The space cruiser S.S. Rustbucket has crashed on Planet 2749 of the Zragg System, and its passengers been taken hostage by Spegbott the Terrible and his minions. Among them is the Princess Amelia, beloved of the Future Knight Randolph, who has now teleported into the wreck of the Rustbucket to defeat Spegbott and rescue her.

Each series has featured some kind of main transportation. The wheeled motor vehicles, appearing like normal cars, are equipped with several pieces of Plumber technology such as a turbo engine, laser guns, and autopilot. They are often destroyed during the series. The Rustbucket and the Rustbucket II, is an old RV resembling a 1973 GMC motorhome owned by Max Tennyson.

He yelled, "Hey, Ted, how do you pray?" Guzda replied, "Pray? Willie, just keep that bucket on your head." Sam Raup, another crewmember, said there were bullet holes surrounding him and he was amazed he didn't get hit. The ship was known as "Rustbucket 552" on the radio circuits.

Mater appears in all Cars video games and with Larry the Cable Guy reprising his role in all video games to date (with the exception of Cars 3: Driven to Win). In the video game Cars, Mater is a playable character in the Arcade Mode, "Tractor Tipping", and "Rustbucket Race-O-Rama" levels. He does commentary for the race in "Radiator Springs Grand Prix" and "Radiator Springs GP". He teaches McQueen how to drive backwards in "Mater's Backwards Lesson".

Despite being old, and even having been destroyed a few times, Max has great affection for it. The Resolute is Tetrax Shard's spaceship The Chimearan Hammer is Vilgax's spaceship Ship is a Galvanic Mechamorph (Upgrade's species) that can transform himself into fully operational technology he's once touched. He merged with the Forever Knights spaceship and became the space transportation for Ben's team during the third season of Alien Force. The Rustbucket III, a Plumbers' jet that Kevin has upgraded with alien tech, later replaced him.

On their first night camping in their grandfather's RV affectionately named the "Rustbucket," Ben finds an alien pod with a mysterious watch-style device named the Omnitrix. The device then permanently attaches itself to his wrist giving him the ability to transform into a variety of alien life-forms each with its own unique skills and powers. With his newfound superpowers Ben has to learn the responsibilities of being a hero.

However, after coming across a strange high-tech watch known as the Omnitrix, which enables him to transform into 10 alien heroes, he finds himself in the position of a superhero. At each place his family stops, Ben goes from trying to find a source of entertainment to doing battle against supervillains such as the mad scientist Dr. Animo, the dark sorcerer Hex, the psychotic clown Zombozo, the technology-loathing Steam-Smythe, and the emotionless Weatherheads, amongst other threats both big and small. Despite having lots to learn, he hones his hero skills with Gwen and Max's help.
