Located approximately 270 meters NW of The Kirna is a prehistoric enclosure (settlement). There were two great barns which were "at a distance" plus an oxhouse with stable and carthouse under one roof, a dovecote and a sheepfold for 200 sheep. The beehive itself has symbolism not only for the audience, but also for one of the characters: Fernando the father. And the beehive symbolizes the same thing for both parties: “the inhumanity of fascist Spain.” The barren empty landscapes around the sheepfold have been seen as representing Spain's isolation during the beginning years of the Francoist State.

Tyari may be a variation of the ancient "Autiyara". American historian Albert T. Olmstead describes in his work History of the Persian Empire how the Persian General Vaumisa wins a battle in the Autiyara districts located in Tyari and mentions that this is where Assyrian Christians maintained independence until modern times. In Syriac, the word () is the plural form of , meaning "sheepfold" or "grazing area". Indeed, the Assyrians of Tyari were renowned even amongst neighboring Kurds and Armenians for their yogurt, cheese and other dairy products mostly made from sheep or goat's milk.

On September 25th 1627, the King Ferdinand II gave the little castle and village of Bochtitz to the Znojmo Jesuit College, which on March 10, 1673 also bought the village of Babitz with a farm, sheepfold, tavern, orchards and hop gardens for 4075 Rhein florins. The church behind the village had been neglected since 1657. The oldest register of inhabitants dates from 1641, in which 39 families are listed. In 1663, the Jesuit college had repaired the small church on the hill behind the cemetery, so that in 1664 holy masses were celebrated there.

Though certain sports such as lacrosse, tennis, American football, and roller skating were allowed during the 1880s, the commissioners were still reluctant to repeal the "keep off the grass" rules. However, by the 1890s, the regulations against walking on the grass had also been repealed. Tennis nets were installed in Sheep Meadow in 1915 due to the large number of tennis permits distributed by the city that year. There were efforts to demolish the sheepfold as early as 1912, when it was suggested that the Lenox Library be relocated there.

The cave was the first show cave in Switzerland. The cave was known until the mid 19th century as the Trou aux Fayes or "Sheep Hole," as it was used as a sheepfold. The cave was known from Roman times, but was first publicized in 1863 as a tourist attraction, with the present name being used from 1865.

The Farm Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey. It contains the remains of some of the soldiers killed during World War I in the Battles at Gallipoli. The Turks referred to a small stone shepherd's hut on the western slopes of the Chunuk Bair ridge as Aghyl (sheepfold), whilst the Allied troops called it The Farm. The position was captured by Allied troops on 6 August 1915 at the start of the Battle of Chunuk Bair but lost on 10 August in the overwhelming Turkish counter-attack which pushed the Allies back off the ridge, bringing the battle to a close.

In 1880 the situation facing monastic orders in France was highly unfavourable. The monks of Mont-des-Cats Abbey (Sainte-Marie-au-Mont) at Mont des Cats in Godewaersvelde in Nord, northern France, fearing that they were about to be driven into exile, looked for a place of refuge in another country. Abbot Dominique Lacaes sent Father Sébastien Wyart, formerly an officer of the Zouaves, to the Netherlands, where he had many military contacts. Through his former lieutenant, Antoine Arts, and Father De Beer, the superior of the CMM Brothers, he made the acquaintance of the manufacturer Caspar Houben, proprietor of De Schaapskooi ("The Sheepfold"), a group of three farmsteads built by the then Crown Prince Willem in 1834 in Berkel-Enschot to the east of Tilburg.

The story takes place in the Transylvanian village Răchițele, Cluj County, on Wool Day, during which it is said that any celibate man kissing an unmarried woman will take her as his wife. Brothers Tică (Panc) and Horică (Pop), lifelong shepherds at a nearby sheepfold, try to take advantage of the situation when reporters Doina (Grama) and Ela's (Alexa Tofan) car breaks down outside their household; they use their amnesic fellow shepherd and younger brother Bică (Seleși) to create a story about a local strigoi, while trying to hide everything from their restrictive employer Minteuan (Cotimanis). U Get What U Kiss became the third highest-grossing Romanian film of 2018 in its country, gaining over $93,000.

"There has never been an Arab village called Susya," Ben Dahan said, calling the village "a ploy by leftist organizations to take over Area C [of the West Bank]". On 24 August, a further demolition took place. On 29 August 2012 the IDF destroyed a sheepfold and two tents, one a dwelling and the other for storage, donated to the villagers of Palestinian Susya by the United Nations' Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
