The Westbrook High School Bell Ringers are a group of ten student-athletes that perform with a set of forty-four Dutch handbells throughout southern Maine. The California State Normal School Bell, forged in 1881, still graces the San Jose campus. In 1881, a large bell was forged to commemorate the school. The bell was inscribed with the words "California State Normal School, A.D. 1881," and would sound on special occasions until 1946 when the college obtained new chimes. The original bell appears on the SJSU campus to this day, and is still associated with various student traditions and rituals.

Boer War Memorial, Allora, 2015 The Dungarees set out from Glengallan in the early afternoon of 16 November 1915 for the 16 kilometre march to Allora. They stopped at Mount Marshall for afternoon tea, before heading into Allora for the night. The shops were decorated with bunting, the school bell rang out, and the town band accompanied them into town. They stopped to pay their respects at the Boer War Memorial where the Allora Mayor, Cr T Muir, made a speech.

Front view, Block A, 2015 Block A is a symmetrical, masonry structure of two storeys, with an undercroft level. A tall copper fleche projects above the tiled, hipped roof and houses the school bell. The building is U-shaped in plan, arranged around an eastern parade ground, and comprises: a range (1935) running north-south; with two lateral wings, the northern (1934) and southern (1936), running perpendicular on a west-east axis. The first headmaster of Trinity College was J A Kelly who had been headmaster of CBC Perth in 1961. Prior to the demolition of the CBC Building, the Christian Brothers requested permission from Perth City Council to remove artifacts from the buildings. After some reticence the Council referred the Brothers to the demolition contractor who allowed the Brothers to move some relics. The Foundation stone of the 1895 West Wing, the original school bell and eight of the ten chapel windows were taken to Trinity College.

Middlefield District No. 1 School is a historic school building located at Cooperstown in Otsego County, New York. It was built in 1875, and is a two- story clapboard, frame building set on a fieldstone foundation with a rear frame ell. The main facade is five bays wide and features a projecting two- story entrance bay surmounted by a cupola containing the original school bell. The school closed in 1954 and, since 1966, the building has been used by the Town of Middlefield Historical Association.

The original link structure (which held the school bell and the entrance for all pupils except 6th formers) between St. Helen's House and the Pearson Building has been demolished and replaced by a new decorative wall. The former chemistry laboratory, the original headmaster's house (known by many former boys as the Armoury), the cloisters, the wooden gymnasium, the former woodwork rooms and the chapel show a lot of disrepair.

Fuel was formed in 1989 in the western Tennessee town of Kenton when Carl Bell and Jeff Abercrombie, childhood friends, started playing music together in junior high and high school and played in various garage bands. After graduating high school, Bell, who was a few years older than Abercrombie, headed off to college where he met drummer Jody Abbott. Bell and Abbott formed a college campus band, Wanted (along with Robert Wagner and Mark Crawford) in Henderson, Tennessee. The band Wanted transitioned into Phoenix, which was a touring band for the college primarily used to recruit prospective students.

A spinoff of Dragnet, Adam-12 starred Martin Milner and Kent McCord as a pair of LAPD beat cops, and followed their escapades while on patrol. Running till 1975, for a total of seven seasons, Adam-12 was Webb's second-longest running television series, with the eight seasons recorded by the original Dragnet being the longest. Also in 1968, Webb and Johnny Carson performed a sketch on The Tonight Show that has since become known as the "Copper Clapper Caper" sketch. Webb, in character as Joe Friday, was working on the case of a robbery at a school-bell factory.

A truly formidable character and head of "study hall", he suffered no fools lightly. More than once he was known to send a textbook flying across the classroom with unerring accuracy to awaken one inattentive student or another. In 1956, at the request of his school headmaster, he published his first book, a study guide called Study Is Hard Work. Armstrong followed this title with numerous other self-help books, and in 1963 he was awarded the National School Bell Award of the National Association of School Administrators for distinguished service in the interpretation of education.

The last school bell at a Yekaterinburg school, 1968 The last bell (, Poslednij zvonok) is a traditional ceremony in the schools of Russia and some other post-Soviet countries. The celebration is carried out just after all the studies are finished, but before the final exams. The date usually falls on 25 May. The pupils that are about to leave the school don the classic school uniform or formal dress; for the girls it has become customary since the 1990s to attire in the Soviet-style school uniform with white aprons and white bows in the hair.

Both contestants were given the opportunity to guess what word the child was defining by hitting a buzzer to interrupt the video clip and guess the word. Two points were given for a correct answer, and if the player buzzed in with an incorrect guess the rest of the clip was played for the opponent before he/she was given the opportunity to guess. Play continued until a school bell rang to end the game, and whoever was ahead won $500 and advanced to the bonus round. If the game ended in a tie, one additional word was played.

The programme's concept consists of two famous guests meeting together with their old class for a fantastic reunion. The two guests, (and their classes) compete in different games, sports, and activities - always ending with a quiz at the end of the programme to decide a winner. Members of the teams provide anecdotes and memories of their former classmates, and what they did after the school bell had rung for the last time for them. Some of the contestants have been plumbers, school teachers, and dog trainers, and there are reminiscences about who was the best at different subjects.

In addition to the amputation surgeries, Bell was quite fascinated by musket-ball injuries and in 1814, he published a Dissertation on Gunshot Wounds. A number of his illustrations of the wounds are displayed in the hall of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In 1811, Charles Bell married Marion Shaw. Using money from his wife's dowry, Bell purchased a share of the Great Windmill Street School of Anatomy which had been founded by the anatomist William Hunter. Bell transferred his practice from his house to the Windmill Street School Bell ended up teaching students and conducting his own research until 1824.

The exhibit also contains artifacts that tie Carlson to Concordia. On display are the school bell from the schoolhouse Carlson attended in Cloud County, caricatures and political cartoons drawn by fellow Concordian Don Musik, and keepsakes on loan from Carlson’s friends and family. The exhibit showcases keepsakes from the library's grand opening celebration, including the ribbon from the ribbon cutting, an invitation to the event, a grand opening pin, and photographs of Senator Carlson giving a speech on the library lawn. Once the library opened, Senator Carlson celebrated his birthday in the Carlson room each year.

York and Hale cut a version of Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue" for King, with a remake of Roy Brown's "Shake' Em Up Baby" on the flip. That led to York's teaming up with Midwestern Hayride's vocalist Bonnie Lou in a rockabilly project. They recorded "Let The School Bell Ring, Ding A Ling", written by Henry Glover, and a cover of Billy & Lillie's hit "La Dee Dah". By 1958, York had assembled a band, the Cajuns, which consisted of York on vocals and guitar, Bill Lanham on bass, blind saxophone player Jimmy Risch, John Bower on piano, and Rick Lundy on drums.

It retains its gable roof; early timber joinery; single large classroom; generous verandahs (now enclosed) with hat rooms; coved ceiling with latticed vent and tie rod; VJ board linings; and single skin verandah walls. An early school bell hangs from the eaves of the western verandah. The playshed is a good example of its type and retains its hipped timber-framed roof, supported on six braced timber posts. The Maroon War Memorial is important in demonstrating the principal characteristics of its class of cultural places, being a substantial and highly intact commemorative structure erected as an enduring record of a major historical event.

The primary paintings in the interior of the church were covered with new ones in the 1930s. In 1914, there were five bells in the bell tower, which were taken away at the beginning of the war for remelting for military needs. In 1918, when the West Ukrainian People's Republic was proclaimed, the parishioners ordered 5 new bells in Kalush foundry of Fel'chynsky brothers. However, with the new war, the bells were again taken to military needs, only one savvy peasant replaced the biggest church bell with the school bell, hide the church bell and after the war returned it to its place.

The designers of the building are uncertain; a design was prepared by the firm of McKim, Meade & White, but the drawings are credited to one Robert Gordon Hardie, about whom nothing is known. It is possible that Hardie was an employee of McKim, Meade & White. The clock was paid for by a local fundraising effort, and the bell was cast by the Meneely Bell Foundry of Troy, New York and installed in 1893. At the time of its listing on the National Register in 1977, it was the only known operable school bell in the state.

The headmaster threatened punishment as a result. That Friday, after fourth lesson, the boys placed a home-made petard—a small bomb used to blow open doors—against a school door, which was blown off its hinges. Just when they find a window big enough for them to squeeze through, a nearby Rakweed plant unleashes its spores, but just before it strikes Rani and Clyde, the school bell starts ringing, destroying the Rakweed.

When Tyke overhears some teachers discussing the possibility of Danny going to a special school next year, the only option seems to be to help Danny to cheat in the assessment test – a plan which naturally backfires. When Tyke is off sick, Danny is accused of stealing a gold watch and runs away. It is up to Tyke to persuade the headmaster that Martin and Kevin are the guilty ones, and to find Danny. On the last day of school, Tyke decides to emulate Thomas Tiler, a relative, in climbing up the outside of the school and ringing the school bell, which has been silent for thirty years.

The show theme song "Waktu Rehat", is adopted and translated to Malay from the original Italian version (which is also used by most of the international version of the series) and was performed by the cast themselves. The opening title sequence of the series begins by the main characters introducing themselves, this was followed by a scenario where the characters are bored in a comical drawn classroom and waiting for the recess to arrive. The third level of the tower contained the school bell with the rope hanging down into the second level. The central gable section has the main entrance in an elaborate round-arch opening (accessed via a flaring flight of granite steps), with a band of narrow round-arch windows above, and a band of rectangular sash in the gable. Golden, originally home to the second school in Colorado, is today part of the Jefferson County R-1 School District which provides public education throughout Jefferson County, Colorado. The city has four elementary schools, Mitchell, Kyffin, Shelton, and Ralston Elementary in the foothills to the west; one middle school, Bell Middle School; and Colorado's oldest senior high school, Golden High School. In higher education, Golden features the oldest public university in the state, the Colorado School of Mines, which can be found a few blocks south of downtown Golden situated on a hill overlooking the city. Curtis Wolsey Cate Despite the hardships and alterations to his original vision, the Santa Barbara School was renamed the Cate School to honor the headmaster upon his retirement in 1950. As headmaster, Curtis Wolsey Cate was popularly referred to as “The King” by his students. Deeply involved in the school's daily life, he read to his boys every night after dinner and subsequently shook hands with each. The tradition has since manifested itself in the Sunset Ceremony that marks the beginning of each academic year, in which the old school bell is rung and the school's current headmaster reads a passage from Cate's book School Days in California to the student body.

They then realise that the Rakweed's weakness is loud noise, which disrupts its communication signals and prevents it from growing, thus killing it instantly. After escaping from the Blathereen, Sarah Jane returns to find Luke on the brink of unconsciousness. With no time to lose, Sarah Jane makes contact with Clyde, Rani and K9 and after explaining the Rakweed's weakness, they decide to use Mr Smith and K9 to activate all sound-producing devices in the area at the loudest possible frequency. K9 gives Mr Smith the frequency for the school bell and within seconds, all bells, alarms, radios and car alarms go off and the loudness ultimately destroys all the Rakweed.

As the school bell rang and classes began 2000 ft above sea level, accessible only by rickety funicular, the turmoil of the Emergency must have seemed a world away. Due in part to its seclusion, the School quickly became a cosy, self- sufficient and close-knit community, where everybody was regarded as family. Rayburn went to co-educational East Texas Normal College (now Texas A&M; University–Commerce) in Commerce in 1900 with $25 (around $750 in 2020) that his father saved up to help take care of his first few months of college expenses. To help cover tuition and room and board, Rayburn rang the school bell to signal the end of classes and swept out Commerce's public school buildings, earning $3 a month. Rayburn obtained his teaching credentials before completing his bachelor of science degree, and earned additional income by teaching in the public school of Greenwood, a small community in Hopkins County. He graduated in 1903 in a class of 13 (9 men and 4 women) and taught school for two years.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, and graduate of Bishop Benedict Joseph Flaget High School, Bell was the oldest member of a rare three- generation major league family. His son, Buddy, has been a third baseman, coach, manager and front-office executive in the majors, and his grandsons, David and Mike, are both former infielders who have remained in baseball after their playing careers as coaches, managers or player development officials. Gus Bell wore uniform #25 during his nine years with the Cincinnati Reds (known as the "Redlegs" from 1953–58); Buddy Bell wore 25 in tribute to his father during much of his playing and managing career, including his tenure with the Reds. David, named manager of the Reds in , carried on the tradition when he took Cincinnati uniform #25 as well.

In the small town of Oakey Oaks, which is populated by anthropomorphic animals, Chicken Little rings the school bell and warns everyone to run for their lives. This sends the whole town into a frenzied panic. Eventually, the Head of the Fire Department calms down enough to ask him what is going on, and he explains that the sky is falling because a piece of the sky shaped like a stop sign had fallen on his head when he was sitting under the big oak tree in the town square; however, he is unable to find the piece. His father, Buck Cluck, who was once a high school baseball star, assumes that this "piece of sky" was just an acorn that had fallen off the tree and had hit him on the head, making Chicken Little the laughingstock of the town.

The school was built primarily in a Collegiate Gothic style, meant to show a school building that would inspire and last. Carved in Wilkeson sandstone above the doorways were inspirational words such as courage, reverence, grace and "Labor Omnia Vincit" (Labor Conquers All Things). The building was organized with the three wings, comprising the main building, in the shape of the letter Y. The Drost Auditorium, named for Lincoln class of 1938 alumna and former Tacoma School Board President, Betty Drost, is conveniently located for both public gatherings and quick access from classrooms. The tower clock, a silent replacement of the school bell of old, is the dominant feature of the building. Carmen Pata has been the head Strength and Conditioning coach at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls since 2006 after five years of being an assistant football coach and strength coach. Pata has loved coaching ever since, as he is able to help young adults achieve dreams they never thought they could, and it allows him to continue his ancestry of engineers, as he is now a 5th generation engineer. A lasting symbol of Pata's goal to help his student athletes achieve greatness is an old school bell that is rung whenever an athlete has done something that they have never done before, whether it be a new bench press or a new vertical, no circumstance is too little to ring the bell. Carmen Pata has embodied the spirit of UWRF athletics, and continues to improve the campus and community through health and wellness.

Russell continued to release dance singles such as "Tell You Today" (4th and Broadway, 1983), an upbeat dance groove and Loose Joints holdover featuring the vocals of Joyce Bowden. Despite Gibbons's religious predilections, the two forged a dependable (if occasionally tempestuous) working relationship.

But he also was placed in both the Richmond Stakes and Champagne Stakes. 1975 started slowly for Mercer and at the end of April he had ridden only 5 winners, 3 of them for Peter Cundell plus a victory in the Earl of Sefton Stakes for Herbert Jones on Jimsun. Hern's stable was running plenty of horses (including Baronet (Craven Stakes), Harmonise (Free Handicap), Light Duty (Nell Gwyn Stakes) and School Bell (Princess Elizabeth Stakes) all ridden by Mercer) but not winning any and even Boldboy was only second in his opening race of the season. Mercer did not ride Hern's contender for the Fred Darling Stakes (Garden Party) and instead rode the Queen's filly Joking Apart for Ian Balding into 4th place. Bill Curling reports in his book ‘All the Queen's Horses’ that Irish trainer Stuart Murless (a great fan of Mercer's skills) was seeking Joe to ride his filly Nocturnal Spree in the season's first classic the 1000 Guineas.

Much of his work has been influenced by British and American folk art of the 18th and 19th centuries and he has developed a variety of techniques to "age" the paintings, making the portraits appear old like the original naive paintings appear today. His themes are often rooted in nature, work and community and have featured the rural milieus of his native England, while much of his recent work features imagery from his adopted home of California and the American West and portray subjects such as farm workers, cattle herders and farm animals. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in the U.S. and U.K. including the Royal Academy in London and he has contributed illustrations to a number of publications including The New Yorker magazine. While working on his painting and music after art school, Bell lived an itinerant life working on farms and riding, raising, and selling horses and, later, enjoyed a successful career as a museum and gallery exhibition designer in England.

Other elements within the grounds are primarily arranged on two axes: an east-west axis from Inglis Street to Thomas Street (north of Block C); and a north-south axis on the western side of the site (in line with the centre of Block A). The east-west axis comprises a driveway beginning at the decorative, wrought-iron Thomas Street gates. The gates stand between rendered concrete piers and have an archway featuring "WILSTON STATE SCHOOL" lettering welded to iron latticework. Emphasising the east-west axis is a concrete balustrade (1933) that tops the retaining walls, forming the south and west edges of the former parade ground (north of Block C). The balustrade, which steps with the contours of the terrain, has large square piers and decorative concrete balusters. Rounded stairs, located in a break within the balustrade, are aligned with the centre of Block C. A timber bell tower with a gable roof and decorative timberwork is located at the east end of Block A and houses an early school bell.

Chua won her second Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste award at Star Awards 2015. In 2016, Chua participated in Beyond Words a Malaysian production, and was one of the leading actresses for If Only I Could, The Gentlemen and Soul Reaper.
