Prominent grandees of Marwar, including Durgadas, went to Delhi to plead the recognition of Ajit Singh as heir. Aurangzeb refused their request, although he did offer to bestow a title and a grant when the child attained the age of majority. Aurangzeb required that the child be raised in the imperial harem and that the ranis live there also. According to one contemporary source, Aurangzeb also offered to give Ajit Singh the throne of Jodhpur in the future if it was agreed that the child was raised in the Muslim faith.

His son Punja, then a minor, went to Delhi to receive investiture, but failing by the rivalry of the Jaipur king, fled in disguise and joined his mother at Udaipur. The Prince Consorts of the Senior and Junior Maharanis are known as the Valiya Koyi Thampuran and Kochu Koyi Thampuran respectively. Even though the Koyi Thampurans attained prestige through marriage to the Attingal Ranis, the historians state that they were considered inferior to their spouses and their royal children.

By August 2009, digital signs were added to the garage to alert motorists as to how many spaces remain prior to entering the facility. As part of the CATS Art in Transit program, I-485/South Boulevard features several pieces intended to provide a better overall aesthetic for the station. The works include bas-reliefs entitled Skyrocket Oak by Alice Adams, drinking fountain basins designed to look like dogwoods, the North Carolina state flower, by Nancy Blum, games motifs on both the pavers and shelters by Leticia Huerta and the painting of the bridge and retaining walls by Marek Ranis. In late 2008 the station received the Federal Highway Administration's Award of Excellence in the "Intermodal Transportation Facilities" category.

Subsequently, she collaborated on the design of the Saint Louis, Missouri, MetroLink (1988–1990); the Ronkonkoma, New York Long Island Railroad Station (1994–1995); and the Montclair State University at Little Falls Station of the New Jersey Transit System (2004). She served as consultant with Jack Mackie and Andrew Darke to the Birmingham, England, Midland Metro Light-Rail System (1992). As co-lead artist she and Marek Ranis wrote the art master plan and collaborated on the design of landscape and infrastructure components of the Charlotte (NC) Area Transit System (2002–2006). Adams' public sculpture throughout the United States since 1986 was displayed in models and photo documentation in a retrospective at the Lehman College Gallery in 2000.

The city of Jodhpur, capital of the Rathor state and now a district administrative centre, was founded in 1459 by Rao Chanda's successor Rao Jodha. In 1561 the kingdom was invaded by the Mughal emperor Akbar. Parganas of Jaitaran and Merta were captured by mughals. After a war for almost two decades and the death of Rao Chandrasen Rathore in 1581, Marwar was brought under direct Mughal administration and remained so till 1583, when Udai Singh ascended to the throne. In 1679 CE, when Maharaja Jaswant Singh whom Emperor Aurangzeb had posted at Jamrud at the mouth of the Khyber Pass, died at that place, leaving no son to succeed him; his widowed Ranis (Queens) at Lahore gave birth to two sons.

Matuszek-Stecnow married: Matuszek-Stec is a professor of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, specializing in the literature of the 19th and 20th century - primarily with Stanisław Przybyszewski, the naturalistic drama and modern prose, Polish- German literature associations and literary translation. From 1983 to 1987 she lectured on Polish literature at the Humboldt University of Berlin, there was a visiting professor (2004 and 2006), as in Jena, Cologne, Leipzig, Vienna, Grenoble and Prague. She received a scholarship of scientific and literary foundations, including German Schiller Society in Marbach am Neckar (1995, 1996), the Academy of Literature in Ranis (2002), the International Writers and Translators Center of Rhodes (2002), the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators, Gotland (2003). Since 1992 she has been a member of the Societas Jablonoviana in Leipzig.
