Corporations rule America and the daughter of a wealthy CEO, Sylvia Heinrich (Kimberly Page), cooks up a scheme with her boyfriend, David Sands (Larson), to fake her kidnapping and to leave the country with the ransom money.

If the operator pulled and the strap came "loose," the spectator lost his bet. Since the operator could secretly change how the two ends are pulled away, he could always win. Shills would help encourage others to play, make it look possible to win, and give "advice" to the "marks" who tried to win.

However, the fraud was discovered, and after Walton was investigated, it was uncovered that Walton, Scott Beach, and Fetterman were involved in a shill bidding ring and that Fetterman had faked many paintings. After running from the authorities using various aliases and living off his fake paintings he was selling on eBay, he was finally caught indicted by a federal grand jury for rigging art auctions on eBay. James Morgan McGill, also known by his business name Saul Goodman and later known as Gene Takavic, is a fictional character who appears in the television series Breaking Bad and serves as the titular character of its spin-off prequel series Better Call Saul. In "Curtain Call" Face knocks out a guard, steals his uniform, and walks straight into a ranger station controlled by Col. Alice fakes a hand injury to get Codeine, which she secretly feeds to Sonya so she will develop a dependency on it.

The underlying civil case by Multiven against Cisco had been withheld from them.

When Tome and Janry took over the series a couple of references to Gaston were made in the album "La jeunesse de Spirou" (Spirou's youth) where a scam artist is publishing a faux number five album of the Gaston series. And during the tale about Spirou's childhood Gaston's car is seen parked in front of the publishing company. More recently a reference to Gaston was made in the album "Aux sources du Z" (The source of Z) by Morvan and Munuera, when Spirou uses the time shifting machine he remarks that the experience is yucky, almost as bad as the Champagne that Gaston made out of fermented potatoes. Later in that album when Spirou has to use the time shifter once more he remarks that it's time to take a sip from Gaston's Champagne again.

He stole more than 18 million dollars in jewelry and art and he surprised the public and achieved notoriety after he agreed to teach some of his techniques to Law enforcement agencies in a 70 minute training video and after he drew a map from his prison cell that led authorities to a buried treasure in the San Fernando Valley in California. The treasure contained millions of dollars in jewelry that could finally be returned to the rightful owners.

A former nurse, Liuba, seeking marriage through newspaper personal ads, is bilked by a stranger whom she mistakes for her new date. Liuba's elderly, well-to-do girlfriend, Anna Sergeevna is defrauded in a different fashion: having placed a newspaper ad for a piano tuner, she is entrapped by Andrei, who is not only an excellent tuner and musician, but also a reasonably good petty thief and scam artist. Andrei and his current lover, Lina, attempting to further secure the women's trust by returning Liuba's money, which had been scammed yet again by a second potential husband cum con-artist, place their own fake personal ad in a newspaper so as to locate the suspect. Having returned Liuba's stolen money, Andrei finally swindles both Liuba and Anna Sergeevna through an elaborate bank forgery scheme—in a word, a portrait of normal human nature à la Muratova.

Maddie realizes that the older gentleman is a scam artist, and with the hotel detective finds out that he's working for Don Carlos, the richest man on the island. Eva and Maddie escape from the insurance investigator and her daughter to go to Don Carlos, who is feared by everyone who knows him except his firecracker of a Brazilian second wife, who tears into him when his bodyguard, who is her lover and the father of her child, is disturbed by the guard's gratuitous gun fire. Besides cheating old women, Don Carlos also swindles wine snobs by selling them inferior wine with impressive labels from classy estates, though the bottles are occasionally dropped by the older gentleman, who is known under various names including Bix. The story ends on a happy note because Don Carlos gives Eva back her winnings: it turns out that Don Carlos was an exchange student in Liberty, IL, where Eva was everyone's favorite teacher, as has been said by various people who help her along during the movie.

Maggi & Me chronicles the misadventures of a Singaporean scam artist, Johnny Tan (Pang), who, during a phony scene that he set up to scam a couple of old women, accidentally befriends the ghost of a deceased bride (Xie), who under unexplained circumstances, might have been killed on her wedding night. The series' setting is similar to that of the 2005 American film Just Like Heaven. This unusual pairing finds themselves working together in unlikely situations, along the lines of Ghostbusters and Ghost Whisperer, with a little Psych and Jennifer Slept Here thrown in for good measure. Because he is the only one that can see her, Johnny has to keep his sanity because the spirit in question is also suffering from spectral amnesia: It appears that she doesn't remember anything about how she died or her mortal life, except for the letter M that she has on her necklace (the reason is that her name, Emily and her nickname, Em, which is why he decided to name her "Maggi" after the food products of the same name, which also happens to be his brand of cup noodles that he constantly eats).
