When the Brigadier advises Charley to switch off the power, this allows creatures from the Divergence to break through. The Great Mother reveals that Rassilon stole the secret of regeneration from the Vampires, and that much of Time Lord technology was stolen from the Divergent universe. The Foundry's defences seal off the whole base and prepare to fire storm it to prevent the escape of the Divergent creatures.

Eventually, the Toa gain the upper hand, but not before Antroz and his Makuta team come flying down, and prepare to fire at the Nuva. All hope seems lost, when suddenly, an ice blast blocks the blast of energy Antroz fires, backfiring on him.

Bulic stays in the chemical store to ensure that the gas keeps flowing, while the Doctor and his companions leave for the bridge to try to stop the Silurians. The warriors begin to collapse from the gas and the Doctor tells Tegan and Turlough to give the Silurians oxygen to keep them alive. The Doctor, who is aided by Vorshak, tries to stop the missiles by linking himself into the equipment as the sync operator.

As DT19 lands a short distance away, Scarlet, watching from the control tower with Blue, experiences a sudden nausea, warning him that the Director General is in danger. At that moment, DT19 breaks away from the terminal and rushes towards the Director General's jet. Ordering the jet to take off immediately, Scarlet and Blue set off in their Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle to intercept DT19. The airliner is unhindered by the Angels' aerial bombardment, so Scarlet and Blue prepare to fire on its undercarriage with the SPV's rocket launcher.

The base was established on Dong Ha Mountain northeast of The Rockpile north of Highway 9 during Operation Lancaster II. Elements of the 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines provided artillery support at Fuller. In late September 1969 as part of Operation Keystone Cardinal the 3rd Marine Regiment began its withdrawal from South Vietnam handing over control of Fuller to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines.

Battery A, 1/12 Marines prepare to fire their 105 mm gun in 1969 On 20 January People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) artillery and rockets firing from across the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) hit Camp Carroll causing little damage. At 13:30 on 24 January elements of the PAVN 320th Division ambushed a Marine "Rough Rider" convoy on Route 9, from Camp Carroll (). The 4th Marines at Camp Carroll sent a reaction force of Company H 2/9 Marines, 2 M48s and an M67 Flame Thrower Tank from Company B, 3rd Tank Battalion and 2 M42 Dusters from Company C, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment to assist the convoy. The PAVN were ready for the reaction force and immobilized the lead M48 with recoilless rifle fire killing the company commander.

At an abandoned warehouse where Anil has kept the Observer, Peter is unable to convince the Observer to talk but instead monitors subtle body actions of the Observer, using those to judge when he is assembling the device correctly. Meanwhile, Walter has found an old video tape of one of Etta's first birthdays, and offers it to Olivia, hoping to coax her out of her depression, but she refuses to watch it. Astrid successfully decodes the book and identifies a delivery being made that afternoon; Peter too is successful at assembling the device, having finished after seeing the Observer's pupil dilate in making a final connection. Peter, Olivia, and Anil go and start the device, and prepare to fire one of Etta's anti-matter canisters into it, expecting it to disrupt the wormhole and cause the other end to collapse in a singularity.

The rod-type rifle grenade is a standard hand grenade with a metallic rod attached to the base. They were developed prior to World War I. To use: # Insert the rod-type rifle grenade down the barrel of a standard rifle # Insert a special blank cartridge into the rifle's chamber # Place the rifle's butt-stock on the ground # While holding the grenade's safety spoon with one hand, remove the safety pin with the other # Place free hand on the rifle's grip and prepare to fire # Release the grenade's safety spoon, quickly place said hand on the rifle's fore stock and immediately fire the rifle If the soldier does not immediately launch the grenade, it will time out and explode. It was later found that the repeated launching of rod grenades caused damage to a rifle's barrel and the rod-type rifle grenade fell from favor.
