K.G.A. Later in 1964, Gōgen Yamaguchi along with other founder members Ōtsuka Hironori from Wadō-ryū; Nakayama Masatoshi from Shotokan; Mabuni Kenei and Iwata Manzao of Shitō-ryū, unified all the karate dojo in Japan to form the All Japan Karate-dō Federation which is still in existence today as the Japan Karate Federation (JKF).
Its most well-known reserve is Bayswater Park, where football and cricket is played on the two ovals, as well as netball and tennis, on surrounding courts. The adjacent playground, known by the locals as the 'Train Park', contains a disused steam engine, which has been altered for children to play on. Shopping in Bayswater includes 3 supermarkets; Woolworths, Aldi and Coles and a Mitre 10 Home & Trade. The most recent newest shopping precinct is Mountain High Plaza, which was completed in May 2009, and includes an Anytime Fitness 24hr health club, a Coles supermarket, coffee shops and variety stores, including Discount Pharmacy Dimmeys.

Early downtown pedestrianized malls included the Kalamazoo Mall (the first, in 1959), "Shoppers' See-Way" in Toledo, Lincoln Road Mall in Miami Beach, Santa Monica Mall (1965). Although Bergen Mall (opened 1957) led other suburban shopping centers in using "mall" in their names, these types of properties were still referred to as "shopping centers" until the late 1960s, when the term "shopping mall" started to be used generically for large suburban shopping centers.
Streetscape improvements were completed by the City in 2014, including widened footpaths, new footpath and street lighting, landscaping reflecting Feng Shui principals, event power and water connections, upgrades to underground services, undergrounding of overhead power lines and flush kerb and channels. The streetscape design facilitates Chinatown to hold large scale events. On December 2, 2014 it was revealed that Australia Fair Shopping Centre would spend over $15 million refurbishing Australia Fair West turning the area of the shopping centre that fronts Young Street in Chinatown into an international Asian dining and shopping precinct to complement Chinatown. This section of the shopping centre will be known as Australia Fair Metro.
Built in the late 1950s, Llanyrafon is mainly residential but does include a municipal golf course; 3-star Hotel (Commodore Hotel on Mill Lane - closed in 2011 and now demolished to make way for a new housing development); small shopping precinct known as Llanyrafon Lakeside Shops and the large Boating Lake Park & South Fields. The Boating Lake Park includes (as the name suggests) a large lake which is home to various wildfowl birds such as swans, mallards and moorhens. There is also a large adventure playground as well as various football and rugby pitches. In recent years, the addition of a skateboarding/roller blading park was made to this area.

Nos.33, 35 & 37 Clwyd Street, Ruthin is a C16 timber framed grade II building in Ruthin, Denbighshire, which was listed on 16 May 1978 by Cadw (Cadw Building ID: 87299).British Listed Buildings; accessed 7 October 2014 Today, it is used as a hop. Now a shopping precinct this building dates back to the 15th Century with examples of wattle and daub just inside the building on the right hand side. The building was remodelled in the early 19th century when it became the "Cross Key's Coaching Inn" serving the Ruthin to Chester route with a change of horses in Mold and last licensed in 1905.
The Ridings Centre opened on 17 October 1983. It included construction of a large complex to house the upper and middle malls along with the blue and red car parks. In addition to this, an existing open shopping precinct on Kirgate originally opened in 1972 was roofed and extensively updated to become the lower mall, and the existing Almhouse Lane multi-storey was adapted to become the green car park. It was the first of its kind in the UK, containing features such as a food court inspired by malls in the United States and its major popularity upon opening meant there were queues even to enter the centre.
Although not the first to write novels in Welsh, Owen is the earliest Welsh-language novelist whose works are still widely read. He is credited with starting the tradition of novel writing in the Welsh language and of influencing many later fiction writers, such as Kate Roberts and T. Rowland Hughes. Owen is commemorated in Mold by a statue and in the name of a shopping precinct and cultural centre. His name is also remembered in the Daniel Owen Memorial Prize (Gwobr Goffa Daniel Owen), awarded at the National Eisteddfod for the best unpublished novel of no less than 50,000 words with a strong story.

Much of the series was filmed around the sprawling, down-at- heel Gleadless Valley area of Sheffield, with most of the drama centring on Ironside Road and the large, concrete-sided maisonettes are a prominent feature across either side of Blackstock Road, the estate's main artery. The estate of Lowedges (Lowedges Crescent) is also used, although it is portrayed as being part of the same area in the storyline. Many residents are of the opinion Gleadless Valley has not changed much in the 50 years since it was built, and this possibly influenced Meadows choice to film there. Other notable local venues for filming include Leighton Road, Gaunt Road, Blackstock Road Shopping Precinct and Norton Lane.
The French have opened an enormous shopping precinct adjacent to the Channel Tunnel (Cité Europe) that attracts large numbers of British shoppers. Following large increases in tobacco duty in France, it is now very common for smokers to make a detour to the small town of Adinkerke just over the border in Belgium, where tobacco duty is lower. Many people intending to purchase mainly tobacco products opt for the revitalised service from Dover to Dunkirk, as Dunkirk is much closer to the Belgian border than Calais, and the ferries on this route are slightly more 'smoker-friendly'. Some buying both tobacco and alcohol make a triangular journey (Dover - Dunkirk - Calais - Dover or vice versa).
In the late 12th century a 'hospital' was built on the Stockwood Estate in Farley Hill. This old hospital was partly renovated and extended to house a museum that holds the 'Mossman Collection', a large collection of horsedrawn carriages and other vehicles, along with locally found artifacts, a historical garden and a craft center. The estate was constructed after World War II to replace houses destroyed by German bombers. The design of the estate primarily consists of residential housing, which was considered advanced at the time of its construction, incorporating a shopping precinct in the centre of a large roundabout and a wide avenue stretching from the centre to the edge of Stockwood Park.
A proposal was put forward to align a new bridge with Geelong Road, permitting traffic to bypass the main shopping precinct and primary school, but with the consequence of removing three homes. An independent panel was appointed by the then Minister for Planning, Rob Hulls, to decide on a bridge location. Evidence was presented for and against the Geelong Road site and the existing site, with the conclusion that the Geelong Road alignment was unsuitable for environmental, social, economic reasons. On 16 March 2007, it was announced that the current bridge would be improvedCity of Greater Geelong: Councillors welcome Barwon Heads bridge announcement and there were no plans to build a second bridge upstream.
At the same time, parts of Kensington north of Macaulay Road, including the railway station, Kensington Town Hall, and Kensington Primary School, became part of the City of Essendon. In the 2006 census, 5,204 residents lived within the City of Melbourne boundary, with 2,865 falling under the Moonee Valley City Council. A review of the municipal boundary in Kensington and North Melbourne was conducted in 2007, and found significant support for the entire suburb to be brought under the control of the City of Melbourne. Submission to the review highlighted issues with service provision, the lack of a coordinated retail strategy for the Macaulay Road shopping precinct, and challenges for community groups operating on both sides of the boundary.

The shoplifting scene near the beginning of Tenebrae was filmed on location at department store La Rinascente, off Piazza Fiume. Bullmer's death in a public square was shot at a shopping precinct called "Le Terrazze" in Rome's Casal Palocco residential neighbourhood. The scene in which Neal's landlord's daughter is killed was filmed outside the home of an architect – and friend of Argento – Sandro Petti, switching to studio shots for her initial entrance into the house and back to Petti's house for the confrontation with the killer. The scene at the beginning of the film where Neal boards his flight to Rome was filmed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

The most expensive residential areas stand along the coast in suburbs such as the marina of Cullen Bay part of Larrakeyah, Bayview and Brinkin, despite the risk these low-lying regions face during cyclones and higher tides, adequate drainage and stringent building regulations have reduced the potential damage to buildings or injury to residents. The inner northern suburbs are home to lower-income households, although low-income Territory Housing units are scattered throughout the metropolitan area. The city has a favourable position on the Belfast-Dublin corridor, being connected with the former by the M1 motorway from which it can be accessed through junctions 3, 6, 7 and 8. The A1 road to Newry and Dublin deviates from the M1 at the Sprucefield interchange, which is positioned one mile southeast of the city centre. An inner orbital route was formed throughout the 1980s which has permitted the city centre to operate a one-way system as well as the pedestrianisation of the Bow Street shopping precinct. In late 2004, the Wyllie Group announced a $9 million plan, designed by Cox, Howlett and Bailey Woodland Architects, to expand the boat harbour's Sorrento Quay shopping precinct by expanding the northern side of the facility with 800sqm of retail and dining space and a two-storey tavern of 1,500sq metres.

The imposition of restrictions on the Board's operations due to World War 2 and the difficulty in obtaining parts and supplies for its buses led to the withdrawal of the St. Martins bus service and the reintroduction of trams on 6 July 1942, despite the poor condition of the tram track. Uni Hill Factory Outlets is a shopping precinct located in the University Hill area of Bundoora in the outer north eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Brand Junction is one of nine precincts anticipated by the Janefield Development Plan, which was approved on 20 July 2004 by the City of Whittlesea and contains a mix of residential, commercial, retail and industry intended to be developed over the next 10–12 years by Melbourne property developer MAB Corporation on a site which is bounded by Plenty Road to the west, the Metropolitan Ring Road to the south, the Plenty Road Gorge Parklands to the east and RMIT University's Bundoora East Campus to the north. Brand Junction, which was approved by the City of Whittlesea in 2005, has been built by St Hilliers at an expected cost of A$40 million, and is expected to include a Coles supermarket, 28 specialty stores and up to 90 factory outlets in tenancies ranging from 80 square meters to over 500 square meters and offering discounted fashion, footwear, homewares, shopping and lifestyle goods from name brands. Some tenants already signed up include Laura Ashley, Harris Scarfe, Roger David and Wittner.
New Ferry has a small shopping precinct often referred to as "The Ferry". The area used to have a few chain stores as well as many independent shops. Kwik Save had two small premises in the town before moving to one new purpose-built site in 1992, which was then taken over by the Somerfield supermarket chain in 1998.
