The EeeBox PC motherboard features a form of embedded Linux, referred to in the user manual as Express Gate, a result of the ASUS SplashTop software. Commodore 1351 mouse The Commodore 1351 is similar in appearance to the mouse supplied with Commodore Amiga computers of the time, but the two are not mutually compatible. When reaching the third round, stranded astronauts and satellites are introduced and the former must be picked up with the edge of the paddle's reticle to rescue them. Gathering enough astronauts with the reticle and delivering them to the satellites will give the player a power-up item that is picked up by either with the paddle itself or by shooting at it, granting the ability to launch the paddle as a slingshot. However, if the player keeps gathering enough astronauts but does not deliver them to the satellites will increase the paddle's firepower and when powered up, it will grant the ability to shoot lasers. Powering up is also the only way to restore the paddle back to normal but if the player touches the astronauts with the paddle, however, they will be pushed off-screen.

Soon after its commissioning in 1970 the Morgenthau sailed to Vietnam for service in the US Navy's Operation Market Time. Morgenthau was extremely active in the Vietnam War: the Cutter's duties included boarding and inspection of North Vietnamese and Viet Cong ships and boats suspected of running guns, ammunition and supplies, naval gunfire support missions to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines, the Cutter's crew providing medical care to Vietnamese villagers (MEDCAPS - civic action program), ferrying (Navy SEALs) on missions, and general 24/7 patrol duties. When on Operation Market Time patrol in Vietnam waters close to shore, on powering up to full speed the Morgenthau struck an uncharted pinnacle. The Cutter suffered significant damage, mainly to its large-bladed propellers that struck the pinnacle with such force that two several-ton propeller blades ripped off their mounts, flew 30 feet into the air, and then crashed into the water.

The ARG's theme of potatoes reflected a part of Portal 2's story, in which the game's antagonist (GLaDOS) is powered by a potato battery. The Potato Sack is the name of an alternate reality game (ARG) created by Valve and the developers of thirteen independent video games to promote the release of Valve's game Portal 2, in April 2011. Valve president Gabe Newell envisioned the game as a "Cross Game Design Event" in December 2010, and allowed the developers a free rein to design the game using Valve's Portal intellectual property. The common EPS specification relies heavily on existing USB electro-mechanical standards – especially the USB Battery Charging Specification. 400 W metal-halide lamp shortly after powering up A "cold" (below operating temperature) metal-halide lamp cannot immediately begin producing its full light capacity because the temperature and pressure in the inner arc chamber require time to reach full operating levels. Starting the initial argon arc (or xenon in automotive) sometimes takes a few seconds, and the warm up period can be as long as five minutes (depending upon lamp type). During this time the lamp exhibits different colors as the various metal halides vaporize in the arc chamber. If power is interrupted, even briefly, the lamp's arc will extinguish, and the high pressure that exists in the hot arc tube will prevent restriking the arc; with a normal ignitor a cool-down period of 5–10 minutes will be required before the lamp can be restarted, but with special ignitors and specially designed lamps, the arc can be immediately re-established.

Due to the absence of the Constitution, the Ministry of Defence ran under the government act of 1935 with British monarchy overseeing the armed forces development, leading the Pakistan Navy to fall under the Royal patronage until the Constitution was promulgated that established the Navy as a federal institution in 1956. The Navy endured a difficult history— with only 200 officers and 3,000 sailors were inherited to the Navy– the most senior being Captain HMS Choudri who had little experience in the military staffing. Of the ~200 officers, twenty of these had come from the Executive Branch of the Royal Indian Navy, and only six officers were the mechanical engineers while there were none electrical engineers or specialists to care for the electrical systems needed to be look after in the weapons systems or the powering up the machinery in the vessels as whole. The Navy suffered perennial problems with inadequate staff, lack of operational bases, lack of financial support, and poor technological and personnel resources.

Power-levelers sometimes circumvent this provision by what could be called "passive power- leveling", where a high level character who has access to healing abilities does not formally join the lower-level character's party, instead a) healing and/or "powering up" the lower-level character, b) targeting the enemy with spells or effects that do not involve joining the battle, and/or c) fighting alongside the lower-level character until the enemy is nearly defeated and then pausing the battle (e.g., through use of "calm" or a similar command) and allowing the lower-level character to resume, finish, and claim all the experience points for itself. Finally, power-leveling may be rendered more difficult by having very large jumps between experience points required for each subsequent level of experience. It is common practice to have experience needed increasing in a non-linear way relative to experience levels to push players to the next town or land, but it can also reduce the opportunities for power-leveling as a player would be forced to find a different power-leveling technique for every couple of experience levels and move and do that technique.
