Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen settled near Prestfoss during 1899. Kittelsen was one of the most popular artists in Norway, mostly because of his fairy tale drawings and evocative paintings of people and trolls, animals and landscapes. Lauvlia, his former home, is located north of Prestfoss along Route Fv287. The surrounding area, with scenic view of Lake Soneren and Andersnatten which overlooks the lake, inspired some of Kittelsen's most famous landscapes. Jacob Melchoir was a Prussian immigrant who began a small brewing enterprise in an old log cabin in the 1850s. These structures have been the subject of subsequent renovations to blend them with the original wing. The State House is set not on a park-like campus, as are many state houses, rather it is integrated into an urban setting along historic State Street and is surrounded by other legislative buildings. The most scenic view of the building is from the west, near the Delaware River, and is the side dominated by the various additions. Viewed from State Street, the dome is scarcely visible and there is little sense of the scale or design of the building.

"Kings and Queens" begins with a framed silhouette shot of dozens of cyclists moving in slow motion, backed by a sunset. From the scenic view of the city's skyline, the cast, crew and other members wrapped up and headed to downtown Los Angeles for scenes involving a horse and a fire thrower, among others. "Kings and Queens" is filled with references to other art forms. The Firth of Clyde at Kilcreggan, with PS Waverley approaching across Loch Long The West Highland Line runs through the county connecting Glasgow to Oban and Fort William and is popular with tourist due to its scenic view of the Highlands. The next section to be upgraded and sealed was from Meekatharra to Newman, a project that would take four and a half years to construct. Due to the remoteness of the location, airstrips were built alongside the highway, so that workers could be flown in from Geraldton. Y Mountain is a mountain located directly east of Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, United States. The Slide Canyon, or Y Mountain Trail, leads to a large block Y located from a parking area at the mountain's base with an elevation gain of . This hillside letter was built over a hundred years ago as the insignia for BYU. The Boyne 100 Road Races, held in Tullyallen, County Louth, Ireland, formed when a meeting of local enthusiasts got together in 2006 to revive the Tullyallen Motor Cycle Road Races, which were last held 40 years ago. The first races took place in 1965 and 1966, organised by the Dublin-based Motor Enthusiasts Club. They intended to also run a car race but decided that the roads were too narrow, and so opted for a motorbike race instead. The 3.2 mile circuit includes a scenic view of the Boyne Valley and the new cable bridge from the paddock area.

Turning southeast travellers have the opportunity to stop at a scenic overlook at Sea Level (0 meters) although the scenic view of the Jordan Valley at this precise point is mostly obstructed because of the surrounding mountains. The NY 431 designation continues along the highway to the Union Falls Overlook, a scenic view in elevation about one mile (1.6 km) into the scenic drive. At this point, NY 431 curves to the south, climbing up the western side of both Esther Mountain and Whiteface Mountain. Upon reaching in elevation, a large building at the top of Whiteface Mountain called "The Castle" becomes visible, and Union Falls Pond can be seen more clearly below. The scenic drive continues up Whiteface Mountain to its summit, which NY 431 ascends toward by way of a pair of hairpin turns just north of the peak.

Ponte Sant'Angelo, originally the Aelian Bridge or Pons Aelius, is a Roman bridge in Rome, Italy, completed in 134 AD by Roman Emperor Hadrian (Publius Aelius Hadrianus), to span the Tiber from the city centre to his newly constructed mausoleum, now the towering Castel Sant'Angelo. The bridge is faced with travertine marble and spans the Tiber with five arches, three of which are Roman; it was approached by means of ramp from the river. Later, the brewing company's name was changed to the Pabst Brewing Company. In 1889, Pabst spent $30,000 to take advantage of prime shoreline along Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin's unique location, just north of the city of Milwaukee, by developing a popular lakeshore resort, which he called the Pabst Whitefish Bay Resort. As many as 10,000 visitors would come to the resort on a summer day by horse and buggy, railroad, trolley or excursion steamer. They came to enjoy the scenic view, to ride the Ferris wheel, attend daily concerts (double concerts on Sunday), rent row boats, watch outdoor movies, drink Pabst's beer and dine on fine fare, including five types of whitefish netted daily in the adjoining bay.

Irwin had met and married his wife Fannie (or Fanny) Ivers Holliday in San Francisco in 1836. By 1904, he was becoming less active with his Hawaiian sugar interests, and built a home in San Francisco with a scenic view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Claus Spreckels lived in the city and had a sugar refinery in the area. Irwin had become affiliated with San Francisco financial institutions since he joined Mercantile Trust Company in 1899. That was followed by his association with Savings Union Bank and Trust Company in 1909, and with the Mercantile National Bank in 1910. Irwin died in San Francisco on January 28, 1914, having retained his British citizenship throughout his life.

This work was inspired by the scenic view upon approaching Jerusalem, the Golden City: âthe cab rounding a corner, the first glimpse of the old city wall, and the city itself hovering behind King Davidâs Gate.â The piece is based on early pictures of the hill upon which Jerusalem sits, and encapsulates the city itself, including important sites: the Golden Gate, the wall and the Dome of the Rock. The border pattern combines a historical Islamic floral motif with the Star of David; this unification of the two symbols represents peace. There are hundreds of small figures represent everyone â those directly affected by events in the region and those who hope for peace there.

The coast of Xianglu Bay is considered the 'symbol' of Zhuhai, offering a scenic view of Zhuhai (Pearl River) Delta with silt-rich water, rocks, and a beach. The famous landmark of the city, the Fisher Girl Statue, stands elegantly on a boulder in Xianglu Bay; the statue is draped by a fishnet and holds a pearl high in the air with both hands up to the sky, symbolizing a vigorous and lively Zhuhai welcoming visitors from all over the world. It was erected in 1982 by a professor from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and is 8.7 meters tall, composed of 70 pieces of granite. In 1960 the completion of Longhorn Dam on the Colorado River created Lady Bird Lake (then known as Town Lake) on the south edge of downtown Austin, Texas. The next year the Austin City Council formed a Town Lake Study Committee to recommend plans for the development of public land on the shores of the new lake. In 1965 the Austin chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction approached the City with a proposal to contribute a civic structure to beautify the Town Lake shoreline. On November 9, 1965, City Council approved NAWIC's plan to build a public gazebo that would provide a scenic view of downtown Austin and of the lake from Auditorium Shores to the south.

Passing through the Monongahela National Forest, US 33 crosses the Eastern Continental Divide between Harman and Onego at about elevation, entering Pendleton County, then descends the Allegheny Front along Seneca Creek, skirting the north end of Spruce Mountain, at the highest point of the Allegheny Mountains. US 33 then joins SR 28 at Seneca Rocks, West Virginia, and continues south in the Potomac River headwaters through scenic forest and farmland landscapes. Turning eastward from SR 28 at Judy Gap, US 33 crosses North Fork Mountain at about , with a turnout on the western slope offering a scenic view of the Germany Valley below and the more distant Allegheny Front from Spruce Knob to Dolly Sods. US 220 joins US 33 for about half a mile in Franklin.

The engineering staff consisted of Thomas York, engineer; Edward Reid and Gil Ford, control engineers; John Rameika, transmitter engineer; and Howard Wessenberg, chief engineer. As the station grew in popularity and more and more area businesses realized the value of radio advertising, WCCC needed more space and moved its studios in the early 1950s into the historic Hotel Bond in downtown Hartford. Located on the twelfth floor of The Bond was the largest ballroom in the state of Connecticut. Offering a scenic view of Bushnell Park, the Park River and the state Capitol building, the room attracted a wealthy clientele and some of the biggest musical performers of the day including Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra, Eugene Ormandy, Nat "King" Cole, and Rosemary Clooney.

Some of the movies shot in Maheshwar including the movie "Ashoka", Tulsi (by actor and director Sachin), Mahashivratri, A R Rehman's music video, Tamil movie Alaipayuthey's song "Snekithanea..." and " yaro yaro di..." directed by Maniratnam, Tamil movie Leelai's song "Oru killi oru killi..." directed by Andrew Vasanth Louis, Yuvan Shankar Raja's musical Tamil movie Arrambam's song "Adadada Arrambame..." directed by Vishnuvardhan. Also starting episodes of Zee TV serial Jhansi Ki Rani were shot here. In the 60's, Mythological film Mahashivratri's shooting was done here and many local artists were given a chance to act in that.

On the western side of the square is a scenic view of the bridge Riddarholmsbron stretching over Riddarholmskanalen and the motorway Centralbron to the islet Riddarholmen and some prominent buildings there, including Riddarholmskyrkan and a few of the palaces. On the eastern side, the street Myntgatan passes between the arcades of two of the buildings of the Parliament, Kanslihuset ("Chancellery House") and Kanslihusannexet ("Annex of the Chancellery House") over to Mynttorget. On the southern side of Riddarhustorget, the alley Storkyrkobrinken leads up to the Stockholm Cathedral and the Royal Palace, while the street Stora Nygatan passes through the western part of the old town and Munkbroleden leads along the western waterfront past the neighbouring square Munkbron. North of the square the alleys RÄdhusgrÀnd and RiddarhusgrÀnd connects to the cast iron bridge Vasabron from the 1870s.

During the Great Depression Baranceanu became involved in the series of work programs initiated by the federal government to keep artists employed during those tough times. Her first mural, done for the Public Works of Art Project of the Civil Works Administration (November 1933 â June 1934) titled San Diego is in the collection of the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C. Other murals were done in anticipation of the California Pacific International Exposition (1935â36) for the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration (WPA). These included Brothers of the Church, Girl with a Fawn, and Progress of Man. She painted oil on canvas murals in the La Jolla post office (Scenic View of the Village) in 1936 for the Section of Painting and Sculpture, and the Roosevelt Junior High School (Building Padre Dam and Potola's Departure) in 1937â38.

The Janiculum is one of the best locations in Rome for a scenic view of central Rome with its domes and bell towers. Other sights on the Janiculum include the church of San Pietro in Montorio, on what was formerly thought to be the site of St Peter's crucifixion; a small shrine known as the Tempietto, designed by Donato Bramante, marks the supposed site of Peter's death. The Janiculum also houses a Baroque fountain built by Pope Paul V in the late 17th century, the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola, and several foreign research institutions, including the American Academy in Rome and the Spanish Academy in Rome. The Hill is also the location of The American University of Rome, Pontifical Urban University, and Pontifical North American College, as well as the Orto Botanico dell'UniversitĂ di Roma "La Sapienza" and the Palazzo Montorio, residence of the Ambassadors of Spain.

Watt Powell Park in 1988 Watt Powell Park was a stadium, primarily used for baseball, in the Kanawha City neighborhood of Charleston, West Virginia. It was built in 1948, and was home to several Charleston minor-league franchises: the Charleston Senators of the Class A Central League (1949-1951) and the AAA American Association (1952-1960), the Charleston Marlins of the AAA International League (1961), the Charleston Indians of the AA Eastern League (1962-1964), the Charleston Charlies of the AAA International League (1971-1983) and Charleston Wheelers, later the Charleston Alley Cats of the Class A South Atlantic League (1987-2004). Watt Powell Park held 4,474 people, and was known for the scenic view of nearby hillsides. Watt Powell also was known for the CSX railroad line hard by the south wall of the stadium; some fans were known to watch games from there rather than pay to enter the stadium.

Scenic view of Pasir Panjang from Chwee Chian Hill where the temple stands today Poh Ern Shih is located on the top of Chwee Chian Hill, off Pasir Panjang Road, on Singapore's southern coast. Facing the hilltop is Bukit Chandu ('Opium Hill' in Malay), where the British East India Company had an opium factory to process raw opium from the Golden Triangle for sale to China and South East Asia in the 19th century. To protect its military facilities in the vicinity, the British colonial government placed heavy artillery guns on Chwee Chian Hill before the onset of the Second World War, in anticipation of seaborne attacks by the Japanese off the coast of Pasir Panjang. During the Battle of Pasir Panjang, Bukit Chandu was the last bastion of the 1st and 2nd Battalion Malay Regiment who, together with the 2nd Loyals Regiment, defended the western and southern parts of Singapore from 8â14 February 1942.

Minerals gathered from the mine was trucked to Kota Belud District before being shipped to Japan for refining. Since its closure and subsequent abandonment, waters have filled the mine which is toxic to consumption due to its highly acidic nature. In 2001, the government of Sabah through Chief Minister Chong Kah Kiat trying to attract the interest among investors to develop the abandoned mine area for tourism attraction which is ideal for resort development with the highland weather, interesting topography and scenic view of Mount Kinabalu despite no further deal are being realised. Further in 2016, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Joseph Pairin Kitingan said the local authorities were looking at the possibility of treating the 20.6 million cubic metre of acidic water at the mine pit to overcome water shortage in Sabah caused by drought although this proposal later were considered by local geologist as unfeasible and costly since even if the water could be treated with acid mine drainage (AMD) method to neutralise its acidity, other minerals and heavy metals are still present in the water that made it unfit for human consumption and need more cost to clean the water.

15c, 1928 The first commemorative stamps, in 1923, celebrated Wilhelmina's 25th anniversary, depicting her with a finely-engraved portrait. The portrait was reused in the definitive series of 1928, which added a steamship to the bottom of the design. In 1934, a series of 17 types marked the 300th anniversary of the colony; designs included portraits of figures significant in history, plus a view of Van Walbeecks' ship. 1936 saw a new definitive series, with the usual lower values as numerals, now vertical in an oval frame, while from 10c on up was a profile of Wilhelmina wearing a sort of shawl or veil drawn back; a depiction of the Queen not seen any other stamps of the Dutch area. 15c, 1941 The 40th anniversary issue in 1938 and the definitives of 1941/1942/1947 reverted to the use of the same profiles of Wilhelmina as the Netherlands and the Netherlands Indies. San Nicolas on Aruba to New York in 1948, using airmail stamps of 1947 and 1942 A set of 15 airmail stamps in October 1942 were bi-colored designs showing airplanes, maps, and scenery in various combinations; they were soon followed by set of six regular issues in 1943 that were also bi-colored, each with a scenic view of a different island.
