The Totem Pole is a pillar or rock spire found in Monument Valley. It is a highly eroded remnant of a butte.

Castle Rock Spire () is in the Beartooth Mountains in the U.S. state of Montana. The peak is one of the tallest in the Beartooth Mountains, the seventh tallest in Montana and in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness of Custer and Gallatin National Forests. Castle Rock Spire is only WSW of Castle Mountain. The Sundance Glacier lies on the north slopes of the peak.

The Bublimotin, Bubli Motin, Bublimating or Ladyfinger Peak (), is a distinctive rock spire in the Batura Muztagh, the westernmost subrange of the Karakoram range in Pakistan. It lies on the southwest ridge of the Ultar Sar massif, the most southeasterly of the major groups of the Batura Muztagh. The whole massif rises precipitously above the Hunza Valley to the southeast. Bublimotin, while having little prominence above the saddle with nearby Hunza Peak, is particularly notable for being a sharp, relatively snowless rock spire among snow peaks.

It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) (1994) in association with Rampart Ridge. At its very west extremity stands The Spire (), a rock spire high. It was surveyed and named in 1957 by the New Zealand party of the CTAE.

The Spectre () is a prominent rock spire, high, near the center of Organ Pipe Peaks, Gothic Mountains, in Queen Maud Mountains in Antarctica. It was discovered in December 1934 by the Byrd Antarctic Expedition geological party under Quin Blackburn. The allusive name was suggested by Edmund Stump, leader of the United States Antarctic Research Program (USARP)-Arizona State University geological party in the Gothic Mountains, 1980–81.

The nearest taller mountain to Castle Rock Mountain is Castle Rock Spire, east. Castle Rock Mountain is flanked by the Sundance Glacier to the north and the Castle Rock Glacier to the south.

The Monkey Face area has many routes, but is known for the iconic rock spire known as "Monkey Face," a distinctly primate looking face when viewed from certain angles. This iconic tower is 350 feet tall and boasts many routes. One of the more famous routes, Just Do It (5.14c), is still a testpiece for climbers to prove their prowess. Directly across from the "mouth" of Monkey Face is a prominent rock outcropping (The Diving Board) that comes fairly close to the tower.

After his death, a warden at Nahanni National Park Reserve informally started calling the dramatic rock spire, in the midst of Virginia Falls, "Mason's Rock". This usage appears to have become widespread, although it has not yet been made official. His films can be viewed for free on the internet through the website of the National Film Board of Canada.

This is a very large, pointed, rather symmetrical spire which juts out of the ridgeline. North of Trango Tower is a smaller rock spire known as "Trango Monk." To the north of this feature, the ridge becomes less rocky and loses the large granite walls that distinguish the Trango Towers group and make them so attractive to climbers; however the summits do get higher. These summits are not usually considered part of the Trango Towers group, though they share the Trango name.

At an elevation of ,The elevation of Needle Rock includes an adjustment of +1.473 m (+4.83 ft) from NGVD 29 to NAVD 88. the towering rock spire stands tall above the floor of the Smith Fork of the Gunnison River valley. The massive rock feature originated in the Oligocene geological epoch when magma intruded between existing sedimentary rocks as the crown of a buried laccolith or possibly the underlying conduit of a laccolith. Subsequent erosion has exposed the prominent rock formation seen in the natural area today.

Caravans is an Al-Qadim set in which the eponymous caravan serves to move the characters (levels 5-9) across the High Desert in western Zakhara. If the player characters feed the Persian rug Ala'i the Hungry ancient poetry during the adventure, Ala'i gives them clues by blacking in parts of its weave. Other encounters include a talking tent, weird lightning on a high rock spire, broom-wielding copper automatons, giant roc skeletons, bug-eating centaurs, and an efreeti palace beneath the Pit of Ghuls.

Upon returning to Route Zero, the group comes across a large cave dominated by a rock spire, known as the Hall of the Mountain King. There they find various types of vintage electronics in many states of disrepair, including a large amount set on fire. They come across an old man named Donald who appears fixated on a grand computer project involving a "mold computer" that is enhanced by black mold growing inside it, as well as a piece of software designed as a comprehensive simulation called Xanadu.

Close-up of Bublimotin Ladyfinger and Hunza Peak Ultar Sar is the east end of a short, somewhat level ridge, the west end of which is a peak called Bojahagur Duanasir (7,329 m/24,045 ft), climbed in 1984 by a Japanese party. To the northwest of both peaks is the huge pyramid of Shispare (7,611 m/24,970 ft). Along the southwest ridge of the massif are Hunza Peak and the striking rock spire of Bublimotin (Ladyfinger Peak). The glaciers draining the slopes of the massif are (clockwise from north): the Ghulkin Glacier, the Gulmit Glacier, the Ahmad Abad Glacier, the Ultar Glacier, and the Hasanabad Glacier (many of these have other names as well).

When Mara uses the Time Bird's egg to absorb the power of Ramor into herself, he restores the balance before it can be upset by killing Mara with his bow. ;Kiskill :A young woman of an unnamed tribe, and the Nest Guardian's companion on the Pointing Peak, a rock spire at the estuary of the river Dol and the resting place of the Time Bird's egg. Rendered immortal, she was tasked with keeping watch over the egg's nest until the first mortal man, destined to be her mate, would arrive and take her virginity, thereby making her mortal again and ending her millennia-long vigil. This very man is the Stranger, who arrives in Bragon's company; she accompanies him for the rest of the quest, and upon its conclusion marries him, making him the new king of Kiskill's people.

In late July 1974, Eastwood, Kennedy, Hoover, and a small crew traveled to Monument Valley—director John Ford's favorite location for his Westerns—on the Arizona- Utah border to film a sequence that would be used in the film as a practice climb by the main characters of the Totem Pole, a rock spire with an diameter. Located within the lands of the Navajo Nation, the Totem Pole had religious significance to the Navajos who prohibited climbs on the formation. Hoover negotiated permission from the tribal authorities for his team to climb the Totem Pole to remove pitons and other climbing hardware embedded in the structure by previous climbers, restoring the monolith to pristine condition. The ascent was made by two climbers from Moab, Eric Bjornstad and Ken Wyrick, who were tasked with preparing the summit for the helicopter film crew and removing existing hardware.
