The manor fell into disuse during the 1930s and by the 1970s had been removed from local road maps. The Maiden Paps are located close to Shankend.

Highway 99A is a series of former highways in the southwestern part of British Columbia. The Mennonite Church, built in the late 1890s, was used as a house of worship until the early 1930s. In 1988 the building was moved, and reconstructed into a home near its original site. In March 2010, Tsuchiya created Atlas Recycled, a sustainable art sculpture that doubles as a recycling container for aluminum cans and plastic bottles. The 2.1 meter (7 feet) tall sculpture depicts the mythical Greek Titan Atlas bearing the earth on his shoulders. The PA 31 designation began appearing on road maps and signage in 1927. At that time, the western terminus was at the West Virginia line at West Virginia Route 27. The east end back then was still at US 30, unchanged from today. On its way eastward, PA 31 met the southern terminus of PA 28 near Avella, was concurrent with PA 18 and US 19, and traded paths with US 40 in Washington.

William Billy Flemming was born in Gorleston on Sea in 1865. As a young man he worked as an ordinary seaman, working on small sailing vessels on the east coast of England. He is recorded on the 1881 census as a seaman working on the Charlotte Cole. He lived for most of his life in Pavilion Road,County A to Z Atlas, Street & Road maps Norfolk, page 147 Gorleston, just a small distance from the Lifeboat station.
A review of historical Alberta Official Road Maps shows that Highway 1 was numbered Highway 2 prior to 1941 (while Highway 2 as it is known today was numbered Highway 1 prior to 1941). Exit numbering along Highway 1 began in 2005. As of March 2010, only the stretch of Highway 1 between Banff National Park and Calgary had been assigned exit numbers. Between 1964 and 1972, a completely new route from Calgary to Canmore was built.
Paden was one of seven children of John Calvin Oscar Paden (1888-1957), an Arkansas native, and the former Lona Harden Paden (1889-1975), originally from Tennessee. Only one of the seven children, the youngest, Patsy Paden Whitson (born December 7, 1928) of Lakewood, California, survives. He was born in Wagner in northwestern Hunt County near Dallas. The population of Wagner never exceeded fifty persons, and the community is no longer listed on road maps or gazetteers.

Brookhaven was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It first opened around 1884 by the Brooklyn and Montauk Railroad and discontinued as a station stop on October 6, 1958. The Roads Act 1993 gives local authorities the duty to "assign a number or other identifying mark to each local road in respect of which it has responsibility". Local road numbers have been used for administrative purposes since the Act came into effect, but local road numbers did not generally appear on directional signposts until the late 2000s. Most road-maps do not show local road numbers, although some are marked on OpenStreetMap.
State Route 210 (SR 210), also known as Ross Clark Circle or simply "The Circle" to locals, is a route overlaid by US 84, US 231, and US 431 encircling Dothan, Alabama in Houston County. For many years, the SR 210 designation appeared on state road maps but was not actually signed as such. This has changed in recent years and today the SR 210 designation is noted on signs along with the US Routes that share its circumference of Dothan.

A secondary dirt road proceeded southwest to Dunvegan and the current terminus at Grande Prairie. When Alberta highways first received numbers, the present-day Highway 2 was originally designated as Highway 1\. When the major east—west route through Calgary that had been previously designated as Highway 2 was assigned to the Trans-Canada Highway, the province's major north—south route became Highway 2\. A review of historical Alberta official road maps shows this to be the case prior to 1941.

Highly needed materials for tourism such as prospectuses, posters, tourist guides and road maps in the early period of the newly founded republic were prepared and published by the association. Furthermore, it established and organized the first language courses, tourist guide exams, tourism congresses and conferences. After leaving Perth and crossing the Nullarbor, she travelled south from Port Augusta to Adelaide, along the coast through Mount Gambier to Melbourne, then up the Princes Highway through Eden to Sydney. The total distance of this route, taken from road maps and routemarkers, is 4895 km; with an additional 170 km of additional distance on side-roads and excursions making her total journey a little over 5000 km. She completed her journey in 180 days.
It still maintains some Standard-branded stations in all of its former territories, including the former Kyso states, in order to protect its use of the brand in those areas. Following the acquisition by Chevron, the "Kyso" name fell out of use. In 2010, Chevron discontinued its retailing operations in Kentucky, leaving ownership of the Standard trademark in Kentucky in limbo. Though now a defunct brand, Kyso road maps published during the company's prominence in the 1930s and 1940s, are highly sought after by map collectors.

The Manor Hotel is a Victorian hotel in the seaside town of Mundesley-on-sea in the county of Norfolk, United Kingdom.County A to Z Atlas, Street & Road maps Norfolk, It lies on the beachfront of Mundesley, north of Gold Park and just east of the Methodist Church. The hotel was designed by the Norwich architect John Bond Pearce and was inaugurated in 1900. It was the second major hotel to be established in the town, after the Hotel Continental, which was built in 1892.

One of his earliest engraved works, Britannia Depicta, published in 1720, contained over two hundred road maps together with a miniature county map of each of the counties of England and Wales. It followed on John Ogilby's earlier work with updated style of historical and heraldic detail. The roots of digital mapping lie within traditional paper maps such as the Thomas Guide and Geographers' A–Z Street Atlas. Paper maps provide basic landscapes similar to digitized road maps, yet are often cumbersome, cover only a designated area, and lack many specific details such as road blocks. In addition, there is no way to “update” a paper map except to obtain a new version. On the other hand, digital maps, in many cases, can be updated through synchronization with updates from company servers.

Dolph has specialized in highly detailed commercial and custom maps of cities in the southeastern United States, especially within the state of Florida. The company also publishes wall maps, digitally disseminated maps, maps on CD, print street atlases, and has published for phone directories and law enforcement agencies.

While airway beacons assisted aerial navigation on specific routes, most pilots at that time depended on dead reckoning, generally using automobile road maps (such as those from oil companies or commercial mapmakers), railroad tracks and landmarks to find their way. Jeppesen purchased a ten-cent notebook and started writing down detailed notes about his routes. He even climbed hills to determine their height and collected telephone numbers of farmers willing to provide weather reports. Word got around about his "Little Black Book", and soon he was giving copies to his fellow pilots.
Mileham is a village approximately midway between East Dereham and Fakenham in Mid Norfolk with a population of 563 people in 2011. The village sits astride the B1145County A to Z Atlas, Street & Road maps Norfolk, Kings Lynn to Mundesley road that dissects Mid Norfolk west to east. It is the old coaching road from Kings Lynn to Norwich and then on to Great Yarmouth. The name Mileham comes from the presence of a mill; the base of the last one can still be seen from the Litcham Road.

The H.M. Gousha Company was one of the "Big Three" major producers of road maps and atlases in the United States during the 25 years following World War II, making maps for free distribution by oil companies and auto clubs. Following the end of the free-road-map era, Gousha distributed maps through retailers, and published a number of travel guides and other travel-related books. Brands under the Gousha imprint from the 1970s onward included Chek- Chart and Fastmap, one of the first lines of laminate-encapsulated maps.
Harry Mathias Gousha, a sales executive for Rand McNally, left that company in 1926 to start his own map company out of Chicago, quickly becoming Rand McNally's chief competitor by offering the Touraide: a spiral- bound book with road maps, points of interest, and accommodations that was custom assembled for individual buyers. In 1947, the company moved its headquarters to 2001 The AlamedaH.M. Gousha's Move to San Jose in San Jose, California. H.M. Gousha Map Company was acquired by the Times Mirror Company in 1961, and then Simon & Schuster in 1987.

US 319 does not make an appearance on Georgia road maps until October 1937, when the spur from the Florida state line to Thomasville is shown, co-signed with SR 3. Prior to October 1937, US 19 appears as the designation of this section of the route. In July 1941, US 319 was extended from Thomasville, and ran through Moultrie, following what was signed as SR 35 at the time, to Cordele, co-signed with the current route taken by SR 33 from Moultrie. Since late in 1946, US 319 follows its current route.

Boch uses road maps, aerial views, topographic surveys and entire iconography of locating, measing and recording the territory as a raw material for her artworks. As a painter she mixes the colors on her palette to get the desired tone, like a sculptor she takes pieces of the material to give the substance a form. She calls the job she is doing “drawing”: she works with the paper, touching it, sanding, scraping and piercing, until the drawing is revealed in layers. Manipulating maps with hand sewing, she creates sculptural topography.

After crossing the Beaver Kill, NY 206 crosses into Sullivan County, where it goes from CR 7 to CR 91. The junction with Gavette Road on the north side of the Beaver Kill is the location of the fictional hamlet of Agloe, a copyright trap on various road maps. South of the Beaver Kill, NY 206 and CR 91 gain the name of Rockland Road as they run southwest through the town of Rockland. CR 91 ends at a junction with CR 179A (Old Route 17) in the hamlet of Roscoe.

After publishing their own road maps to the city - The Networkbook for urban p/arts in London and Tallermapas in Barcelona - local initiatives further developed in all 3 cities. The Bruxel glocal conference in Brussels' Bozar in February 2003, with contributions by Josep Acebillo, Patsy Healey and others was an attempt to bring artists, activists and researchers from throughout Europe together to think and talk about bottom-up initiatives in a globalising context.

The village and parish of Outwell is on the western edge of the county of Norfolk which borders Cambridgeshire.
The reception area also features more decorative tiles around its walls. Two glass cupolas, which look like piles of tyres, frame either side of the front of the building. The Michelin company's close association with road maps and tourism is represented by a number of etchings of the streets of Paris on some of the first-floor windows. Michelin moved out of the building in 1985, when it was purchased by publisher Paul Hamlyn and the restaurateur/retailer Sir Terence Conran, who shared a love for the building.
Bathurst to Ilford Road is a 72 kilometre New South Wales country road linking the Castlereagh Highway at Ilford to the regional highway hub of Bathurst, where several roads including the Great Western Highway, Mid-Western Highway and Mitchell Highways and O'Connell Road to Oberon join. The road is designated as Main Road 54 but the road signs do not generally show this number. It is fully sealed over its entire length, but many road maps still show sections of it as unsealed. The historic town of Sofala is just off the road, while the road passes through Wattle Flat and Peel.
Cardinal's influence was widely within Indigenous communities. He was one of the first contemporary Indigenous scholars to articulate the notion that Indigenous people could still hold onto traditions while fully engaging in modernity. Cardinal also opened the mindset of the Canadian public to the idea that Indigenous Elders were effectively "public intellectuals," tacitly, raising the profile of Indigenous knowledge. He made further intellectual road maps between Indigenous scholarship and traditional knowledge by articulating the Elders' desires to see Indigenous scholars become familiar with conceptual and theoretical frameworks of Indigenous thought through Indigenous languages in order to maintain cultural strength.
Martin Semchuk and John F. Midgett, both from Meadow Lake, and Jonas Clarke of La Loche were involved in building the original trail in 1955–56. Highway 955 has nearly no intersections with other roads due to its northern location. About one-third of the way to Cluff Lake Mine, there is an access road to Descharme Lake. According to provincial road maps dating from the early 1980s, a seasonal/winter road at one point continued north from Cluff Lake to the shore of Lake Athabasca and then across the lake towards Uranium City, but this appears to no longer be in use.
In Gousha's later years, the company operated out of Comfort TX. Analog maps (large plate, hand etched negatives) and digital maps were produced out of this office. Predominantly, road maps were being produced with a catalog containing the major cities throughout the US. Hundreds, if not thousands, of sources were studied to continually improve and update the cartographic library for veracity of information and viability of sales. Maps could be found in major bookstores, gas stations, and under other companies imprint. Finally, the company was purchased by Rand McNally in 1996; by then, Viacom had become the parent of Simon & Schuster.
State Road 815 was established in the 1945 Florida State Road renumbering. After the construction and opening of Interstate 95 and the Downtown Distributor (SR 970), traffic patterns in downtown Miami were altered, reducing SR 815's importance. Despite remaining a commuting and commercial alternative, the significance of SR 815 faded by the 1980s. First, the designation was removed from the southern half of the route; by 1994 it was barely noted on AAA and Rand McNally road maps; the following year, the Florida Department of Transportation transferred SR 815 maintenance responsibilities to Dade (now Miami-Dade) County control.

Many of these have sadly been taken as souvenirs; there is a program underway to replace these with replicas. Len's legacy is also to be seen on many standard Australian road maps of central desert areas, showing such things as "Len Beadell's Tree", and "Len Beadell's Burnt Out Truck". Mount Beadell in Western Australia was formally named after him by the Surveyor General of Western Australia in 1958.
Route 402, also known as Gallants Road, is a minor highway in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The highway is located about southwest of the city of Corner Brook, approximately 30 minutes by car. The route's eastern terminus is Route 1 (Trans-Canada Highway), and its western terminus at the community of Gallants, located from Route 1. Although no directional signage on Route 1 before the intersection in either direction depict Route 402, but according to some provincial government road maps (as early as the 1980s), Route 402 is the official name of the highway.
Hagstrom Map, based in Maspeth, Queens, was the best-selling brand of road maps in the New York City metropolitan area from the mid-20th to early 21st century. The New York Times in 2002 described Hagstrom's Five Borough Atlas as New York City's "map of record" for the previous 60 years. With the rise of GPS navigation and other electronic maps in the early 2000s, the printed-map business shrank to a fraction of its former size, undergoing extensive consolidation. In 2009, the Maspeth headquarters were shut down; production has since moved to Deland, Florida.
However, the dam ruptured within a few years and the entire West Muncie project was abandoned. Its most enduring legacy was perhaps that Yorktown was erroneously labeled "West Muncie" on some road maps into the 1960s and perhaps later, puzzling most local residents, who had neither seen nor heard the name in any other context. The town has been served by the Big Four Railroad and its successors: the New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail and CSX. The town was also served by an electric interurban line, the Union Traction Company of Indiana and its successor Indiana Railroad, in the early twentieth century.
The original settlement of Double Horn was established near the headwaters of Double Horn Creek in 1855, with the creek and town named for an incident where a pioneer found the remains of two bucks with interlocked antlers. It had a post office from 1857 to 1911, a school (the Double Horn School), a cotton gin, and two churches. In 1884, the population was fifty; by 1896, this population had halved, and by 1936, only the school remained marked on state road maps. Double Horn had completely disappeared from maps as a separate community by the second half of the 20th century.
In 2010 Annemans announced the publication of a new book in which he would outline a blueprint for the "active preparation of Flemish independence." The main point of this book, that was co-authored by Steven Utsi and released in October 2010, is that the Flemings mustn't cling to concrete road maps for independence, but rather pursue an open strategy. With international law at its side, Flanders already possesses some convincing trumps for dismantling Belgium on its own initiative. For the Flemings, everything will depend on properly reacting against each Francophone move, as well as choosing the right moment for exiting the Belgian federation.

Originally named Chelsea when founded in the 1850s, the town name was changed to Simpsonville on April 22, 1858, in honor of an early settler.. Retrieved 28 June 2010. Highway signage and road maps indicate this community is named Thomas, due to a subsequent renaming of the town occasioned in 1913 when the town's application for a new post office—the most recent post office had been closed in 1906 by postal officials—had been rejected on the grounds that a Matagorda County town called Simpsonville had just been granted a post office.
In 1914, humorist Gelett Burgess published a dictionary of original neologisms, Burgess Unabridged: A New Dictionary of Words You Have Always Needed. Humor writer Paul Jennings had published made-up meanings of real place-names in a 1963 essay appearing in The Jenguin Pennings.Ware, Wye, Watford, read by the author. Author Douglas Adams, while travelling with British comedy producer John Lloyd, suggested they play a game he had learned at school in which players were challenged to make up plausible word definitions for place names taken from road maps; the definitions they came up with were later incorporated into a 1983 book, The Meaning of Liff.
State Road 407 (SR 407), known locally as Challenger Memorial Parkway, is a spur from SR 528 (Martin Andersen Beachline Expressway) that links to SR 405. By utilizing the SR 407 to SR 405 route, travelers from Central Florida can access the Kennedy Space Center and the city of Titusville. Some road maps (for example, AAA) show SR 407 between SR 528 and Interstate 95 (I-95) to be a toll road. While no tolls are collected on SR 407 and it is not signed as a toll road, it is impossible to drive on this section without also connecting to or from State Road 528 and paying a toll.
The protect their road the Romans built the settlement of Mansio Scarbia at the Scharnitz Pass, from which the name Scharnitz is derived. The importance of the way of the Seefeld Saddle and through the Scharnitz Pass is evinced by the discovery of a Roman milestone near Partenkirchen; in addition the two most famous Roman road maps, the Itinerarium Antonini and Tabula Peutingeriana name this road as a primary military and trading route. The route was heavily used and probably built as a trafficable road. Remains of this Roman road may be seen near Klais, a section of sunken road there is still visible today with ruts worn into the surface.
Yet other FDOT documents don't even indicate it ever existed. Miami-Dade County planning maps do not show any indication of the existence of SR 9823, except for one that indicated the segment from the Palmetto Expressway to Broward County via Ludlam Road (with a "side trip" along Northwest 68th Avenue and SR 860) was SR 9823\. This is also indicated by a handful of commercially prepared road maps (although a 2004 commercially prepared road map indicates SR 9823—as "County Road 9823"—is strictly Ludlam Road north of SR 826). Yet other sources do not indicate the existence of such a "hidden" State Road at all.
Using fMRI in the resting state and during tasks, functions of the connectome circuits are being studied. Just as detailed road maps of the Earth's surface do not tell us much about the kind of vehicles that travel those roads or what cargo they are hauling, to understand how neural structures result in specific functional behavior such as consciousness, it is necessary to build theories that relate functions to anatomical connectivity. However, the bond between structural and functional connectivity is not straightforward. Computational models of whole-brain network dynamics are valuable tools to investigate the role of the anatomical network in shaping functional connectivity.
Looking east where Panalatinga Road can be extended at States Road and Doctors Road. Since the upgrade of Panalatinga Road, and the termination of the road south of Coxs Hill Road, there has been an open area adjacent to Taylors Road which heads towards the roundabout of States and Doctors Road, that the South Australian Government has owned the land with the intention of eventually extending Panalatinga Road down to this point. This proposed road is listed in some road maps, as Margaret Road. Local power lines have been moved underground in preparation of this change, but the project has never been given the 'OK' to go ahead.
The flights from Hong Kong to Chongqing began in early May 1946. At this time Chongqing had been isolated by Communist forces, and foreign embassies were being evacuated from the city ahead of its expected occupation by the Communists. No navigation aids were available to guide the Australian aircraft, and their crews had to use inaccurate road maps for navigation during the trips between Chongqing and Hong Kong. The RAAF aircrew found the flights between Hong Kong and Chongqing to be challenging as a result of mountains around the Chinese city, as well as the expected lack of accurate weather forecasts and navigation aids.
A map of the Trans-African Highway network A road map, route map, or street map is a map that primarily displays roads and transport links rather than natural geographical information. It is a type of navigational map that commonly includes political boundaries and labels, making it also a type of political map. In addition to roads and boundaries, road maps often include points of interest, such as prominent businesses or buildings, tourism sites, parks and recreational facilities, hotels and restaurants, as well as airports and train stations. A road map may also document non-automotive transit routes, although often these are found only on transit maps.
LA 182 now follows the former route of US 90 through the area. The legislative description for Route 479 also reflects the fact that the route originally ended at the Duchamp Plantation Road a few miles west of St. Martinville with State Route 235 continuing the route into town. Road maps from the era generally show the entire length as Route 479, possibly due to a necessary lack of detail at that scale. However, the entire route between Billeaud and St. Martinville was officially designated as Route 479 sometime before the 1955 Louisiana Highway renumbering with Route 235 truncated to the modern intersection of LA 96 and Duchamps Road.
Hansen was born in Zenith (now Teton County but then Lincoln County), a settlement so small that it is no longer listed on Wyoming road maps, and was the son of Sylvia Irene (née Wood) and Peter Christofferson Hansen. The senior Hansens were ranchers originally from Idaho: Peter, of Danish extraction, came from Soda Springs, and Sylvia, of English descent, was born in Blackfoot. Peter Hansen, who had some college training, was a "practical" engineer who did surveying and ditch work on ranch lands. Clifford Hansen was reared in Jackson Hole, a high-mountain valley that includes what is now Grand Teton National Park.
Gagetown Parish is defined in the Territorial Division Act as being bounded: :Northwest by the County line; southwest by Petersville Parish; northeast by the Saint John River; south and southeast by a line beginning on the western shore of the Saint John River at the northeast angle of lot number thirty-seven, granted to George Sweet; thence westerly along the northwest angle of same; thence south fifty-two degrees west, or to the southeast angle of lot number twenty-five, granted to T.T. Hewlett, on the northwestern side of the Gagetown Road,Road is within CFB Gagetown and no longer appears on provincial road maps. Cadastral maps label it the Lawfield Road. including Grimross Island.
The Lam Pao reservoir effectively cuts the northern part of the province in half, but there are car ferries connecting the district of Sahatsakhan in the east with the district Nong Kung Si in the west, saving up to one hour off the journey by road. On the northwestern creek of the reservoir a road bridge connects the village of Ban Dong Bang in the west with the district town of Wang Sam Mo in the east. Although the bridge was constructed several years ago (pre-2000) it is not featured (2006) on any commercially available road maps. The Phu Phan mountain range marks the border with Sakhon Nakhon Province, part of which is preserved as a national park.
It then followed Main Street through town, state-maintained today as part of LA 3081 and LA 3081 Spur, and rejoined the present alignment at LA 41 (Watts Road). Maps from 1939 indicate that US 11 briefly continued along the former route of US 90, turning southeast onto LA 433 to an intersection with current US 90 at the Rigolets Bridge. Including the concurrency with US 90 into Downtown New Orleans, this routing would have represented the longest expanse of US 11 in Louisiana, totaling . The permanent re-routing of US 11 as approved by AASHO became effective on . At this time, US 11 assumed its present routing across Lake Pontchartrain via the Maestri Bridge.

Even though legal authority for the erection of directional signposts was given to local councils, the Automobile Association of Ireland began an extensive road signposting scheme in 1938 which included comprehensive signposting of routes from Belfast, Cork and Dublin. AA Ireland: History Evidence that the Trunk Road and Link Road classification and numbering system had been well established by the 1950s is found in Statutory Instrument S.I. No. 284/1956 — Traffic Signs Regulations, 1956 which contains examples of several directional signs. The first and second examples show the T8 as the route to Wexford and Rosslare. In addition, Esso road-maps of Ireland from the 1950s show the Trunk and Link road network.
West Downham is a small Fenland parish in the west of the county of Norfolk. There is no village called West Downham within the parish, only a small hamlet which is called Salters Lode. The hamlet is strung out along the A1122 roadCounty A to Z Atlas, Street & Road maps Norfolk, that hugs the drains and the course of the Great Ouse river, and consist of a few isolated farms standing out in the Fen. The name of Downham comes from the Old English meaning 'homestead on a hill',Dictionary of English Place-Names: By A D Mills (Oxford, Oxford University Press) and West designation from the direction from nearby Downham Market.
The autostrada A3 was a planned motorway from 1993 to 2001 that was supposed to be built in western Poland. It was planned to begin in Szczecin, link Zielona Góra, Bolków and end in Lubawka on Polish-Czech border. Some road maps published in 1990s had an approximate route of the motorway, which in some places was different than planned nowadays route S3, most notably the autostrada was supposed to form north-eastern bypass of Legnica while S3 was constructed as its western bypass. One legacy of the road having been planned as an autostrada is that it was being built on a completely new alignment some distance away from the parallel DK3 road from the beginning.
The official State Highway map shows this road terminating at Maricopa at the junction with State Route 347. Since its upgrade to a paved highway, this road has become a common shortcut for residents of the southern part of the Phoenix Metro Area travelling to Yuma and San Diego. Some road maps show a continuation of the route eastbound; after briefly overlapping a short southbound stretch of State Route 347 (also, confusingly, known as Maricopa Road or the John Wayne Parkway), the highway beelines southeast to its eastern terminus at Casa Grande; this stretch of the highway is known as the Maricopa- Casa Grande Highway. According to ADOT, this section of road is not currently commissioned .
Tolls on the east-pointing ramps at SR 520 are collected by FDOT, and 25 cents of the $1.25 CFX barrier toll east of the airport also goes to FDOT. There are no toll roads in Brevard County so technically the 25 cents is only for use of the FDOT road section in Orange County. Nonetheless, most road maps show the Brevard County section from the Orange County line to I-95 to be a toll road because it is impossible to travel over it without incurring a toll elsewhere. The Toll SR 528 shield is also used on this stretch of road as well as on exit signs along I-95.
The rendering of roads in most city and town maps uses the traditional drawing of two lines with the road name printed in-between, (known as 'double casing'). In the UBD Melbourne directory Universal Press (2003) UBD 2003 Melbourne & Surrounds Street Directory 38th Edition maps show a single line with the name above or below the road to make it more appealing to people familiar with the Melway street directory. This mapping style is also used for road atlas maps and main road maps. UBD products are notorious for continuing to contain copyright traps: fictitious streets or buildings or other features, included for purposes of identifying competitor's products that have copied UBD's data without fieldchecking it.

Modifying the same aircraft to use a 100 horse power engine, Trout flew from Clover Field in Santa Monica, California to the first Women's Transcontinental Air Derby together with other women aviators including Amelia Earhart. During the 8 day course, they experienced difficulties navigating through the road maps, Trout, Earhart, Gentry and the other ladies managed to communicate under such circumstances this led to the development of the Ninety-Nines: International Organization of Women Pilots.
In October 2006, sites leaked ATI chipset updates that ATI will also introduce a chipset connecting two AMD processors and four PCI-Express graphic cards, dubbed as "790FX chipset" (codenamed RD790), which provides PCI Express slots of x8-x8-x8-x8 configuration, and was available during the first half of 2007. In September and October 2007 news sites reported that AMD had dropped Quad Phenom from their road maps. Source also revealed that a revamped "580X" chipset, which is due first half of 2007, will allow two CPUs and at most three graphic cards to run on the same board, but was obviously cancelled as AMD demonstrated the 790FX chipset recently in internal events and Computex 2007 instead of a revamped 580X chipset.
Kentucky Route 218 begins at the unincorporated Hart County community of Northtown west of Interstate 65 (I-65). It is the beginning of state maintenance as the main road west of Northtown is actually a back road (Flint Ridge Road) that leads to the Mammoth Cave National Park, and would provide a direct link to the park's visitor center. The official Kentucky road maps do not show this section of KY 218 because of its western terminus is intersecting another back road and not a major road or highway. It crosses I-65 near a local Love's Travel Stop, and enters the town of Horse Cave, which is part of a tourism hotbed in southern Kentucky due to its proximity to the Mammoth Cave park.
Despite decades of development of decision support system and methodologies (like decision analysis), these are still less popular than spreadsheets as primary tools for decision-making. Decision intelligence seeks to bridge this gap, creating a critical mass of users of a common methodology and language for the core entities included in a decision, such as assumptions, external values, facts, data, and conclusions. If a pattern from previous industries holds, such a methodology will also facilitate technology adoption, by clarifying common maturity models and road maps that can be shared from one organization to another. The decision intelligence approach is multidisciplinary, unifying findings on cognitive bias and decision-making, situational awareness, critical and creative thinking, collaboration and organizational design, with engineering technologies.
Road maps can also vary in complexity, from a simple schematic map used to show how to get to a single specific destination (such as a business), to a complex electronic map, which may layer together many different types of maps and information – such as a road map plotted over a topographical 3D satellite image (a viewing mode frequently used within Google Earth). Highway maps generally give an overview of major routes within a medium to large region ranging from a few dozen to a few thousand miles or kilometers. Street maps usually cover an area of a few miles or kilometers (at most) within a single city or extended metropolitan area. City maps are generally a specialized form of street map.

Crossing the Withlacoochee River, the Pasco-Polk border is replaced by the Pasco-Sumter border, and the landscape described earlier continues. Eventually it enters part of the Withlacoochee State Forest, and some distance later, the Pasco-Sumter Line is replaced by the Hernando-Sumter Line. After leaving the forest the road crosses over the Little Withlacoochee River where the Hernando-Sumter border turns west, and SR 471 is now entirely in Sumter County. Eventually, the road slows down into Tarrytown, Florida where it approaches a lumber mill, and crosses the former right-of-way for the Orange Belt Railway just south of the intersection of State Road 50. North of Tarrytown, SR 471 becomes as straight as road maps incorrectly indicate it to be south of Tarrytown.

Founded in 1958, it is the principal publisher of cartographic material in Israel. Carta publishes Israel's national atlas, as well as road maps for motorists, a bilingual gazetteer (The Toponomasticon: The Book of Geographical Names)Important dates in the history of the Survey of Israel (Previously Survey Department and Survey Bureau 1993-2009) which uses material from Israel's Survey of Israel geographical database, 1:500,0000 scale maps of Israel and Jordan and a digitized map collection on CDs. An abridged version of the Toponomasticon is also available as part of a 1:100,000 atlas published in 1994.
The Automobile and Touring Club of Greece ( (ΕΛΠΑ), Elliniki Leschi Periigiseon kai Aftokinitou, ELPA) is a Greek motor sports organisation which organizes every racing event in Greece, including the world famous Acropolis Rally. Founded in 1926 and a member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the International Federation of Motorcycling (FIM) since 1927, ELPA services Greek and foreign motorists inside and outside Greece. Before World War II, ELPA had undertaken putting up traffic signs along the Greek road network, an effort financed from its own funds and continued until 1957, when the Greek Government undertook this responsibility. ELPA is also actively engaged in the tourist services sector, providing information and publishing maps - the first road maps of Greece were created by the ELPA.
Several old alignments (most are two-lane) of SR 5 exist throughout the state with the most notable examples being near the Mississippi state line, a section of old highway 45 between Bethel Springs and Selmer, Tennessee State Route 367 through Trenton, and a long stretch of old highway between Trenton and Rutherford. Originally, SR 5 north of Trenton followed a much different route from the current alignment. From Trenton, SR 5 bent to the northeast, following the old Dresden Road as far as Greenfield, where it turned north and roughly followed the present-day SR 43. As evidenced by road maps published by the National Map Company and Rand McNally, sometime between 1927 and 1935, SR 5 was rerouted to follow the former SR 41 north to Kenton and on to Union City.
In the 1980s, the route of SR 716 was shown to extend westward from its current terminus at Florida's Turnpike to Interstate 95 (I-95), heading west and then south along Port St. Lucie Boulevard before turning westward along Gatlin Boulevard (formerly Savage Boulevard) towards I-95. Currently, that section is marked "active off the SHS" on the FDOT Straight Line Diagram for SR 716. As recently as 2000, a mileage sign on I-95 heading north after the interchange with Martin Highway (SR 714) listed "SR 716" as the next exit; it has since been covered over and now reads "Port St. Lucie." As late as 2006, many current editions of commercially-prepared road maps incorrectly show SR 716 with its original alignment west of the Turnpike, along Gatlin Boulevard west towards its interchange with I-95.
After FDOT started phasing out a set of Florida State Roads in the late 1970s and early 1980s and reverted them to county maintenance, many State Roads disappeared from road maps, and many others were greatly truncated or transformed. One such drastically-affected road was SR 30A, which formed a loop in Gulf and Franklin counties. Historically, SR 30A veered southward from US 98/SR 30 south of Port St. Joe, near the communities of Oak Grove and Ward Ridge, and followed Sand Bar Road along the shoreline of St. Joseph Bay past the St. Joseph Point Lighthouse before turning to the east to follow the shore of Bay San Blas, Indian Lagoon, and Saint Vincent Sound before rejoining US 98/SR 30 east of Nine Mile. Today, only the north–south section is still signed SR 30A.
A celestial map from the 17th century, by the cartographer Frederik de Wit Cartography or map-making is the study and practice of crafting representations of the Earth upon a flat surface (see History of cartography), and one who makes maps is called a cartographer. Road maps are perhaps the most widely used maps today, and form a subset of navigational maps, which also include aeronautical and nautical charts, railroad network maps, and hiking and bicycling maps. In terms of quantity, the largest number of drawn map sheets is probably made up by local surveys, carried out by municipalities, utilities, tax assessors, emergency services providers, and other local agencies. Many national surveying projects have been carried out by the military, such as the British Ordnance Survey: a civilian government agency, internationally renowned for its comprehensively detailed work.
For this reason, the Common Spaces receive funding from the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI), which also funds the ENP. At the St. Petersburg Summit in May 2003, the EU and Russia agreed to reinforce their co-operation by creating, in the long term, four common spaces in the framework of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement of 1997: a common economic space; a common space of freedom, security and justice; a space of co-operation in the field of external security; and a space of research, education, and cultural exchange. The Moscow Summit in May 2005 adopted a single package of Road Maps for the creation of the four Common Spaces. These expand on the ongoing cooperation as described above, set out further specific objectives, and determine the actions necessary to make the common spaces a reality.
The portion of what is now US 29 from the North Carolina state line to Warrenton was named the Seminole Trail by an act of the Virginia General Assembly on February 16, 1928. Although it was apparently not part of the National Auto Trails initiative early in the 20th century, the Seminole Trail is believed to have originated as part of an effort to promote the road as a through-route to Florida, home of the Native American Seminole tribe. Many road maps of the 1930s and 1940s list the Seminole Trail on highways in Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia and ultimately Florida. In an October 4, 2006 meeting of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, the University of Virginia athletic department and basketball coach Dave Leitao suggested that Seminole Trail in Charlottesville should be renamed Cavalier Way.
Gordon Parish is defined in the Territorial Division Act as being bounded: :Southerly and southeasterly by Carleton and York Counties; easterly by Northumberland County; north by a line run true east and west from the foot of Long Island,The line now runs from the foot of an unnamed island downriver of Long Island; apparently Long Island has broken into several islands since the parish was erected. in the Tobique River; and westerly by a line commencing at a point where the Royal RoadThe Royal Road does not appear on provincial road maps but does appear on cadastral land grant maps. intersects the line between the counties of Carleton and Victoria; and running along the said Royal Road northerly to a point eight miles north of the Tobique river; thence a course north forty-five degrees east, until it strikes the north boundary of the parish.
The first portions of the roadway that is signed as SR 53 today makes its appearance on Georgia state road maps in 1921, which show the portion of the route from south of Calhoun, through Fairmount, and on to Jasper. That entire portion was already signed as SR 53 at the time; however, this designation was also used in 1921 for the road connecting Calhoun with LaFayette and Chattanooga in Tennessee, which is signed as SR 136 today. By 1926, the Calhoun-to-Fairmount portion was shown as having a sand, clay, or topsoil surface, while the Fairmount-to-Jasper portion appeared as being graded but unimproved. By 1929, the stretch from Rome to Calhoun had been added and signed as SR 53, with the southern half having been finished in a semi-hard surface, and the northern portion being surfaced with one of the soft surface materials.
Redcliffe is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located in the City of Belmont local government area. The boundaries of the suburb are determined by the Great Eastern Highway, Tonkin Highway and Epsom Avenue, Belmont, and the grounds of the Perth International Airport which lie on the eastern edge of the suburb.In road-maps of post 2012, the airport is located in its own locality - Perth, Airport with a post code of 6105 - see maps 345 and 375 of The story of its name is ambiguous: while some claim it was named after steep red clay deposits that lined the banks of the Swan River when settlers first arrived, others claim that it was named after the ancestral home of an early settler. The suburb was once a single property near modern-day Water Street and the main house, "Nulsen Haven" still stands today.
During the automobile era after the First World War, the road saw improvements and new alignments to efficiently move cars and trucks through the Fraser Valley. After Sumas Lake was reclaimed and converted to farmland in 1925, the highway was re-routed off the old Yale Road route in a more direct alignment through the eastern Fraser Valley between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Though unpaved, the road was deemed passable by automobile in the mid-1920s; Realignments and pavement came in the 1930s along with renaming as the Fraser Highway (designated as "Highway 'A'" on road maps). As the Trans-Canada Highway (designated Highway 1 in 1941), the old Yale Road route saw further abandonment as the main highway of the valley with the by-passing of the Chilliwack-Rosedale-Bridal Falls section (constructed circa-1958-60) and the Fraser Highway section between New Westminster and Abbotsford by the “401” Freeway (constructed 1960–64).
However, as late as 1929, the Izaak Walton League wrote of access to the falls saying: > The unspoiled charm of Cumberland Falls is due to the fact that the falls > are difficult to reach ... Road maps show roads leading from Corbin, twenty > miles to the northeast, and from Williamsburg, eighteen miles from the > southeast, but both these are so rough as to be practicable only for saddle- > horses. In 1928, a proposal to accept the falls as a park was brought to the floor of the Kentucky Senate but was defeated. In the late 1920s, there were plans to build a hydroelectric power station upstream, and divert the river through a mountain tunnel to a point below the falls. However, the Cumberland Falls Preservation Association, formed by businessman Rober Blair, convinced T.
