The Eye was recorded at Southern Studios in January 1984. It was produced by Crass member Penny Rimbaud and engineered by Tony Cook. The cover art was designed by Dada Nana. It was named after Björk's favorite book, Story of the Eye by Georges Bataille (1928), an intense story about a young French couple involved in sexual perversions and violent behaviors.

Masud Khan was both highly controversial as well as a significant contributor to psychoanalytic thinking, functioning as editor of psychoanalytical publications as well as contributing via his own writings. His contributions include the concept of cumulative trauma as creating psychopathology introducing the concept of lack of fit between child and parent creating an ongoing trauma affecting development. He produced a number of papers highlighting perversions as stemming from a split within the personality and the acting out of disturbed object relations collected in his book Alienation in Perversions. He wrote a sequence of three papers on the use of dreams in psychoanalysis as well as a series of clinical papers showing his unique intuitive style combined with his application of Winnicott's then new concepts of potential space and transitional object in the analysis of adult patients.
She is especially well-endowed, which makes her a natural target for Kazuharu Fukuyama's perversions. However, due to her physical aptitude and martial-arts abilities, she always defeats him. She regularly beats up Yukinari Sasaki for his bad luck. Kirie inadvertently sends Yukinari to Seiren for the first time when she slugs him for innocently walking in on her when she was showering in his bathroom.
His discussion of "Sex Perversions" is limited to masturbation. It dispels myths and asserts that "It is actually questionable how much actual harm masturbation itself causes....[T]he habit and its attendant train of evils usually disappear after simple explanations." Homosexuality is not mentioned. He advises rigorous adherence to factual information in sex education and emphasizes the importance of education tailored to the individual.
Perversions of Science is an American science fiction/horror anthology television series that ran on the cable channel HBO for one season from June 7 to July 23, 1997. It is a spin-off of the horror series Tales from the Crypt also shown on HBO, and its episodes are based on EC Comics's Weird Science, Weird Fantasy, and Incredible Science Fiction comic book series.
After the original series ended, a spin-off called Perversions of Science premiered in June 1997 on HBO, this time being based more on science fiction instead of horror. The series was unsuccessful and lasted for a short run, ending only a month after it had begun airing. This iteration of the franchise featured a stylized female robot host in place of The Cryptkeeper.

Herb, David H. Kaplan, edit., Nations and Nationalism: A Global Historical Overview, Santa Barbara, CA, ABC-CLIO, 2008, chap: “Perversions of Nationalism,” Aristotle A. This movement for national identity threatened monarchical empires that were populated by wide variety of ethnic, religious, linguistic and cultural groups.
Though she is normally stoic, Garnet's strongest emotional displays are often centered around fusion: anger and revulsion at what she perceives as abuses or perversions of fusion, and delight when Steven develops the ability to fuse. The second-season episode "The Answer", a flashback showing how Ruby and Sapphire met and formed Garnet for the first time, was nominated for an Emmy Award and adapted into a children's book.
He said this would be a threshold dose based on the dosages of other ergot alkaloids. Hofmann found the effects to be much stronger than he anticipated. Sandoz Laboratories introduced LSD as a psychiatric drug in 1947 and marketed LSD as a psychiatric panacea, hailing it "as a cure for everything from schizophrenia to criminal behavior, 'sexual perversions,' and alcoholism." The abbreviation "LSD" is from the German "Lysergsäurediethylamid".
Pedology was a popular area of research on the basis of numerous orphanages created after the Russian Civil War. Soviet pedology was a combination of pedagogy and psychology of human development, that heavily relied on various tests. It was officially banned in 1936 after a special decree of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union "On Pedolodical Perversions in the Narkompros System" on July 4, 1936.
Lev Vygotsky was one of its prominent supporters. While many works of pedologists were of considerable value, the approach was severely criticized for over-enthusiastic but poorly grounded approach of testing for predicting a child's mental development, in addition to estimating its status. It was officially banned in 1936 after a special decree of VKP(b) Central Committee "On Pedological Perversions in the System of Narkomproses" on July 4, 1936.
Religious leaders must address dangerous and violent perversions of religion within their own communities. : (11) Knowledge and confidence in a tradition further interreligious understanding: Open and trustful interreligious dialogue is furthered by a secure knowledge of one’s own religious tradition as well as that of others. This knowledge should be taught in a spirit of peace and respect for the different traditions. Many religions make truth claims that are mutually exclusive.
Dick is a rough character, a killer as evil as his name implies, like the other henchmen, and this is his rough solution to his perceived societal problem. The line has been interpreted in different ways: criticism of how lawyers maintain the privilege of the wealthy and powerful; implicit praise of how lawyers stand in the way of violent mobs; and criticism of bureaucracy and perversions of the rule of law.

Most analysts have tended to ignore this subtext but it is there. With this and lines with double meaning like "You had a cottage?" as well as oblique but explicit references to baleful mothers, "quaint little perversions", women "especially in Siam or Bali", "Lord Lancer", a man called Bunty and male virginity, it seems likely that Pinter is playing a joke of some kind on more naive critics and admirers.

Leonora Fani (born 18 February 1954) is an Italian former film actress. Born in Crocetta del Montello, Treviso, Italy as Eleonora Cristofani, Leonora Fani was launched in 1971 by winning the "Miss Teenager" pageant. Then she had a successful career in Italian B-movies, especially in the "violent-erotic" subgenre. She played, as typical roles, young girls with traumas or perversions of various kinds, or teenagers involved in stories where eroticism is tinged with blood.
Scruton sees its "major structural feature" as the "failure to recognise, in and through desire, the personal existence of the other", which in turn is "an affront, both to him and oneself." He argues that this justifies its moral condemnation. Building on these ideas, Scruton evaluates bestiality, necrophilia, paedophilia, sado-masochism, homosexuality, incest, fetishism and masturbation, to determine whether they can be considered perverted. He concludes that bestiality, necrophilia and paedophilia are perversions.
Restrictive behavior when judged negatively is called "sexual oppression"; if judged positively they are called "chastity", "sexual restraint", The Marital Effect, or "sexual decency". In the West, sexual normality can be defined as any sexual practice which does not involve sexual perversions. There has been a liberalization in attitudes which has resulted in the legalization of homosexuality in many countries. There is a tendency in Western countries toward serial monogamy as a normal heterosexual lifestyle.
Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality, sometimes titled Three Contributions to the Theory of Sex, written in 1905 by Sigmund Freud explores and analyzes his theory of sexuality and its presence throughout childhood. Freud's book describes three main topics in reference to sexuality: sexual perversions, childhood sexuality, and puberty. His first essay in this series is called "The Sexual Aberrations." This essay focuses on the distinction between a sexual object and a sexual aim.
Writer J. B. Priestley comments: "Even if Powys had never written any novels – and at least one of them, A Glastonbury Romance is a masterpiece – this one book alone would have proved him to be a writer of genius.""Introduction". Autobiography . London: Macdonald, 1967, p. xi. While he sets out to be frank about himself, and especially his sexual peculiarities and perversions, he largely excludes any substantial discussion of the women in his life.
Miike achieved notoriety for depicting shocking scenes of extreme violence and sexual perversions. Many of his films contain graphic and lurid bloodshed, often portrayed in an over-the-top, cartoonish manner. Much of his work depicts the activities of criminals (especially yakuza) or concern themselves with gaijin, non-Japanese or foreigners living in Japan. He is known for his dark sense of humor and for pushing the boundaries of censorship as far as they will go.
Bahns attended acting classes at the Beverly Hills Playhouse taught by Milton Katselas and also studied with Ivana Chubbuck. Her big break came when Edward Burns asked her to star in his low-budget film The Brothers McMullen. In 1996, she co-starred in She's the One opposite Burns, marking the couple's final collaboration before their split. In 1997, she made her television debut on the HBO science-fiction/horror series Perversions of Science, guest-starring episode "People's Choice".
Other significant contributions Boss made to the literature in existential psychotherapy include The Meaning and Content of Sexual Perversions (English Translation, 1949), The Analysis of Dreams (English Translation, 1958), and A Psychiatrist Discovers India (English translation, 1965). Boss saw dreams as coming from a person’s life as a whole, not from a separate “dream state”. He also did not see the “unconscious” as a place where the denied impulses were kept, which was the way Freud presented it.
The Undergrowth of Literature is a pioneering study of pornography written by the British author Gillian Freeman in 1967.Victor E. Neuburg, The Popular Press companion to popular literature, Popular Press, 1983, , p.97 The foreword is by David Stafford-Clark. A review by Stephen Vizinczey described it as 'nothing more than a collection of quotes, précis, paraphrases and photographs from current pornographic publications and glossy magazines ... there is no love like the liberal prig's love for perverts and perversions'.
During the years spanning 2006-2009, Mark Nicholas released two albums (Duchess 33 - 2007, Perversions - 2008) under his given name, dropping the Cosmicity project name so he could concentrate on more industrial sounds - and darker lyrics. 2010 saw the release of the 5-song EP ASCII Cupcake and a return to Mark Nicholas using his Cosmicity project name. 2012 brought the release of the Parlour Sofas EP. The full-length album, Humans May Safely Graze, was released worldwide in 2014.
In short, his work displays a "violent prejudiced patriarchal society" confronted to "all manner of sexual repression, perversions and taboos".Albuquerque, 280 It was this petit- bourgeois, almost lumpen viewpoint, that explained Rodrigues' antipathy towards the higher middle-class intelligentsia that made much of the political Left of the period ("I'm not moved by marches of the ruling classes", was he to say before a march of protesters against the military dictatorshipA cabra vadia, São Paulo: Cia. das Letras, 1995, 175).
In late 2007 they signed to Supernova Records, where they recorded Perversions of Guilt, recorded, mixed, and mastered by label owner and Today Is the Day frontman Steve Austin. From March to July 2008 they toured the United States, Canada, and Europe with Today is the Day and others playing over 100 shows. In April 2009 Complete Failure self-recorded and self-released their sophomore full length entitled Heal No Evil. In May 2009 they toured with Relapse Records artists Antigama.
One of Powys's most important works, his Autobiography (1934), which describes his first 60 years. While he sets out to be totally frank about himself, and especially his sexual peculiarities and perversions, he largely excludes any substantial discussion of the women in his life.Krissdottir pp. 287-294. The reason for this is now much clearer because we now know that it was written while he was still married to Margaret, though he was living in a permanent relationship with Phyllis Playter.
The phrase "I am the your God" appears a number of times in the Hebrew Bible outside of the Decalogue. Thus, Leviticus 18 gives a number of commands prohibiting sexual perversions and the sacrifice of children. It demands that God's people behave differently from the nations around them, lest they be destroyed in the same manner. In a similar manner, Leviticus 19 gives additional commands regarding separation from mediums and spiritists, the honoring of the aged, and kindness to foreigners.
Birimisa: Portraits, Plays, Perversions. San Francisco, Sweetheart Press: 2009, 101–135. The Village Voice wrote: "Birimisa's dialogue is graceful and pointed, his characterization swift and penetrating, and astonishingly, his most agonizing scenes are often his most hilarious, as if he's able to reach greater heights of pain and laughter by having the two lean on each other... Birimisa's considerable talent [is] as fluid as it is raw, as passionate as it is brutal."R. Wetzsteon, "Theatre Journal," Village Voice, November 28, 1968, 46.
She has said terrorists don't spring from "perversions of Islam but from the religion itself". She has been criticized by the Anti-Defamation League, Council on American-Islamic Relations and Southern Poverty Law Center for Islamophobia. Geller has dismissed the SPLC as an "uber left" organization. Political activist Charles Jacobs says that Geller takes aim at "radical Islam", comes to the defense of victims of honor killings, and deals with Islamist anti-Semitism which the ADL and SPLC fail to address.
The original Knights Templar, founded around 1119, had been a crusading military order, that, at some time, had established financial networks across the whole of Christendom. In 1307, King Philip IV of France mounted a "slanderous campaign"Goodrick-Clarke 1985: 60 to strip the Order of its economic and political influence. The Templars were accused of Satanic practices, perversions and blasphemy and ruthlessly suppressed; Its leaders were burned on March 18, 1314. The circumstances of their suppression gave rise to legends surrounding the Knights Templar.
Female perversions. Northvale: Jason Aronson. . Corte’s sculptures are not simply “prostheses” imitating the original form of the missing body part; rather, they take on free aesthetic connotations with the addition of elements which widen the possibilities for the use of the artificial part itself. For both the Abstraction of the Void and the Devotees and Wannabes series, Corte made a set of “promo pictures” of the sculptures, placing the objects in singular poses and settings and photographing them as if they were advertisements for a product.
As new songs were completed and released, internet radio stations began noticing the music, and began lending their support with plays of the new songs and reviews. The Official Brainclaw Website was completely re-designed. The selection of the song "Downsect" for the Spiderbite Studios CD compilation called Perversions of Industry would prove to be a far-reaching event, right into the present day. Brainclaw songs began climbing electronic music charts on the internet and alternative radio stations in many parts of the world.
Until 1933 those purged (totaling 800,000) were not usually arrested. (The few that were became the first waves of the gulag forced labor system.) But from 1934 onwards, during the Great Purge, the connotations of the term changed, because being expelled from the party came to mean almost certain arrest, with long imprisonment or execution following. The Party Central Committee would later state that the careless methodology used resulted in serious errors and perversions which hindered the work of cleansing the party from its real enemies.
Gorbachev was among those who saw themselves as "genuine Marxists" or "genuine Leninists" in contrast to what they regarded as the perversions of Stalin. He helped spread Khrushchev's anti-Stalinist message in Stavropol, but encountered many who continued to regard Stalin as a hero or who praised the Stalinist purges as just. Gorbachev rose steadily through the ranks of the local administration. The authorities regarded him as politically reliable, and he would flatter his superiors, for instance gaining favor with prominent local politician Fyodor Kulakov.
In contemporary Judaism, there are mixed views on all of the aforesaid. Some Jews do not want to return to making offerings,My Jewish Learning: Understanding Biblical Sacrifice (Korbanot) some approve of things that others deem perversions (such as homosexuality),My Jewish Learning: Jewish Views on Homosexuality some see no contradiction between being a Jew and disbelieving in God, some believe lying is not intrinsically wrong,Orthodox Union: When is it permitted to tell a lie? and some do not follow the dietary laws.
Bristling at the interference, and revolted by Mr. Brass' revealed bloodlust and perversions, Red Crow eventually murders Brass, starting a war between his and Johnny Tongue's crews. After an apparent victory and assertion of dominance over Red Crow, Tongue and his crew are ambushed and murdered by Red Crow and Shunka. Sheriff Wooster T. Karnow: The sheriff of neighboring White Haven, Nebraska. Claims to have played for the Cornhuskers and been a member of a special forces group but has a propensity for gross exaggeration.
In 1898 Havelock Ellis, an English sexologist, used the term "narcissus-like" in reference to excessive masturbation, whereby the person becomes their own sex object.Millon, Theodore, Personality Disorders in Modern Life, 2004 In 1899, Paul Näcke was the first person to use the term "narcissism" in a study of sexual perversions. Otto Rank, in 1911, published the first psychoanalytical paper specifically concerned with narcissism, linking it to vanity and self- admiration. Sigmund Freud published a paper exclusively devoted to narcissism in 1914, called "On Narcissism: An Introduction".
On one occasion, he wrote a letter to the prison director asking permission for his family to bring him a new pair of pants so that he could, in his words, "dress according to his education". He saw the female sex as nothing more than a disposable conduit to sexual gratification. His crimes involved hate, showed extreme cruelty and were marked by perversions such as sexual mutilation. He violated his victims to show the superiority and power that, according to him, he held over the women.
Lady Divine is the owner and operator of a show titled The Cavalcade of Perversion, a free exhibit of various perversions and fetish acts and obscenities, such as the "Puke Eater". The show is free, but the various performers must persuade and even physically drag reluctant passers-by to attend. As a finale to every show, Lady Divine appears and robs the patrons at gunpoint. This arrangement seems successful to Mr. David, Lady Divine's lover, but Lady Divine becomes bored with the routine and decides to murder the patrons rather than merely robbing them.
While the "set of perversions" that unfold in the novella are misogynistic, the film unfolds the set as "ambivalently homoerotic and homophobic". The film removes the novella's misogyny and leaves intact the underlying homoeroticism of the central characters. The film also expounds the connection between homophobia and how male Holocaust victims are portrayed. The central characters Todd Bowden and Kurt Dussander are onscreen most of the time, and they are frequently framed in close proximity, which Picart and Frank describe as "[intensifying] a homoerotic intimacy [which is] punctuated by dread of contact with the monstrous".
17th century Hindu female Nath yogis. The earliest records mentioning female Nath yogis (or yogini) trace to 11th century. According to White, the term yogi, has "for at least eight hundred years, been an all-purpose term employed to designate those Saiva specialists whom orthodox Hindus have considered suspect, heterodox, and even heretical in their doctrine and practice". The yoga as practiced by these Yogis, states White, is more closely identified in the eyes of those critics with black magic, sorcery and sexual perversions than with yoga in the conventional sense of the word.
For example, Five-Oh, who privately mocks and detests Godolkin, is seen dying on behalf of his honor when they are massacred. The Boys #29 In addition Randall, who has an otherwise rebellious streak, unquestioningly carries out unspoken orders to kill Hughie. John Godolkin is tolerated by Vought because his team, the G-Men, and their spin-offs have proven to be the most bankable superhero team. John Godolkin's behavior is uncontrollable, and eventually Vought becomes concerned with his perversions and instability, which causes them to terminate the entire group.
Executions like this had once passed with little to no comment in the press. Historically, while fewer women than men were subjected to capital punishment, proportionately more were acquitted, found guilty of lesser charges, or pardoned if condemned. In centuries past, these women were judged by publications such as The Newgate Calendar to have succumbed to their own perversions, or to have been led astray. But while 18th and 19th-century women guilty of treasonable crimes were still seen as villains, increasingly, the cause of their descent was ascribed to villainous men.
Weird Science was a 1985 movie produced by Joel Silver, who acquired film rights to EC Comics in the early 1980s. HBO's Perversions of Science is a science fiction/horror television series based on Weird Science stories. It has been suggested on The Simpsons season 3 DVD commentary for the episode "Treehouse of Horror II" that the appearance of Kang and Kodos was based on cover art from EC Comics. No specific issue number is mentioned, but it may be a combination of different covers including possibly Weird Science #6 and #16.
Manoel has performed in numerous shows including Open Doors and Whistle Revisited (based on Stephen Sondheim's Anyone Can Whistle), as well as with Grace Jones, and Canadian singer Norman Iceberg. Viktor Manoel has also appeared in film such as Staying Alive (1983) directed by Sylvester Stallone, Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo (1984), Glass Spider (1988) directed by David Mallet, and Female Perversions (1997) directed by Susan Streitfeld. As a cyclist, Manoel has raised significant funds for many organizations taking part in different AIDS rides and marathons of various distances across North America each year.
The plot and comedy in the book is typical of Tom Sharpe's writing. The author carefully creates characters and situations such that when the inevitable set-piece is played out, absolute chaos ensues. Lockhart could be said to fit easily alongside the other bizarre central characters in the Sharpe pantheon: classics such as Henry Wilt, Konstabel Els, Skullion, Peregrine Clyde-Brown and Blott. Additionally, the novel is typical in its use of the tension between exterior social decency and underlying sexual desires and perversions to great comedic effect.
The producers of this episode deal with mystics and sects founded by Dalai Lama, Sai Baba, Krishna Morti and Ashu, etc. which are promoted by the facilities of the Zionist and Freemasonry intelligence agencies and are all corrupt, leading to moral perversions and most of them intend to stand against the idea of Intidhar of the Shiites (waiting for emerging of 12th Imam). All these false mystics (as the episode states) want to follow the same evil idea of conquering the earth that is desirable to the Zionists.
Governor Bernard complained in a letter to Lord Hillsborough that "if the Devil himself was of the party, as he virtually is, there could not have been got together a greater collection of impudent, virulent, and seditious lies, perversions of the truth, and misrepresentations, than are to be found in this publication." Dickerson writes in his introduction to the collected articles that it "doubtless" contains exaggerations, but that most of the allegations are supported by letters and other contemporary documents. In any case, the articles helped build the sentiment that eventually produced the American Revolution.
Homeovestism is a concept identified by George Zavitzianos and further developed by Louise Kaplan, to refer to the arousal of a person by wearing clothing appropriate to their gender, in comparison with the more widely recognized practices of transvestic fetishism, in which one is aroused by wearing clothing of a different gender. According to Kaplan's book Female Perversions (Doubleday, 1991), homeovestism is "an impersonation of the idealized phallic parent of the same sex" in order "to overcome shameful and frightening cross-gender identifications" (p. 546, footnote to p. 250).
Mulcahy began to focus on features, mostly action/thrillers, such as Ricochet (1991) with Denzel Washington, Blue Ice (1992) with Michael Caine, The Real McCoy (1993) with Kim Basinger, The Shadow (1994) with Alec Baldwin and Silent Trigger (1996) with Dolph Lundgren. He continued to direct the occasional video clip for artists like Elton John and began to direct TV shows like Tales from the Crypt, Perversions of Science and The Hunger. He directed the features Tale of the Mummy (1998) and Resurrection (1999), the latter with Christopher Lambert of Highlander'.
His 1996 effort Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis, a Prohibition-era Western update of Yojimbo (and thus reminiscent of that film's inspiration, Dashiell Hammett's Red Harvest, and its western incarnation, A Fistful of Dollars) saw him return to his earlier style to some extent: a gruff antihero and a heavy focus on stylized action. Hill and the team who made Tales from the Crypt—Joel Silver, Richard Donner, Robert Zemeckis, and David Giler—tried to repeat their success with another anthology, Perversions of Science (1997). Hill worked as producer and directed an episode. However it was not as popular.
In 2012 Paul Lemos with Meola, Bazini and also Chvad SB set up a sort of constant new band. With this line up the group recorded with Martin Bisi and released first a very strange split album with the Italian experimental band Sparkle in Grey ("Perversions of The Aging Savant", Off Records / Old Bicycle Records, 2015) and then a full new record titled "Larva Lumps and Baby Bumps" (Artoffact Records, 2016). As of 2019, Lemos is a high- school English Literature teacher on Long Island, New York. In 2018 Controlled Bleeding added new drummer Michael Larocca to the band.
Born in Siberia, in the industrial city of Kemerovo, Mogutin moved to Moscow as a teenager to separate himself from the elders. He soon began working as a journalist for the first independent Russian publishers, newspapers and radio stations. At the age of 21, Mogutin had gained both critical acclaim and official condemnation for his outspoken queer writings and activism. Accused of "open and deliberate contempt for generally accepted moral norms"; "malicious hooliganism with exceptional cynicism and extreme insolence"; "inflaming social, national, and religious division"; "propaganda of brutal violence, psychic pathology, and sexual perversions" – he came under harassment and a continuous criminal investigation.
According to 1912 witness testimony by Oakleigh Thorne, the run was caused when on October 23, 1907, the New York Times reported that George W. Perkins had made a statement that help was to be extended to the company. He asserted the trust's finances had been of a normal state beforehand. The Times later acknowledged this argument, and denied they were the cause, calling the assertion "perversions of fact" and stating Thorne's comment had been published in seven other newspapers as well. The Times also asserted that the run had begun the day before the reporting, on October 22.
A typical context of the term in Transactions of the first Pan-American Medical Congress 1893: > "Within the past few years the neurologist and the alienist have become > familiar with so many strange morbid perversions and reversions of the > erotic sentiments and sexual passion that they must be considered and > classified in their relation to society, to morals, and to law."C. H. Huges, > President of Neurology and Psychiatry, Barnes Medical College: Erotopathia; > Morbid Erotism, In: Transactions of the first Pan-American Medical Congress, > held in the City of Washington, D.C., U.S.A., September 5–8, 1893. In 1961, an NSA report called them "close friends and somewhat anti-social", "egotistical, arrogant and insecure young men whose place in society was much lower than they believed they deserved", with "greatly inflated opinions concerning their intellectual attainments and talents". In 1963, another NSA report found "no clear motive", that they had not been recruited by foreigners, and termed the defection "impulsive". NSA files obtained by journalists at the Seattle Weekly in 2007 cited definitive testimony on the part of women acquaintances who attested to their heterosexuality. The only perversions recorded were Martin's "all-controlling sadomasochism".
Invettive e licenze, notable for its technical rigor, depicts people overwhelmed by bitterness, shame, feelings of guilt, alienation, scandal, and sexual perversions. The poems also express a constant, thinly veiled desire for death.Cordelli, F. Il poeta postumo. Consenza: Lerici, 1978. Since 1978 has begun a productive collaboration with Pellicanolibri, with the series "Inediti rari e diversi", publishing texts by Alberto Moravia, Renzo Paris, Gianfranco Rossi, Goliarda Sapienza and Anna Maria Ortese, for her with Beppe Costa and Adele Cambria he will manage to enforce for the first time the Bacchelli’s law, an annuity which is intended to poets and writers in need.
The General Assembly of 2008 took several actions related to homosexuality. The first action was to adopt a different translation of the Heidelberg Catechism from 1962, removing the words "homosexual perversions" among other changes. This will require the approval of the 2010 and 2012 General Assemblies as well as the votes of the presbyteries after the 2010 Assembly. The second action was to approve a new Authoritative Interpretation of G-6.0108 of the Book of Order allowing for the ordaining body to make decisions on whether or not a departure from the standards of belief of practice is sufficient to preclude ordination.
Kim's version of the story is marked by his mixing of genres. For example, he frames the story--which deals with an ancient tradition in which elders were abandoned to die--within a modern lecture on birth control. Some of the characteristic traits of Kim's mature style, first seen in these three films, are gothic excess, surrealism, horror, perversions and sexuality. Although in stark contrast to the realism, harmony, balance and sentimentality typical of Korean cinema of the time, Kim's films, in an eccentric and metaphorical way, deal with the realities of postwar, industrializing South Korean society and psychology.
The case of the Brooklyn Thrill Killers is mostly remembered today for its role in the controversy which surrounded at the time the comic book industry. The Court's appointed psychiatric expert was Dr Fredric Wertham, a leading critic of comic books, who had published Seduction of the Innocent earlier that year. Wertham cited the Thrill Killers as an example of the potential harm caused by comic books.Secret Identity by Craig Yoe, published April 2009 Specifically, a fetish comic book series named Nights of Horror was brought as evidence of Jack Koslow's "sexual perversions", and used to convict him and Mittman of their crimes.
In 1909, Gillett passed the state's first eugenics law, making it legal for state officials to sterilize mental patients considered clinically insane, prisoners exhibiting sexual or moral perversions, and anyone with more than three criminal convictions. The law was passed unanimously in the Assembly, and had one dissenting vote in the Senate. Some 19,000 people were sterilized between 1909 and 1950, when eugenics became generally disfavored by the medical profession due to its connections with Nazi Germany. As automobiles became more common along California's roads, Gillett agreed with the Legislature to pass the State Highway Bond Act of 1909.
The book makes it clear that people such as Klebb and Kronsteen are the norm in the Soviet system. in the 1950s, homosexuality and bisexuality were widely considered to be perversions and Fleming by making most of his British characters straight in contrast to most of the Russian characters were part of his strategy to show "the West is the best". In From Russia with love, Fleming was promoting what would now be called heteronormativity, namely that to be straight is to be normal. When Klebb tries to seduce Romanova in her Moscow apartment, she flees in terror.
Vince Lennox, for example, who frequently has to eat cheeseburgers with his boss, does not dare admit to the President that he is actually a vegetarian. Various celebrities publicly support the campaigns for moral integrity and sexual abstinence while behind closed doors indulging in pornography, promiscuity and all kinds of perversions. The President himself, whose son comes out during a live television broadcast, more and more often locks himself in his private study adjacent to the Oval Office to "be alone with his God", a phrase which is very soon recognized by everyone on the presidential staff as a euphemism for drinking bourbon.
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, a peak umbrella body for Muslim organisations, strongly opposed removing discrimination against same-sex couples in federal law. Chairman Ikebal Patel said such moves would threaten the "holy relationship" of marriage and the core values of supporting families. The Sunni Grand Mufti of Australia since 2011, Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, has maintained that Islam opposes what he has termed "sexual perversions" as a "religious fact". One imam sitting on the Sunni Australian National Imams Council described homosexuality as an "evil act" that spread diseases, while another stated that death is the Islamic penalty for homosexuality.
The music video was directed by Sophie Muller and features Björk in a kitchen, fondling and cooking eggs. The usage of eggs was inspired by the singer's favorite book, Story of the Eye by Georges Bataille, a novella which deals with the bizarre sexual perversions of a pair of teenagers. At one point in the book, a girl, Simone, uses boiled eggs for sexual stimulation. The story of the egg comes as Björk explains: She gave Muller a copy of Story of the Eye a couple of days before they filmed but didn't insist that she read it.
He also appears to have a liking to the Kamen Raider series, wearing a festival mask when first introduced. He is able to tell which of the four personalities his "daughter" is at any given time, which surprises Motoko. He is known to train any students who wish to learn his style of fighting, though he claims none have ever been able to complete their training besides a Russian woman, Anna, who he usually calls Anna-chan. He is shown to have a liking for Anna and sometimes uses his training with her for his own perversions, usually to comical effect.
She also wrote; "It's a slice of life portrayal of incipient and accepted patriarchal perversions". Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express wrote that the film "stands out by making its lead protagonists women who lead by example" and praised the performances of Ohlyan and Batra. Nandakumar Rammohan of The Quint called the single-shot camerawork "unobtrusive" and said it makes the audience "feel like a fly on the wall, quietly observing the lives of these women". He also wrote; "Soni is restrained and creates an atmosphere that might get your blood boiling but never reflects that aggression in the film itself".
387–391 (July 10, 1991). Their effort to publish the work was censored as the result of a criminal prosecution instigated by John S. Sumner, Secretary of the New York Society for the Suppression of Vice. In response to Sumner, Heap wrote of James Joyce: > Mr. Joyce was not teaching early Egyptian perversions nor inventing new > ones. Girls lean back everywhere, showing lace and silk stockings; wear low- > cut sleeveless blouses, breathless bathing suits; men think thoughts and > have emotions about these things everywhere—seldom as delicately and > imaginatively as Mr. Bloom (in the "Nausicaa" episode)--and no one is > corrupted.
However, she is exactly the type of secretary Don needs, as she is not overawed by him and won't have an affair with him, which is the reason Joan assigned her to him. However, it is mentioned by Bert and Roger that she was rather attractive many years ago. In his tape recordings for his autobiography, Roger reveals he'd had an affair with Miss Blankenship when he was a very young man at the firm, which caused a rift between Cooper and himself. Roger implies she was sexually adventurous and aggressive, referring to her as the "Queen of Perversions".
A German woodcut of Aesop's fable showing the litigants before a judge, 1501 The Dog and the Sheep is one of Aesop’s Fables and is numbered 478 in the Perry Index.Aesopica Originally its subject was the consequence of bearing false witness. However, longer treatments of the story during the Middle Ages change the focus to deal with perversions of justice by the powerful at the expense of the poor. It has sometimes been alternatively titled The Wolf, the Dog and the Sheep in order to distinguish it from the fable of the dispute between the sheep and the dog that guards them (Perry 356).
The Vandelliinae are a subfamily of catfishes (order Siluriformes) of the family Trichomycteridae. Vandelliines are hematophagous, feeding on the blood of larger fish. Members of this subfamily may be known as candirú, notorious for occasionally entering human bodily orifices, particularly the urethra; no evidence indicates such attacks are anything more than rare and accidental perversions of the usual feeding behaviour of the parasite — it seems unlikely that it would survive in the human body for long, so such an entry should be disastrous for both parties. In the usual course of events, parasitic vandelliines enter the body cavities of host fishes, feed on blood from gill filaments, and leave again.
Thus, the Real of every scientific theory is the Chaos that sets itself as the limit and background of every causative process. The Real in psychoanalysis is the background to the drives, the bodily, irreducibly individual background before which all interpretation stops. In particular (for example in La strategia freudiana [The Freudian Strategy] and in Perversionen [Perversions]) he has engaged in an original reinterpretation of Freudian theory and of psychoanalysis in general, as founded on a precise metaphysics of “the signifying flesh”. Freud’s interpretative and explicative tissue, however, also refers to something uninterpretable and inexplicable: the drive as an opaque non-signifying source of subjectivity.
Dollimore also noted that Scruton sees homosexuality as a perversion. He argued that by "privileging sexual difference", Scruton is engaging in "the modern intensification of sexuality which in other ways he might regard as contributing to a legitimation of the perversions he repudiates." He found his writing jargon-ridden, believing that its Hegelian framework bestows "a spurious profundity on a normative sexual politics" that is "timid, conservative, and deeply ignorant." Posner noted that like Anscombe, in her defense of Pope Paul VI's encyclical Humanae vitae (1968), Scruton sought to free Christian sexual morality from inessential details such as "making sexual pleasure problematic even in marriage".
There are many interpretations to the practice of footbinding. The interpretive models used include fashion (the Chinese customs may be compared to examples of Western women's fashion such as corsetry); seclusion (sometimes evaluated as morally superior to the gender mingling in the West); perversion (the practice imposed by men with sexual perversions), inexplicable deformation, child abuse, and extreme cultural traditionalism. In the late 20th century some feminists introduced positive overtones, arguing that it gave women a sense of mastery over their bodies, and pride in their beauty.Patricia Buckley Ebrey, “Gender and Sinology: Shifting Western Interpretations of Foot binding, 1300-1890,” ‘’ Late Imperial China’’ (1999) 20#2 pp 1-34.
Starting from a critique of reductive psychologies of racism, which reduce it to patterns of prejudice, or individual pathology, Cohen looked for the social structures and cultural norms through which Freud's concept of ‘narcissism of minor difference’ might become racialised. He found these in the autochthonies which feature in myths of origin operating in discourses of nation, people , and race. Cohen argues that it is through these ‘perversions of inheritance’ that the racist imagination gains its purchase on the real and becomes 'common sense'. If the unconscious is the 'discourse of the other' (Lacan) then unconscious racism is the 'discourse of the other’s discourse of the other'.
One of his pupils was Daidōji Yūzan, a samurai from the Daidōji family, who would become the author of an important bushidō text, Budō shoshin shu. He also drew attention to the need to study and adopt Western weapons and tactics, as introduced by the Dutch. In 1665, Yamaga publicly avowed his antipathy for Neo-Confucianism in the Essence of Confucianism and was arrested the following year at the instigation of Hoshina Masayuki, Lord of Aizu. Yamaga proclaimed his belief that the unadulterated truth could only be found in the ethical teachings of Confucius, and that subsequent developments within the Confucian tradition represented perversions of the original doctrine.
Before they became involved in the creation of a new album Rubén and Leiva collaborated on different projects with a number of other artists. On Ariel Rot’s album "Dúos, tríos y otras perversiones" (Duos, Trios and Other Perversions) they collaborated on the track "Canal 69"(Channel 69). In June 2006 they sang "Mueve tus caderas" (Move Your Hips) at the Teatro Joy Eslava in Madrid with Burning who were touring to promote their album "Dulces dieciséis" (Sweet Sixteen). The band also collaborated with Jaime Urrutia on the song "Cuatro rosas" (Four Roses) for a live album entitled "En Joy", which was also recorded at the Teatro Joy Eslava.
In 1939 Tronko was a member of Western Ukrainian People's Assembly that voted in for the Western Ukraine to join the Ukrainian SSR. During World War II he was a member of the South-western, Stalingrad, Southern, 4th Ukrainian fronts, participated in defense of Kyiv and Stalingrad and later in liberation of Rostov, Donbas, Left-bank Ukraine, and Kyiv. One of the first, Tronko entered the liberated Kyiv on 6 November 1943 as a major and appointed the first secretary of the city and regional Komsomol organization. In 1947 he was dismissed from the position due to accusations of Lazar Kaganovich in "nationalistic perversions".
The band's fascination with horror movies and writers continues here with "Satanic Rites of Drugula", a reference to the Hammer Studios horror film The Satanic Rites of Dracula, and "Dunwich", a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's short story The Dunwich Horror; also "Black Magic Rituals & Perversions (I. Frisson Des Vampires II. Zora)" makes reference to Jean Rollin film Le Frisson des Vampires (Shiver of the Vampires) and to Italian comic book character Zora the Vampire. Furthermore, the album cover of "Witchcult Today" is edited from the poster for The Devil Rides Out and is reminiscent of a scene from the 1975 occult thriller Race with the Devil.
More work was done for Freddy's boiler room than made it into the film; the film crew constructed a whole sleeping place for Freddy, showing that he was quite a hobo, an outcast and reject from society, living and sleeping where he worked, and surrounding himself with naked Barbie dolls and other things as a showcase of his fantasies and perversions. This place was supposed to be where he forged his glove and abducted and murdered his victims. The scene where Nancy is attacked by Krueger in her bathtub was accomplished with a special bottomless tub. The tub was put in a bathroom set that was built over a swimming pool.
These concerts would last for hours on end, and some women were rumored to give birth during them, or men faking death to escape (Nero forbade anyone from leaving the performance until it was completed). Nero's eccentricities continued in the tradition of his predecessors in mental and personal perversions. According to Suetonius, Nero had one boy named Sporus castrated, and then had sex with him as though he were a woman. Suetonius quotes one Roman who lived around this time who remarked that the world would have been better off if Nero's father Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus had married someone more like the castrated boy.
For some participants, "Liberation, at least in its sexual form, was a new kind of imposed morality, quite as restricting" as what had gone before—one that "took very little account of the complexity of human emotional connections"Jenny Diski, The Sixties (London 2009) p. 62. New, more sceptical currents of disenchantment with perversion emerged as a result (alongside more traditional condemnations) in both the French-speaking and English-speaking worlds. Lacan had early highlighted "the ambivalence proper to the 'partial drives' of scoptophilia, sadomasochism ... the often very little 'realised' aspect of the apprehension of others in the practice of certain of these perversions".Jacques Lacan, Ecrits: A Selection (London 19960 p.
"With a blending of new paths, old traditions, and new traditions, NECSS has taken its first steps in blazing a different trail in the future of skepticism". The eleventh NECSS in 2019 featured keynote speaker Carl Zimmer with a talk called “Heredity: Its Powers, Perversions, and Potential,” in which he spoke about the potential consequences of home genetic tests without guidance from medical professionals. Brian Wecht, Jay Novella, and Steven Novella explored how skeptical and scientific characters are portrayed in media in an interactive workshop called “How Science and Skepticism are Portrayed in Pop Culture.” Other workshops include “Psychology of Magic” with mentalist Eric Walton and “Shaping Your Child’s Behavior with Science” with Jocelyn Novella and Liz Gaston.
In Perversions of Justice (2002), Churchill argues that the U.S.'s legal system was adapted to gain control over Native American people. Tracing the evolution of federal Indian law, Churchill argues that the principles set forth were not only applied to non-Indians in the U.S., but later adapted for application abroad. He concludes that this demonstrates the development of the U.S.'s "imperial logic", which depends on a "corrupt form of legalism" to establish colonial control and empire. Churchill's controversial essay on 9/11 was expanded into a book-length manuscript, published as On the Justice of Roosting Chickens: Reflections on the Consequences of U.S. Imperial Arrogance and Criminality (2003) by AK Press.
Palaeologus had encountered the Polish Brethren of the ecclesia minor in Kraków, and much of his antitrinitarian teaching accords with theirs, while being more systematically expressed; and much more learned in presentation. He departed from their doctrines and practices, however, in two key respects; which proved the occasion for bitter controversy. Nevertheless, although Palaeologus perceived the arguments of his Polish opponents as Satanic perversions, this did not lead him to seek their suppression or that of their supporters. Just as hearing the revealed scriptures provides for Palaeologus an assured route to truth; so the exposure and confounding of error in free and open debate ensures the defeat of the Master of Lies.
Krafft-Ebing criticised several objections to medical treatment of homosexuality, including the charges that it was ineffective and that it gave an opportunity "to tainted individuals to propagate their perversions". In his view, physicians had a duty to provide such treatment if it was requested. He concluded his discussion of methods of curing homosexuality by remarking that “in the majority of cases, the patient is quite satisfied when he becomes sexually neutral, and under these circumstances medical skill has rendered a great service to both society and the individual himself.” Later editions of Psychopathia Sexualis included an increased number of autobiographies by gay people who made it clear that they did not wish to change their sexual orientation.
Chiefdom courts found certain reasons to automatically justify divorce: a woman's desertion, being struck by a wife, the wife's adultery, sexual refusal of the wife, and having an abortion, were all adequate reasons. Grounds for a husband to claim divorce were failure of the wife to carry out household duties, visiting a doctor without permission, and possible infertility. A wife could divorce if the husband deserted for a period of time without supporting her; if the husband seriously injured her by, for example, breaking a limb, but not simply beating her; the husband's impotence or perversions; or if her husband generally failed to maintain her and her children properly. A husband's adultery would not be one of the grounds.
Rudd, Niall. The Satires of Horace. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1966. pg. 238 The analogies in the text are similarly graphic, as in the story of the over-insistent heir in Thebes who was required by the will of his benefactor to carry her oil-soaked slippery carcass on his shoulders during the funeral procession. Satire 2.5 is often thought of as the least “Horatian” of the Satires and is often compared to works by Juvenal, a poet of the 1st century AD. Juvenal’s poems focus on the perversions of man and hint at Man’s loss of “his highest potentialities”.Anderson, W.S., “Imagery in the Satires of Horace and Juvenal,” AJP 81 (1960). pg. 241-243Roberts, Michael.
The first film received almost universal condemnation from the media, though it also "attracted massive interest" from the public. The newspaper The Arizona Republic described Zeitgeist: The Movie as "a bramble of conspiracy theories involving Sept. 11, the international monetary system, and Christianity" saying also that the movie trailer states that "there are people guiding your life and you don't even know it". A review in The Irish Times wrote that "these are surreal perversions of genuine issues and debates, and they tarnish all criticism of faith, the Bush administration, and globalization—there are more than enough factual injustices in this world to be going around without having to invent fictional ones".
Stoller asserts that threats to core gender identity are like threats to sense of self and result in the defenses known as the perversions. In his most notable contribution, Perversion (1975), Stoller attempts to illuminate the dynamics of sexual perversion and normalize it. Stoller suggests that perversion inevitably entails an expression of unconscious aggression in the form of revenge against a person who, in early years, made some form of threat to the child's core gender identity, either in the form of overt trauma or through the frustrations of the Oedipal conflict. In Sexual Excitement (1979), Stoller finds the same perverse dynamics at work in all sexual excitement on a continuum from overt aggression to subtle fantasy.
Filmmakers Susan Streitfeld and Julie Hébert used this photo as an icon in their film Female Perversions (1996). "Nuestra Señora de Las Iguanas" is also part of the 2019 series exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston: Graciela Iturbide's Mexico. Comparisons have been made between Iturbide's "Nuestra Señora de las Iguanas" and La Virgen de Guadalupe, showing an indigenous woman from Juchitan as a rendition of La Virgen of Guadalupe, the image serves as a reminder of the hardships and injustices that indigenous communities in Mexico have suffered. However, her work in Juchitán was not only about women, as she also photographed "Magnolia", a photo of a nonbinary person wearing a dress and looking at themselves in a mirror.
To Giaffir and the court for the majority of The Bride of Abydos, Selim is a man with no masculinity. Inasmuch as the aspect of sexual identity shadows the Selim's relations with Giaffir and his court, certain sexual perversions, namely incest, seemed to run chiefly in the mind of Byron from the very inception of the poem. Byron allows himself to explore the taboos of such love lines in the wild passions of the Orient, away from British sensibilities. Nevertheless, while using such a foreign setting to entertain tale of taboo, the poet also justifies Selim and Zuleika's relations with respect to knowledge of that culture: "[N]one else there could obtain that degree of intercourse leading to general affection"Graham, Peter W. Lord Byron.
" He also believed that, because Scruton rejected Freud's metapsychology, Scruton created a mistaken impression "that we bear moral blame for our sexual incapacities as well as our chosen perversions." He faulted Scruton's proposals for moral education, suggesting that underlying them "there lurks an ineradicable Freudianism that still fears being overwhelmed by wild, untamed desire." Pateman wrote that there is much to be learned from Scruton's account of sexual desire, including his discussions of arousal, the object of desire, the meaning of the sexual organs, normality, and sexual phenomena such as sado- masochism and jealousy, but that his book was nevertheless "deeply flawed." Though she found Scruton's account of desire appealing, she did not consider it a description "of the structure of our existing sexual lives.
" Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian gave the film four out of five stars and called the film "A gripping and exquisitely horrible movie about contemporary Hollywood – positively vivisectional in its sadism and scorn." Mark Kermode, also of The Guardian, compared the film to "Sunset Boulevard, with sprinklings of Chinatown, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls and Mommie Dearest thrown in for good measure." He called Moore "magnificently horrendous" with Wasikowska "provid[ing] ice-cool counterpoint", Williams "terrific" and Pattinson "nicely underplayed". In his review for Slant Magazine, Budd Wilkins compared the film to David Lynch's Mulholland Drive (2001): "Maps to the Stars is a scabrous, etched-in-acid comedy that digs deeper into the perversions and pathologies undergirding the Dream Factory than anything since Mulholland Drive.
The lorry driver attempts to rape the girl but she escapes and is rescued by Stephen. Belle wishes to catch a train at a nearby station and Stephen drives her there; but on arrival he untruthfully claims her train is not running and offers to drive her to her destination instead. With Stephen not being too forthcoming on his own background, the trip focuses on what they are both hiding. Flashbacks gradually reveal that Stephen is a voyeur deeply into sexual perversions, and that Belle is an orphan who was a victim of sexual abuse on the part of her uncle who used to watch her undress through peepholes in the wall and walk in on her as she bathed.

Both the permissive society and the sexual revolution are perceived as "perversions" by white power skinheads, who generally promote an image of "clean-living, drug-free, heterosexual, working-class males". Homophobia and the rejection of any form of drug-taking (except tobacco and alcohol) are common traits found across skinhead groups. According to historian John F. Pollard, this "puritanical" stance takes its roots in the anti-permissive way of life of the original skinheads who rejected the mod and hippie subcultures. A central element of this puritanism is the skinhead idea of "naturalness"; their aim is to "eliminate all abnormalities like, homosexuals, lesbians and other kinds of 'sick' and 'deviant' people" according to a University of Joensuu research quoted by Pollard.

He > filmed the same shots again and again, hoping that in the editing room he > could find exactly the right nuance in her facial expression. Among the other cast members was French playwright Antonin Artaud as the monk Massieu. Artaud later stated that the film was meant to "reveal Joan as the victim of one of the most terrible of all perversions: the perversion of a divine principle in its passage through the minds of men, whether they be Church, Government or what you will."Milne. pp. 106-107.
Orwell chooses five passages of text which "illustrate various of the mental vices from which we now suffer." The samples are: by Harold Laski ("five negatives in 53 words"), Lancelot Hogben (mixed metaphors), an essay by Paul Goodman on psychology in the July 1945 issue of Politics ("simply meaningless"), a communist pamphlet ("an accumulation of stale phrases") and a reader's letter in Tribune (in which "words and meaning have parted company"). From these, Orwell identifies a "catalogue of swindles and perversions" which he classifies as "dying metaphors", "operators or verbal false limbs", "pretentious diction" and "meaningless words". (See cliches, prolixity, peacock terms and weasel words.) Orwell notes that writers of modern prose tend not to write in concrete terms but use a "pretentious Latinized style" (compare Anglish).
Febrônio Índio do Brasil, is a bearer of a constitutional psychopathy, characterized by ethical deviations, covering the form of moral madness and instinctive perversions, expressed in homosexuality with sadistic impulses, a state that is joined by delirious ideas of the imaginary, mystical character. 2\. His antisocial reactions or the criminal acts of which he is accused result from this morbid condition which prevents him from the normal use of his will 3\. Consequently, their imputation capacity is impaired or terminated. 4\. It should be borne in mind, however, that the abnormal manifestations of his mentality are elements that define his inescapable fear and that he must therefore be segregated ad vitam for the salutary and elevated effects of social defense, establishment appropriate to delinquent psychopaths.
The negative account of mainstream legal analysis is provocative, and the critique of its orientation to the courts is important and timely."Waldron 528 Robin Bradley Kar contends that Unger's constructive program in What Should Legal Analysis Become? is inconsistent with his negative criticisms of contemporary American legal interpretation. In his review of the book in the Yale Law Journal,"Legal Analysis and the Perversions of Theory (review of What Should Legal Analysis Become?), 106 Yale Law Journal 2685 (1997) Kar argued that Unger's criticism of contemporary legal analysis rests on the idea that we should not rest our interpretations of law upon general "policies of collective welfare and principles of moral and political right,"Kar 2686 because such reliance works to suppress important parts of the democratic compromises that help advance radical democratic aims.
Realistic elements of The Petty Demon include a vivid description of 19th-century rural everyday life, while a fantastic element is the presentation of Peredonov's hallucinations on equal terms with external events. While the book was received as an indictment of Russian society, it is a very metaphysical novel and one of the major prose works of the Russian Symbolist movement. James H. Billington said of it: > The book puts on display a Freudian treasure chest of perversions with > subtlety and credibility. The name of the novel's hero, Peredonov, became a > symbol of calculating concupiscence for an entire generation... He torments > his students, derives erotic satisfaction from watching them kneel to pray, > and systematically befouls his apartment before leaving it as part of his > generalized spite against the universe.
The album was recorded partially by Mario Bossi at Arci Blob (Arcore) and then by Serrapiglio, while the master was made by Riccardo Gamondi (former member of hip-hop weird band Uoki Toki and known for his collaboration with Violetta Baudegarde and Gianbeppe Succi). A little peeble, whose use is up to the buyer, as a provocation, is included with the CD edition, on whose cover the drawing of Uggeri represent an angry crowd. In 2014 they released "The Calendar", a mostly acoustic record that includes a booklet with a picture for every month of the year. In 2015 they released an (anti)split album with the American band Controlled Bleeding entitled "Perversions of the Aging Savant" on the Belgian label Off Records, owned by the occasional drummer of Tuxedomoon, Alain Lefebvre.
During the course of the trial Duncan objected several times to stop the prosecutor in irrelevant and in leading questions, or in perversions of answers. The Admiralty was therefore desirous that he should not sit on the court-martial of Sir Hugh Palliser for failure to obey orders during the same battle. The court-martial was set for April. The day before the assembling of the court the admiralty sent down orders for Monarch to go to St. Helens. Her crew, however, refused to weigh the anchor until they were paid their advance; and as this could not be done in time, Monarch was still in Portsmouth harbour when the signal for the court-martial was made; cites Considerations on the Principles of Naval Discipline, 8vo, 1781, p. 106n.
Self-actualization is a subset of the overall organismic actualizing tendency, and begins with the infant learning to differentiate what is "self" and what is "other" within its "total perceptual field," as their full self-awareness gradually crystallizes. Interactions with significant others are key to the process of self- actualization: The process of self-actualization is continuous as the individual matures into a socially competent, interdependent autonomy, and is ongoing throughout the life-cycle. When there is sufficient tension between the individual's sense of self and their experience, a psychopathological state of incongruence can arise, according to Rogers, "individuals are culturally conditioned, rewarded, reinforced, for behaviors which are in fact perversions of the natural directions of the unitary actualizing tendency."Rogers, C. R. (1963) The actualizing tendency in relation to 'motive' and to consciousness.
In her article "Art and the Law," written after being served with obscenity allegations but before the ensuing trial, Heap pointed out the irony of being prosecuted for printing the thoughts of the character Gerty MacDowell, "an innocent, simple, childish girl," in attempts to protect the minds of young women.Heap 6 Heap first asks "If the young girl corrupts, can she also be corrupted?" and goes on to quip, "If there is anything I really fear it is the mind of the young girl". She also argued that: > Mr. Bloom—and no one is corrupted.
Der Spiegel also criticised Kunkel for the fact that the novel is not about the Holocaust and noted that the title, Endstufe, also is the name of a far-right German rock band. Further, Der Spiegel published private e-mails from Kunkel's former publisher Ulrike Schieder who complained about the novel's portrayal of Allied soldiers as "bloodthirsty animals" and of Germans as victims. Kunkel dismissed the accusations as ridiculous, and accused his accusers of being upset only because the novel is "about the moral dimensions of everybody", in that it does not portray the sexual perversions of the Soviet and American armies as more righteous than those of the German side. He also argued that his critics did not understand his black humour, and that the book would have been uncontroversial in Britain or the United States, describing himself as an "Anglophile German".

In 1981, Treadwell's stand at the FIAC (Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain) at the Grand Palais in Paris was deemed "deplorable and very popular" by Richard Shone in The Burlington Magazine.

Fauves’ paintings take on a disorienting effect due to his technique of layering, cutting out, and collaging elements of pop-cultural images to a point where they become, not unrecognizable, but perversions of the familiar that ask the viewer to question what they think they know.
Perverse sexuality is as a rule excellently centred: all its activities are directed to an aim—usually a single one; one component instinct has gained the upper hand...In that respect there is no difference between perverse and normal sexuality other than the fact that their dominating component instincts and consequently their sexual aims are different. In both of them, one might say, a well-organized tyranny has been established, but in each of the two a different family has seized the reins of power'.Sigmund Freud, Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis (PFL 1) p. 365 A few years later, in "A Child is Being Beaten" (1919), Freud laid greater stress on the fact that perversions "go through a process of development, that they represent an end-product and not an initial manifestation ... that the sexual aberrations of childhood, as well as those of mature life, are ramifications of the same complex"Sigmund Freud, On Psychopathology (PFL 10) p.

A similar phenomenon can often be observed in kinked helical cables such as telephone handset cords. The phenomenon was known to Charles Darwin, who wrote in 1865, The term "tendril perversion" was coined by Goriely and Tabor in 1998 based on the word perversion found in the 19th Century science literature. "Perversion" is a transition from one chirality to another and was known to James Clerk Maxwell, who attributed it to the topologist J. B. Listing.
LGBT characters in films began to appear more regularly only in the 1980s. Films in the late 1920s and early 1930s reflected the liberal attitudes of the day and could include sexual innuendos and references to homosexuality, but from the 1930s until 1968 the film industry in the US followed the Production Code. The code spelled out what was morally acceptable for a public audience; references to sexual "perversions" such as homosexuality were forbidden. Virtually all motion pictures produced in the United States adhered to the code,Doherty, Thomas "The Code Before 'Da Vinci'" Washington Post (May 20, 2006) and similar censorship was common in other countries, for example an early version of the first lesbian vampire film Dracula's Daughter, a film described in The Celluloid Closet as presenting "homosexuality as a predatory weakness", was rejected by the British Board of Film Censors in 1935, who said in part "...Dracula's Daughter would require half a dozen ... languages to adequately express its beastliness.".
UK doom metal band Solstice covered "Protest & Survive", and Norwegian black metal band Carpathian Forest covered "The Possibilities of Life's Destruction" on their compilation album We're Going to Hell for This - Over a Decade of Perversions, while the grindcore/death metal band Napalm Death covered "War's No Fairytale" on their Leaders Not Followers: Part 2 album. As well, the Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At the Gates covered "The Nightmare Continues" as a hidden track on their With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness album. French doom/sludge band Monarch! also covered "A Look at Tomorrow" on their A Look At Tomorrow/Mass Destruction EP. UK drone / sludge monsters Moss covered 'Maimed And Slaughtered' on their 'Tombs Of The Blind Drugged' EP. The UK black metal band The Meads of Asphodel adopted a medley style cover of "Hell on Earth" and "Blood Runs Red" on their 2006 EP In the Name of God, Welcome to Planet Genocide.
Her younger contemporary Alain de Lille personified the theme of sexual sin in opposition to nature in The Complaint of Nature by having Nature herself denounce sexual immorality and especially homosexuality as rebellion against her direction, terming it confusion between masculine and feminine and between subject and object. The Complaint also includes a striking description of the neglect of womanhood: In the 13th century, Thomas Aquinas argued that not all things to which a person might be inclined are "natural" in the morally relevant sense; rather, only the inclination to the full and proper expression of the human nature, and inclinations which align with that inclination, are natural. Contrary inclinations are perversions of the natural in the sense that they do seek a good, but in a way destructive of good. This view points from the natural to the Divine, because (following Aristotle) he said all people seek happiness; but according to Aquinas, happiness can only finally be attained through the Beatific Vision.
Critical reception for the short has been positive and many outlets such as Horror Society and Modern Horrors praised the film for its gross-out special effects. Horror Society complimented the film for its "amazing practical effects" and commented that the "story for [Computer Hearts] is one we have seen a few times before but not one of [the previous films in its genre] goes to the lengths and perversions that this film does." Modern Horrors also praised the practical make-up effects and compared them to the films of David Cronenberg, "the vaginal CPU looks like something out of Videodrome and there's more than a little bit of Brundlefly in Albert's cybernetic metamorphosis," however they criticized the film's "lazy writing." Beneath the Underground warned that "the subject matter and visuals will be way too controversial for the average film goer," but called Computer Hearts "a more trippy, Troma-esque, David Lynch- style version of the Hollywood film Her," and also praised Graham Trudeau's original score.
However, only moments before he can go through with his devious plans, he is stopped in the nick of time by an angry Sherry, who now fully understands exactly what Howard was doing, and flies into a rage at him before leaving with her daughter and the boys. Subsequently, arrested for his illegal activities, Howard prepares for the impending trial with his attorney, reviewing his testimony and attempting to justify his perversions (during which time we learn that Howard's former "angel" Michelle has been institutionalized, making her the "Fallen Angel" of the title). Meanwhile, the prosecution wants Jennifer to testify against Howard, but Sherry refuses to allow it, feeling they need to move on. However, Frank is more objective, admitting that while he's worried about what will happen to Jennifer if she testifies, he's also worried about what will happen to other kids if she doesn't, telling Sherry it could be the most important decision her daughter's ever made, and encouraging Jennifer to think about it.
As one of the causes of homosexuality, Freud mentions the distressing heterosexual experience: "Those cases are of particular interest in which the libido changes over to an inverted sexual object after a distressing experience with a normal one." Freud appears to have been undecided whether or not homosexuality was pathological, expressing different views on this issue at different times and places in his work. Freud frequently borrowed the term "inversion" from his contemporaries to describe homosexuality, something which in his view was distinct from the necessarily pathological perversions, and suggested that several distinct kinds might exist, cautioning that his conclusions about it were based on a small and not necessarily representative sample of patients. Freud derived much of his information on homosexuality from psychiatrists and sexologists such as Richard von Krafft-Ebing and Magnus Hirschfeld, and was also influenced by Eugen Steinach, a Viennese endocrinologist who transplanted testicles from straight men into gay men in attempts to change their sexual orientation.
Formed in 1991, Deranged is a very peculiar band in the Swedish scene: unlike bands such as Grave, Entombed and Dismember, Deranged does not have the Swedish sound and plays a very fast and technical deathgrind with several groove influences. Drawing inspirations from Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Suffocation and Napalm Death, the band is better associated with U.S death metal. The band have released the singles The Confessions of a Necrophile -title directly extracted of the movie- (1992) and Upon the Medical Slab (1994), the EP's The Confessions Continue (1993), Architects of Perversions (1994) and Sculpture of the Dead (1996) and the albums Rated X (1995), High on Blood (1998), III (2000), Deranged (2001), Plainfield Cemetery (2002), Obscenities in B-Flat (2006), The Redlight Murder Case (2008) and Cut, Carve, Rip, Serve (2011). Also, in 2001 the band did a split with Abscess Throughout the years, the band suffered several drastic changes in the line-up and in November 2007, the original members were Rikard Wermén (drums) and Axel Johansson (guitar).
I'm concerned about the drug culture, I'm concerned about the > pornography, the violence, the sex, the perversions that they see day in and > day out. I want to make sure that every computer that goes into a home in > the future, has a button there, or a place for the citizen, the parent, to > be able to block all of that pornography from their kids' Internet screen. Earlier in the campaign, conservatives such as Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, the president of the American Family Foundation, and Daniel Weiss, media analyst for James Dobson's Focus on the Family had criticized Romney for not having done enough, in their view, to stop Marriott Hotels from selling access to hardcore pornography in their hotel rooms in the decade from 1992 to 2001 that Romney had served on the hotel chain's board. Romney told the Associated Press that he did not recall pornography having come up for discussion while he had served on the board; and he said that he was unaware of how much revenue the hotels may have generated from pornography.
These tools comprise Reich's view of "conservative, sex-negative moralism" and include: # the ideology of lifelong, monogamous marriage, which Reich calls "compulsive marriage"; # the suppression of infantile sexuality, which Reich cites as the primary cause of unnatural sexual desires and perversions later in life; # a lack of candid sexual education or sexual freedom for adolescents; # the persecution of abnormal sexualities such as homosexuality; # the illegality of abortion; # marriage as a legalized institution, and the lack of an "incompatibility" reason for divorce. These various means of suppression in turn cause the authoritarian state's citizens to both repress their natural sexual desires and create new, neurotic, unhealthy sexual desires. Reich explains that this relationship between suppression/repression of natural sexuality and the creation or intensification of sexual neuroses is a cyclical relationship that constantly results in more power for the authoritarian state. The authoritarian state's motive, whether it is conscious of it or not, is to preserve its economic structure through continuance of the patriarchal family as its primary social unit.
Degeneration theory achieved a detailed articulation in Bénédict Morel's Treatise on Degeneration of the Human Species (1857), a complicated work of clinical commentary from an asylum in Normandy (Saint Yon in Rouen) which, in the popular imagination at least, coalesced with de Gobineau's Essay on The Inequality of the Human Races (1855). Morel's concept of mental degeneration - in which he believed that intoxication and addiction in one generation of a family would lead to hysteria, epilepsy, sexual perversions, insanity, learning disability and sterility in subsequent generations - is an example of Lamarckian biological thinking and Morel's medical discussions are reminiscent of the clinical literature surrounding syphilitic infection (syphilography). Morel's psychiatric theories were taken up and advocated by his friend Philippe Buchez, and through his political influence became an official doctrine in French legal and administrative medicine. Arthur de Gobineau came from an impoverished family (with a domineering and adulterous mother) which claimed an aristocratic ancestry; he was a failed author of historical romances and his wife was widely rumored to be a Créole from Martinique.
Kate Richards O'Hare, imprisoned in 1917 for five years under the Espionage Act of 1917, published a firsthand account of incarcerated women In Prison complete with frightening accounts of lesbian sexual abuse among inmates. So wrote O'Hare: "...A thorough education in sex perversions is part of the educational system of most prisons, and for the most part the underkeepers [sic] and the stool pigeons are very efficient teachers..." O'Hare then recounted a systematic induction of women into a cycle of forced prostitution to which authorities turned a blind eye: "...there seems to be considerable ground for the commonly accepted belief of the prison inmates that much of its graft and profits may percolate upward to the under officials...the...stool pigeon...handled the vices so rampant in the prison...she, in fact, held the power of life and death over us, by being able to secure endless punishments in the blind, she could and did compel indulgence in this vice in order that its profits might be secured".
"Frye (1947: 345) Working along the same lines, Florence Sandler argues that in these texts Blake "set himself to the task of separating true religion from its perversions in his own age and in the Bible itself."Sandler (1990: 43) Also concentrating on the refutation of deism, Alicia Ostriker refers to the series as a "mockery of rationalism and an insistence on Man's potential infinitude."Ostriker (1977: 877) S. Foster Damon suggests that what Blake has done in All Religions are One is "dethroned reason from its ancient place as the supreme faculty of man, replacing it with the Imagination."Damon (1988: 343) Damon also argues that "Blake had completed his revolutionary theory of the nature of Man and proclaimed the unity of all true religions."Damon (1988: 16) Harold Bloom reaches much the same conclusion, suggesting that Blake is arguing for the "primacy of the poetic imagination over all metaphysical and moral systems."Harold Bloom, "Commentary" in Erdman (1982: 894) A similar conclusion is reached by Denise Vultee, who argues that "the two tractates are part of Blake's lifelong quarrel with the philosophy of Bacon, Newton, and Locke.
In addition to numerous articles he has written for The New York Times and other periodicals, Unger wrote the book, The Emergency State (published 2012) in which, according to a review in The New York Times, he "...deplores what he sees as Washington’s obsession with security and overreliance on military and intelligence capabilities, arguing that they are dangerous perversions of the country’s Jeffersonian traditions." Other recent publications include chapters he contributed to Origins of the National Security State and The Legacy of Harry S. Truman (2015) and a 2013 Italian-language book, 22 novembre 1963, Il giorno in cui ci svegliammo dal sogno cinquat'anni dopo: JFK visto dagli americani d'Italia (22 November 1963, Fifty years after the day we woke from the dream: Views of JFK by Americans in Italy) titled, "Un americano amico dell’Europa" ("An American Friend of Europe").Unger, David.
