The station is handicapped-accessible. Chester Avenue carries the SEPTA Route 13 trolley, which is part of the Subway-Surface Trolley system. The trolleys use an alternate track embedded in 49th Street when the tunnels are closed. 49th Street Station is also served by SEPTA bus route 64 which serves 50th and Parkside Avenue going north and Pier 70 Shopping Plaza going south.

Brugnara had applied for a gaming license in August 1999, but was still undergoing a pre-licensing investigation, which prevented him from keeping the casino open. Brugnara planned to fully remodel the casino and to demolish the adjacent Las Vegas Shopping Plaza, which was to become the site of two restaurants. However following the sale of Topps Estates to Land Securities and the change in ownership of the Trinity and Burton Arcades to Caddick Group and following the granting of a Compulsory purchase order by Leeds City Council the process of constructing the centre was finally finished. The development was a combination of several older developments including Leeds Shopping Plaza, which has been rebranded and remodelled as Trinity West.

In 2019, the last four buildings on the south side of Main Street were demolished; following delays, the widening project had a tentative construction start date of early 2020. The Factory Street Square project is the most recent proposal. Rather than attempting to redevelop the entire 23-acre parcel, the proposal only encompasses five acres. The Avenue (previously known as The Grand Avenue, The Shops of Grand Avenue and Shops of Grand Avenue) is an urban shopping plaza currently under renovation that spans three city blocks in the downtown neighborhood of Westown in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In Jensen Beach, Florida, the main line of the Florida East Coast Railway running north–south bisects the two-lane roundabout at the junction of Jensen Beach Boulevard running east–west. The most public section is an avenue parallel to I-4 that includes many commercial businesses and Celebration High School.

Route 642 operates Monday through Saturday along Route 154 between the Old Saybrook Train Station and Chester Center. Route 642 serves such points of interest as Bokum Shopping Plaza, Lawrence and Memorial Medical Center, Essex Village, Centerbrook Industrial Park, Essex Steam Train, Deep River Center, and Chester Center. In December 2010, the hours were greatly expanded on weekdays to accommodate commuters, and connections to the Route 1 were improved. At the end of August 2018, it was renumbered from Route 2 to Route 642.

In the summer of 2005, after seven years of controversy, including protests, nature preserve studies and court battles, the city government started relocating 174 families from the Ryder Mobile Home Park to make way for the Milford Crossing plaza. Meanwhile, the Connecticut Post Mall expanded, with current projects in Milford including the previously mentioned plaza, a hotel, a new high-end shopping plaza on the old Huffman Koos grounds, and a Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse store that replaced the space once occupied by Milford Jai-Alai.

In April 1972 an indoor shopping mall that was created by adding on to the shopping plaza and enclosing the area between Pantry Pride and Condon's Department Store opened. The mall featured a number of local retailers as well as nationally known retailers and specialty shops and a dual screen General Cinemas (which was later expanded to three screens). A third department store, the locally owned Edward's was also added at this time. With the completion of the enclosed mall came a new name, Ashley Plaza Mall.

The station precinct includes a well preserved red brick station building, goods shed, water tower and footbridge. The goods shed has since been demolished with a view of converting the unused railway reservation for a shopping plaza, which has not yet eventuated. The track east of Leongatha Station ended at the rear of a petrol station, approx 500 metres away. The home signal for trains approaching Leongatha from Koonwarra remained, but because there was no rail for any significant distance from the signal, it was decommissioned.

Bay Parkway begins at Ocean Parkway and continues for approximately southwesterly to Bath Beach, past Seth Low Playground and Bealin SquareSeth Low Playground/Bealin Square (New York City Parks Department) toward Bensonhurst Park,Bensonhurst Park (New York City Parks Department) Shore Parkway (Exit 5), and Caesar's Bay shopping plaza on Gravesend Bay. It runs through Bensonhurst and is four lanes wide throughout its route. Along Bay Parkway are many Chinese, Russian and Italian-American businesses as well as many residential buildings and co-ops.

La Alameda shopping center is located on 2140 Florence Ave. This shopping center which amounts to cover 240,000 square feet of retail area, houses stores such as CVS Pharmacy, Ross Dress for Less, Marshall's, as well as eatery that includes Chipotle Mexican Grill, Panda Express, and other establishments. This shopping center was built atop of underutilized and abandoned industrial areas which spanned 18 acres. The shopping plaza is influenced by the Spanish/ Mediterranean architecture which is notable through the location's tile and stone elements.

Perry Street, Queen Street and Gavin Street are the two main activity centres in Bundaberg North, comprising small scale shopping strips, a pub, with a small shopping centre (in Gavin Street). Parkway Shopping Plaza located at the intersection of Queen Street and Mt Perry Road, is the only standard shopping centre serving northern suburbs of Bundaberg city. It hosts the IGA Supermarket and Bundaberg North post office. North Bundaberg is also home to four hostels for backpackers and two pubs (Globe Hotel and Young Australian Hotel).

Parkway Forest is primarily residential, with luxury condominiums, high-rise rental apartment buildings, low-rise rental apartment buildings and townhouse complexes. The community has a large open park (Parkway Forest Park), a firehouse, a community center with outdoor pool, a shopping plaza (Parkway Forest Plaza) consisting of the neighbourhood's main grocery store (Foodland), and a public school (Forest Manor Public School) which goes from junior kindergarten to Grade 5. During the summer months, you can find many families with children playing in the large open park.

The western end of the Anderston Centre's shopping plaza was largely abandoned and turned into office space Seifert's scheme was never implemented in its entirety - conceptual drawings of the complex dating from the mid-1960s show a second phase immediately to the west of the first, which had an extended shopping plaza and three additional housing towers. This second phase was never built - the visible evidence of its incompleteness being the unfinished Anderston pedestrian bridge (the infamous 'Bridge to Nowhere') which terminated 100 metres away in midair before its eventual completion as a cycle path in 2013, where it now terminates just to the north west corner of the complex. This section of the site was eventually filled by the Glasgow Marriott and Hilton hotels which were built in 1981 and 1992, respectively. The location of a bus terminal at Anderston had been predicated as part of the Bruce Report proposals which called for the city centre's numerous bus stations to be consolidated down to just two at either corner of the central area - the other station being Buchanan Bus Station - opening a few years later in 1977.

Some important locations along the road include Hackett Middle School, Lincoln Park, the Spectrum 8 movie theatre, a public library branch, the City Square Plaza (shopping plaza), and Graceland Cemetery. Delaware Avenue was also part of New York Route 43 until the 1970s when NY 43 was truncated to the intersection of Third and Broadway in the city of Rensselaer, Delaware then became New York State Route 443. Delaware Ave is also US Route 9W from its intersection with Madison Avenue south to the intersection with Southern Boulevard where 9W leaves for that boulevard.

The bridge is located on Mill Street Park north of downtown Aspen, east of the intersection of North Mill and Puppy Smith streets. It is roughly in the center of the park, crossing the Roaring Fork between an open field and ponds to the south and a wooded area to the north between the bend in the river downstream and Gibson Avenue. On the west side of North Mill is a shopping plaza; north of Gibson is a residential area. Structurally, it is a five-panel steel Pratt through truss.

In December 2004, a family-owned business named The Players Club, headed by restaurateur Afrodite Dimitroulakos, announced it had acquired Lundy's from the TAM Restaurant Group. Lundy's again closed down in January 2007 when the landlord locked the owners out. The former space of the second Lundy's was renovated and incorporated into Lundy's Landing Shopping Plaza, hosting several restaurants and businesses. The renovation was controversial, as neighborhood residents felt that the new occupants of the Lundy's location, the Russian- themed Cherry Hill Gourmet Market, were radically altering the space.

Horowitz, the only member not originally from Michigan, began writing songs when he was eight years old, and attended the University of Michigan, studying composition. There he met Cantor, who had both attended high school with Sedghi and joined Hawley's film production group. When Tally Hall's original drummer, Steve Gallagher, left the band in 2004, they recruited Federman, who had gone to high school with Hawley. The name "Tally Hall" comes from its use as the name of an indoor shopping plaza on Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Killester has a shopping plaza with a range of shops including a SuperValu supermarket, pharmacies, a service station, cafes and a pub. It is the site of a third-level institution, Killester College of Further Education, formerly known as St. Peter's College. The primary schools in the area are St Brigid's girls national school and St Brigid's boys national school. Secondary schools include St Mary’s in northern Killester, St Paul's College, Raheny, and many children in the area also attend Holy Faith Clontarf, Manor House School, Raheny, St David’s in Artane, and Belvedere College.

Both were closed in 1953 and replaced by the Westmere Elementary School when the district was consolidated into the Guilderland Central School District. Being along Albany's city line McKownville has long been a center of suburban development including residential, commercial/office, retail, and educational. Strip malls, fast food, hotels, and other retail line Western Avenue, including Stuyvesant Plaza which was the first suburban shopping plaza built outside the city border. In 1924 residents formed the McKownville Improvement Association to lobby the town to build sidewalks and a create a water district for the neighborhood.

Lakeline Mall is less than four miles away, and three large grocery supermarkets (HEB, HEB-Plus, and Wal-Mart) are within two miles. Recently, a large shopping plaza has been constructed nearby as well; it has several restaurants and a movie theater. The neighborhood is notable for having two parks (Homeowners Association Park and Trailhead Park), nature trails, enormous protected lands surrounding it, close proximity to Austin high technology employers, and a surprisingly diverse population of Anglos, East Asians (primarily Chinese), Asian-Indians, and an active political community.

The BAC was opened in 1975, together with a shopping plaza below street level. For many years the shopping centre struggled, owing to its awkward layout and dark interior. The plaza was completely revamped in the early 1990s, the shops were relocated to street level and their former location being taken over by a new public library. The relocation of most council offices from City Hall to the BAC allowed the council to restore the City Hall's meeting rooms and vestibules to their original purpose and to undertake a thorough restoration of the building.

By September 2004, surface soil and surface water levels of TCE and other chemicals were within normal levels. As a result, the site has been deemed suitable for commercial re-use, and a shopping plaza was constructed. That plaza is now supplied by Portland's city water and does not use water from the former well. The ODHS has recommended that the health of the workers at the former factory be evaluated to determine the extent to which this population may have been affected by potential exposure to TCE.

The development is mostly centered on Westgate Plaza, a large shopping plaza anchored by a Walmart. As NY 33A passes south of the plaza, it connects to Howard Road (unsigned NY 940L and formerly part of NY 47) and Brooks Avenue. NY 204 leaves NY 33A at Brooks Avenue to follow the road eastward toward the Greater Rochester International Airport. NY 204 westbound East of Brooks Avenue, NY 33A passes through a small residential area before entering a more industrial neighborhood surrounding the Erie Canal and the Rochester city line.

Growth is expected to continue in Moon in the near future due to many new construction projects such as the redevelopment of University Boulevard and conversion of the West Hills Shopping Center into a new shopping plaza. Ground was broken in late 2006 on the new Cherrington Parkway extension. The extension, which opened in early 2008, created additional shovel-ready land for Class A office space, for corporate development. As a result of Robert Morris University, the college feeds much of the economy along the township's University Boulevard area.

Commercial development has rapidly occurred in the 2010s, with new businesses in and around the Steeple Chase shopping plaza. Large-scale commercial developments have included the Town of Tioga Center, development on pre-existing empty fields around the Steeple Chase Shopping Center, and the Arbor Greens center. This was during MCR's first broadcast at Radio House. For five years, MCR broadcast from Radio House until 1998, when MCR had to vacate the premises in order for the council to pull down the house to make way for a new shopping plaza carpark. After putting out the call for an urgent new location in the local papers, an appropriate place was found in a shopping fitout in the City Arcade, Campbelltown. This space was generously donated by the at-the-time owner(s) of the City Arcade.

Heavy rainfall caused serious disruption to rail services across the Midlands. Trains were suspended for several hours between Hednesford and Rugeley Trent Valley due to flooding, affecting London Midland services. There was also serious disruption to London Midland and Chiltern Railways services between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stourbridge Junction due to flooding near The Hawthorns. In Birmingham, the Bullring and Mailbox shopping centres were forced to close due to flooding, which also affected the Grand Central shopping plaza above Birmingham New Street railway station, with water leaking through the roof and flooding the malls.

The historic buildings of Main Mall Row. The Main Mall was an outdoor pedestrian shopping plaza in downtown Poughkeepsie, New York, which was in existence from 1973 until 2001. An urban renewal project designed with the intention of stopping the decline of the central business district of downtown Poughkeepsie, the mall was created by blocking off a section of Main Street (from Market to Catherine/Academy Streets) to automobile traffic. The growth of Poughkeepsie's immediate suburbs, along with the decline of the City of Poughkeepsie, doomed the project not long after its construction.

US 1 has a business/bypass split in Warwick where US 1 Business runs along Post Road and US 1 Bypass runs along Post Road Bypass. The business route is officially recognized by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation as US 1. US 1 enters Rhode Island via a small bridge from Pawcatuck, CT to Downtown Westerly. Route 1 winds through Downtown Westerly, passing two shopping plazas (the Granite Street Shopping Center and the Franklin Shopping Plaza) prior to a junction with RI 78, the two-lane highway designed to bypass Downtown.

From 1907 to 1956, the site was home to horse racing at Dufferin Racetrack. The track was later closed and converted to a shopping plaza. The plaza, Dufferin Mall, is an enclosed shopping centre to the south of Bloor Street, on the west side of Dufferin Avenue, and dominates shopping in the area with a large supermarket, department store, clothing and specialty stores. In the 1970s, the large parking lot was converted to a three-storey parking garage, and the number of stores doubled in conjunction with the enclosure of the pedestrian space.

Highland Park Village is an upscale shopping plaza located at the southwest corner of Mockingbird Lane and Preston Road in Highland Park, Texas (USA) and was the first self-contained shopping center in America. The Highland Park Village was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2000. and Beautiful shopping area, modeled after the much larger Country Club Plaza in KCMO. JC Nichols and the developer of HP Village were friends and Hugh Prather decided to take the idea to Dallas and developed a smaller version of the Plaza in Kansas City.

The location chosen was a former American Locomotive Company (ALCO) site (and later a Big N Supermarket Shopping Plaza) that was heavily polluted. 10,000 tons of dirt and more than 400,000 gallons of contaminated groundwater needed to be removed, state and federal funding assisted in covering the costs. Also in 2010 the State Employee Federal Credit Union's (SEFCU) commercial lending, business banking, and insurance operations moved to Downtown Schenectady into a new building, Clinton Square which was renamed SEFCU Square. The block the new building occupies was once home to several pizza parlors and had earned the nickname of Pizza Block.

On March 21, 2017, Carey announced via her Twitter account that a film based on "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is being developed. A musical film based on Merry Christmas, the plot revolves around a small town—perhaps not unlike Carey's hometown of Huntington, New York—where a ruthless developer wants to turn the land into a large shopping plaza. Impetus of the park was another nearby short-lived attraction called Canadia which was an eleven-acre miniature village & horticultural park in Niagara Falls. The all-Canadian themed landscapes and landmark building models were at a 1:24 scale When it opened in May 1966, was the largest such collection of large scale miniature buildings in the world. The models were made of wood structure with a thin exterior of mix medium for the details. In 1970, the park closed to make way for a shopping plaza that never gained city approval, with the property eventually being turned into a housing development.

By 1998 there was also a Japanese restaurant at the site of the original Lundy's, while the retail space was unused and being converted into office space. The unused space later became Lundy's Landing Shopping Plaza, though the shopping space was initially unsuccessful. The new owners of Lundy's opened a branch location in 2001, at 205 West 50th Street near Manhattan's Times Square, but it lasted only a short time. Lundy's was nearly seized by the New York state government in 2003 due to non-payment of taxes, though this was quickly resolved after back taxes were paid.

Place Ville Marie (PVM for short) is a large office and shopping complex in downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada, comprising four office buildings and an underground shopping plaza. The main building, 1 Place Ville Marie (formerly Royal Bank Tower from its anchor tenant), built in the International style in 1962 as headquarters for the Royal Bank of Canada, which it still is presently. It is a , 47-storey, cruciform office tower. The complex is a nexus for Montreal's Underground City, the world's busiest, with indoor access to over 1,600 businesses, numerous subway stations, a suburban transportation terminal, and tunnels extending throughout downtown.

The hotel has a total of 547 rooms and 111 serviced apartments built on an area of about 12 acres. The banquet level of the hotel offers over 30,000 square feet/2,790 square meters of conference and meeting space including one fully wired ballrooms in the city; seven additional meeting rooms and board rooms and a pre-function area. Just below are one-story commercial buildings and their parking lots along the curving section of Chestnut Street, part of New York State Route 9D. A large shopping plaza with a supermarket and the village's post office is just across Chestnut to the southwest. Across the road to the southeast are some of the remaining buildings of the West Point Foundry and its archeological site, both listed on the Register and being considered for National Historic Landmark status. The building itself is a two-and-a-half-story, three-by-four-bay structure of brick laid in common bond over load-bearing stone.

This portion of the road is home to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church and D. Roy Kennedy Public School. At Baseline Road the road runs past Algonquin College and the College Square shopping plaza (which replaced Shoppers City West) and the closed Confederation High School. Just to the west is Ben Franklin Place, in the heart of the community of Centrepointe, and the Baseline Station transit complex. The most severe was on the north side of the street, where some homes exhibited classic F4 damage. The library roof was found some 200 metres away on a nearby house (Bruineman, 2010). Continuing eastward through more open country, it brushed the northern outskirts of Orangeville about fifteen minutes later (Grazulis, 2001) where the southern portion of the Mono Shopping Plaza completely collapsed (injuring 67 people, one of them seriously). It then caused extensive damage to approximately fifty buildings (many of which were only recently built) about south of the town of Tottenham at around 5:00pm.

At the extreme west (railroad south) end of the platform, a single staircase and a bank of two escalators (which were once the longest in the world), a single escalator, and one ADA-accessible elevator go up to the full-time mezzanine with a token booth, where a turnstile bank provide entrance/exit from the station. One glass-enclosed staircase goes up to the entrance plaza of 132 East 53rd Street at the southeast corner of Lexington Avenue. A larger staircase goes up to a sunken shopping plaza of the Citigroup Center at the northeast corner of the aforementioned intersection.

"Greater Tallaght" comprises Tallaght village and a range of areas that were formerly small settlements (Jobstown, Old Bawn, Kilnamanagh) and rural townlands, all developed in recent decades. The original village of Tallaght lies west of the Tallaght Bypass (N81). It stretches east-west from Main Road and Main Street to the Abberley Court Hotel at the end of High Street and encompasses the Village Green shopping plaza, Tallaght Courthouse, Westpark, and many shops, restaurants and banks. It also houses Tallaght Youth Service, Tallaght's first newspaper printing house the Tallaght Echo, and (formally) Tallaght Community Arts Centre.

The presence of a major LIRR hub means that Hicksville developed as a major bedroom community of New York City. Broadway Mall in 2016 Hicksville's North Broadway, positioned in the center of Nassau County, developed into a significant retail center. North Broadway was home to the Mid-Island Shopping Plaza (later known as Broadway Mall), a 156,000-square-foot Sears department store and auto center (which closed in 2018) and various other restaurants and retail shopping. Hicksville is also home to a number of the finest Indian restaurants on Long Island thanks to its large proportion of immigrants from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.

On October 10, 1984, in South Pasadena, California, a major fire broke out at an Ole's Home Center hardware store located in a shopping plaza. The store was completely destroyed by the fire, and four people were killed: a two-year-old child, his grandmother, a 26-year- old mother of two, and a 17-year-old employee. On the following day, arson investigators from around southern California converged on the destroyed store, and declared the cause to be an electrical fire.Wambaugh. p. 17 However, Orr, as an arson investigator, insisted that the cause was arson.

The scope of the project includes 794 high-end condominium units, a 200 to 300 room boutique hotel and an enclosed shopping plaza. There are 'green' components to the buildings, such as a rooftop garden. If completed, Bridgman's View Tower would be much larger than other buildings in its immediate vicinity. The Northern Liberties neighborhood is well removed physically from the core of skyscrapers that exist in Center City although the area has, over the past few years, become a popular locale for developers and several large scale projects are proposed in addition to Bridgman's View.

In August 2015, RIDOT announced that it would be taking over operations and maintenance at Wickford Junction from a private contractor. The savings from the change—estimated at $340,000 annually—were to be used to increase frequencies on the 65X route. At the same time, RIDOT began a two-week, $372,500 project to allow bus operations to be shifted to the station, which involved constructing a bus depot next to the garage and a new access driveway from Route 102. Only several days of "preliminary work" were completed by August 31 when Coie's company, owner of the adjacent shopping plaza, filed a lawsuit against RIDOT.

The private developers, CRI Chatswood, went into receivership whilst construction was underway.

Many First Leeds buses do not use the station, only external buses and National Express coaches use the station. Hence Eastgate, The Headrow, Park Row, Boar Lane, Vicar Lane, Albion Street and Cookridge Street are lined with bus stops. There are four smaller bus points in the city centre, one at the Leeds Corn Exchange, one to the rear of the Leeds Shopping Plaza on Boar Lane, one on Infirmary Street and one outside the main entrance to the railway station for services linking the railway station with the rest of the city's public transport. The railway station has a dedicated public hire taxi rank that operates 24 hours a day.

An EF1 tornado also struck Calcutta, where trees were downed and air conditioning units were ripped from the roof of a YMCA. Further to the east, an EF1 tornado moved through parts of Erie, Pennsylvania, damaging trees, homes, businesses, and a shopping plaza. Tornadoes also struck towns in Indiana that afternoon and evening, including a brief EF1 tornado that damaged roofs and trees in Muncie, and another EF1 that damaged structures in downtown Salem. Farther north, East Lake Road meets Lincoln Hill Road (CR 18), the first of two roads connecting NY 364 to the adjacent Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC). East Lake Road continues onward, passing the Canandaigua Country Club before intersecting Lake Shore Drive, the second roadway leading to FLCC, a half-mile north of CR 18. Past Lake Shore Drive, NY 364 enters a much more commercialized area as it approaches Eastern Boulevard (US 20 and NY 5), the city of Canandaigua's main east–west commercial strip. It passes one large shopping plaza before terminating opposite another at a junction with US 20 and NY 5.

The Cherry Hill Gourmet Market is a Russian themed specialty grocery and deli located on the corner of Emmons Avenue and Ocean Avenue on the water in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York City. It is the principal establishment occupying the former Lundy's Restaurant (now Lundy's Landing Shopping Plaza), which also houses Momoyama Japanese Restaurant and Masal Turkish Cafe on the first floor, and professional offices on the upper floors. Opened by Russian born fruit and vegetable produce entrepreneur David Isaev in May 2009, the creation of the market put an end to attempts to revive Lundy's. The facade of the Lundy's building, an official New York City landmark, remains the same.

Holy Trinity Church on Boar Lane was constructed between 1721 and 1727, built to a design by William Etty. It is a Grade I listed building. The building has not changed much (although a new steeple was built in 1839 by R D Chantrell), but developments such as the Burton Arcade and the Leeds Shopping Plaza have been built so close that it is difficult to see the full exterior of the building as was once possible. In 2007 it was reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post that the remains of a 17th-century cottage in Alwoodley had been demolished after controversial approval from Leeds City Council.

In Hartbeespoort, at the junction with Bach Street next to the Sediba Shopping Plaza in the suburb of Melodie, the R511 becomes the road northwards towards Brits, leaving the R104 as the west-north-westerly road. After this junction, the R104 becomes Scott Street and makes up the northern border of the suburb of Schoemansville. West of Schoemansville, the R104 crosses the point where the Crocodile River enters the Hartbeespoort Dam, before reaching a 4-way junction with the R512 Route. At this intersection, the R104 meets the R512 from Broederstroom and the 2 routes are cosigned westwards from this junction, passing the Elephant Sanctuary of Hartbeespoort.

Newburgh has a commercial strip north of the city, featuring the Mid-Valley Mall and another large shopping plaza built around a supermarket anchor. This development ends after when 32 passes the Town of Newburgh's Cronomer Hill Park on the south, near a short drive to the summit observation tower. more brings NY 32 to the center of the hamlet of Cronomer Valley and an unusual junction with NY 300\. At what seems to be a conventional four-way intersection regulated by a traffic light, both highways turn, and it is necessary to turn to the northeast to stay on NY 32 headed north.

Over twenty-five years the complex grew to include a gas station, grocery store, bar, movie theater, and dance hall; a 1959 fire destroyed everything at the site. Shops at the Festival at Manchester shopping plaza The Franconia area was the site of a skirmish in January, 1862, during the American Civil War. Colonel Wade Hampton III, having led a group of cavalrymen across the Occoquan River past Pohick Church, encountered a group of Union cavalry in the area and gave chase. Being warned by a Texas scout that he was soon to enter an ambush, Hampton stopped short and formed a squadron on top of Potter's Hill.

Centennial Park is primarily a service suburb, with a light industrial area in the centre of the suburb, and the Albany Regional Sporting Complex, Royals Football Club home ground Centennial Oval and Tigerland which hosts the Railways Football Club in the Great Southern Football League. Centennial Park Tigers Backyard Cricket Club are another sporting team in Centennial Park. Several motels and a caravan park operate along Albany Highway. The area's shopping needs are served by Dog Rock Shopping Centre and Albany Shopping Plaza, both just beyond the southern boundary of the suburb between Middleton Road and Albany Highway, and by a small shopping centre on North Road.

Still, over the past few decades, the city leadership has succeeded in bringing retail development to the western portion of Duarte beginning, notably, with the redevelopment of the Big Sky Drive-in Theater as a shopping plaza with a Gemco superstore (which is now a Target). Later, the city's obsolete municipal pool, known as Aqualand, and a well known Route-66 diner (known as the "Boulevard Cafe") were replaced with a Ralphs shopping center. In the early 21st century, Walmart opened on the western edge of the city, as did a CarMax used-car superstore. The Plantation Towne Mall was an enclosed shopping mall in Plantation, Florida, which was destroyed by a fire on September 6, 1996. The shopping mall originally opened in 1968 as an open-air shopping plaza with a Publix Supermarket on its west end, and a Rite Aid Drug Store (vacant space during the fire) and movie theater (called Towne Theatre, but later Art Towne Twin until closing) on its east. In 1971, the center was enclosed by a metal roof, while original roofing was not removed. By 1991, the mall had undergone both interior and exterior renovations, converting the vacant theater space into offices, and cladding the exterior in stucco with mansard mall entryways.

The Lynn, store moved from the P. B. Magrane building to a new anchor store in a shopping plaza on State St., then to a store on the Lynnway. Beginning in the 1950s, the Boston Redevelopment Authority embarked on an aggressive program of urban renewal. In 1966 the city forced Raymond's out of its aging and somewhat ramshackle complex of attached buildings at Washington and Franklin Streets, which forced a move down Washington Street toward a less desirable location, the old R. H. White building near the so-called Combat Zone. The move was intended to be temporary, and Raymond's was to return to a new, modern building at its old site.

Civic Building and Veterans Plaza At the beginning of the 21st century, downtown Silver Spring began to see the results of redevelopment. Several city blocks near City Place Mall were completely reconstructed to accommodate a new outdoor shopping plaza called "Downtown Silver Spring." New shops included national retail chains such as Whole Foods Market, a 20-screen Regal Theatres, Men's Wearhouse, Ann Taylor Loft, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Office Depot, and the now- closed Pier 1 Imports, as well as many restaurants, including Panera Bread, Red Lobster, Cold Stone Creamery, Fuddruckers, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Nando's Peri-Peri, and Chick-fil-A. A Borders book store was a popular spot until it closed when the chain went out of business; it was replaced by H&M.

Britton Plaza on a typical weekend afternoon. Britton Plaza Shopping Center is a open-air shopping plaza in the Fair Oaks - Manhattan Manor neighborhood of Tampa, Florida (on the corner of Dale Mabry Highway and Euclid Avenue). The plaza was built in 1956 and includes these anchors: Publix Super Market, Bealls Outlet, Tuesday Morning, Stein Mart, Burlington Coat Factory, Marshall's, Michaels, and Big Lots, as well as a GNC, Taco Bell, and a variety of local stores including The Perfect Gift which opened in 2011. The plaza also has an eight-screen theater, operated by Five Star Cinemas, which reopened in August 2009.. The theater was previously operated by Regal Entertainment in the mid-1990s and later Zota Theatres during the early and mid-2000s.

A feature of Raheny is Dublin's second busiest municipal library branch, opened in 1972 and at one time the busiest in Ireland. Located near the village centre it has a reading garden and recycling centre. Adjacent to the library is the site of the first Catholic School in the village, built by William Sweetman circa 1820, now a solicitor's office. The district also holds St. Francis Hospice and St. Joseph's Hospital (administered by Beaumont Hospital Board), as well as a small local health centre, a Credit Union branch (the local credit union merged with those of Artane and Coolock), a Garda Síochána station, located opposite the national school complex on All Saints' Drive, and one of Dublin's three driving test centres, at the St. Anne's shopping plaza.

Between the first and second towers is "the podium", within which was built of retail space, including Century 21 and an Alamo Drafthouse. The second tower, City Point Tower II (also known as 1 DeKalb Avenue), or 10 City Point, doing business as City Tower was completed in 2015 and opened in 2016. It is a 30-story, 335,000-square-foot tower with 440 market-rate units. Burger stand in DeKalb Hall Accessible by entrances on Flatbush Avenue Extension and on Fulton Street is a shopping plaza with big box national chain stores, smaller retail shops, a movie theater, bar, and grocery store, as well as restaurants and a 27,000 square foot food court in the basement of Tower II called DeKalb Market Hall.

Described as a "handsome bronze statue", it was unveiled on 29 June 1892 and "viewed by hundreds of people, the great majority of whom pronounced it one of the most lifelike statues of Uncle John Plankinton possible to be executed." It stood in the Plankinton House Hotel until the location was redeveloped in 1915 into a shopping district, Plankinton Arcade, which incorporated a rotunda in which the statue was placed. The statue underwent several months of restoration work in 2012, before returning to its place in the rotunda that is now a part of The Grand shopping plaza. One of the bronze statues Park made for the Fair was of Benjamin Franklin and it was three years later reinstalled at Lincoln Park in downtown Chicago.

Despite the dire financial situation in Norwood, it did not take long for the city to realize the closing of General Motors was an opportunity to transition its image from a blue- collar industrial city to a business and retail destination. In 1989, city signed a deal with the Belvedere Corporation to develop both the former GM site as well as the east side of Montgomery Road between Sherman Avenue and Elm Avenue. The same year, the city also made plans to build an upscale retail and restaurant complex called Rookwood Pavilion on the site of the old LeBlond plant. In 1990, the first of these new projects, a shopping plaza called Grand Central Station, opened on Smith Road at the site of the old GM plant.

Located on a two-and-a-quarter-acre site, the Southern Cross Hotel was a large project that included not just the hotel itself but a shopping plaza adjacent along Bourke Street, in an attempt to provide all the facilities a hotel guest might require in a single development. The 11 level tower of the 435-room hotel faced Exhibition Street, above a lobby and bars and restaurants in the fully glazed ground and first floors. The double level plaza behind covered a larger area, had a long front along Bourke Street, and was wrapped around an internal square courtyard, with a central fountain. The plaza contained more associated bars and restaurants, and another 40 or so shops, as well a bowling alley on the upper level.

Residential growth has increased substantially since 2002 due to completion of "The Big Pipe" project; designed to deliver water to the town from Lake Ontario. Since then, Milton developed an initial seven new subdivisions, including Hawthorne Village, and several new ones are under development by Mattamy Homes and various other builders. Multiple new grade schools have been built as well as the Crossroads Centre shopping plaza that includes various major retail stores and restaurants. An eight-screen movie theatre is operated by Cineplex Entertainment under their Galaxy Cinemas brand and opened on June 30, 2006. In July 2014, Milton council approved 11 new residential applications that will see an additional 6,000 homes built, increasing the population by roughly 25,000 new residents.

In 1946, the Austin Country Club relocated outside the city limits to present-day East Riverside Drive, and the city sold the back nine holes of the Hancock Golf Course, as it was called after the country club relocated, to the Sears Corporation to finance other recreational projects. The Sears store later became one of the flagship stores in the Hancock Center Shopping Plaza, which was built in 1963 on the back nine of the golf course and is considered Austin's first shopping mall. The other flagship store in Hancock Center is a huge H-E-B grocery store, among various other smaller stores, shops, and restaurants. During the 1960s it was home to the first Dillard's store in Texas and a Sears more than double the size of its original downtown store.

In the novel, Jill Peacock, a journalist, interviewed First Mercantile American Bank executive VP, Alexander Vandervoort, in a suburban shopping plaza where the bank had installed the first two stainless-steel Docutel automatic tellers. Vandervoort, whose clothes looked like they were from the "fashion section of Esquire" and who had the "mannerisms a la Johnny Carson", was not at all like the classical solemn, cautious banker in a double-breasted, dark blue suit.

The synagogue soon became the center of a small but vibrant Jewish community, one of whose leaders, Abraham Reuben, became a councilor on the city corporation in 1936. On July 17, 1988, the Magen Shalom synagogue was destroyed to make way for a shopping plaza (Madiha Square) in the Ranchore Lines neighborhood of Karachi. In 1989, the original Ark and podium were stored by a Gentile in Karachi; a Torah scroll case was taken by an American Jew to the US. In 2004 she donated synagogue registers covering the period 1961-1976 to the Ben-Zvi Institute Library in Jerusalem. In these ledgers, a circumcision was recorded in 1963 and several weddings in 1963-64. In 1973 only 15 names were written down, of whom nine were listed as “left Karachi”.

The predecessor highway to MD 700 was MD 493, which was a state-maintained portion of Orems Road constructed around 1933. MD 493 began at a creek crossing due south of Martin Plaza Shopping Plaza, headed east along Orems Road and present-day Old Orems Road to an at-grade railroad crossing of the Pennsylvania Railroad, then continued east on present-day Baker Avenue to Eastern Avenue just west of the Baker Avenue right-in/right-out junction with MD 700. Prior to construction of MD 700, the only highway connection to the Glenn L. Martin Company aircraft manufacturing plant in Middle River, which was established in 1929, was MD 150. However, upcoming war conditions as a result of World War II required improved connections to military reservations and manufacturers critical to the war effort.

Richwood's Main Street Central Business District went from boom to bust during the 20th century, but has subsequently seen the return of specialty shops and an effort to beautify the cityscape While Richwood was the economic center for Nicholas County for most of the 20th century, the county seat of Summersville has come to be the primary retail and business center during the past 25 years. This is mostly due to the improvement of U.S. Route 19 to a 4-lane highway and the development of business along the corridor. Richwood, however, is still by default the political and economic center of eastern Nicholas County, as it is the only incorporated city in the immediate area. The city has a small shopping plaza which houses Rite Aid and Dollar General.

The route continues north into the center of the village, passing by several small businesses and Fairport Village Landing—the largest shopping plaza in the village—before crossing over the Erie Canal by way of a lift bridge and becoming North Main Street. Once on the north side of the canal, NY 250 crosses the CSX Transportation-owned Rochester and West Shore Subdivisions at a single grade crossing ahead of High Street. At this point, the businesses give way to homes as the highway ascends a hill at the north end of the village and meets Whitney Road at the northern village line. North of Whitney Road, NY 250 becomes Fairport–Nine Mile Point Road as it descends and ascends a series of small hills populated by homes on its way into Penfield.

There is very little ambient dialogue — the soundtrack primarily consists of holiday music and the narrator's voice, with much of the narration presented in the form of rhymed or free verse. This short, along with many others considered to be time-capsule chronicles of their period, has been frequently classified as camp and shown as November or December filler within Turner Classic Movies' Saturday night–Sunday morning film showcase series, TCM Underground.

From the Thruway Plaza, trains would cross Walden Avenue, and follow an abandoned trackbed, coming within a close distance of the Walden Galleria Mall, north passing the Union/George Urban shopping plaza, and onto the hotels across from the airport, and then north into the airport itself. Later plans show an extension to this trunk line to continue across the airport grounds to terminate at the presently open Holtz Road Park & Ride lot. Due to this being added after 1995, the figures do not reflect the cost of the extension into the estimates. In 2019, following approval of a new station on the main line at the NFTA Rail Maintenance Yard, the CTRC suggested extending the main line to serve along the Airport line, connecting to Buffalo RiverWorks, Larkinville, Buffalo Central Terminal and Walden Galleria before reaching the airport.

Two high level pedestrian exits from the complex existed to the north and west - the first being to the (now demolished) Albany Hotel on Waterloo Street, the second being the infamous M8 Bridge to Nowhere which was never extended far enough to reach the main deck of the shopping plaza, instead terminating in mid-air some 100 metres away. The three towers were named after the famous Clyde paddle steamers SS St Columba, SS Dalraida and SS Davaar, in reference to Anderston's maritime history as a dockland area, and were collectively known as Blythswood Court. The eastern end of the complex consisted of an unconnected 'S'-shaped, 9-storey office block (initially known as McIver House, later 1 Cadogan Square), which would frame the operating area of the bus station, exiting onto Douglas Street and Blythswood Street.

Largely unpoliced, the centre's covered service roads and access walkways became a notorious red-light district, becoming a haven for prostitutes and vandals, and the development's once-fashionable bare concrete Brutalist style of architecture aged badly over time, with the half derelict shopping plaza standing as a monument to the failures and mistakes of Glasgow's grand regeneration scheme of the 1960s, and generally became viewed as an eyesore. Contemporary architectural critics of the period blame the location of the complex as a factor in its failure as a shopping destination, critically being "a few hundred yards too far to the west" to encourage shoppers on Argyle Street beyond the psychological barrier of Central Station and Hielanman's Umbrella. In addition, the opening of the St Enoch Centre in 1989 further consolidated Glasgow's core shopping district in its existing area, leaving the Anderston complex redundant.

Tejuosho Market Tejuosho Market is an ultramodern market located along the Ojuelegba-Itire Road in Yaba, Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria. The market which is divided into two phases (Phase I and Phase II) contains about 2,383 lock-up shops in a sprawling four-storey building and about 1,251 K-clamps units, banking spaces, 14 food court spaces, eight lifts, two escalators connecting the four floors, 600 parking lots and basic facilities like stable electricity and water supply, equipped fire station, two rams to assist the physically challenged and a crèche. Some years after a fire incident that destroyed most part of the market, the Lagos State Government, Stormberg Engineering Limited, and First Bank of Nigeria in a public-private partnership reconstructed the market into a mega shopping plaza as part of plans to turn Lagos into a "Mega City".

The Southern Cross Ballroom, with a seating capacity of 500, sat on top of the south side of the plaza building, and was accessed from the main lobby. There were a total of ten bars, restaurants and function rooms within the hotel and the plaza, and the range of shops included such necessities as a pharmacy, hairdresser, beauty parlour, tobacconists, car rental, travel agents, banks, as well as fashion boutiques and gift shops. A large 350 space carpark in the basement served both guests and public (guests could park free of charge when it first opened). The shopping plaza was designed on a broad horizontal base, setback from the marked slope of Bourke and Little Collins Streets (this created a break in the continuity of the shopfronts along Bourke Street, eventually affecting its popularity and viability).

Some of the occupants include the following: the Silver Spring Stage, a well-regarded regional theatre, a Starbucks Coffee, a Chipotle restaurant, Santucci's Deli (run by the Santucci family, local to the neighborhood), The Watch Pocket (a clock and watch repair shop and vendor, and one of two jewelry stores), a family-run independent grocery store, a barber shop, a UPS Shipping outlet, a Sprint Mobile (non- corporate) franchise, Woodmoor Pastries, a Subway sandwich restaurant, Woodmoor Cleaners, a CVS Pharmacy, and a branch of Bank of America. Highlights of the year are the community Christmas tree lighting, a local Oktoberfest, and Bloody Mary cocktail making competition, which coincides annually with the Wimbledon tennis tournament's gentleman's final each July. The first houses in the neighborhood were built in the late 1930s.

Brooklin and area has 8 elementary schools, including Meadowcrest P.S., Winchester P.S., Brooklin Village P.S., Blair Ridge P.S., St. Leo's C.S., St. Bridget C.S., Blessed John Paul II C.S., and Chris Hadfield P.S. Five high schools service the community (with three located in Whitby south of the village): Brooklin High School, Donald A Wilson Secondary School (French immersion), Saint-Charles Garnier C.S. (French-language instruction), All Saints Catholic Secondary School, and Anderson Collegiate Vocational Institute (gifted). A post office, library, fire hall, community centre, and ice arena are provided to the citizens by the municipal government. Many church communities provide for their adherents, including St. Thomas' Anglican, Brooklin United, St. Leo's Roman Catholic, Burn's Presbyterian (actually located in Ashburn), Renaissance Baptist, Hebron Christian Reform, Unitarian Universalist Congregation Of Durham, and Brooklin Village Church. A shopping plaza is the southern gateway to an older established downtown business corridor.

In 1967 a company purchased the option to lease the space above Flinders Street Station, planning to build a shopping plaza and two office towers, the dome and clock tower being kept as part of the design, but strong opposition saw this project lapse.alt=In 1972, Victorian Premier Henry Bolte unveiled another redevelopment plan, to cover of space above the station and Jolimont Yard for a complex of shops, offices, theatres and other community facilities. A newspaper report of 1974 said that planning was still underway for the $250 million proposal, but by 1975, public perceptions had begun to turn towards retention of the station. A Builders Labourers Federation green ban at the time helped preserve it in its existing form. The controversy over these proposals led to a re-apprasial of the architecture and significance of the station, which had been seen as something of an oddity, or even simply as dirty and ugly, such that it was classified by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) by 1976, and eventually listed on the state Heritage Register in 1982.

Brugnara first became involved in Las Vegas real estate in 1999, when he attempted to buy the Desert Inn for $270 million, but lost out to an all-cash offer from Sun International and Steve Wynn. In November 1999, he bought the Silver City Casino and the Las Vegas Shopping Plaza on the Las Vegas Strip for $40 million, with plans to replace it with a larger casino and hotel, but converted the property into a shopping center in 2004 after the Nevada Gaming Commission denied him a gambling license in 2001. In denying the license, the Gaming Commission had cited poor financial recordkeeping, claims that Brugnara had failed to file tax returns, conflicts with San Francisco regulators, and allegations that Brugnara had made death threats. In response, Brugnara stated that the Nevada Gaming Commissioners were "a bunch of wind-up dolls" representing Las Vegas incumbents, and threatened to file suit, but eventually decided not to do so, preferring to re-apply and address the Gaming Commission's concerns.

Van Nuys Boulevard at the Metro G Line crossing, 2008 Van Nuys Boulevard runs approximately ten miles from the Santa Monica Mountains in Sherman Oaks at its southern terminus to the foothills of the western end of the San Gabriel Mountains in Lake View Terrace at its northern terminus. It passes through the affluent community of Sherman Oaks, then continues through the community of Van Nuys, passing the numerous automobile dealerships in southern Van Nuys, then passing through the Van Nuys Municipal Center, the government center of the San Fernando Valley, then continuing north through Panorama City, past the old General Motors plant now converted into a shopping plaza called “The Plant,” before veering north east through the communities of Arleta and Pacoima, passing the San Fernando Gardens housing project, and ending in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. With its wide expanse through the heart of the San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys Boulevard became known from the 1950s through the 1970s as a center of teenage cruising. Its car culture was celebrated in several motion pictures, including Van Nuys Boulevard.
