The Maguga Dam is a dam on the Komati River in Eswatini. It is high and is located about south of Piggs Peak. It was built as a joint project of the governments of South Africa and Eswatini. As of 2005, it was the largest public works project ever undertaken by Eswatini.

During the second half of the 20th century, Eswatini tourism industry benefited from the lack of war and relative peace within the country. In order to entertain tourists, however, children are sometimes employed and made to wear traditional attire. Along the scenic highway in Piggs Peak, for example, costumed children dance for tourists for a fee.

Mining in the early 19th century was the dominant industry with mines located in Ngwenya mine, Bulembu, Piggs Peak and other areas. Ngwenya mine is notable for its status as the oldest known iron-ore mine in the world. Some mining activity still continues in this mine under the Indian mining company Salgaocar. The other mines in the region are no longer operational.

The tailings of the Ngwenya iron ore mine (the mine itself closed in 1977) are planned to be reworked to extract 2 million metric tons of iron ore concentrate annually. Gold extractions from the northwestern region of the country have been planned, with the Piggs Peak mine getting revived. More sites have been prospected for extraction to sustain an economic development of the mining sector.

Allgame gave the game a score of 3 stars out of a possible 5, with the reviewer offering some praise for the game's graphics.

Bulembu is a small town located in northwestern Hhohho, Eswatini, 10 km west of the town of Piggs Peak and close to the border with South Africa. Located above the Komati Valley in Swaziland's Highveld, Bulembu is named after the siSwati word for a spider's web. The town of Bulembu is privately owned by a not-for-profit, Bulembu Ministries Eswatini. The Bulembu Foundation is based in Vancouver, Canada.

Later, the storm dropped heavy rainfall in Swaziland, reaching at Piggs Peak; there, rainfall reached in a one-day period. Described as the worst flooding in over 20 years, the precipitation increased levels along most rivers in the country, some of which rose in a few hours. The floods washed out or damaged over 100 bridges, and two railways had cuts in their lines. The floods closed at least 20 major roads and the country's primary airport.

Robert Archibald Shaw was born on 9 August 1927 at 51 King Street in Westhoughton, Lancashire, the son of former nurse Doreen Nora (née Avery), who was born in Piggs Peak, Swaziland, and Thomas Archibald Shaw, a doctor of Scottish descent. He had three sisters named Elisabeth, Joanna, and Wendy, and one brother named Alexander. When he was seven years old, the family moved to Scotland, settling in Stromness, Orkney. When Shaw was 12, his father killed himself.

Phophonyane Falls Lodge reception The Phophonyane Falls Nature Reserve is a scenic, 600 ha large nature reserve and tourist destination near Piggs Peak, Eswatini. A network of footpaths through the Gobolondlo forest reaches meandering watercourses which lead to the main attraction of the reserve - the 80 m high Phophonyane Falls. This waterfall has formed on a steep section of exposed gneiss. Phophonyane River in this area falls per some 240 m over the distance of 2 km.

In the northwest of Eswatini, gold was discovered, drawing a large number of miners and settlers in the area. Gold deposits were first recorded around Piggs Peak during modern times in 1872 and in 1884 a gold-bearing reef was discovered in the hills to the west by the prospector, William Pigg, after whom the town is named. Other mining adventures took place in the neighbouring town of Bulembu, where later on, asbestos was mined. The town of Ngwenya on the western border of Eswatini with South Africa, is home to the oldest known iron-ore mine in the world.

The London shipowner and merchant Philip Ford signed an agreement with King James II of England in September 1688 by which he could search for wrecks along the south coast of England and around the Isles of Scilly, paying 1/5 of the value to the King. He would pay another 1/5 to Sidney, Lord Godolphin, for treasure from ships owned by Godolphin found near the Isles of Scilly. Ford found four piggs near the Lizard holding of silver and paid the King's fifth. The Bishop of Exeter claimed half the profits in his role as Vice-Admiral of South Cornwall, but his claim was rejected.

In October 2019, it was announced that Billie Idle would dissolve after the last performance of their one-man tour titled "BILLIE IDLE TOUR LAST ORGY" on December 28 of the same year. On January 6, 2020, it was revealed that Pour Lui had founded her own company, PourPourLand, and would be forming a new group under the temporary name "Idol Laboratories", which she would produce and be a member of. It was also announced that Pour Lui would release her second solo album, The World Is Pour Lui's II, on March 11. The final line-up of the group temporarily named "Idol Laboratories" was revealed in April alongside the name Piggs.
