Forbush-Man's next appearance came in Not Brand Echh #8 (June 1968), when he applies for membership with the Avengers parody the Revengers, the S.H.I.E.L.D. parody S.H.E.E.S.H, and finally the X-Men parody The Echhs-Men. His third major appearance came in Not Brand Ecch #13 (May 1969, the comic's final issue), which finds him in a loose parody of Silver Surfer #5 (April 1969). Writer Lee himself puts in an appearance as Marble Comics' "Fearless Leader" in the final two panels.

Q puts in an appearance. Although he toys with Picard while asking to be allowed to attend the wedding festivities, he promises to behave himself. Q attracts Lwaxana's notice, and she is fascinated by Q. To Picard's horror, Q fans the flames of love. Later, Q also begins to fan the animosity between the two Tizarin houses, mainly by feeding on the occasional blowups between the bride and groom, who are themselves irritated: Sehra by her future father-in-law Nistral's comments and Kerin by his future mother-in- law Mrs.

While one or two episodes seem unlikely e.g. Aubrey's confrontation with a senior staff officer who orders the continuation of a pointless attack, it is generally a well-balanced portrayal that does not avoid the realities of the time and place. Some significant characters die while the different living conditions and expectations of the social classes are referenced, although rarely criticised. The standard 'selfish worker at home, striking for pay while their colleagues die in France' puts in an appearance but so do those working and dying in munitions factories.

Many of the numbers on this album are indeed familiar tunes, but hardly in this context. On the track called "Wenlock Safari" for example a dance tune from the Welsh border country gets grafted onto the South African township sound of "Tom Hark" and also Bert Kaempfert's classic "Swinging Safari". The folk-standard "Jenny Lind" transforms into the calypso of "Yellow Bird". The music of the renaissance puts in an appearance with "Pass et Medio" from Tielman Susato's 16th century collection, which is introduced on recorders playing in four-part harmony, only for a ska beat to appear from the bass and suddenly the musical landscape is transformed.
