The personnel and some equipment have continued their service in new OSBiH. Jet aircraft are put in storage because of the lack of spare parts and the high costs to operate them. Because of that, some jet pilots have been retrained to be helicopter pilots, but left the service.
Harris Academy's façade at the former Perth Road building The original Harris Academy facade was built at the front of the original Perth Road building in 1931. The facade was built as a main entrance to the building from the 1930s until the 1960s when an extension with other entrances were built. During the construction of the new Harris Academy, the facade was put in storage along with the clock tower and once the new building was completed, the original facade was retained at the reception area of the new school.
Fortune drowned in an accident in the Naugatuck River in 1798, and Dr. Porter dissected his body and preserved his skeleton for anatomic study. The doctor then opened a “School for Anatomy,” which used Fortune's bone as the source of study. The anatomically inscribed skeleton was found in 1910 in a boarded up closet of the Porter house. The Porter family held Fortune's remains before donating them to the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, where they were on display through the 1970s, after which point they were put in storage.
There was a banquet at Manor Heath, where 100 people serenaded him in the rain, then there was a balloon ascent and a firework display. Hundreds of men had to be drafted in to control crowds arriving at Halifax railway station, and more were placed along the line to control the hundreds of extra trains. When the town hall was opened to the public on 11 August, the mayor presented four marble busts of Victoria, Albert, Edward and Alexandra. These were put in storage from 1954 after redecoration and restored to public view on 6 September 2008.
The Wilbour Papyrus is a papyrus purchased by the New York journalist Charles Edwin Wilbour from a farmer when he visited the island of Elephantine near Aswan in 1893. There he purchased seventeen papyri from a local farmer. He did not realize the importance of his find and when he died in a hotel in Paris his belongings, including the papyri (among these the Brooklyn Papyrus and the Elephantine Papyri), were put in storage by the hotel and not returned to his family for nearly half a century. At the request of his widow, they were donated to the Brooklyn Museum.
Just like his predecessor, Mr. Fernald also faced the problem of a lack of space, exhibition cases, and money which limited how he could expand and add to the collections. Many specimens that the museum collected had to be put in storage due to the deficiency of space. On February 9, 1925, he wrote the dean Mr. Miner and made him aware of the limitations that he was under in addition to asking him for eight hundred dollars to one thousand dollars each year so that he would have the opportunity to buy new equipment.Fernald, Adelbert.
Carlomagno Pedro Martínez became involved at this time, raising money from the Mexican community in the United States to help keep the museum afloat. By the early 2000s, continued financial problems plus disputes over use of the space led to the decision to close the community museum and build a new one sponsored by the state government. In 2002, the original museum collection was put in storage and remained there until the new and current MEAPO museum was constructed then inaugurated in 2004. It remains today, under the operation of the state's Comisión del Patrimonio Edificado del Estado de Oaxaca (COPAE) agency.
While the Delta Lines was arguably one of the greatest model railroads in its day, in 1956 this great layout was disassembled and put in storage as Ellison prepared to sell his house and move to Baton Rouge to be near his son. In 1959 the layout was sold to a new owner in Boston, Massachusetts, however, it was heavily damaged and largely destroyed when the truck that was transporting it was involved in a major accident during a heavy rainstorm. While the layout is no more, today many original pieces of the layout remain in the hands of private collectors.
A Royal Air Force station, RAF Waterbeach, was built on the northern edge of the village in 1940, for the RAF Bomber Command. After the Second World War, the station was operated by RAF Transport Command and then by RAF Fighter Command until 1966, when the site transferred to the Royal Engineers and became Waterbeach Barracks. The small Museum has closed, but its collection has been saved and put in storage. The barracks closed on 28 March 2013, after a move by all the remaining Army units to RAF Kinloss in Scotland and to RAF Wittering in 2012–2013.
It was on display, for the first time in a museum environment, until 23 October 2016 and then was returned to its original place at the "İMÇ" building. ;Masks Acar made 140 masks for the Kafkas Tebeşir Dairesi. Some of Acar's works at public places caused controversy, and were removed and put in storage. His 1966-created large-scale metal sculpture titled "Türkiye", which stood in front of the Emek Business Center in Kızılay, Ankara and depicted the lost lands in Anatolia due to becoming arid, was removed later, put in a storage and sold later for scrapping.
Documentation about the work is scarce. The earliest mentioning of the Penitent Magdalene dates from 1500 and mentions that the statue is being placed back in the Baptistery in Florence against the southwest wall. Since then, the statue has been moved a few times: in 1688 it was replaced by the baptismal font and put in storage, in 1735 it was moved back to the Baptistery against the southeast wall and in 1912 it was put back against the southwest wall. Today, being moved after restoration, it can be seen in the Sala della Maddalena in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence.
Carver, Sutton Hoo, p. 18. The finds, having been packed and removed to London, were brought back for a treasure trove inquest held that autumn at Sutton village hall, where it was decided that since the treasure was buried without the intention to recover it, it was the property of Mrs Pretty as landowner. Pretty decided to bequeath the treasure as a gift to the nation, so that the meaning and excitement of her discovery could be shared by everyone. When World War II broke out in September 1939, the grave-goods were put in storage.
The Scenic Railway was regarded as being the focus of the rejuvenation of Dreamland as a heritage amusement park. Work began in September 2014, with a complete refurbishment of the track and new trains being built. Some historic rides from other parks were donated to the Dreamland Trust and put in storage for restoration at a later date. The majority of unique old rides at Pleasureland Southport were donated, which included the 1940s Caterpillar ride, King Solomon's Mines wooden roller- coaster (formerly of Frontierland, Morecambe and later moved to Pleasureland Southport), workings from the Ghost Train and River Caves, the Hall of Mirrors, Mistral, Haunted Swing and the Skyride (Chairlift ride).
The Boeing 707-355C was operated from 1986 up until 1989, when it was transferred to HCL Aviation. From 1992 onwards, after having been modified for military service by Raytheon, the aircraft was used by the United States Air Force as an airborne command post for the United States Central Command and later on was reported as being used by the Air Force Special Operations Command, before being put in storage at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group located on Davis–Monthan Air Force Base in 2002.Jetphotos.net - Aircraft census database , data retrieved August 26, 2010.1967 USAF Serial Numbers, revision July 16, 2010.
The development of the ARC began in 1975 as an effort to develop a shock tube for experimental research in magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) power generation. At the same time, the engineering accreditation board recommended that the Aerospace Engineering Department (which has since merged back into the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) should have a high speed wind tunnel capability. An arc heater was shipped to UTA but was put in storage because of a lack of funds to acquire the support equipment necessary for its operation. In 1976, two professors visited both the AEDC and NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, to view their transonic Ludwieg tube facilities.
The former Free Port Station and a modern Nordlyset, a modern residential building designed by C. F. Møller Architects Amerika Plads (lit. "America Square") is a public square and surrounding neighbourhood in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the result of a redevelopment of an area in the southern part of the former Freeport of Copenhagen into a mixed- use neighbourhood which consists of dwellings, offices and retail establishments, combining converted historic buildings and modern architecture. The former Free Port Station building was put in storage during the redevelopment and is now located in the middle of the square where it serves as a café.
The murals were separated from the House chamber walls in 1993 and put in storage. The dispute between the state legislature and the artist, becoming a lawsuit for breach of contract against the state, gained note in art and legal journals, and law reference books; the Columbia Law School's Journal of Law & the Arts called it "striking example of suppression of artistic freedom". The Seattle Art Museum said the question of Spafford's artistic freedom became "a state-wide debate". The murals were eventually acquired by Centralia College in 2002 following a decade of negotiations with the artist, and installed in the college's Corbet Theatre.
In 1965 workers installing an electrical power line discovered human remains from 26 individuals at a cemetery site on the former reserve. The remains were taken by the University of Alberta's anthropology department for study until 1970 when they were put in storage because the then-owner of the land containing the burial site did not want them reinterred. In 2007 electrical workers discovered more remains on the same site which prompted the provincial government and 14 nearby bands to begin to search for a new burial site for the remains. In the summer of 2013 land was purchased by the provincial government near the town of Ponoka close to the Battle River.
The couplet is a reference to the plan that the clock be permanently on Daylight Saving Time leading to the time being correct for France during the winter months and correct for the UK during the summer. However this policy was either changed, or never implemented, since recently it is on GMT in winter and BST in summer like all other clocks in Great Britain. А replica of Little Ben called Lorloz (painted silver) was erected in 1903 in the centre of Victoria, capital of Seychelles to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. Little Ben was removed in 2012 and put in storage during upgrade works to London Victoria station.
While SkyRider was relocated in 2014, King Cobra was put in storage at sister park Kings Island before the start of the 2002 season and eventually scrapped in 2008. Freestyle is the second oldest stand-up roller coaster in operation., RCDB Shockwave at Kings Dominion had a similar track layout until the second camelback hill, where instead of a trick track and a turn to the right, the ride immediately turned to the left and went over one bunny hill before entering the brake run. As the last TOGO stand up and the oldest Stand Up in North America, Shockwave closed on the 9th of August, making room for Delirium, a HUSS Giant Frisbee.
205, 1913) and his final large organ built for the National Cathedral all fell subject to this trend by the mid-1950s, further complicating his emotional state as he saw his life's work and ideals (and by extension, himself) gradually becoming extinct. Fortunately, in recent decades there has been a large resurgence of interest in restoring E. M. Skinner's instruments to their original condition. In many cases in which Skinner's pipework was replaced with more generic or baroque sounds, the Skinner pipework was put in storage, thus making it easier for the eventual rebuilding of his instruments to be restored back to their original tonal designs and sound. This has preserved E. M. Skinner's instruments for future generations of organists and listeners to experience his glorious instruments.
These aircraft are operated under either Experimental-Exhibition or Restricted category and cannot be used for commercial operations, except under very limited conditions. In the early 1980s Chalk's International Airlines owned by Merv Griffin's Resorts International had 13 Albatrosses converted to Standard category as G-111s. This made them eligible to be used in scheduled airline operations. These aircraft had extensive modification from the standard military configuration, including rebuilt wings with titanium wing spar caps, additional doors and modifications to existing doors and hatches, stainless steel engine oil tanks, dual engine fire extinguishing systems on each engine and propeller auto feather systems installed. The G-111s were operated for only a few years and then put in storage in Arizona.
On a visit to Aswan he purchased some papyri dug up on the island of Elephantine by local people. He did not realise the importance of his find and when he died in a hotel in Paris his belongings, including the papyri (among these the Brooklyn Papyrus, the Wilbour Papyrus and the Elephantine Papyri), were put in storage by the hotel and not returned to his family for nearly half a century. At the request of his widow, they were donated to the Brooklyn Museum. Wilbour published "Rachel in the New World", from the French of Léon Beauvallet, with John W. Palmer (New York, 1856); and translated Victor Hugo's Les Miserables (1862–1863); he also published The Life of Jesus, from the French of Ernest Renan (1863).
In May 1923, three years after Sewall's death in July 1920, the Art Association honored her contributions to Indianapolis culture with the dedicated of the two torches, which were erected outside what was then the John Herron Art Institute. The art school later became the Herron School of Art and Design, and is located on the Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus. The Art Association changed its name to the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 1969, and moved to its current location on Michigan Road in 1970, at which point the torches were put in storage. In 2010 the lampposts were returned to their original location outside the building that houses Herron High School, a public charter school focused on a classical liberal arts education and continues the site's artistic heritage.
The Berlin illustrated women's magazine Die Dame first published the novel as a serial entitled Die Blaue Stunde (The Blue Hour) in 1941 while the book version, with the definitive title Mars im Widder, was produced by the S. Fischer Verlag. However the Nazi Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda frowned upon the story (which lacks all celebration of “Germanic heroism” in spite of its extensive illustrations of the total Polish defeat, and hints at anti-Nazi resistance) and refused the publishing permit. The 15,000 copies of the book were put in storage in Leipzig, where they were destroyed during the Allied air raids of 1943 and 1944. The novel was later reprinted from proofs which the author had preserved throughout the war, with the first distributed German edition dating from 1947.
One RS-12 is preserved in operational condition in the "Skunk Train" livery of California Western 56 (Locomotive) at Travel Town Museum in Griffith Park; another is owned by and occasionally used on the Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad, with others owned by the same railroad held in non-operational condition. Escanaba and Lake Superior 207 was leased to the Nicolet Badger Northern Railroad for a short time in the 1990s and was later returned to the Escanaba and Lake Superior where it now remains in storage in Wells, Michigan. Escanaba and Lake Superior 209 was used for ballast and general freight until the late 1980s when it was put in storage. Escanaba and Lake Superior 212 started to be rebuilt in the 1980s but the rebuilt was never completed.
The T-62 and T-55 are now mostly used by Russian reserve units for a possible secondary mobilization while some are kept in storage. The active duty and primary mobilization units mainly use the T-80, T-72, and T-64, with a smaller number of T-90 tanks in service in active units. The latest combat action of the T-62 was during the 2008 Russo-Georgian War where the T-62 fought with Russian ground forces; they were retired from active combat service afterwards to be put in storage to be reactivated in case of war. During the Vostok 2018 military exercise, multiple T-62M and T-62MVs were reactivated from storage and mobilised, in an effort to assess how quickly Russian forces could be readied for a major conflict.
It was the last time she flew. Two other notable aircraft put in storage at Pyote were the B-17D "Swoose" (arrived 18 January 1952 - Departed December 1953), which was the only B-17 to survive the bombing of Clark Air Base on 8 December 1941 and manage to escape from the Philippines, and the XB-42 Mixmaster, a one-of-a-kind aircraft.USAFHRA Document 00489773USAFHRA Document 00489778 Pyote AFB B-29 Superfortress refurbishment 1950: Note B-29s on the ramp awaiting restoration or flyout. Beginning in 1950, the demands for B-29s to be used in the Korean War meant that nearly 100 of the aircraft stored at Pyote were refurbished and sent to active-duty units on Okinawa for use in combat, while some stored B-29s were authorized to be used for cannibalization to furnish spare parts to operational aircraft.
The T-10 was an American-made version of the Tallboy modified to use standard American components. Development was started in late 1944 and plans were made to drop them on the island strongholds of the Pacific to aid in softening their defences before amphibious assaults. No bombs were used operationally since the capitulation of Japan following the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki negated their need. In the late 1950s the T-10 was re-designated the M-121. During the Korean War a number of T-10s were converted to the radio- guided Tarzon bomb and were dropped by Boeing B-29 Superfortresses to destroy railroad bridges and reservoir dams. After the Korean War ended and the B-29 and B-36 bombers were retired, the United States Air Force no longer had an aircraft that could drop the M-121, and the bombs were put in storage.
This was approved, the bronze figures were cast, and the entire collection was put in storage at the Marchs' foundry as argument continued in Ottawa over the monument's location. Disapproval or blatant rejection of the Connaught Place site was expressed by the Federal District Commission (predecessor of the National Capital Commission), Mayor J. E. Stanley Lewis, social commentators, journalists, and members of the public. Some groups demanded the war memorial be central on Parliament Hill, others said a spot overlooking the Ottawa River, west of parliament was more appropriate. Even the French architect Jacques Gréber, whom Mackenzie King (once again prime minister) had spoken to about the beautification of downtown Ottawa and was thought to be a supporter of the idea to put the war memorial in Connaught Place, penned a report on the redevelopment of Ottawa in which he recommended the monument to the war dead be put in Major's Hill Park.
A 1952 model was purchased by Thomas from a Hudson dealer sometime in late July or August 1952, and he campaigned it during next season and a half, ultimately capturing fifteen wins, as well as the 1953 championship with it. When Thomas purchased a replacement car to race in the 1954 season, his 1952 model was sold as a used car and subsequently driven in the southern U.S. ending up in eastern Kentucky by the mid-1970s. After being put in storage, changing owners, and verifying the serial numbers that it was the original number 92 raced by Thomas, the car was restored and shown at the 1998 EyesOn Design show. This car was nominated for the National Historic Vehicle Register, which is limited to cars with "important American historic events, association with important American historic figures, its design or construction value, and its informational value" and shown at 2014 "Cars At The Capital" - the first ever automotive heritage celebration held on the National Mall.
Mallowan found thousands of ivories, many of which were discovered at the bottom of wells into which they had apparently been thrown when the city was sacked, either in the turmoil that followed the death of Sargon II in 705 BC or when Nineveh fell and was destroyed in 612 BC. Mallowan's wife was the famous British crime novelist, Agatha Christie (1890–1976), who was fascinated with archaeology, and who accompanied her husband on the Nimrud excavations. Christie helped photograph and preserve many of the ivories found during the excavations, explaining in her autobiography that she cleaned the ivories using a fine knitting needle, an orange stick and a pot of face cream. The collection of ivories uncovered by Mallowan were divided between Iraq and Britain, where they remained at the British School of Archaeology in Iraq (later to become the British Institute for the Study of Iraq) until 1987. They were then put in storage at the British Museum until 2011, but were not put on display.
In late 1967, No. 207 (No. 630) and No. 208 (No. 722) were both traded back to the Southern Railway for use in their steam excursion program in return for a pair of former Central of Georgia ALCO RS-3s.. Receiving their old numbers again, No. 630 had been given minor repairs and began excursion service in February 1968, while No. 722 had its firebox repaired and returned to operating service in August 1970.... No. 630 and No. 722 pulled many excursion trains for Southern's steam program until they were both loaned to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in 1978 and 1980, respectively to make way for larger steam locomotives such as Canadian Pacific No. 2839, Texas and Pacific No. 610 and Chesapeake and Ohio No. 2716 to pull the longer and heavier excursions on Southern's system.. In November 1985, No. 722 was taken out of service for its boiler ticket certificate and was moved by Southern's successor Norfolk Southern (NS) to be on display in Asheville, North Carolina in 1992. In November 1989, No. 630 was taken out of service and put in storage when TVRM was restoring another 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive ex-U.
