After major efforts to clear the line of vegetation and repair damaged tracks, passenger services along the section between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland West through (but not stopping at) Harperley were reintroduced on 23 May 2010 and continued until the end of the 2012 season. However, in June 2014 a limited, volunteer- run passenger service was reintroduced between Stanhope and Wolsingham using a class 122 "Bubble Car" and on 27 March 2016 this service was extended to . However this service does not stop at Harperley and there do not currently appear to be any plans to reopen the station.

The venue is the home ground for the Albury Football Club in the Ovens & Murray Football League, and most seasons it hosts the Ovens & Murray preliminary final. In summers the venue is used for cricket, with a turf wicket, and in this capacity serves as the home of the Albury Tigers side in the Cricket Albury-Wodonga Provincial competition. In May 2020, the Albury Sports Ground hosted the Melbourne Storm for a pre-season training capacity in preparation for recommencing the delayed 2020 NRL Season. The Storm were originally slated to train at Albury community Rugby League venue Greenfields Park, however a decision by the Albury City Council led to the Storm requiring an alternate venue at short notice.

Jacob Burensköld, lieutenant–colonel of the Östergötland Cavalry Regiment, instrumental to the Swedish victory As the Swedes of the Östgöta Regiment reached the village of Wola in their pursuit of the Saxons, they discovered that Paykull had reorganised his forces at the nearby village of Odolany. Some time was spent resting the exhausted horses and regrouping the available squadrons before recommencing the attack. Soon the other four squadrons of the Uppland Regiment arrived, although very depleted after the fighting at Rakowiec. Paykull had positioned his Saxon troops very advantageously, with the left flank protected by a hedge towards Odolany, and on the right a large force of Poles, with two hidden Saxon squadrons of the Garde du Corps, ready to fall upon the rear of the Swedes.

The league was founded in 1922, originally having seven clubs, four of whom still participate. In 1941 the league went into recess for five years as a result of World War II, the competition recommencing in 1946. After the war the league continued to grow. Formation of Division Two In 1981 the league was split into two divisions. The top 10 teams at the end of the 1980 season formed Division One (Diamond Creek, Greensborough, Heidelberg West, Lalor, Macelod-Rosanna, Montmorency, North Heidelberg, Reservoir-Lakeside, Templestowe and Watsonia) for the 1981 season. Division Two was formed by the 4 bottom placed teams from the 1980 season (Eltham, Epping, Heidelberg and South Morang) and 4 new teams making their debut (Bundoora, Northcote Park, Reservoir and West Preston) for the 1981 season.

In both codes, the conversion may be attempted as either a place kick (from the ground) or a drop kick. Most players will nevertheless opt for a place kick, this being generally regarded as the easier skill. Note, however, that in both rugby sevens (usually, but not always, played under union rules) and rugby league nines, conversions may only take place as drop kicks. In rugby league, the game clock continues during preparation and execution of a conversion, with the institution of a 25-second shot clock at certain tournaments from the moment the try is awarded by the referee, within which time the conversion kick must be taken, hence a team may decline a conversion attempt if recommencing play as quickly as possible is advantageous to them.

However the organisation struggled financially and the service was suspended a short time later, not recommencing until August 2006. On 29 September 2009, the development of the Eastgate Renewable Energy Village received unanimous outline approval by the County Durham strategic planning committee. This plan would have involved the opening of a new station at Eastgate to serve new development on the site of the cement works (demolished in 2005) but the withdrawal of government funding in 2010 put the plans under threat and by 2013 the project appeared to have stalled. The Times journalist George Clark wrote that the election would be "remembered as the occasion when the people of the United Kingdom hurled the findings of the opinion polls back into the faces of the pollsters". The result would provide the mandate for Heath as Prime Minister to begin formal negotiations for the United Kingdom to become a member of the European Communities (EC)—or the "Common Market" as it was more widely known at the time, before it later became the European Union; the UK officially joined the EC on 1 January 1973, along with the Republic of Ireland and Denmark. Frontbench Labour politicians George Brown and Jennie Lee were voted out at this election. This marked the end of a series of elections, recommencing 27 years later, where the Labour Party won over 40% of the vote.

The Springhill and Parrsboro Coal and Rail Company, founded in 1872, acquired the General Mining Association's Cumberland County mineral rights in 1879, ending the GMA's involvement in Joggins. Around this time control of the Joggins mining economy shifted from merchants in Saint John to financiers in Montreal, and in 1884 the Springhill and Parrsboro Coal and Rail Company sold out to the Cumberland Railway and Coal Company. The Joggins Railway was completed in 1887, connecting the town of Joggins directly to the rest of the Intercolonial Railway and further reducing the cost of transporting coal. Throughout the 1870s and 1880s, miners in Cumberland County - including Joggins Mine - had a tradition of stopping work immediately after a death occurred in the mine and not recommencing until the killed worker's funeral, but by 1887 this was no longer the case and labourers were forced to mine even on the day of the funeral.

Born in Broughton Gifford, and subsequently brought up in Aylesbury Lewis signed for Football League club Chelsea from the Royal Navy after World War II in 1946. He had previously played for Aylesbury United in the English non-leagues. After signing for Chelsea in March 1946, and with the Football League recommencing with a full programme for the 1946–47 season, Lewis made his First Division debut on 31 August 1946 in a 4–3 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge. He would go on to make 33 First team appearances (include 10 appearances on Summer tours to Malta, Italy and SwitzerlandChelsea F. C. itinerary booklets - Tour to Switzerland May/ June 1946 and Tour to Malta and Italy May 1949 ) for the club between 1946 and 1953, spending the majority of his time with Chelsea in the Football Combination reserve team. He played his final match for the club on 30 August 1952 in a 2–0 home victory over Portsmouth.

Tavsancioglu was invited to join A-League club Melbourne Victory on a short-term contract on 30 December 2005. He played four games as a back-up player for the Victory due to injuries to regular squad members, before recommencing his tenure with South Melbourne in the VPL, where he played in South Melbourne's victory over Altona Magic in the 2006 Grand Final. After a successful trial, he was signed as a short-term injury replacement by A-League outfit North Queensland Fury in November 2010 after a five-year hiatus from the league to provide defensive cover for the injured Eric Akoto and Chris Grossman. He spent the 2011 and 2012 VPL seasons with Oakleigh Cannons, 2013 with Southern Stars FC and then the first two years of the new NPL league with Dandenong Thunder SC. After Thunder's relegation from the top flight at the end of 2015, Rama then signed for ambitious league heavyweight Hume City FC.
