Based heavily on the Fairmont Futura coupe, the Durango was a two-door, two-seat car-based pickup truck that was intended as a possible replacement for the 1977–1979 Ford Ranchero as well as a competitor to the downsized Chevrolet El Camino/GMC Caballero. Approximately 200 are estimated to have been produced.
Some of the retail 1959 PMC Fords were made in 2-tone colors, but most were cast in a solid turquoise or red. The retail models are discussed more below. In the early 1960s, the toy company Korris Kars offered a '59 Ranchero and Country wagon in a less detailed softer and more flexible polyurethane plastic. At first glance it appears to be a reworking of the PMC casting, but it is not.
The Old Sorrel sired 116 horses registered with the AQHA, but through the linebreeding program the King Ranch used, almost every horse the King Ranch registered from 1940 to the early 1960s was at least a descendant of Old Sorrel, and most were heavily inbred to him. Among his famous offspring were Cardinal, Solis, Little Richard P-17, Tomate Laureles P-19, Silver King, Macanudo and Hired Hand. His grandsons included Wimpy P-1, Ranchero, Peppy, and Pep-Up.
In the United States, Un Lujo debuted and peaked at number four in the Billboard Top Latin Albums, and reached the top of the Regional Mexican Albums chart in the second week. The album peaked at number 24 in Mexican Album Charts, lower than the previous releases by both performers, Indispensable by Lucero (#16) and Huevos Rancheros by Sebastian (#8). Un Lujo was nominated for Ranchero/Mariachi Album of the Year at the 2013 Billboard Mexican Music Awards.
Ruben Fuentes was the musical director of RCA Records in Mexico during the late 1950s to the late 1960s. For that reason, he was the arranger and musical producer of many records of major ranchero singers. Most of them were accompanied by Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán. Fuentes was also the musical arranger for most of José Alfredo Jiménez's songs, a prolific Mexican-born composer whose compositions, like Fuentes, elevated traditional Mariachi music to international heights and acclaim.

The 1958 Ford Ranchero is Travis' chosen vehicle. Robert Phillip Kolker and Peter Beickene wrote the film presents the U.S. as "a fantasyland, a place of striking images, a mise-en-scène of desert and city". Aside from the landscape, there are references to U.S. culture and film, and similarities to John Ford's 1956 film The Searchers. Academic Roger Cook argued there is a connection between the character of Travis and his surroundings observable on the ride to California.
Alejandro Fernández Abarca (; born 24 April 1971) is a Mexican singer. Nicknamed as "El Potrillo" (The Colt) by the media and his fans, he has sold over 20 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Latin music artists. Alejandro is the son of the ranchero singer Vicente Fernández. He originally specialized in traditional, earthy forms of Mexican folk music, such as mariachi and ranchera, until he branched out into pop music with great success.

It topped music charts in the Mexico and the United States. Music critic Thom Jurek of Allmusic, praised the album and called it "elegant." Me Dejé Llevar went on to be nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album at the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, while "Probablemente", won for Best Regional Mexican Song. Nodal was also nominated for Best New Artist but lost to Colombian reggaeton singer Karol G. In May 2019, Nodal released his second studio album, Ahora.
For 1961 into part of the 1963 model year, the Ford F-Series was offered with a third body configuration, integrating the Styleside bed with the cab. With the pickup bed stampings welded directly to the cab before both assemblies were mounted to the frame, the design simplified the assembly and paint process (the configuration was similar to that of the Ford Ranchero). Following a poor market reception, the unibody pickup bed design was withdrawn during the 1963 model year.
In her career Chelo recorded 5 genres in same year which included Tropical, Norteño, Ranchero, Boleros, Cumbias and recorded with Rondalla. Back at the ranch, Gene grows frustrated with Barbara and Kitty who have drawn a line down the middle of Dad's house—dividing it exactly in half. Barbara begins to have doubts about selling the mine after one of the rancheros names his newborn daughter after her in gratitude for not selling the mine. Meanwhile, Tommick and his men cause an explosion in the mine that seriously injures ranchero Jose Ortega. When Ortega's wife blames Gene in front of everyone, Barbara defends him.
His mother disliked short-cut cooking and instead used ground chilies and other seasonings. Joe used a similar method, and his recipe was considered one of Esparza's signature dishes. In 1994, Martha shared her recipe for "Sudie Mae's Sweet Potato Pecan Pie", which came from her mother, who would make it on Sundays while growing up in Mineola, Texas. Joe's "Nopalito Ranchero" recipe, which he shared with The Oregonian in 1996, became popular after guests "got over their squeamishness over eating cactus leaves".
The team researched popular Mexican music, and wanted to write a song that could have been sung by Jorge Negrete or Pedro Infante. They wrote it as a bolero-ranchero style song, knowing that it could also work if performed as a quiet ballad. Robert wrote the music, and Kristen wrote the lyrics. She wanted to explore the idea of remembering people when they are far away, and explained "the power of music to bring people back to life, literally and figuratively".
In 2000, Bárbara took a short maternity leave when her first child, Emiliano, was born. She returned in 2001 with her sixth studio album, Te Regalo La Lluvia. The Mariachi-ballad effort was a challenge to her custom Grupero style; however, industry critics who had written off Bárbara as simply "a grupero novelty built chiefly upon sex appeal" consequently took her and her music a bit more seriously. In the fall, she received her second Latin Grammy nomination for Best Ranchero Album.
The 1979 "Maple Theme Park" report listed plans for: "Tobacco shop (cigarettes, cigars, accessories), camera corner, hand-crafted wearing apparel (jewellery and decorative gifts, Latin American and South America), pottery, plants and baskets (Mexico), giant paper flowers, Spanish dolls." The park opened with two restaurants in the Latin Building, La Cantina and La Tasca.La Cantina sold paella and Spanish omelettes until 11 am daily, ranchero burger, Mexican fruit salad, Spanish salad, and Latin punch. La Tasca offered meats and cheeses, sandwiches, and pastries.
About 1959, PMC moved a few miles west of Milwaukee to Pewaukee. The 1959 Ford Ranchero and Country Sedan wagon and a 1959 Opel Rekord seem to have been the last promotionals offered by PMC. Since the Opel did not change much for 1960, it was carried over to the next year (Hover 2011). By 1960, however, Hubley gained contracts for plastic promos of the Ford station wagon, which it carried over through 1962, apparently pushing PMC out of the promotional business.
His design accomplishments spanned over forty years and left behind several notable designs. His Ranchero and Durango series of rifles incorporated the concept of multiple-use weapons that all use not only the same pistol-caliber rounds but the associated magazines as well. A MAC-11, Ingram's most notable invention, alongside the full-sized MAC-10. Ingram was also known for his associations with some of the defense sector's largest characters, such as Mitchell WerBell III, who designed the suppressor for the MAC-10.
A 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine was available, as was, as of 1988, a rare 2.4-litre diesel. The diesel, a Italian-made VM HR492, was installed by Borward Puntana, but as they were unable to provide engines at the pace needed by Ford, the project soon came to a halt. Most of the diesels built were Ranchero pickups. The pickup truck, capable of a max load, continued to be available with the 3.3- and 3.6-litre sixes, as well as the new four.
The main theme of the telenovela was sung by herself and later included as a bonus track in an album. In 1994, Lucero released another ranchero album, Cariño De Mis Cariños, her third album of this genre and also produced by Rubén Fuentes. The album was selected as one of the best albums of the year according to Eres magazine in Mexico. The album earned the platinum status in that country. At the end of 1994, she released her album Siempre Contigo, supervised by Rafael Perez Botija.
Allmusic.com gave the song a positive review: "Perhaps the most surprising track on the disc, though, and one of its definite high points, is the hip-hop/ranchero fusion "Ni Rosas Ni Juguetes," which sounds like it could have been produced by Camilo Lara of Mexican Institute of Sound. Over a thunderous boom-bap beat, Rubio half-raps, half-sings about how flowers and toys won't earn her love; it's exactly the kind of culture-blending, boundary-dissolving sound that encapsulates modern Latin pop, and it's brilliant".

Orígenes is the ninth studio album recorded by Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández. Produced by Kiko Campos and Pedro Ramírez, with this album he returns to his "origins" recording an album of Mexican music, but this time with his own style. He shot videos for the songs "Tantita Pena" and "Si Tú No Vuelves". The singer received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Ranchero Album in the Latin Grammy Awards of 2002; however, he lost to his father Vicente Fernández with the album Más con el Número Uno.

In 2000, she celebrated 40 years in the industry. In that year she returned to ranchera music with the album Caricias, under the production of songwriter and producer Bebu Silvetti. In 2001 Rocío Dúrcal recorded Entre Tangos Y Mariachi, again produced by Bebu Silvetti, an album that includes 10 of the most famous Argentine tango arrangements interpreted with ranchero/bolero style like her previous album. In the summer of 2001 Dúrcal made a successful tour in Spain, after 13 years of no shows in Spain.
The show was endorsed by companies and products such as iPod, iTunes, and AT&T.; Indie pulled the plug on the show in November 2008. Two months later, the entire show went off the air and switched to Spanish ranchero music. Joe's call-in entertainment law show stayed on the web version on Indie 1031 until it finally landed on Clear Channel/Iheart Media's KEIB AM 1150 in 2009, where it can still be heard today live on Sundays at 5pm to 7pm, PST.
José José was invited by Yanni to sing their song live on Yanni's tour in Mexico. He published his autobiography Esta es mi vida (This is My Life). In 2010, he released José José Ranchero, another concept album with some of his greatest hits, separated from the original accompaniment, remastered and accompanied with mariachi, giving his classics a traditional Mexican sound. The same year, José launched his own perfume, called simply "José José", the profits from sales help women and children sick with HIV/AIDS.
The album was also nominated for Album of the Year, which was awarded to La Vida... Es un Ratico, by Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes. Joan Sebastian also received two awards by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for the title track: Song of the Year and Best Regional Music Song.
Made out of acetate, early Hubley promotional models were prone to warping. A more conventional promo line by Hubley were the full-size Ford wagon and sedan series starting in 1960, a niche not covered by AMT. The 1960 Ford wagon, molded in powder blue, was apparently a contract wrestled away from PMC which had the Country Wagon and Ranchero contract for 1959. Hubley continued offering a full-size Ford wagon and sedan for the 1961 model year, but apparently only made a wagon for 1962.
During the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s, Ford would use the Squire nameplate on intermediate, mid-size, compact, and subcompact vehicles, denoting station wagons with woodgrain exterior trim. Alongside full-size Fords, the Squire name was used for the Falcon, Fairlane, Torino, Pinto, Granada, Gran Torino, LTD II, Fairmont, Escort, and mid-size LTD (the last model range to use the name). The Squire name was also used on woodgrain- trim versions of the Ranchero; in 1976, Ford offered a Pinto Squire Runabout hatchback.
After 1959, PMC's history gets fuzzy. PMC, or another caster using PMC's dies, later made simplified retail toy versions of earlier models up to as late as about 1965. Available at dime stores like G. C. Murphys, the Ranchero, Beetle, Opel, 1958 Chevrolet Cameo pickup, and probably others, were offered in a more simple style in non-warping styrene (Scale Auto Magazine 2004). They were simplified from the promo versions, with no interiors or windows and wheels were solid black styrene with or without whitewalls.
The Texas Premier Soccer League (TPSL) is a men's outdoor soccer league that was formed in 2013 consisting of amateur and semi-professional soccer club sides primarily in the Southern region of the state. 2014/15 was the second full season of play for the league. After Howard arrested two residents who tried to collect salt without paying, the residents revolted against Howard. Known as the San Elizario Salt War, this revolt resulted in the death of Howard and four other white Americans. In response, the white residents of San Elizario called upon the Texas Rangers, who, along with the U.S. Army, suppressed the rebellion and reasserted Anglo-American political power in the region. Further south, Richard King continued to actively consolidate the King Ranch in the late-1870s, usually through violent and coercive tactics directed against his Tejano ranchero neighbors.
Maria was thus a wealthy heiress, and Rains invested in three ranchos and the Bella Union Hotel in Los Angeles. Rancho Cucamonga History John Rains was murdered on November 17, 1862. Three men including Tomas Procopio Bustamante were accused but only Manuel Ceredel was caught. Ceredel claimed he, Precopio and four others were paid $500 by Ramon Carrillo, another ranchero and political opponent, to kill Rains. Ceradel was convicted of attempting to murder the sheriff's deputy who arrested him and was sentenced to 10 years in San Quentin.
In Argentina, ranches are known as estancias, and in Brazil, they are called fazendas. In much of South America, including Ecuador and Colombia, the term hacienda may be used. Ranchero or Rancho are also generic terms used throughout Latin America. In the colonial period, from the pampas regions of South America all the way to the Minas Gerais state in Brazil, including the semi-arid pampas of Argentina and the south of Brazil, were often well-suited to ranching, and a tradition developed that largely paralleled that of Mexico and the United States.
Its severity was devastating to the ranchero lifestyle and it systematically brought that period of history to a close in the Valley. Land was sold at bargain prices to entrepreneurial Americans who changed the landscape from pastoral to agricultural. David Jacks, one of the Valley's early enterprising residents purchased Rancho Los Coches in 1865. Margaret Jacks, daughter of David Jacks, donated the adobe and 10 acres of land to the State of California and the granddaughter of William B. Richardson, Adeline Richardson O’Brien, donated a marker identifying her ancestral home.
The engine was rated at (SAE net) for 1972 when installed in the Mustang, and in the Torino and Montego. An increase in the combustion chamber size and the use of smaller valves occurred in 1973, which reduced horsepower to for the four-barrel for the intermediate Fords, though it still retained the higher rating in the Mustang. The 351 CJ (now referred to as the "351 4V") was rated at in 1974 and was only installed in the Ford Ranchero, Ford Torino, Mercury Montego, and Mercury Cougar.
When Ford updated its mid-size product line for 1977, they took on the LTD name as well. To differentiate them from the full-size product lineup, the mid-size cars were called the LTD II in an attempt to appeal to buyers as a downsized alternative to the full-sized LTD which had competition from GM's newly downsized full-sized cars. The LTD II was based on the Ford Torino and served as a restyled replacement for it. The LTD II styling was also adapted to update the final generation of the Ford Ranchero.
These films featured archetypal star figures and symbols based on broad national mythologies. Some of the mythology according to Carlos Monsiváis, includes the participants in family melodramas, the masculine charros of ranchero films, femme fatales (often played by María Félix and Dolores del Río), the indigenous peoples of Emilio Fernández's films, and Cantinflas's peladito (urban miscreant). Settings were often ranches, the battlefields of the revolution, and cabarets. Movies about the Mexican Revolution focused on the initial overthrow of the Porfirio Díaz government rather than the fighting among the various factions afterwards.
Lila Downs in the "National Sor Juana Festival" 2007. Lila Downs took approximately one and a half years to prepare this project, which was released in April 2006. This CD draws on Mexican ranchero songs and merges sounds such as pop, rock, northern, cumbia and hip-hop. This CD contains fifteen tracks, of which twelve are traditional Mexican repertoire authored by Lila Downs, and includes a version in English of "La cumbia del mole", the song that to date is the most well-known work by the artist.
The album received mixed reviews from music critics; some praised Miguel's delivery and Mariachi Vargas's music, and others found its arrangements too smooth. However, it received the Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album and reached number one in Argentina, Spain and on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in the United States. By 2011, the album had sold over three million copies. Miguel embarked on a two-year tour which grossed over $90 million, the highest-grossing tour by a Latin artist.
These include queso fresco (fresh farmer's cheese), ranchero (similar to Monterey Jack), cuajada (a mildly sweet, creamy curd of fresh milk), requesón (similar to cottage cheese or ricotta), Chihuahua's creamy semi-soft queso menonita, and fifty-six varieties of asadero (smoked cheese). Another important aspect of northern cuisine is the presence of wheat, especially in the use of flour tortillas. The area has at least forty different types of flour tortillas. The main reason for this is that much of the land supports wheat production, introduced by the Spanish.
The Champs used front-end and cab sheetmetal from the 1959-60 Lark passenger cars, mated to their existing light-duty truck chassis and drive trains. The Champs were created in response to the Ford Ranchero (introduced in 1957) and Chevrolet El Camino (introduced in 1959), which used passenger car styling and features in a light-duty pickup truck. The Transtar name reappeared on Studebaker's medium- and heavy-duty trucks (1- and 2-ton) for 1960, and continued to be used on these trucks up through its 1964 models.
In his views on the need for land reform in Mexico, he advocated for the increase in the ranchero group.Shadle, Andrés Molina Enríquez, p. 16. In The Great National Problems, Molina Enríquez concluded that the Porfirio Díaz regime had promoted the growth of large haciendas although they were not as productive as small holdings. Citing his nearly decade long tenure as a notary, his claims were well-founded that haciendas were vastly under-assessed for tax purposes and that small holders were disadvantaged against the wealth and political connections of large estate owners.
In 2005, with the album "Historias De Mi Tierra," he made a tribute to El Corrido. Songs like "Dos Amigos," “El Federal De Caminos," and "El Corrido de Chihuahua" are included in this work. The CD gave Pepe another Latin Grammy for 'Mejor Álbum Ranchero' and gave him another American Grammy for 'Mejor Álbum Mexicano Americano'. On August 15, 2006, the CD "Enamorado," the second part of "Por El Amor De Siempre" (1999) was released, and in it is the main song of the Novela "Destilando Amor," called "Por Amarte.
Most years, PMC packaged its cars and trucks in fairly bright, colorful boxes – often with accurate illustrations of the vehicles adorning their sides. Often boxes would say "A Tru-Miniature" on the sides in large letters – possibly making some believe that was the name of the company. Most PMC models throughout the years did not have interiors, exceptions being convertibles like the 1953 Chevrolets, the Corvettes, and the 1959 Ford Ranchero and Country Sedan station wagon. Of course, early Chevy cars were banks, so a detailed interior was not offered.
The Lo Nuestro Award for Ranchero Artist of the Year was an award presented annually by American network Univision. It was first awarded in 2001 and has been given annually since. The accolade was established to recognize the most talented performers of Latin music. The nominees and winners were originally selected by a voting poll conducted among program directors of Spanish- language radio stations in the United States and also based on chart performance on Billboard Latin music charts, with the results being tabulated and certified by the accounting firm Deloitte.
And the differing rates of that tempo comes from the three common Ranchera rhythm speeds, the polka at 2/4 (ranchera polkeada), the waltz at 3/4 (ranchera valseada), and/or the bolero at 4/4 (bolero ranchero). The salsa is made with red or green tomatoes, that are roasted with onion, garlic and chillies until golden, all blended and boiled in water, and may be seasoned with coriander leaves.
In the very last episode of the "Cities" series ( Episode #80) Chef Fearing put his exclamation point on his Southwestern Cuisine with his offering of a Baked Potato Enchilada on Pico de Gallo with Ancho Ranchero Sauce and a Mexican Tortilla Salad. Many of the young up and coming chefs that appeared in the "Great Chefs" series became household names ~ Many of them (if not all) were in the process of achieving "Celebrity Chef" status (if they hadn't achieved it already). Chef Dean Fearing was no exception. Fearing is a guitarist and started to play with friend and fellow chef Robert Del Grande.

Mole and other dishes simmering in cazuelas in Chalma, Malinalco, Mexico State Various types of mole sauces can be found throughout the center of Mexico toward the south. The word guacamole (avocado sauce) is derived from "guaca" (from “aguacate” or avocado) and the word mole.
Gonzales was an absentee ranchero who lived with his large family of thirteen children near Mission Santa Cruz, while vaqueros and other laborers tended to the rancho. A claim for Rancho Pescadero was filed with the Public Land Commission in 1852.United States. District Court (California : Northern District) Land Case 104 ND Gonzales had originally requested a four square league grant, from Rancho San Gregorio on the north to Rancho Punta del Año Nuevo on the south; yet the grant papers specified the grant as only one league along the coast by three quarters of a league wide.
John Gilroy (1794–1869) spent the next few years moving around among the missions, pueblos and ranchos, plying his trade as a cooper (barrel maker). At first, by his own account in an 1856 letter to Thomas O. Larkin, Gilroy was one of only two English-speakers resident in Alta California. Eventually, he found his way to Rancho San Ysidro, converted to Roman Catholicism and became the first naturalized English-speaking settler in Alta California. In 1821, the same year Mexico won its independence from Spain, Gilroy married a daughter of his employer, ranchero Ygnacio Ortega.

On March 31, 2010, the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication of the University of Georgia announced that the Late Late Show had won the Peabody Award for Excellence in Television for its "Evening with Archbishop Desmond Tutu" episode.

The Billboard review stated: :Packaging eight Latin lullabies which Bing Crosby cut in an earlier day, it all adds up to a likely El Bingo binge for the fans. A romantic ranchero, Crosby sings to Xavier Cugat's music for "Siboney, Hasta Manana, You Belong to My Heart" and "Baia". For the other two records in the set, it's the single spirited spin for "Alla En El Rancho Grande" with the Foursome adding their vocal harmonies and John Scott Trotter making the music just as spirited. Trotter frames the musical back for the pash "Amor" piping to complete the platter.
Luis Miguel in Mexico City in 2006 In 2004, Luis Miguel released his Mexico En La Piel. For this album he received a diamond disc and won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2005 and also the Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album. He launched his Mexico En La Piel Tour in 2005. In 2006, Luis Miguel performed thirty shows between 18 January and 27 February at the National Auditorium in Mexico City.
Los Angeles Times critic Augustin Gurza also gave the album two out of four stars, writing that the tracks were "dressed up by busy orchestral arrangements that replace country grittiness with urbane pretensions." According to Gurza, Mariachi Vargas couldn't "muster much mariachi spirit" and the record seemed "soulless." Mario Tarradell of The Dallas Morning News called it Miguel's "best disc in years", noting that the album "showcases the Mexican vocalist challenging himself with a batch of passionate songs". At the 6th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2005, México en la Piel was the Best Ranchero Album.
The same year she released La Diva en Vivo, a live album that consisted of songs recorded with a mariachi band, which garnered her, her second Latin Grammy nomination for Best Ranchero Album. That year she was the only female singer nominated in that category. The album was recorded at The Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California, Rivera sold out the concert which led her to become the first female banda singer to do so. Her tenth studio album, Jenni released in 2008, became her first No. 1 record on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in the United States.
The condition of the team plummeted and was only able to gain four points out of twelfth placing them in 5th place at the end of the season. Selección Jalisco ended participating in the 1940–41, 1941–42, and 1942–43 seasons where their performance left them in mid table. During those seasons the team was composed of notable players such as Villavicencio, "El Pelón" Gutiérrez, "Pirracas" Castellanos, Rodrigo Ruiz, "Tilo" García, Max Prieto, Luis Reyes, "El Cosas" López, "El Ranchero" Torres, Lupe Velázquez, Pablo "Pablotas" Gonzalez, "El Zarco" Vazquez, and Bonfiglio who was the goalkeeper and head coach.
The character gradually moves from the "desolate" to civilization, and Travis continually tries to break away from this difficult transition. His vehicles of choice possibly also reflect his characterization, as his preferred rental car has a bump, and he switches to a clearly used 1958 Ford Ranchero for his return to Texas. Thomas Elsaesser discussed how Paris, Texas fit in with Wenders' depiction of women, saying many of the travels in his filmography are to find a particular woman. In the case of Paris, Texas, this is with the aim of "escaping her 'now' in order to find her as she was 'then'".
She is known for being one of the few Latin singers of the 1980s who are still active in the market, due to her capacity for evolution and skills as an artist. Yuri is a professional dancer, so she easily includes dances and choreographies in her concerts, which include costume changes, visual screens, dancers and set design, elements that are rare in Latin artists and much less in her generation. She has been known for including the genre pop and ballad on her albums, but throughout her career she has included various rhythms, such as rock, bolero, salsa, Ranchero, gospel and many more.
In one segment, he looks up abruptly from his book and says "That cameraman has the motht muthcular legth..." It was probably a Kovacs ad-lib, if one can judge from the off-camera laughter and the momentary shaking of the camera. In one of his poems, about a cowboy, one of the lines was "Are you really a gay ranchero?" The term "gay" in that sense was not often heard on television at that time. Percy would sometimes talk to the off-camera crew (who were frequently heard laughing at Kovacs' ad-libs), or to his unseen "friend," Bruce.
Ford wagons were offered from 1955 through 1959. The '55 was offered as a 'Red Cross Ambulance' (Timm 2010, PMC Literature, page 7). Normally the promo versions were painted and had green tinted windows while retail versions lacked the paint and went windowless (Doty 2011, 87). PMC's last promotionals were 1959 Fords in a slightly larger scale about 1:20; the Ranchero and Country Sedan wagon (AMT had the two-door hardtops and convertibles). PMC's late 1950s Ford Motor Company offerings were not limited to the Ford brand – the company also produced the 1959 Mercury Park Lane convertible in promotional and retail form.
The earlier of these retail versions of the Ranchero were still molded in two-tone colors, but later, solid colors were used (turquoise green or red were two choices). These were offered as either unassembled kits or assembled models, sometimes poly-bagged (Scale Auto Magazine 2004). It appears 1959 was a pivotal year for promotional model makers, and PMC in particular. Perhaps some of the company's decline had to do with the expense of engineering the new non-warping styrene plastic mixed with the tooling required to make the ever more popular kits that other manufacturers took up.
This record was broken on October 25, 2008 by Solís with the debut of his ninth number-one album No Molestar. Vicente Fernández's Para Siempre won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album; it spent three non-consecutive weeks at the top of the chart. Primera Fila, a live album by Fernández, was the last number-one album of 2008. With 26,000 album units sold, Daddy Yankee debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200 with Talento de Barrio, a soundtrack for the movie that starred the reggaeton performer, which also debuted at number one on this chart.

By 1960 Vargas was ready to make his professional wrestling debut, choosing the name "Ranchero" Vargas as his ring name. In 1962 Vargas became an enmascarado, or masked wrestler, when he adopted the ring persona "Gato Negro" (Spanish for "Black Cat"). His run as a masked wrestler came to an end after less than a year when Vargas lost a Luchas de Apuesta (bet match) to José Gómez and was forced to unmask afterwards. Following his stint as Gato Negro he began working as "Cruz Diablo", teaming with Black Gordman to form Los Hermanos Diablo ("The Devil Brothers").
In 1972 El Solitario defeated Ángel Blanco in a Luchas de Apuesta match, unmasking him in the process. The feud between La Ola Blanca did not slow down due to the unmasking and drew full houses all over Mexico as La Ola faced El Solitario and various partners such as El Santo or Rayo de Jalisco. On October 26, 1973, Ángel Blanco finally lost the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship to Enrique Vera, ending a more than three-year-long title reign. Following his unmasking Vargas sometimes wrestled as "Ranchero" Vargas, but kept returning to his "Ángle Blanco" name.
From about 1848 to about 1860 the rancheros enjoyed the "golden" days of Hispanic California. The largely illiterate ranchero owners lost nearly all their land to a few bad years for cattle in the 1860s and the many mortgages they had taken out to finance a "prosperous" life style and could no longer pay back. In the early years of the Gold Rush the demand for beef was so great that there are records of about 60,000 longhorns being herded from Texas to California.Hutchinson, W. H.; California: Two Centuries of Man, Land, and Growth in the Golden State, p.
In 1856, ailing and in financial straits, Captain Richardson put Rancho Saucelito into the hands of an administrator, Samuel R. Throckmorton, and died two months later.Robert Ryal Miller, 1995, Captain Richardson: Mariner, Ranchero, and Founder of San Francisco, La Loma Press, Berkeley Samuel Reading Throckmorton (1809 - 1883), who had come to San Francisco in 1850 as an agent for an eastern mining business, was the administrator of Richardson's estate. Throckmorton acquired a major part of Rancho Sausalito as payment of debt. In 1868, Throckmorton sold to a group of San Francisco businessmen who called themselves the Sausalito Land & Ferry Company.
Procopio's first reported involvement in banditry came on November 17, 1862 when he was suspected in the murder of a Southern California rancher John Raines (or Rains), on the Rancho Cucamonga. Though the San Francisco Chronicle later reported that Procopio murdered Raines, and he was initially detained in the case, Procopio was released due to the lack of evidence against him. John Boessenecker, writes that Procopio fled north and that another confederate Manuel Cerada was caught and fingered Procopio as one of the killers. Cerrada claimed he, Procopio and four others were paid $500 by Ramon Carrillo, another ranchero, to kill Rains.
In 1852 William W. Twist was appointed Sheriff of Santa Barbara County but was later replaced by Valentine W. Hearne. Sheriff Hearne's part of the lynching of two Santa Barbara Californios accused of murder in Los Angeles, in the later San Gabriel Affair was not pleasing to Dr. Nicolas A. Den (owner of the Dos Pueblos Rancho) and the de la Guerras (an influential Californio ranchero family in the county), who were his principal sureties, they withdrew from his bonds, thus forcing him to resign. On August 10 Charles Fernald was appointed in his place. In the November 1852, election W. W. Twist, was elected to the office.
2005 Hot Wheels Classics Series 1 car, still in package The Hot Wheels Classics line was an immediate hit with enthusiasts everywhere. The new line focused on muscle cars, hot rods, and other offbeat vehicles (such as a go-kart, a motor home and even an airplane), many from the company's first ten years (1968–78) of production. The series is also used to debut several different castings, such as the 1965 Chevy Malibu or the 1972 Ford Ranchero. Series 1 from 2005 consisted of 25 models, each with all-metal body and chassis, decked out with Spectraflame paint, in packages similar to those used from 1968 to 1972.
1985 Subaru BRAT The Subaru BRAT (a backronym for Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter) was a coupe utility version of the Subaru Leone originally introduced in 1977. The BRAT was developed directly from the company's four- wheel drive station wagon model and was first introduced as a 1978 model – following the concept of coupe utilities such as the Chevrolet El Camino and the Ford Ranchero. The Brat was also known as Brumby, MV or Shifter depending on where it was sold. American versions also had carpeting and welded-in rear- facing jumpseats in the cargo area – serving actually to circumvent a tariff known as the Chicken tax.

Thom Jurek of Allmusic gave the album gave the album four out of five stars and called it "lush and elegant". Jurek went on to say that Nodal "evokes traces of the great romantic singers like Vincente Fernandez, and Luis Miguel." Me Dejé Llevar earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Ranchero Album at the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2018, which went to Luis Miguel for ¡México Por Siempre!. It was nominated for Regional Mexican Album of the Year at the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards, while Nodal was awarded Regional Mexican Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year.
The first sound film in Mexico was made in 1931, called Desde Santa. The first Mexican film genre appeared between 1920 and 1940, called ranchero. Mexico has twice won the highest honor at the Cannes Film Festival, having won the Grand Prix du Festival International du Film for María Candelaria in 1946 and the Palme d'Or in 1961 for Viridiana, more than any other Latin American nation. While Mexico's Golden Age of Cinema is regarded as the 1940s and 1950s, two films from the mid to late 1930s, Allá en el Rancho Grande (1936) and Vámonos con Pancho Villa (1935), set the standard of this age thematically, aesthetically, and ideologically.

The Ford LTD II is an automobile that was marketed and produced by Ford Motor Company between 1977 and 1979 in the United States and Canada. Deriving its name from the full-size Ford LTD model line, the intermediate LTD II consolidated the Ford Torino and Gran Torino model lines, with the Ford Elite replaced by the Ford Thunderbird. Offered in a two-door sedan, four-door sedan, and station wagon, the LTD II also served as a basis for the final generation of the Ford Ranchero coupe utility. During its production, the Lincoln-Mercury Division sold the LTD II under the Mercury Cougar badge, replacing the Mercury Montego.
Ay, Amor offered a wider appeal to her music by offering some alternate takes on Grupero, and even some ranchero flavored ballads like No Ha Sido Facil, and Entre Ella y Yo. Her attractive appearance and sensual dancing style captivated Latin America audiences during promotional tours with hit singles and music videos of No Lloraré and Ya No Te Creo Nada. In 1997 she released her first and only calendar. Coors Light beer also selected Bárbara as their Hispanic promotional figure for marketing and advertising. Later that year she returned to Miami, Florida for the annual Calle 8 Music Festival where she was crowned "Queen" of the 1997 parade.
Artists, teachers, designers, engineers, and native plant restorationists worked tirelessly to develop and construct exhibits that evoke the Spanish ranchero period, the agricultural era, and the rich culture of the Ohlone people, who inhabited the area for at least 10,000 years. Alex Henderson of Allmusic gave the album four out of five stars and said, "La Diva de la Banda has no problem excelling in a mariachi-oriented environment." Leila Cobo of Billboard magazine said, " Rivera,... went out on a limb on her first ranchera album and delivered a jewel." The album earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Ranchero Album at the 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2010, which went to Vicente Fernández for Necesito de Tí. It also received a nomination at the 2010 Oye! Awards for Popular Album of the Year, but lost to Alejandro Fernández for Dos Mundos: Evolución + Tradición.
In the same year, after conquering the youth market with a ballad, Lucero opened a new facet in her career with ranchero genre performing cover versions of the hits of the famous band, Los Bukis, in her album Con Mi Sentimiento, produced by the composer Rubén Fuentes. Her performances abroad earned her as a strong reputation as a Mexican singer in Latin America, Spain and the United States, giving her also the nickname of Lucero de México and La Novia de América (The Bride of America). She appeared in her sixth film, Deliciosa Sinvergüenza (Delicious rascal). In 1991, she released Sólo Pienso En Ti which achieved gold and platinum status in Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
Aguirre also owned portions of Santa Cruz Island and Rancho San Pedro, making him one of the largest landowners in Alta California in the late 1840s. In 1853, José Antonio Aguirre bought Rancho San Jacinto Nuevo y Potrero from the estate of Miguel Pedrorena. An English mariner who had picked up a fluency in Spanish during his travels, he quickly became an influential presence in the now-Mexican territory. By 1825, Richardson had assumed Mexican citizenship, converted to Catholicism and married the daughter of Don Ignacio Martínez, commandant of the Presidio and holder of a large land grant. In comparison to the LTD II, the downsized LTD was 11 inches shorter in length and 4 inches shorter in wheelbase, an inch narrower, and 500 pounds lighter; despite the smaller exterior footprint, the LTD rivaled its full-size predecessor in interior space. As the Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar were downsized to the Ford Fox platform for 1980, the Ford Torino chassis was discontinued after 1979. After 1979, the Ford Ranchero was indirectly replaced by the Ford Ranger, as the coupe utility pickup segment was phased out in favor of compact pickup trucks in the United States. After its 1979 discontinuation, the Ford LTD II never saw a direct successor in the Ford product line.

Lástima Que Sean Ajenas received a Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album at the 15th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2014 and a Grammy nomination for Best Regional Mexican Music Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in 2015. Aguilar competed against Fernandez’s 2014 release of Mano a Mano Tangos a La Manera de Vicente Fernández in both categories, with Aguilar winning the Latin Grammy and Fernández receiving the Grammy. Aguilar dedicated the Latin Grammy Award to Fernández and said it was an honor to be able to sing his songs. Fernández’s son, Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández criticized Aguilar for the recording saying that no one could ever replace his father.

The Ford Falcon is a front-engine, rear-drive six passenger compact car produced by Ford from 1959 to 1970, across three generations. With the cession of California to the United States following the Mexican-American War, the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo provided that the land grants would be honored. As required by the Land Act of 1851, a claim for Rancho San Jacinto Sobrante was filed with the Public Land Commission in 1852.
That same model was the basis for the new 1957 Ranchero, and a Mercury version called the Mercury Commuter which was a hardtop inspired wagon without a "B" pillar. There were three Ranch Wagons the following year, as the first four-door Ranch Wagon was added to the model range. The Del Rio was dropped for 1959, replaced by a one-year-only two-door Country Sedan. By this time, full-size two-door station wagons were fast fading in popularity, and the 1961 two-door Ranch Wagon was the last full-size two-door wagon ever built (along with the two-door Plymouth Deluxe Suburban of that same year), leaving the four-door as the sole Ranch Wagon model for 1962.
Isaac Williams (1799–1856) was an American fur trapper, merchant, later a rancher and owner of Rancho Santa Ana del Chino in what is now the cities of Chino, California and Chino Hills, California in San Bernardino County, California. Isaac Williams was born near Scranton, Pennsylvania, and had resided in Ohio and Missouri before leaving Fort Smith in 1831, with the Bean- Sinclair trapping party for the Rocky Mountains. At Taos he joined the Ewing Young fur trapping expedition that arrived in Los Angeles, Alta California on April 14, 1832. Williams remained there, where he became known as Julian by the locals, and worked as a merchant before he married Maria de Jesus Lugo, daughter of the ranchero Antonio Maria Lugo in 1839.
Some of the models in which the FE was installed: Ford Galaxie, Ford Custom 500, Ford Mustang, Ford Thunderbird - 3rd generation, Ford Thunderbird - 4th generation, Ford LTD, Ford Torino, Ford Ranchero, Ford Talladega, Ford Fairlane, Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt, and F-Series trucks though typically only those 1 ton and lesser in capacity. In addition to its use in Ford and Mercury branded vehicles, the FE was also sold to third parties for use in their own products such as buses, and boats. Also, the FE was used to power irrigation pumps, generators and other machinery where long-running, low-rpm, reliable service was required. Ford regularly made updates to the design of the FE which appear as engineering codes or variations in casting numbers of parts.
The Ford Durango is a two-passenger coupe utility sold in limited production by Ford Motor Company between the 1979 and 1982 model years. The vehicle was the result of a joint venture between Ford and National Coach Works, located in Los Angeles, California. While not officially a production vehicle or a replacement for the Ford Ranchero (which ended production after the 1979 model year), the Durango was designed as a potential competitor to the newly downsized Chevrolet El Camino and was commissioned by Ford to be sold through Ford dealerships. As no official totals were kept by either company production estimates vary between the low 200s and 350, with 212 conversions known to have been made by National Coach Works.
In 2003, the group undergoes a change of members, now becoming a cluster of six elements, and launch La Decada, as part of the celebration of that tenth anniversary in Disa, and that career. Next, in 2005, released two albums, Ranchero, with the songs "En tu basura" and "Que se te olvido", and El gigante de la musica norteña, with the singles "No te culpes", "La otra", "Que voy a hacer sin ti" (With Pablo Montero), and "Porque tenia que conocerte", and again change that logo. In 2006, launched that second live album 13 años de Exitos En Vivo, an album with DVD. In 2007, appears Por siempre, with the songs "Que me parta un rayo", "Hablemos" and "Ya vez".
Adding insult to injury, Ford dropped its full-size Ranchero model and neither did PMC get the contract for the new Falcon-based pickup. Perhaps the company's decision to exit production of promotional and car models was also due to a peripheral headquarters location in Milwaukee – away from close contact with Detroit's design offices. PMC, after establishing some unique niches for itself with GM and IH over a decade, diminished into retail toy markets for a few years, and then abandoned most car model production. Today known as PM Plastics the company is still headquartered in Pewaukee, Wisconsin and makes plastic trays, containers, exercise steps, ramps, and other products (though a neat pontoon plane is shown on the company website) (PM Plastics website).
The music video was directed by Peter Zavadil and premiered in mid-2003. It tells the story of the song's events in retrospect as the narrator looks over the damage he incurred from his wild night with Becky (such as pulling a corn leaf from the undercarriage of his Ford Ranchero or looking at the scar he picked up from his fight with the "mountain of a man with a 'Born to Kill' tattoo", which apparently is Becky's ex-boyfriend) while wondering if it was really worth it. The video features Lauren Elaine as "Becky", the white tank-top wearing "beauty from South Alabama". Elaine also appears in "How Am I Doin'", "Lot of Leavin' Left to Do", and "Am I the Only One" as the same character.
Body styles included two- and four-door sedans, two- or four-door station wagons, and the Ranchero car-based pickup, transferred onto the Falcon platform for 1960 from the Fairlane. The Comet, originally intended for the defunct Edsel marque and based on the 1960 Falcon, was launched in the US in March 1960. (By 1962 the Comet adopted more Mercury-based styling and was folded into the Mercury line as the Mercury Comet.) The market shift which spurred the development of the Falcon and its competitors also precipitated the demise of several well-established marques in the late-1950s and early-1960s. Besides the infamous tale of the Edsel, the Nash, Hudson, DeSoto, and Packard nameplates all disappeared from the marketplace. In 1960, Ford's Canadian subsidiary introduced the Falcon-based Frontenac.
By 1973, its fourth restyling, it drifts even more away from the original design, as it gets a new redesigned dashboard with round instruments and tachometer on deluxe models, a new grill with several thick horizontal bars and quad headlights become squarer in design. A sporting Falcon Sprint was introduced with new refreshing color schemes, painted stripes, 14-inch sports wheels and E70x14 red-striped Firestone Wide-Tread tires were standard and a higher performance 166 bhp (124.5 kW) specially tuned 3.6-litre (221 cid) engine, on the interior it included additional gauges and leather-covered sports steering wheel and leatherette bucket seats of exclusive design. The Deluxe trim of the Rural station wagon was dropped. A pickup, called the Ranchero, was introduced with Standard and Deluxe external trim and a heavy-duty brake option.
Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira peaked at number-one with her album Loba in 2009. Ford also marketed version of their Ranchero model, a coupe utility produced between 1957 and 1979 with an open bed like a pickup truck but from a station wagon platform, with simulated woodgrain siding. In 1973, Ford produced a minivan prototype that offered a woodgrain appearance the preceded the Chrysler minivan, called the Ford Carousel, but it was not put into production. Introduced in 1981, the Ford Escort and Mercury Lynx four- door wagons offered optional simulated wood trim. GM offered its full-size wagons in wood trim versions until their final year in 1996. From 1982 to 1988, Chrysler used the Town & Country name on a station wagon version of the K-based, front wheel drive LeBaron, featuring plastic woodgrain exterior trim with three dimensional simulated framework.
Renowned for high-performance strength and durability, the Toploader (particularly the four-speed) was equipped in such sought after "A-list" cars as the Mustang, Talladega, AC Cobra, AC Frua and Sunbeam Tiger as well as the Ford Fairlane, Falcon, Galaxie, Ranchero, Torino, Bronco and the Mercury Comet, Caliente, Cyclone, (Mercury Cougar 1967 1973) and Marauder. Overall, the Toploader was used in 133 different models and was used extensively in racing as well. The 3 speed 3.03 was also the heavy duty transmission in 1960s Oldsmobile, Buick and Pontiac cars, with FOMOCO cast into the right side of the case; such was common in those days, as Lincoln used GM's Hydra-Matic transmission for years in the early 1950s. It is the Jeep T150 with a cast top cover and a floor ("cane") shifter.
He salted in humor and sympathy for colorful characters such as canny Indian guides and "greenhorn" campers who carried too much gear. White also illustrated some of his books with his own photographs, while some of his other books were illustrated by artists, such as the American Western painter Fernand Lungren for "The Mountains" and "Camp and Trail". Theodore Roosevelt wrote that White was "the best man with both pistol and rifle who ever shot" at Roosevelt's rifle range at Sagamore Hill. The Long Rifle (1930), Folded Hills (1932), Ranchero (1933), and Stampede (1942) constitute The Saga of Andy Burnett, which follows a young Pennsylvania farm boy who escapes his overbearing step father by running away to the West with grandmother's blessing and "The Boone Gun", the original Kentucky rifle carried by Daniel Boone.
A colorized lobby card showing a scene from the film, 1920 The Mark of Zorro tells the story of Don Diego Vega, the outwardly foppish son of a wealthy ranchero Don Alejandro in the old Spanish California of the early 19th century. Seeing the mistreatment of the peons by rich landowners and the oppressive colonial government, Don Diego, who is not as effete as he pretends, has taken the identity of the masked Robin Hood-like rogue Señor Zorro ("Mr. Fox"), champion of the people, who appears out of nowhere to protect them from the corrupt administration of Governor Alvarado, his henchman the villainous Captain Juan Ramon and the brutish Sergeant Pedro Gonzales (Noah Beery, Wallace Beery's older half-brother). With his sword flashing and an athletic sense of humor, Zorro scars the faces of evildoers with his mark, "Z".
Mexican singer-songwriter Julieta Venegas peaked at number-one with her live album MTV Unplugged in 2008. The highest-selling compact discs and music downloads in Mexico are ranked in the Top 100 Mexico record chart published weekly by AMPROFON (Asociación Mexicana de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas), a non-profit organization made up of Mexican and multinational record companies. In 2008, 11 albums reached number-one in the chart, including Para Siempre, the 79th studio album by Vicente Fernández, spent 14 non-consecutive weeks at the top and was certified Diamond in México. The album also won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album in the 2008 ceremony, became the best-selling album of the year in México, and hit the top of the chart in the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in the United States, where it was the second best-selling Latin album of the year.
For 1962, Ford used the Fairlane nameplate for a third model range, sized between the Falcon and Galaxie (sharing components from both model lines); named an intermediate, the Fairlane was an ancestor of the mid-size car segment of today. Following the expansion of Ford chassis, several Ford body styles ended their production during this generation. Following a large decline in demand, 1960 marked the final year of the Ford Courier sedan delivery (largely replaced by the Ford Econoline van, derived from the Falcon) and 1961 marked the end of the two-door Ranch Wagon (with all Ford station wagons becoming four-doors). The Ranchero shifted to the compact Falcon chassis for 1960, ending its commonality with full-size Fords. For 1961, Mercury downsized its model line; in what would be a precedent through 1978, Mercury full-size sedans became mechanical counterparts of the full-size Ford, distinguished by a slightly longer wheelbase.
Mexican singer-songwriter Marco Antonio Solís became the first performer to peak at number one 4 times in the same calendar year: twice as the lead member of Los Bukis and twice as a solo artist with La Historia Continúa... and Tu Amor o Tu Desprecio. Ranchero performer Pepe Aguilar debuted at number two on the chart on April 12, 2003 with Y Tenerte Otra Vez and the following week climbed to number one. Un Día Normal, by Colombian performer Juanes, reached the top spot of the chart on its 68th week, 17 days after it won the Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Mexican singer Luis Miguel released his 16th studio album, 33, which became his fifth number-one set, while fellow Mexican norteño music band Los Tigres del Norte peaked at the top of this chart for the fourth time (out of 13 releases) with Herencia Musical: 20 Corridos Inolvidables.
This was the start of an intense and extremely successful international career as a songwriter, producer and businessman in Miami, Fl. In 1997 Santander created Santander Music Group, a company that is principally engaged in musical production. After Gloria Estefan's album Abriendo Puertas (in which he composed all the songs) he received the Latin Grammy for Best Tropical Album in 1997. During this year, he composed and produced six songs for the album "Me Estoy Enamorando" (I'm In Love) for Alejandro Fernández, who was nominated for a Grammy and sold more than three million copies worldwide, making the transition from Ranchero to the Pop music market. Santander also obtained his second Grammy Award for his song "Mi Verdad" (My Truth), performed by Alejandro Fernández, winner for "Best Regional Song" and, in 1999, he also won a second consecutive award BMI "Songwriter of the Year" for "Best Latin Song" with "Si Tú Supieras" (If You Knew).
The Hispanos of New Mexico, also known as Neomexicanos (), or "Nuevomexicanos" are an ethnic group primarily residing in the U.S. state of New Mexico, as well as the southern portion of Colorado. They are typically variously of Iberian, Criollo Spaniard, Mestizo, and Genízaro heritage, and are descended from Spanish-speaking settlers of the historical region of Santa Fe de Nuevo México, which makes up the present day U.S. states of New Mexico (Nuevo México), southern Colorado, and parts of Arizona, Texas, and Utah. Neomexicanos speak New Mexican English, Neomexicano Spanish, or both bilingually, and identify with the culture of New Mexico displaying patriotism in regional Americana, pride for various cities and towns such as Albuquerque or Santa Fe, and expressing through New Mexican cuisine and New Mexico music, as well as in Ranchero and U.S. Route 66 cruising lifestyles. Alongside Californios and Tejanos, they are part of the larger Hispano communities of the United States, which have lived in the American Southwest since the 16th century or earlier (since many individuals are from mestizo communities, and thus, also of indigenous descent).
Vicente Fernández, the biggest ranchera music performer, picked May 5, 2009, a very special date for Mexican history, since it is the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, to release his new single, "Necesito de Ti". After the success of his 79th studio album Para Siempre, which led to a Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album and three top ten hits in the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart ("Estos Celos", "La Derrota" and "Para Siempre"), and the release of his live album Primera Fila, which included his first number-one hit in the Latin charts in United States, "El Último Beso", Fernández recorded his new album, tentatively named Necesito de Ti, under the production of Manuel Cázares. This single is a ranchera ballad, written by Manuel Toscano, a Latin Grammy Award nominee in 2001 for his song "Piérdeme el Respeto" performed by Paquita la del Barrio. Toscano has written songs for several singers and groups, including El Chapo de Sinaloa, Rayito Colombiano, Alejandro Fernández, Ana Gabriel, Ramón Ayala, Lucía Méndez, Grupo Pesado, Jenni Rivera and Los Tigres del Norte.
1972 Ford Courier 1975 Ford Courier In the early 1970s, the Ford Courier name was applied to the Mazda B-Series, a compact pickup manufactured by Mazda. It had greater fuel economy than the full-sized pickups of the time. The Courier was manufactured by Toyo Kogyo (Mazda) and imported to North America and sold by Ford Motor Company as a response to the unforeseen popularity of the small Toyota and Nissan/Datsun Pickups. It occupied the market segment previously held by the Ford Falcon- based Ranchero when that platform was upgraded to the larger Ford Fairlane in 1966. Like the other minipickups of the time, it featured a four-cylinder engine, a four-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, an impressive load capability of 1,400 lb (635 kg) considering its size, and a fairly small price tag compared to full-sized pickups of the time. To circumvent the 25% "chicken tax" on light trucks, Couriers (as with Chevrolet LUVs) were imported in "cab chassis" configurations, which included the entire light truck - less the cargo box or truck bed - and were only subject to a 4% tariff.
