In the spring of 1977 Edith is still lying in a hospital bed with a policeman stationed outside her room and facing charges of attempted murder. The Roscoes visit every day.

After Grace Black (Tamara Wall) falls off the balcony at The Loft, he questions Freddie over his involvement. He then goes to collect Grace's statement, and she corroborates with Freddie's story. After a car is found with Mercedes' blood in it, he goes to the Roscoes' garage, and causes Joe Roscoe (Ayden Callaghan) to become suspicious over Freddie. DS Thorpe later arrives at the Roscoes' house after Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber-Lane) finds out Freddie is leaving.

Zack then tells Theresa he doesn't want their relationship to be about sex, which is agrees to hesitantly. However, Theresa breaks up with him shortly afterward after telling him she doesn't love him. A while after they break up, Zack crashes his new car that he receives for Christmas, angering his parents. Sonia and Zack plan to take the car to the mechanic shop the Roscoes own.

Rivington Hall The majority share of seven-eights of the manor was originally held by the Pilkington family of Lancashire. This share had reduced to five- eights when they sold Rivington Hall in 1611 to their relations Robert Lever and Thomas Breres. A quarter was owned by the Lathoms and an eighth by the Shaws. In 1765 the Shaws and their relations the Roscoes inherited the one- eight share.

Lindsey then phones up Silas telling him to not hurt Mercedes. At the Roscoes, Mercedes tells Silas about Lindsey cheating on Joe with Freddie and going back to Joe after thinking she had killed Freddie. When she comes home, Silas corners Lindsey and says he was wrong about her, before strangling Lindsey off-screen. When Joe, Freddie and Kim come back, they find Mercedes crying on the stairs.

A woman is never simply a "woman" but a "dame", "frail", "quail", "wren" or, if particularly attractive, a "doll" or "cutie". In his comic essay, "Somewhere A Roscoe...," humorist S.J. Perelman both praises and skewers the Dan Turner mysteries.

He later tries to catch Freddie again after Lindsey says where he is, but he is unsuccessful. He interviews Lindsey and Joe after Lindsey sees Grace video calling Mercedes, but Grave convinces Thorpe otherwise. He and Kim trail Lindsey after Kim suspects that she's meeting up with Freddie, but Lindsey manages to avoid them, when Kim thinks she's found another hint to where Freddie is, DS Thorpe rejects it. DS Thorpe is present at the Roscoes' house when Kim reveals that Freddie will go back there, but he leaves after Freddie doesn't show up.

Being aware of the financial difficulty the garage is in, Warren then buys the Roscoes garage from the bank. Darren, beside himself over the identity of his new employer, turns to Clare's sister, Grace Black (Tamara Wall), for help to get rid of Warren but this doesn't work. Grace then later finds out that Sienna is seeing Warren straight after Sienna told her she will never love anyone as much as she did with Trevor Royle (Greg Wood) who she cheated on behind Grace's back so Grace recruits Darren, Maxine and Tony and three of them go to burn down the garage but Grace tips Warren off about the impending arson attack in a bid to win his trust. Grace invites Warren to the club for a business proposition, she then slides a gun over the table to Warren for protection.
