The story is essentially a vignette, set in August 1979, spotlighting the Sasquatch Jefferson State Governor Bill Williamson's meeting/photo-op with the Yeti Lama of Tibet, who has been living in-exile in Jefferson ever since China's Invasion of Tibet in 1959. The story gives a quick sketch of Jefferson's history and comparatively open culture, and hints at the broad role sasquatches have played in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.

Big Lez is a humanoid alien who was banished from his home world, the fictional planet of Kingdom Cum. Lez lives in Brown Town with his adopted son Quinton and across the street from his brother, and arch-enemy, Norton. Next door to Lez lives his friends Sassy and Donny, a pair of mysterious and occasionally omniscient sasquatches, who are often the main instigators of their various misadventures. The show's plot revolves around Lez' journey to return to his home planet, and later his war against his family and their army of yellow creatures.

The initial entries describe her troubled relationship with her husband Dan, her lifestyle and the quirky upper-class neighbors of her small Greenloop community. Upon the eruption of Mt. Rainier, the residents decide to shelter in place and wait for rescuers to arrive, relying on the capabilities of their technological homes and rationing to carry them through the coming days. As the National Guard and local officials try to regain control of the Mt. Rainier eruption area, including Seattle, the residents of Greenloop slowly realize how cut-off and unprepared they are. It is then that the wild animals and worse, the sasquatches appear.

Voiced by Jarrad Wright Donny the Dealer, a paler-coloured sasquatch than Sassy, is Sassy's housemate and lifelong friend. Donny owns the local shop and acts as his housemates' arms and drug dealer, procuring a range of items over the series ranging from a flying saucer to an intercontinental ballistic missile. He is also friends with other locals, such as Mike and Lez, sharing their passions for drugs and violence. He seems to be the most sadistic of the sasquatches, having a more irritable personality than his perpetually stoned friends Sassy and Wayne-O, although he is fiercely loyal to his friends and Brown Town in general.

He is intelligent and has a larger general knowledge than most of the other residents, displaying knowledge of Greek philosophy, classical literature, as well as a strong interest in spaceflight and rocket science, which results in one special episode in which he and the Boys meet Canadian astronaut Commander Chris Hadfield and participate in a spaceflight training simulation. He regularly chastises his comrades for being "drunk and on drugs" and gets upset whenever they fight; he is often forced to act as a peacemaker between the two in such scenarios. He also believes in (and harbors a fear of) Sasquatches (which he calls "samsquantches"). When he was age 6, Bubbles' parents fled the trailer park to escape debt collectors, and he was placed with Julian's grandmother.

The Sasquatch appears in the Italian comic series Tex (as a huge wild man with thaumaturgical powers)Tex #221, 222, 223 (March–May 1979) and Martin Mystère. In the non-canon Star Wars Tales comic "Into the Great Unknown" - in which the Millennium Falcon, after a blind hyperspace jump, crash-lands on what appears to be Endor but is in fact the Pacific Northwest around the time of Lewis and Clark, resulting in Han Solo's death at the hands of the natives and the eventual discovery of his body by Indiana Jones (who is disturbed by something "eerily familiar" about the remains) - "Sasquatch" is actually Chewbacca. One of the main characters from the Canadian Marvel Comics superhero team Alpha Flight is Sasquatch.
