Paquet rejected all forms of Idealism in favor of the sensory world. Insofar as he considered human beings to be no more than fragments of nature, thought was considered by him to be the result of cerebral processes which operate largely beneath the level of consciousness. He insisted on the pre-eminence of the body and the fact that, for this reasons, consciousness observes the results of thought, but does not bring them into being. Inspired by Nietzsche's notion of Eternal Recurrence - which Paquet treated not as a doctrine but an operational principle, that is as a means of disentangling ourselves from secondary aspects of our identity (determined by cultural, religious and moral factors) in order to recover our primary nature - he considered a return to the body as the sole ethical value.Platon, l’éternel retour de la liberté, op.cit. He developed this Spinozan theme in a number of different directions: ontology (L'enjeu de la philosophie, Platon: l’éternel retour de la liberté), political philosophy (Nous autres Européens, Le Fascisme Blanc) and esthetics, the latter in particular in relation to painting which he defined as the art of rendering the sensory visible.

The narrative blurs the line between prose and poetry, resembling haiku structures in some sections. On 12 December 2013, Laferrière was elected on the first round of balloting to Seat no.

According to historians, this document is more accurate than Las Cases' "Memorial de Sainte Hélène" which reached a much larger amount of readers in the 19 century as it was designed for propangadistic purposes.
As many other French female singers of the 1980s such as Sabine Paturel or Desireless, she fell again into anonymity. After making a comeback on French television, Bibie released an album in 2004 in the musical style of Tracy Chapman. If the opposing team believes that the declarer will lose the game, they can double the stakes (known as spritzen or, regionally, flecken, schießen or kontern). The contract is then worth double points. With the announcement Retour or Kontra or Zruckgspritzt the player (or his partner) may double it again, if he is nevertheless sure that they can win the game. This can be responded to again with the declaration Re or nuamoi zruckgspritzt, whereupon a win would bring eight times the actual number of points - but this kind of thing does not happen very often.

Delarue wore a very visible earpiece during the programmes and came to be known as "L'homme à l'oreillette" (The man with the earpiece). He offered the following explanation for the prominent earpiece: "J'ai pris une oreillette visible parce que ça signifiait qu'une émission, c'est un travail d'équipe qui ne repose pas seulement sur les épaules d'un animateur." (I chose a visible earpiece because that demonstrated that a programme depends on teamwork and not just on the presenter). In 1995 he produced and presented two new weekly programmes, again for France 2: Déjà dimanche (Sunday already) and Déjà le retour (Already back again).

By the middle of 1996, the situation in eastern Zaire was simmering with tension. Following the Rwandan genocide in 1994, hundreds of thousands of ethnic Hutus had fled across the border into Zaire where they settled in large refugee camps. Many of those responsible for the genocide, the former Rwandan Armed Forces (FAR) and interahamwe militia, used the anonymity offered by the camps to reorganize into the rebel Rassemblement pour le Retour et la Démocratie au Rwanda (RDR). The RDR began to use the camps as bases to infiltrate back across the border and conduct an insurgency.

He was a student of the Count de Ruille and was himself a count and thus enjoyed a life of privilege and nobility, spending all his life in the centre of France, in Orléans and Olivet. He often went hunting on horseback with friends in the woods nearby (Orleans forest, Sologne), and some of his works are related to hunting, for example le piqueux, la curée, and retour de chasse. He went twice on trips to Algeria in 1899 and 1910, and these trips gave him inspiration for some works which are still very appreciated: jument arabe, fauconniers, and fantasia.

Paimpont forest (, ) also known as Brocéliande forest () is a temperate forest located around the village of Paimpont in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in Brittany, France. Covering an area of 9,000 hectares, it includes the castles Château de Comper and Château de Trécesson as well as the national historical site of the Forges of Paimpont, and is part of a larger forest area that covers the neighboring departments of Morbihan and Côtes-d'Armor. It has been associated with the forest of Brocéliande and many locations from the Arthurian legend, including Val sans retour, the tomb of Merlin, and the fountain of Barenton.
Between the two world wars, the forest has been part of the hunting grounds of the Duke of Westminster. During World War I, the forest, deprived of most of its guards, was affected by major fires of unknown origin. During World War II, paratroopers of the SAS of Free France were dropped to join the partisans of the FFI in the forest with the mission of delaying German reinforcements as part of the Normandy landings in 1944. In September 1990, a great fire devastated the forest of Paimpont and especially the Val sans retour, raging for five days.
Le Retour de Jean was influenced by the short period when Clouzot lived in Germany in the early 1930s and stars Louis Jouvet as a survivor of a concentration camp who finds a wounded Nazi war criminal whom he interrogates and tortures. Clouzot's next film was the comedy Miquette et Sa Mère, which was a financial failure. During the film's production, Clouzot met Véra Gibson-Amado, whom he married on 15 January 1950. Clouzot and Véra took a film crew with them to Véra's homeland in Brazil for their honeymoon, where Clouzot made his first attempt at directing a documentary film.

Often linked with Carlo Ginzburg's microhistory The Cheese and the Worms about the radical miller Menocchio, Davis's book grew out of her experience as historical consultant for Daniel Vigne's film Le retour de Martin Guerre. Her book first appeared in French in 1982 at the same time as the premiere of the film. Davis's interest in story- telling continued with her book, Fiction in the Archives: Pardon Tales and their Tellers in 16th-century France (1987), a study of the stories people of all classes told to the king to get pardoned for homicide in the days before manslaughter was a possible plea.

Everyone in Paris and its suburbs were conscripted to get the preparations done as quickly as possible, with the coffin's return voyage being faster than expected and internal political problems having caused considerable delays. From the Pont de Neuilly to Les Invalides, papier-mâché structures were set up which would line the funeral procession, though these were slapped together only late on the night before the ceremony.

Over the next several years, Mobutu gradually instituted the policy measures that would come to define the campaign. More than anything, the retour à l’authenticité ("return to authenticity") was an effort on behalf of the self-declared "father of the nation" to create a national identity that could take precedence over regionalism and tribalism while reconciling those claims with the exigencies of modernization. He described the ideology as follows: > Authenticité has made us discover our personality by reaching into the > depths of our past for the rich cultural heritage left to us by our > ancestors. We have no intention of blindly returning to all ancestral > customs; rather.

Chardin wrote the recitatives of Paisiello's Le Roi Théodore à Venise,Le Roi Théodore à Venise on Gallica when this work, translated by Moline, was performed at the Opera on 11 September 1787. It is also necessary to add to the list of his dramatic productions l'Amant sculpteur, opéra comique in one act which was performed at the Théâtre-comique et lyrique in 1790. When in 1792, Piis and Barré established the Théâtre du Vaudeville, they hired Chardin as a "teacher" of their young artists, and as a composer and arranger of the music for their plays.
An objective and rigorous method, independent of the painter, replaces emotion or sensibility in the determination the placement of form, that is, through translation and rotation. According to Gleizes, 'translation' represented an unfolding of planes as seen against the surface of a painting (a square or rectangular); 'rotation' occurred when these planes began to shift around a central point.Albert Gleizes, Homocentrisme ou le retour de l'homme Chrétien, Sablons: Editions Moly-Sabata, 1937, p. 13. In La peinture ou de l’homme devenu peintre, Gleizes writes: > Painting by its nature is not a spectacle, nor an object seen via a point of > perspective, it is instead its own object.

Project Retour was a grass roots, pilot project initiative focused on finding solutions to the "brain gain, brain drain, brain circulation" phenomenon that was occurring in Hungary. It involved facilitating the return of migrant degree holders by returning young Hungarian citizens and professionals to Hungary from around the world by establishing global, local and virtual networks and communities through the media and via the Internet. Sephier was drawn to the project as she was a Hungarian who had left her homeland to study in the west. In a tradition in Brittany, France, Morgan is said to have turned her unfaithful lover Guiomar, also known as Guyomarc'h, and the woman he betrayed her with, into a rock known as the Rocher des Faux-Amants (the False-Lovers' Rock). It is located on the ridges of the Val sans Retour (the Valley of No Return, also known as the Perilous Valley or the Valley of False Lovers) within Paimpont forest. Sir Guyon is the protagonist of Book II of Edmund Spenser's 1590 The Faerie Queene. In a reversal of the legend, it is he who frees the knights held captive by Acrasia, one of the book's Morgan counterparts.
For the first time in 2007, in La Maison du retour (2007), he evokes his captivity, his hostage position and the moments that followed his return, the painful relearning a "normal" life, his inability to read, him the literature enthusiast. As in all Jean-Paul Kauffmann's books, everything is written in a hushed tone through the history of buying a house, a den or an airlock to return to his family, towards life. An amateur of Bordeaux wines, he has published several books on this subject. With Courlande (Fayard, 2009), the story of a journey is the plot of several quests including that of the identity of a country, Courland.
It was also during this period that he added another title to his long list of accomplishments: novelist. In 1926, he published his first novel, La Route du plus fort (The Road of the Strongest), an overview of colonialism more critical than he could ever have made in his scholarly works. Two years later, he published his most acclaimed work of fiction Le Retour à l’argile (Return to Clay). In his earlier book, In the Shadow of Angkor, he had indicated that he had no desire to write about Phnom Penh, as it was of little interest to him in comparison with the country's ancient temples.

Although the theatre was meant to be temporary and was built of wood and plaster, it continued to be used by the Opéra for more than fifty years. He wrote extensively in the magazines and newspapers of his time, notably in the Courrier du Canada, L'Événement, Soirées Canadiennes, Foyer Canadien, and in La Ruche littéraire, where he signed his name Isidore de Méplats. One of his most remarkable studies is his work on Chansons populaires et historiques du Canada (1863), which he published: Le Voyage sentimental sur la rue Saint-Jean; départ en 1860, retour en 1880 (1879); le Voyage autour de l'Isle d'Orléans.
His repertoire had no evolution and since the 1990s, his situation was similar to Jean Roucas. Willing to start again his career in cinema, he made the mistake in 1992 participating at the film of the return of Les Charlots without Gérard Rinaldi entitled Le Retour des Charlots. The film was a commercial failure and considered as a flop, which compromised his film career with a lot of refuses to castings. Guy Montagné was in the 1990s one of the most important personalities of the radio program Les Grosses Têtes hosted by Philippe Bouvard and also participated at the occasional television programs of the same name.

The Catholic hierarchy quickly came to view the retour à l'authenticité as a threat to Christianity in Zaire (in the early 1990s almost half of the population was Catholic). The regime's stress on "mental decolonization" and "cultural dis- alienation" could be interpreted as an attack on Christianity as a product of Western influence, as could the emphasis on African culture as an alternative to widespread continuing Westernization. Also, the banning of Christian names was a measure that particularly offended the church. As part of his re- organization of Zairian life, Mobutu banned all outside Christian religious groups, requiring those who would function in Zaire to become part of one of four recognized umbrella groups.

Man Ray, 1922, Untitled Rayograph, gelatin silver photogram, 23.5 x 17.8 cm Photograms were used in the 20th century by a number of photographers, particularly Man Ray, whose "rayographs" were also given the name by Dada leader Tzara. Ray described his (re-)discovery of the process in his 1963 autobiography; In his photograms, Man Ray made combinations of objects—a comb, a spiral of cut paper, an architect’s French curve—some recognisable, others transformed, typifying Dada's rejection of 'style', emphasising chance and abstraction. He published a selection of these rayographs as Champs délicieux in December 1922, with an introduction by Tzara. His 1923 film Le Retour à la Raison ('Return to Reason') adapts rayograph technique to moving images.

The definition of "blasphemy" was introduced into French law in the 13th century (after great debate among the French Moralists), based on the definition given by St. Thomas Aquinas: a sin of language, "a failure to declare one's faith", thus representing an attack on the purity of religion. This justified punishment by law, which became extreme during the reign of Louis IX. Later canonized by the Catholic church as Saint Louis, he became obsessed in his fight against heretics, Jews and Muslims, and set the punishment for blasphemy to mutilation of the tongue and lips.Olivier Bobineau, "Retour de l'ordre religieux ou signe de bonne santé de notre pluralisme laïc ? " [archive], Le Monde.
His reproductions of paintings were famed for their suggestion of the original colours in the black-and-white photographs, and were lauded as being far superior to all other similar efforts until then. Gustave Moreau used to send photographs of his paintings, made by Bingham, to people to inform them of his latest creations, without the need to wait for a Salon or other exhibition. Similarly, Gustave Courbet showed his paintings, which were rejected for the Salon, through photographs made by Bingham. His 1863 work "Retour de conférence", which was even rejected at the Salon des Refusés, was destroyed by a fundamentalist Christian, making the photographs by Bingham the only remaining trace of it.
Offsets can be defined as provisions to an import agreement, between an exporting foreign company, or possibly a government acting as intermediary, and an importing public entity . The incentive for the exporter results from the conditioning of the core transaction to the acceptance of the offset obligation.Ianakiev, Gueorgui (2014), " Defence Offsets : Regulation and Impact on the Integration of the European Defence Equipment Market ", in Bellais, Renaud (ed) (2014), "The Evolving Boundaries of Defence : An Assessment of Recent Shifts in Defence Activities ", Emerald Group Publishing Limited. Offset agreements often involve trade in military goods and services and are alternatively called: industrial compensations, industrial cooperation, offsets, industrial and regional benefits, balances, juste retour or equilibrium, to define mechanisms more complex than counter-trade.
From then on, and although the title of this novel invited to reflection like the last word of his narrative to silence, each of Frédéric Berthet's books was awaited with curiosity. In January 1993, appeared simultaneously Felicidad, his second collection of short stories (L'Infini's headline read "Nouvelles du front"), and Paris-Berry (that of the "Blanche Collection" read "Counter- attack"), a short story as unclassifiable as the preceding ones, but which aroused in the press a wave of interrogations, if not indignations: a bit casual, was this irruption in the mythical collection of Gallimard a provocation? His last book, Le Retour de Bouvard et Pécuchet was published by Éditions du Rocher in March 1996. The literary work of Frédéric Berthet, however, began in 1970.
In France the press response to Providence at the time of its release (and again at its re-release in 1983) was overwhelmingly enthusiastic. Many argued that it was a film of great cultural importance, and a highlight in Resnais's career.

Lebourg has three of his sculptures decorating parts of the outside of the Louvre. The Mollien Pavilion and the Ailes Mollien (an "aile" is a wing) is part of the cour Napoléon and is named after a Treasury minister at the time of the French Empire (Nicolas François, Count Mollien) and Lebourg's "La Chasse" is one of the group of children decorating what is known as the "aile en retour Mollien". The second of Lebourg's sculptures can be seen in the Richelieu pavilion where the tympanum of the arcade of the passage leading to the rue de Rivoli is decorated with Lebourg's bas relief "Vérite et Histoire". The third sculpture, again part of the cour Napoléon, decorates the Apollon rotunda and is entitled "La Force".

She achieved recognition for both her stage and film work, and was named best actress at the Venice Film Festival for her role in Resnais' Muriel ou Le temps d'un retour (1963). She played many diverse roles, and because she was fluent in French, English and German, she appeared in films in all three languages, including a number of Hollywood productions. Seyrig may be most widely known for her role as Colette de Montpelier in Zinnemann's 1973 film The Day of the Jackal. In turn, perhaps her most demanding role was in Chantal Akerman's 1975 film Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, in which she was required to adopt a highly restrained, rigorously minimalistic mode of acting to convey the mindset of the title character.

The two founding principles of the ERC regarding grants are: #Research grant applications should be judged using the sole criterion of peer-reviewed excellence, independent of political, geographic or economic considerations. All ERC competitions for funding are open to top researchers from any country in the world, as long as they are committed to work at least half of their time in Europe. The quality and originality of the research project and the qualifications of the applicant( as shown, for example, by their publication record) are the only evaluation criteria. This means that there will be no juste retour, in other words there are no guarantees that the individual countries contributing to the programme will receive any part of the funding.
A map of the forest The forest is located is the north-western France region of Brittany, about 30 km south-west of the city of Rennes. It occupies mainly the territory of the commune of Paimpont but extends to bordering communes in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine, mainly Guer and Beignon in the south, Saint-Péran in the northeast, and Concoret in the north. The woodland surrounding Paimpont are the remains of a denser and much larger forest. It is mainly a broadleaved forest, mostly oaks and beech, with areas of conifers either inside after clear-felling or on the periphery as transition with moor, for example towards the west in the sector in the area of Tréhorenteuc and the Val sans retour.
The senatus consulte of 14 July 1865 implemented many of the elements of the future Code d'Indigénat in Algeria, and prior to 1887, other colonial subjects lived under similar conditions. The indigénat was introduced by decree, in various forms and degrees of severity, to Algeria and Cochinchina in 1881, New Caledonia and Senegal in 1887, Annam-Tonkin and Polynesia in 1897, Cambodia in 1898, Mayotte and Madagascar in 1901, French West Africa in 1904, French Equatorial Africa in 1910, French Somaliland in 1912, and the Mandates of Togo and Cameroun in 1923 and 1924.Isabelle Merle, "Retour sur le régime de l'indigénat : Genèse et contradictions des principes répressifs dans l'empire français", French Politics, Culture & Society , Summer 2002, Vol. 20, No. 2, note 13, p. 93.

The supporters included Patrick Bruel, Hugues Aufray, the comedians Josiane Balasko, Jean Benguigui and Mathilda May, director Nils Tavernier, the Avignon festival director Olivier Py and comedian Anne Roumanoff. Other media in this case made a more general denunciation of certain police methods. In contrast to the many condemnations of police, lawyer Gilles-William Goldnadel viewed the case as "anti-cop hate." He said that the possible misconduct of some police officers "can not put blame upon the entire French police force, who are widely exemplary" and that to "generalize to the entire profession for the possible crime of one or a few is consubstantial racism." Expressionism was also exhibited in the Latemse School, where adherents like Constant Permeke and Hubert Malfait used brushwork in painting and loose form in sculpture to show a mystic reality behind nature. In what had been called a “retour à l’humain” (return to the human), many artists working in Belgium after the war had kept the expressive brush of their forebearers, but had rejected what they had seen as the anti-human, unreal distortions in their subject matter. The goal was to use the expressive brush to depict the soul or spirit of the objects, people, and places they were painting, rather than a hyperbolic, externalized, displaced angst of the artist. These artists were often characterized as 'introverts', as opposed to the 'extroverts' of expressionism.

In 1807, despite his earlier affiliation with Marie Antoinette, Dussek returned to Paris in the employ of Talleyrand, the powerful French foreign minister. Having no doubt made the acquaintance of Sébastien Érard in London, he became closely associated with the Érard brothers' piano-making activities, signing an Érard grand piano of 1808 still to be seen at Talleyrand's château at Valençay, and giving the first public performance on their new stirrup-action grand in 1810. He wrote a powerful sonata (Sonata in A flat major, Op. 64, C 221) called Le Retour à Paris (The Return to Paris). This imposing sonata also received the nickname Plus Ultra in heated response to a piano sonata by Joseph Woelfl, said to be the last word in pianistic difficulties, entitled Non Plus Ultra.
During 1967, with Le Retour des Dieux [The Return of the Gods], Guieu revamped the Kariven character into that of journalist Gilles Novak who, with the help of his girl- friend Régine Véran, and various friends and allies, often real-life friends of Guieu or thinly-disguised real-life figures, fought against would-be tyrants, communists, terrorists, drug cartels and various alien menaces. Novak was helped in his struggles by Michael Merkavim, the commander of a new, powerful Order of Knights Templar, equipped with futuristic weapons and based in a parallel universe. Merkavim was introduced in Les Sept Sceaux du Cosmos [The Seven Seals of the Cosmos] (1968) and L'Ordre Vert [The Green Order] (1969). The theme was later developed as the Les Chevaliers de Lumière ("The Knights of Light") sub-series.
Divers voyages et missions du père Alexandre de Rhodes de la Compagnie de Jésus en la Chine et autres royaumes de l'Orient, avec son retour en Europe par la Perse et l’Arménie is divided in three parts: Alexandre de Rhodes’s journey from Rome to China, his missions in Tonkin and Cochinchina (today’s Vietnam) and finally his return from China to Rome. The main topic of this book is de Rhodes’s proselytizing work and his methods of conversion, but he does describe some of the foreign lands, customs, and politics as well. The part about his journey in Tonkin and Cochinchina is the longest one, because he spent most of his time there. The first chapters describe Cochinchina’s and Tonkin’s historical relationship, governments, its armies, language, customs as well as its religions.

Lascaux II, an exact copy of the Great Hall of the Bulls and the Painted Gallery was displayed at the Grand Palais in Paris, before being displayed from 1983 in the cave's vicinity (about away from the original cave), a compromise and attempt to present an impression of the paintings' scale and composition for the public without harming the originals. On leaving the army at the end of the war, Delamarre now tried to secure the "Prix de Rome" and with the bas-relief "Le retour du guerrier au foyer familial" he shared the prize with Alfred Janniot which meant he was able to spend four years in Rome at the Villa Médicis. He was to stay in Rome until 1924, grew a moustache and visited and studied the sculpture of Greece. The composition "Suzanne au bain" exhibited in 1922 at the Salon des Artistes Français is a good illustration of Delamarre's work at this time. In 1925 and in collaboration with the architect Michel Roux Spitz, he took part in the competition to secure the work on the proposed "Monument à la Défense du canal de Suez" to be erected in Ismaîlia, a work of huge proportions and a most prestigious project.
The matters went to a head when, in 1936, he was accused of praising the French author André Gide whose Retour de l'URSS and the book's praise of Georgian writers reclassified both Gide and Javakhishvili into enemies. On 22 July 1937, when the poet Paolo Iashvili shot himself in the Union of Writers building, and the Union's session went on to pass a resolution denouncing the poet's move as an anti-Soviet provocation, Javakhishvili was the sole person present to praise the poet's courage. Four days later, on 26 July, the presidium of the Union voted: "Mikheil Javakhishvili, as an enemy of the people, a spy and diversant, is to be expelled from the Union of Writers and physically annihilated." His friends and colleagues, including those already in prison, were forced to incriminate Javakhishvili as a counter-revolutionary terrorist.
Le retour d'Idoménée by Jacques Gamelin, a painting housed in the Musée des Augustins, Toulouse In Greek legend, Idomeneus was the King of Crete, the son of Deucalion and the grandson of Minos and Pasiphaë. A suitor of Helen of Troy, he was a major figure in the war between the Greeks and the Trojans precipitated by Helen's departure from Greece with the Trojan Prince Paris. The Odyssey relates that after the Greeks' victory, he led his men through the perils of their journey home without losing a single one of them. Later writings relate that his voyage was afflicted by a violent storm, amidst which he vowed to Poseidon, the god of the sea, that if he was allowed to set foot on Crete again, he would sacrifice the first living thing that he encountered there.
All of their other films as a trio misfired. In 1983, former member Rego joined his former bandmates in a supporting part in Le Retour des Bidasses en Folie, a very bad film that tried to capitalize on their 1971 hit film Les Bidasses en Folie, but where they played different characters. Years later, Filipelli acknowledged that "if you're a fan of Les Charlots, it's best that you don't watch our last films..." In 1979, the trio appeared in their first theatre play, "La Cuisine des Anges", a very successful experience. In the late seventies and early eighties, the three remaining Charlots focused on new songs and albums, releasing "Fesse en Rut Majeur" (1985), an album composed of dirty lyrics, and also some of their biggest hits : "Chagrin d'labour", "La Bouche Camembert" and the very popular "L'Apérobic".
Due to its "harsh tone and radical statements", the essay has been compared to "a declaration of war" on colonialism.Kelley, Robin D.G. "A Poetic of Anticolonialism ", Monthly Review: An Independent Socialist Magazine 51.6 (1999) Discourse added to the themes developed in his 1939 poem Cahier d'un retour au pays natal ("Notebook of a Return to the Native Land"), which he wrote in response to leaving France and returning to Martinique. In Cahier, Césaire notes the relationship between Martinique and his African heritage, confirming this bond between colonies in Africa and colonies elsewhere as one based on race. In identifying the racism problem associated with the colonial relationship, he claims that Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party's persecution of Jews during World War II and the Holocaust was not an aberration, but rather the norm in Europe.
Some of his criticisms of contemporary composers have become quite famous, as well as the responses that they engendered. He said of Berlioz, "...what Monsieur Berlioz composes is not part of that art which we distinguish as music, and I am completely certain that he lacks the most basic capability in this art." In the Revue musicale issue of 1 February 1835 he wrote of the Symphonie Fantastique: Berlioz, who had proof-read Fétis' editions of the first eight Beethoven symphonies for the publisher Troupenas, commented that Troupenas did in fact remove Fétis' editorial marks, but Berlioz was still unsatisfied. He went on to criticize Fétis in one of the monologues of Lélio, ou le Retour à la vie, the 1832 sequel to Symphonie Fantastique: Not one to be outdone, Fétis may have had the last word in this debate.
"Quartier - Disciplinaire", Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, 1954 The prison at Saint-Laurent was but a temporary stop for most prisoners. Only a small number of men ever stayed in Saint-Laurent for long, and they were nearly all employed in the penitentiary administration or were considered harmless and unlikely to try to escape. When a ship (such as La Loire or La Martinière) arrived from Saint- Martin-de-Ré, the first order of the day was to separate the "chevaux de retour" (literally "returned horses", but meaning the escaped prisoners) and the recidivists from the rest, to send them to the Îles du Salut, from whose shores escape was considered impossible. (A few, however, succeeded; most famously, Henri Charrière, who later wrote Papillon.) The new prisoners then stayed for a while in Saint-Laurent, where they were sorted into different camps or prisons.
It combines vintage furniture, comfort from the 1950s, references to Provence or England, "Christian Dior wanted to invent an art of living at the Colle Noire", Andreï Svetchine declared. The reception rooms and Christian Dior's apartment are furnished with eclecticism, decorated with objects from the 18th and 19th centuries bought from antique dealers, some rooms have a Louis XV, Louis XVI or Retour d'Egypte style. The Provence inspired Christian Dior to create Miss Dior in 1947 and it was the Lily of the Valley of La Colle Noire that was at the origin of Diorissimo, created in 1956 by Edmond Roudnitska. It is this tradition and art that has inspired François Demachy the perfumer-creator of Parfums Christian Dior to create La Colle Noire, whom the May Rose flower is provided by the field planted as a tribute in the estate's park.
Greuze's "Retour sur soi-même" was an example of a bad likeness of the head of an old woman, because classical drawing theory was applied which was based on a young adult male's head. Merely adding wrinkles and a costume cannot help a poor likeness. The Moor, an etching by Jan de Visscher after a drawing by his brother Cornelis Camper's main points in his first lecture were that classical drawing lessons from the time of Vitruvius, including the teachings of Dürer and Perreault, were based on an incorrect assumption that the human head was oval at all ages, and he proceeded to prove this with his dimensions of the skulls. He also remarked that none of the various humans of modern "nations" such as Europeans, Moors or Kalmyk people adhere to the classic form of head so remarkable in Grecian sculpture.
After Napoleon's rise to power and the victory at Marengo, the fashion was for allegorical portraits of Bonaparte, glorifying the new Master of France, such as Antoine-François Callet's Allegory of the Battle of Marengo, featuring Bonaparte dressed in Roman costume and flanked by winged symbols of victory, and Pierre Paul Prud'hon's Triumph of Bonaparte, featuring the First Consul in a chariot accompanied by winged figures. David chose symbolism rather than allegory. His figure of Bonaparte is heroic and idealized but it lacks the concrete symbols of allegorical painting. The Death of Hyacinthos Jean Broc, 1801 Faithful to his desire for a "return to the pure Greek" (retour vers le grec pur), David applied the radical neo-classicism that he had demonstrated in his 1799 The Intervention of the Sabine Women to the portrait of Bonaparte, with the use of contemporary costumes the only concession.
Mily-Meyer appeared at the Théâtre des Nouveautés as Kate in the French premiere of RipTraubner, R. Operetta — a theatrical history. In his researches, Moraly undermines generally admitted cultural images. His recent research is devoted to the representations of Jewish characters in Occupied France's Theater and Film: articles include Les Enfants du Paradis, Volpone, La Folle de Chaillot that were published in Revolution in Paradise: Veiled representations of Jewish characters in Occupied France. The purpose of the book is to show that, contrary to the accepted view, some of these films were intimately linked to the political situation. They convey the demonization of characters that, while not specifically presented as Jews nevertheless manifested anti-Semitic stereotypes of the Jew as ugly, rootless, low, hypocritical, immoral, cruel and power hungry. All movies analysed (Les Inconnus dans la maison; Les Visiteurs du Soir ; L’Eternel retour ; Les Enfants du Paradis) present characters not identified as Jews but who exhibit negative “Jewish” traits, in contrast to the aristocratic characters whom they aspire to emulate.
Virtual Xperience was a French video game development studio founded by Rodolphe Czuba on December 1993 after his previous company, Retour 2048, was closed due to management issues from two of their employees and would later be involved during the development of Shen Technologies' Super Burnout. The company had three projects under development for the Jaguar platform, two of which were Zzyorxx II and a platform game titled Indiana Jags. The game was first announced in early 1994 under the name Zozziorx and was touted for a Q2 1994 release, however GameFan and French magazine Joypad previewed some of the first screenshots for the game in the third quarter of 1994, now under the title Zzyorxx and planned for a Q3 1994 release instead. It remained to be previewed across multiple magazines through 1995 under its final name but had no concrete release date set.

In 2015, despite being close to his 90th birthday, Wade brushed aside suggestions that he should retire, arguing that no credible younger men had come along to succeed him as head of the PDS and that his parents both lived and worked to an advanced age.Aislinn Laing, "Senegal's former president defends aged leaders: 'My father worked until 105'", The Telegraph, 11 June 2015. In the July 2017 parliamentary election, Wade planned to stand as a candidate at the head of the candidate list of an opposition coalition. Khalifa Sall, another prominent opposition leader, and his supporters decided to run separately due to disagreement about whether Wade or Sall should receive the top spot on the candidate list."Sénégal : l’ancien président Wade candidat aux législatives", Le Monde, 30 May 2017 .Benjamin Roger, "Législatives sénégalaises : la coalition de l’opposition implose, Abdoulaye Wade sur le retour", Jeune Afrique, 30 May 2017 .
Plans for a united opposition coalition that would incorporate the Senegalese Democratic Party of Abdoulaye Wade as well as the supporters of imprisoned Dakar Mayor Khalifa Sall were ultimately scuttled in late May 2017 because the two sides could not agree on who should head the coalition's candidate list. Consequently the two sides decided to stand separately, with Wade and Khalifa Sall each heading their respective lists. The opposition's failure to unite was viewed as a boon for President Sall, making it appear more likely that he would keep his parliamentary majority; if his supporters lost, he would be forced into cohabitation for the remaining two years of his term, greatly curtailing his powers."Sénégal : l’ancien président Wade candidat aux législatives", Le Monde, 30 May 2017 .Benjamin Roger, "Législatives sénégalaises : la coalition de l’opposition implose, Abdoulaye Wade sur le retour", Jeune Afrique, 30 May 2017 .
The Return of the Prodigal Son (Le retour de l'enfant prodigue), by James Tissot, Brooklyn Museum John Paul puts forth the Parable of the Prodigal Son as an especially vivid analogy of God's mercy for man. > When the son decides to return to his father's house, to ask his father to > be received-no longer by virtue of his right as a son, but as an employee > -at first sight he seems to be acting by reason of the hunger and poverty > that he had fallen into; this motive, however, is permeated by an awareness > of a deeper loss: to be a hired servant in his own father's house is > certainly a great humiliation and source of shame. Nevertheless, the > prodigal son is ready to undergo that humiliation and shame. He realizes > that he no longer has any right except to be an employee in his father's > house.
In Italy, this was encouraged by the magazine Valori Plastici and came together in the Novecento, a group that exhibited in the Venice Biennale and was joined by many Futurists who had rejected their former work. Mario Sironi, a member of this group, stated that they “would not imitate the world created by God but would be inspired by it.” The “New Objectivity” or Neue Sachlichkeit, as coined by Hartlaub, described the developments in Germany and became the title of an exhibition that he staged in 1925. Neue Sachlichkeit was influenced not only by the “return to order” but also a call to arms among more left-leaning artists who wanted to use their art in a forward, political manner that expressionism didn't enable them to do. In Belgium, there was another vein in the common trend, which would later be referred to as a “retour à l’humain”.
The monarchy is again in exile, in Ghent. It is only the Hundred Days and the Battle of Waterloo that Louis XVIII can return to the throne, inaugurating the Second Restoration. Louis XVIII makes a return at the Hôtel de Ville de Paris on August 29th, 1814 Allégorie du retour des Bourbons le 24 avril 1814 : Louis XVIII relevant la France de ses ruines, by Louis-Philippe Crépin Louis XVIII's restoration to the throne in 1814 was effected largely through the support of Napoleon's former foreign minister, Talleyrand, who convinced the victorious Allied Powers of the desirability of a Bourbon Restoration. The Allies had initially split on the best candidate for the throne: Britain favoured the Bourbons, the Austrians considered a regency for Napoleon's son, François Bonaparte, and the Russians were open to either the duc d'Orléans, Louis Philippe, or Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, Napoleon's former Marshal, who was in line for the Swedish throne.
In 1975, he joined a small, suburban compas group called Taboo No. 2 as a percussionist, and he traveled Guadeloupe with his henchmen to host weddings and dances. He released two albums, Ambition et Ti Paulette. He decides to raise the group Taboo No. 2 shows a third album in 1978: Retour en Force. He also collaborated with Joyeux de Cocotier and Throbbing Gristle on mind blowing artistic experimentations. Finally, he decides to go it alone and abandon Taboo No. 2 to write and compose obscene, even shocking songs inspired by Genesis P. Orridge. His first solo album, sold under the mantle, sold 50,000 copies. Since the 1980s, Francky became known throughout the Caribbean community living in Paris or the Caribbean under the nickname "Doctor Porno", "Le Vergeur du Mourne Triglav" or " Milán Fras". Despite a ban on air (which ultimately turned out to be very good publicity), his music appealed to tourists.

His first publications, concerning the French Revolution, Napoleon and the Bourbon Restoration, were "La lanterne magique" (1811); "Blanc, bleu et rouge" (1814) and a "Tableau historique des événements qui se sont accomplis depuis le retour de Bonaparte jusqu'au rétablissement de Louis XVII" (1815). He contributed to the "Journal de Lyon" founded by Pierre-Simon Ballanche. Once in Paris, he first published articles of a political cast, and historical tales in the style of the time, such as "Michel Morin et la Ligue"; "Florence ou la Religieuse"; "Le Régicide" and others. He then took up historical writing, his first work of this kind is "Le Concordat entre Léon X et François I" (1821), which is, for the most part, a translation of the Concordat between pope Leo X and renaissance king Francis I of France. This was followed by his "Histoire de la St. Barthélemy" (2 volumes, 1826) on the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre of 24 August 1572.

In an article published in 2007 in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, and the Polish journal Więź they maintain that there is no credible evidence to suggest that there was a person by that name involved in the ZZW in any capacity.Dariusz Libionka and Laurence Weinbaum: "A Legendary Commander" Haaretz, 22 June 2007 They reject the writings of Arens and others (including most notably Paris author Marian ApfelbaumMarian Apfelbaum Retour sur le ghetto de Varsovie (Paris: Odile Jacob, 2002)) who ascribe to Apfelbaum a leadership role in the ŻZW. Libionka and Weinbaum demonstrate that Apfelbaum's name does not appear in any reliable eyewitness testimony and that contrary to claims to the contrary, Dawid Wdowiński did not refer to him in his memoirs.
The Earl appears on various occasions in his place in Parliament, but little is known of his history except that he appears to have become involved in debt. He is said to have been present at the Battle of Sauchieburn on 11 June 1488, and to have fought for the King; but this is doubtful, as he must then have been above eighty years of age. In the retour of his grandson to the estates on 6 May 1493, Earl Malise is said to have died at the peace of King James IV of Scotland. The exact date of his death is not known, but he was dead before 19 May 1490, perhaps not very long before that date, when a gift was made to John Home of Earlston of the ward of the lands of Gilmerton, held of Malise, Earl of Menteith, and then in the King's hands by his decease.
An overlook of the Val in 2017 Val sans retour (the Vale of No Return) is the most famous tourist place of the forest, located near Tréhorenteuc, west of Paimpont. It is a steep valley dug deep in red shale, the color resulting from the oxidation of the iron ore it contains. During the 19th century, there have been two competing of locations of the Vale in the forest, the other having been in the vallée de la Marette near the Tomb of Merlin and also including the initial location of the Tomb of Viviane, until Félix Bellamy decided in 1896 that this one is the place that inspired the anonymous author of the 13th century to write the episode of the Vale in the Prose Lancelot. According to the French tradition of Arthurian legend, Queen Morgan le Fay, half-sister of King Arthur, betrayed by her lover, decided to keep all the unfaithful knights as prisoners in a vale of that name.
Retour à la case départ Meanwhile, in the Hull sector, the Université du Québec en Outaouais is planning to merge both of its Hull campuses and will be expanded further east to near the Rapibus terminus on Saint-Joseph Boulevard with the addition of several buildings for the faculties located outside the Alexandre-Taché campus (mainly the faculties at the Lucien-Brault campus located just a few blocks to the north). When fully completed, the main segment of the line will run from the Lorrain Boulevard area in the Gatineau sector and along the CFQG line to near the intersection of Alexandre-Taché and Saint-Joseph Boulevards behind the Salaberry Armoury and just east the Université du Québec en Outaouais. Initial plans had the line terminate near Montcalm Street and Quebec Autoroute 50. A second segment will run along portions the Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield Railway from La Carrière Boulevard to Freeman Road.
Although the movie was a commercial flop, Dalida received favorable reviews. In January 1963 at Cortina d'Ampezzo, Dalida was awarded with the Oscar Mondiale del Successo dei Juke Box award for the most listened artist on the jukeboxes in Europe. Later the same month, she made a shift from yé-yé covering Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" as "Tu croiras", which was followed by an equally more melancholic string of recordings such as "Le jour du retour", a summer number one hit in Canada, and "Eux" that later peaked at number two in Argentina and was recorded in five languages. "Eux" was awarded with the Oscar mundial du success du disque for drawing the most international sales by a French artist in 1963, and Dalida named her fourteenth studio album after it. The 1963 world tour was prolonged into 1964 only with several short breaks. The tour's French leg started on 11 April 1964, after which Dalida traveled 30,000 kilometers solely by car during its five-month run, with a public attendance over 200,000.
This story arc was heavily influenced by media censorship in France, "Buck Danny"'s biggest market, which had already resulted in the banning of the two Korean War novels."La Guerre de Corée", editor's notes on the first page The Indochina War and its repercussions, including U.S. involvement in the region, had also been banned from French popular literature; thus Charlier was forced to draft a strictly fictional story, with no basis in international reality. The imaginary nation of Vien Tan stands in for Vietnam; the war between the communists and the Diem regime was replaced by a palace quarrel between a king and his rebellious nephew; and the villains' backers, rather than the Soviet Union, were made to be an unnamed and therefore apolitical criminal organization (the same role fulfilled by SPECTRE in the Bond movies of the same era)."Le Retour des Tigres Volants", editor's notes on the first page The Flying Tigers' part in the story, however, was another matter; it was largely inspired by General Claire Lee Chennault's very real activities after 1945.
Régina Badet in 1910. Badet was first dancer with the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in 1890. She began with the Opéra-Comique de Paris in 1904, dancing in productions of Lakmé (1905), Aphrodite (1906, in which she shared billing with dancer Mata Hari), Ariane et Barbe-Bleue (1907), Carmen (1908), Bacchus triomphant (1909), Le Mariage de Télémaque (1909), Athanaïs (1910), Sapphô (1912), La Grande Famille (1914), Un Mari dans du Coton (1916), Les Trois Sultanes (1917), Appassionata (1920), and Le Venin (1923). She was known for creating the role of Conchita Perez in a stage adaptation of La Femme et le Pantin (1910), in which her very minimal costume was a matter of some scandal. Badet appeared in French silent films Le Secret de Myrto (1908), Le Retour d'Ulysse (1909), Carmen (1910), La Saltarella (1912), Zoé a le cœur trop tendre (A Woman's Last Card, 1912), Le Spectre du passé (1913), Vendetta (1914), Manuella (1916), Le Lotus d'or (The Golden Lotus, 1916), Sadounah (No Greater Love 1919), and Maître Évora (1922).
All the time, Toulouse and Perrache watch the chaos serenely, although Perrache is troubled by his chief's callousness toward the risk that Perrin might be killed. In a startling scene, Christine greets Perrin at her apartment's front door in a demure high-necked black-velvet dress, then turns around and shows that the dress is backless, displaying discreet buttock cleavage (a similar dress is seen once again—at a symphony concert—in the sequel film Le Retour du Grand Blond). A slapstick love scene (watched by Milan and his cohorts on a television monitor) ensues, concluding with Milan's decision (despite Christine's belief that Perrin couldn't possibly be an agent) to have Perrin eliminated. More mayhem (including Maurice's learning the truth about his wife's affair) and treachery (including Christine's defection from Milan's group to save Perrin, with whom she has fallen in love) follow, climaxing in the deaths of not only agents from both Toulouse's and Milan's groups but also Milan himself, who only learns the truth about Perrin from Perrache just before he dies.
Douglas Cooper, "The Cubist Epoch", Phaidon Press Limited, 1970, in association with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Both Lipchitz and Laurens retained highly figurative and legible components in their works leading up to 1915-16, after which naturalist and descriptive elements were muted, dominated by a synthetic style of Cubism under the influence of Picasso and Gris. Between 1916 and 1918 Lipchitz and Laurens developed a breed of advanced wartime Cubism (primarily in sculpture) that represented a process of purification. With observed reality no longer the basis for the depiction of subject, model or motif, Lipchitz and Laurens created works that excluded any starting point, based predominantly on the imagination, and continued to do so during the transition from war to peace. In December 1918 Laurens, a close friend of both Picasso and Braque, inaugurated the series of Cubist exhibitions at L'Effort Moderne (Lipchitz showed in 1920), by which time his works had wholly approached the Cubist retour à l'ordre.
Caveglia was born in Vénissieux, Rhône. A prolific goalscorer, he started at FC Gueugnon, making his Ligue 1 debuts on 21 August 1990 with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, against Stade Brestois 29. After two more top division seasons at Le Havre AC he moved to Olympique Lyonnais, being eventually named captain on both teams and being affectionately nicknamed Cavégol in the latter.Fin de carrière d'Alain Cavéglia: retour sur son parcours (End of career for Alain Cavéglia: a summary); Le Havre AC, 20 April 2002 (in French) In January 2000, Caveglia joined FC Nantes, going on to win his only professional silverware in his six-month stint, the season's Coupe de France, gaining a penalty in the last minute of a 2–1 final win over amateurs Calais RUFC which was converted by Antoine Sibierski. In July of that year he returned to Le Havre, going on to amass a further 30 Ligue 2 goals (in 2001–02, his 14 helped the side return to the top flight) and subsequently retiring in June 2002, aged 34.
Darc's debut came in Claude Barma's television drama Du côté de l'enfer (aka, La Grande Brétèche, 1960). Her first leading role came in another production for French television, Jean Prat's Hauteclaire (1961). She starred in Jean-Luc Godard's film Weekend (Week-end, 1967) as Corinne, her highest profile role for international critics; as Christine in The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe (Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire, 1972) and The Return of the Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe (Le retour du grand blond, 1974) and alongside Alain Delon in several films: Pouic-Pouic (1963), High Lifers (Les Bons Vivants (1965), Jeff (1969), Borsalino (uncredited, 1970), The Love Mates (Madly, 1970), Icy Breasts (Les Seins de glace, 1974), Death of a Corrupt Man (Mort d'un pourri, 1977), Man in a Hurry (L'Homme pressé, 1977), and the television series ' (2003). In the 1980s, Darc's career was interrupted by open-heart surgery following a car accident, in which she was seriously injured, and her separation from Alain Delon after fifteen years together.

The latter work expresses Peretti Junior's lively interest in esotericism: a follower of René Guénon, a passionate reader of Rudolf Steiner and Allan Kardec, of Eliphas Levi, and of Buddhist and yoga texts, the artist and scholar created a large library of esoteric and theosophical works together with his friend Adolfo Papetti, a collector and the executor of his will. An increasingly solitary and eccentric figure, often mystified by the diffidence of his fellow townspeople (who believed he knew the secrets of the archaic sorcery of the Valley) and the superficiality of the criticism of his work, Lorenzo Peretti Junior spent the last decades of his life living in seclusion at Toceno, devoting himself mostly to studying and critiquing art. An analytical, in- depth reassessment of his role in the art of Valle Vigezzo and Italy generally at the turn of the 20th century would not be carried out until the 1990s, with the research of the Piedmontese critic Dario Gnemmi (1957-2005), in particular the volumes Retour à la ferme (Return to the farm) (1993) and the posthumous Vigezzini di Francia. Pittura d'alpe e d'Oltralpe tra Otto e Novecento in Valle Vigezzo (The French Vigezzini.
