To achieve a holistic perspective within each of these settings, social pedagogy draws together theories and concepts from related disciplines such as sociology, psychology, education, philosophy, medical sciences, and social work.

Leon Fleisher (July 23, 1928 – August 2, 2020) was an American classical pianist, conductor and pedagogue. He was one of the most renowned pianists and pedagogues in the world. Music correspondent Elijah Ho called him "one of the most refined and transcendent musicians the United States has ever produced". Born in San Francisco, Fleisher began playing piano at the age of four, and began studying with Artur Schnabel at age nine.
After World War I, he moved to St. Petersburg, when in 1918, he moved back to Warsaw. After new aesthetics in Russia after World War I, his work gained criticism by pedagogues, and positive views by the journal Mir iskusstva. In the 1920s, he travelled again to find new artistic themes, to Greece, Turkey, Morocco, Bosnia, Sweden, and Norway. In 1922, he co-founded the artist group Sursum Corda.
As a composer and pianist, Slavka Atanasijević received recognition from pedagogues, artists, and critics of her time (e.g., Franjo Kuhač and Antun Schwartz). While she started composing in her early childhood, only three of her compositions, piano variations and fantasies on folk and town melodies, survived. Greenfield went to Radcliffe College from 1958-1962 and received an A.B. in Social Relations and was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa. She attended Harvard University from 1962-1963 and the Institute d'Etudes Pedagogues at the University of Dakar, Senegal from 1963-1964. Her graduate school advisor was Jerome Bruner.

In 1934 Isaak Brodsky, a disciple of Ilya Repin was appointed director of the National Academy of Arts and the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Brodsky invited D. Kardovsky among the most distinguished painters and pedagogues to teach at the Academy. The system of master’s workshops was restored at the Department of Painting. Students were assigned to one of the workshops after they completed their second-year courses.
The Ancient Roman definition of domus consisted of everyone living in the household, which included slaves. Slaves were a constant presence in a Roman family. A significant example were the wet nurses and pedagogues who cared for and raised the children. In some cases, vocal pedagogues have found the use of vocal fry therapeutically helpful to students who have trouble producing lower notes. Alberto Jonás Alberto Jonás (June 8, 1868, Madrid – November 10, 1943, Philadelphia) was a Spanish pianist, composer, and piano pedagogue. Although not much is known about his life, as a pianist he was regarded as a virtuoso on the level of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Moriz Rosenthal, Leopold Godowsky, Józef Hofmann, and Josef Lhévinne . He also ranked, during the 1920s and 30s, among the greatest and most sought-after keyboard pedagogues of the time.
Vennard was renowned as an excellent teacher whose written works have influenced generations of singers, vocal pedagogues and voice scientists. He taught many successful singers including acclaimed mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne, who studied under him at the University of Southern California. Vennard studied English at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1930. He became interested in music and decided to pursue a career as an opera singer.
Laco, together with Titus Vinius, who became Galba's colleague as consul, and Galba's freedman Icelus Martianus, were said to virtually control the emperor, even being called "the three pedagogues" because of their influence on him. All this made the new emperor gravely unpopular, and on January 15 69, Marcus Salvius Otho was proclaimed Emperor in his place. Galba was assassinated; Laco was banished to an island where he was later murdered by soldiers of Otho.
Daniel Garlitsky is descendant of a lineage of famous Russian violinists and pedagogues. His grandfather, Mikhail Garlitsky, was the founder of the "Step by step" violin method. His father, Boris, winner of the Paganini competition, served as concertmaster of the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra and later of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in Moscow, Daniel Garlitsky began his musical studies (violin and piano) at the "Specialised Gnessin School of Music" at the age of 6.
Claude Guilhot (September 2, 1929 - December 15, 1990) was a French jazz vibraphonist and drummer. Guilhot was born in Toulouse to a family of music pedagogues. Initially a professional drummer, he worked with Charles Barrié, Jacques Gauthé, and Mezz Mezzrow before switching to vibraphone late in the 1950s. He and Michel Roques shared leadership of an ensemble which included appearances from Don Byas, Buck Clayton, Bill Coleman, Sonny Grey, and Lucky Thompson.

In the aftermath of the Second World War, between c. 1948–49, a group of pedagogues and pastors, led by the pastor Charles Bergier, decided that the Lake Geneva area needed a Protestant school. Arnold Maurice Jacobs (June 11, 1915 – October 7, 1998) was an American tubist who spent most of his career with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He held that position from 1944 until his retirement in 1988. Jacobs was considered one of the foremost brass pedagogues of his time as well as an expert on breathing as it related to brasswind, woodwind, and vocal performance. Due to childhood illness and adult onset asthma, his lung capacity was significantly impaired.
Almost annually he was receiving invitation from various regional governments to head teacher summer courses and he never refused. Naumenko systematically was conducting methodic classes with pedagogues of Sunday school of the Kiev Grammar Society serving as its chairman in 1897-1907. For many years he was being invited to check knowledge of pupils of Kiev orphanages. These kind of examinations Naumenko was transforming into exemplary classes not only for students, but primarily for teachers and educators.

Jacob Praetorius or Schultz (8 February 158621 or 22 October 1651) was a German Baroque composer and organist, and the son of Hieronymus Praetorius. His grandfather, the father of Hieronymus, Jacob Praetorius the Elder (died 1586) was also a composer. As a student of Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, he was one of the most important organists and most respected pedagogues of the north German tradition before Johann Sebastian Bach. From 1603 on he was organist at the Petrikirche in Hamburg.

Vinius was commander of one of the legions in Hispania when Galba was governor there. When Galba was proclaimed emperor in 68, Vinius accompanied him to Rome, where Galba chose him to be his colleague as consul. Vinius quickly came to have great influence--indeed, it was said that he and two others, Cornelius Laco, the commander of the Praetorian Guard, and Galba's freedman Icelus Martianus, virtually controlled the emperor. De Luca was born on Christmas Day, 25 December 1876 in Rome, the son of a blacksmith. He sang in church choirs as a boy. After his voice broke, a wealthy patron paid for him to have singing lessons at the Rome Conservatory, where he studied with two top-class pedagogues, Venceslao Persichini (who also taught De Luca's fellow baritone stars Mattia Battistini and Titta Ruffo) and Antonio Cotogni. He made his operatic debut at Piacenza in 1897, singing Valentin in Gounod's Faust.

Porter was born to Joan and Richard Porter and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She played both the flute, studying with Deborah Carter Smith, and trumpet until she was 17, when she solely pursued the flute. Her parents were very supportive of her interest in music, often driving her to Philadelphia to attend concerts and rehearsals of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She later attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied with prominent pedagogues Samuel Baron and Jeanne Baxtresser.
Feliksdal began his professional dance-training in 1955 in Amsterdam. He was taught classical ballet and modern dance by well-known Dutch pedagogues such as Florrie Rodrigo, Ineke Sluiter and Lucas Hoving. To finish his training he went to Rome in 1959 to study with the Dutch dancer and teacher Pieter van der Sloot and to the Rambert School of Ballet in London for special coaching. Stewart Lynell Gordon is an American musician, teacher, writer, editor, composer, and impresario. Gordon is Professor of Keyboard Studies at the USC Thornton School of Music of the University of Southern California as well as the music faculty at the Claremont Graduate University. As a student, Stewart Gordon studied with a number of prominent pedagogues and concert artists including Olga Samaroff, Walter Gieseking, Cecile Genhart, and Adele Marcus. As a performing pianist, Gordon toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Rousseau's educational philosophy inspired ensuing pedagogues, notably Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (1746–1827), who refined Rousseau's thoughts by developing a method of holistic education, which addressed head, heart, and hands. Composers in Cleveland and around the world began to see the Cleveland Chamber Symphony as an important resource for their work and the work of their younger students. Composers of national and international stature whose works were being commissioned and performed by CCS were drawn to Cleveland as guest conductors and pedagogues. In this environment, a "New Education" that is "part and parcel of the whole social evolution" is needed. Fundamentally, education must follow larger shifts in society rather than implement isolated ideas which are "arbitrary inventions" made by "the over-ingenious minds of pedagogues" to deal with their specific challenges. Such ideas constitute "at the worst transitory fads, and at the best merely improvements in certain details." Where the learning opportunities in the home have disappeared, modern schools must now adapt to fill the gap.
Buyse first began playing the violin and piano, then switched to the flute at age nine. When she was 12, she began studying with David Berman of Ithaca College before attending the Eastman School of Music to study with Joseph Mariano in 1965. In 1968 during her time at Eastman, she received a Fulbright Scholarship to study in France with Jean- Pierre Rampal, Marcel Moyse and Michel Debost, three internationally distinguished flutists and pedagogues. Buyse graduated with Distinction and a Performer's Certificate from Eastman in 1968.

Born in Kishinev to a Ukrainian father and an Armenian mother, both pedagogues and chess coaches, Skripchenko started playing chess when she was 6 years old. In 1991, Moldova became independent from the Soviet Union. This meant that Skripchenko could take part for the first time in the World Youth Chess Championships. She was crowned World Under-16 girls champion in 1992 at Duisburg, GermanyDuisburg 1992 - 10° World Championship u16 (girls) BrasilBase and in 1993, she took the bronze medal at the World Under-18 girls championship.
Among its graduates and pedagogues are ministers, deputies of different levels, mayors, heads of large institutions, famous scientists and educators, directors of research institutes, schools, rectors of higher educational institutions, trainers and masters of sports, winners of Olympiads, recognized artists who made an invaluable contribution to the development of education and science worldwide. Telakowska went on to found Warsaw's Institute of Industrial Design (Instytut Wzornictwa Przemyslowego, or IWP) in 1950 and served as its first director. The IWP was state-funded, organized within the Ministry of Culture and Art. In this role, she "invited artists, ethnographers, art historians, pedagogues, sociologists, and enthusiasts of folk art to contribute to her institute's efforts to develop new forms of sociologist culture in collaboration with working women, peasants, and youth." Her educational career spans over 50 years in China and her students occupy influential positions throughout the music world and won international competition prize constantly. As a distinguished soloist and one of the most influential pedagogues, she motivated millions people to study western classical music and hence influenced generations of Chinese people.
The athletics teams of Minnesota State University, Mankato have changed over the years. Initially as a teacher preparatory college there was no formal mascot until the 1920s when the nickname the "peds" was used to refer to the pedagogues an informal reference to teachers. In the 1950s the mascot the Indians were adopted, but this was dropped in 1976 due to the fact that Native American groups saw this as not representative of their culture. During 1977 there was a competition to come up with a new mascot.
All human voices can produce vibrato. This vibrato can be varied in width (and rapidity) through training. In opera, as opposed to pop, vibrato begins at the start of the note and continues to the end of the note with slight variations in width during the note. Traditionally, however, the deliberate cultivation of a particularly wide, pervasive vibrato by opera singers from the Latin countries has been denounced by English-speaking music critics and pedagogues as a technical fault and a stylistic blot (see Scott, cited below, Volume 1, pp. 123–127).
These academics were initially inspired by feminist scholarship outside of rhetoric and composition studies, but eventually developed a distinctive school within this tradition. This is often done via private or semiprivate instructions, commonly referred to as piano lessons. The practitioners of piano pedagogy are called piano pedagogues, or simply, piano teachers.
Paedology (paidology, paedology) is the study of children's behavior and development (as distinct from pedagogy, the art or science of teaching, and pediatrics, the field of medicine relating to children). Pedology is not commonly recognized as a distinct field of study; therefore, many people who would be described as pedologists are instead described as pedagogues, psychologists, pediatricians, etc. Another factor that contributes to paedology's lack of recognition as a distinct field of study is because one could make contributions to the field of pedology while also making contributions to other fields. In 1927, the Milwaukee Normal School became the Milwaukee State Teachers College and adopted its first official nickname, the "Green Gulls". The name was chosen because the students were often greeted by seagulls from nearby Lake Michigan as they returned to campus in the fall. They were also referred to as the "Peds" (short for "pedagogues"), a common nickname for teachers colleges at the time. Herman Kluge, an East Milwaukee native and former Green Gull football player who graduated from Milwaukee State in 1928, returned to his alma mater as head coach in 1931.
As a speaker, he was unpretentious and uncharismatic, but his sincerity and capacity for organization inspired others. Ferrer followed in a rough and ready Spanish tradition of extragovernment, rationalist education: the republicans and Fourierists schools (1840–50s), the anarchist and secularist schools (1870–80s), Paul Robin's Cempuis orphanage, Elías Puig (Catalonia), and José Sanchez Rosa (Andalusia). Ferrer's libertarian pedagogy also borrowed from 18th century rationalism, 19th century romanticism, and pedagogues including Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Froebel, Kropotkin, and Tolstoy. This tradition pursued freewheeling liberties for children at the expense of conformity, regulation, and discipline.
Ferrer's pedagogy descended from a libertarian pedagogical tradition from 18th century rationalism and 19th century romanticism, with pedagogues including Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Froebel, Kropotkin, and Tolstoy. These influences advocated learning through experience and treating children with love and warmth. By removing the influence of the church and state from mass education, they argued, the enlightened public would upend the status quo. A free education, to Ferrer, entailed educators who would use improvised experimentation and spontaneity—rather than their own formal dogma—to arouse the child's will and autodidactic drive.

Through the Center, hundreds of Israel schoolchildren—native Israelis, immigrants from the former Soviet Union, and children of immigrants of Ashkenazic and Sephardic heritage—learn to speak Yiddish and appreciate Yiddish culture. Suleyman Rustam was born on March 12, 1906 in Novxanı village in family of a blacksmith. He studied at Russo-Tatar school until revolution. Suleyman Rustam wrote that, Suleyman Sani Akhundov, who was the headmaster and pedagogue at the school evoked his interest to literature and such famous pedagogues as M.Vezirov, R.Tahirov and A.Israfilbeyli strengthened this interest. After he entered Baku Electric Technical School and then to the eastern faculty of Baku State University where his classmates were Jafar Jabbarly, A.Badalbeyli, V.Khuluflu and was taught by such pedagogue as the eminent writer Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev.
The Yiddish department in Central were led mainly by Lidski, whose editor was the writer David Kassel. The Hebrew department was directed by Ben Avigdor. The unified publishing company, situated on 7 Nowolipki St., published works of the greatest Yiddish and Hebrew writers, historians and pedagogues, as well as a series of children's books, a series of books for young adults and textbooks and readers. Central was the first Jewish publishing house to establish ties with Jewish communities outside of Russia (including the U.S.) and disseminate its books worldwide.
Dispokinesis was developed more than 45 years ago in the environment of the Sweelinck-Conservatory, Amsterdam. Its founder, Gerrit Onne van de Klashorst (Netherlands), was a pianist and physiotherapist. Ratusha, the city's main landmark Ivan Franko Beginning in 1944 it was a part of the Soviet Union. The Soviets forced most of the Polish population to leave the city, most of them settled in the Recovered Territories. During the post-war period the city was part of the Carpathian Military District housing the 38th Army (70th Motor Rifle Division) that participated in the Operation Dunai. On March 1, 1945 with the help of the documents of regional state archives the Stanislav regional extraordinary commission in the investigation of Nazi crimes composed lists of executed pedagogues of Stanislav in 1941.
From 1923 to 1935 he was professor for flute at the Eastman School of Music, where one of his students was Julius Baker, considered one of the greatest American flutist of his generation. After his retirement, De Lorenzo focused on composition and writing of theoretical publications. Works such as Saltarello and Pizzica-pizzica are a homage to the characteristic sounds of the traditional music of his native town. In 1951 he released the book My complete story of the flute, a result of intensive research by De Lorenzo which made him one of the most eminent flute pedagogues of the 20th century.
Narodnaya Shkola (, School for the People) was a pedagogical fortnightly published in Saint Petersburg in 1869–1889. The journal's objective was providing the teachers, mostly in the Russian province, with the new methodological and theoretical materials, as well as keeping a general view on the state of school education in Imperial Russia. The magazine was edited first by Fyodor Mednikov (1869—1877), then by Vasily Yevtushevski and Alexander Pyatkovsky (1878—1882), then by Pyatkovsky alone. The best Russian practicing pedagogues and theoreticians contributed to Narodnaya Shkola, including Fyodor Rezener, Vasily Vodovozov, Vladimir von Boole, Nikolai Bunakov and Dmitry Semyonov.

Children's houses and fosters for teenagers were set up to receive the orphans who had escaped the genocide. Pedagogues, educators, leaders and inspectors were trained to deal with accepting the children.
Arthur William Poister (June 13, 1898 – February 25, 1980)North Carolina, Death Indexes, 1908-2004 was an eminent American organist, who was especially renowned as one of the country's leading pedagogues of future generations of musicians. Arthur Poister served as music director at Syracuse University's Hendricks Chapel from 1948 to 1965, and as organ professor from 1948 to 1967. Decades earlier, he taught for nearly twenty years at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where a large number of famous organists studied with him during their collegiate years. He also was a professor at the University of Redlands around the year 1933.
It wasn't until 1920 that the UCA athletic teams had a mascot. According to Dr. Ted Worley, author of A History of The Arkansas State Teachers College, the UCA teams from 1908 to 1919 were referred to by many names, including: Tutors, Teachers, Pedagogues, Pea-Pickers, and Normalites. In 1920 the Bears became the mascot for the teams. However, it wasn’t until April 7, 1921, that the teams were called the "Bears" in print. Dr. Worley also quoted sources as saying the Bear was an appropriate symbol for the school because Arkansas’ nickname was the "Bear State".
Together with other pianists and piano pedagogues - mostly students of Deppe, such as Amy Fay, Elisabeth Caland, Hermann Klose and Horace F. Clark-Steiniger - Bandmann made a decisive contribution to the transformation of piano technique from the "finger technique" to the "weight technique": a transformation that took place at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century and had its most important supporters (although often with the most different positions) in Rudolf Maria Breithaupt in Germany, Blanche Selva in France, Tobias Matthay in England and in Italy. Bandmann died in Hamburg at the age of 69.
In 1882, she published Realism i undervisning eller Språkkunskap och bildning under the same pseudonym, which aroused great attention. This is seen as the starting point which connected the various critical reform pedagogues of the late 19th century in Sweden and united them to an educational reform. The author was assumed to be a respected male academic, and by referring to "Uffe" (which was in fact herself), Sandström founded the a literary discussion group named Uffe-kretsen (Uffe Circle) of educational reformers, active in 1883–1892. Leading members were Fredrique Runquist, Fridtjuv Berg, Hjalmar Berg, Sigfrid Almquist, Sofi Almquist and Nils Lagerstedt.

Güher and Süher Pekinel have also pioneered three significant music education projects. Their first project aims to further professional music education in Turkey to meet international standards. Entitled “Young Musicians on World Stages”, the project, sponsored by Turkish firm Koç / TÜPRAŞ, supports twelve young musicians by granting them qualitatively instruments and scholarships to study with distinguished musicians and pedagogues in Europe and to participate in international music competitions. Within five years, the scholars have been awarded seven first prizes and four second prizes at international competitions. Pekinel's received the best social responsibility award for their “Young Musicians on World Stages” project in 2011.
Pierre Bovet (left) and Jean Piaget in front of the Rousseau Institute in Geneva, 1925 The IBE was a private organization created in 1925 by prominent psychologists and pedagogues in Geneva, including Edouard Claparède, Adolphe Ferrière and Pierre Bovet, the latter of whom served as the Director of the IBE from 1925-1929. Initially, the IBE was a small non-governmental organization focused on public and private education, and scientific research. During this time, an external initiative committee consisting of notable academics, educators and thinkers of the day, including Albert Einstein, provided support to the organization. In 1929, it became the first intergovernmental organization dedicated to the field of education.
Since that time, she has held faculty positions at the New England Conservatory, Boston University, University of Michigan, and numerous summer festivals including the Tanglewood Institute. She was awarded the National Flute Association's Lifetime Achievement Award for significant and outstanding contributions to the global flute community in 2010. Buyse is recognized as one of the foremost flute pedagogues in America, and the international community. Her students hold positions in major US and North American orchestras, as well as teaching positions at universities such as the University of Texas at Austin, University of Colorado at Boulder, and St. Olaf College, in addition to many others.
From September 1962 to September 1963 he was the first Azerbaijani interpreter who worked in construction of Aswan dam in Egypt (UAR). Having learnt local dialect in a year he also collected rich scientific literature in Arabic. Upon return to his motherland he started teaching Egyptian dialect first time in Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University) and due to his scientific interest toward books obtained about Eastern philosophy began working in Philosophy section of Azerbaijan AS (now Institute of Philosophy and Law of ANAS). Mammadov died on March 2, 2003. Mammadov's life and writings were broadly depicted in Orkhan Mammadov's book titled ‘Agdam’s renowned pedagogues and scholars’.
Marius Petipa was born Victor Marius Alphonse Petipa in Marseilles, France on 11 March 1818. His mother, Victorine Grasseau, was a tragic actress and teacher of drama, while his father, Jean-Antoine Petipa, was among the most renowned Ballet Masters and pedagogues in Europe. At the time of Marius's birth, Jean Petipa was engaged as Premier danseur (Principal Male Dancer) to the Salle Bauveau (known today as the Opéra de Marseille), and in 1819 he was appointed Maître de ballet to that theatre. Marius Petipa spent his early childhood traveling throughout Europe with his family, as his parents' professional engagements took them from city to city.
In 1972 Zlatina Deliradeva became Conductor-in-Chief of the Detska Kitka Choir of Plovdiv, Bulgaria and her artistic biography has been closely linked with this choir. In the ensuing decades, Prof. Deliradeva consolidated the choir as one of the leading Bulgarian choral ensembles, winning a series of national and international awards from choral competitions and festivals across Eastern and Western Europe. Zlatina Deliradeva is a professor of Choral Conducting at the Plovdiv Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts and one of the leading conducting pedagogues in the country. Between 1999 and 2008 she was the Academy’s Vice-Rector of Artistic Affairs and Postgraduate Studies. Prof.
In Saifores, Mata also began her collaboration with the first groups of teachers involved in the pedagogical renovation movement that promoted Spanish education during the Second Republic, and with the resurgence of schools that proposed a renewal of education in Catalan. She also contacted the pedagogues Alexandre Galí, Artur Martorell, and Jordi Rubió, of whom she considered herself a disciple. In 1959 she traveled to Geneva for the first time and contacted the International Bureau of Education, where she met the pedagogue . She also began working as a pedagogical consultant for the Catalan publishers Nova Terra and La Galera, and the recently created children's magazine Cavall Fort.
According to a 1914 newspaper report, the Munkacser Rebbe intended that each homeowner would also have room for a small vegetable garden in front of his apartment. Batei Munkacs synagogue The neighborhood regulations, approved and signed by the Munkacser Rebbe during his visit to Palestine in 1930, sought to maintain the integrity of the neighborhood as a Hasidic enclave. Residents were required to wear Hasidic dress (levush), and were not allowed to shave their beards or payot (sidelocks). Like members of other Hasidic sects in Palestine, the Munkacser Hasidim were enjoined to send their children to Haredi schools, and not to schools run by Zionist pedagogues.
This embouchure method, advocated by a minority of brass pedagogues such as Jerome Callet, has not yet been sufficiently researched to support the claims that this system is the most effective approach for all brass performers. Advocates of Callet's approach believe that this method was recommended and taught by the great brass instructors of the early 20th century. Two French trumpet technique books, authored by Jean-Baptiste Arban and Saint-Jacome, were translated into English for use by American players. According to some, due to a misunderstanding arising from differences in pronunciation between French and English, the commonly used brass embouchure in Europe was incorrectly interpreted.
Aaron Copland was referred to by his peers and critics as "the Dean of American Composers" During the colonial era, there were two distinct fields of what is now considered classical music. One was associated with amateur composers and pedagogues, whose style was originally drawn from simple hymns and gained sophistication over time. The other colonial tradition was that of the mid-Atlantic cities like Philadelphia and Baltimore, which produced a number of prominent composers who worked almost entirely within the European model; these composers were mostly English in origin, and worked specifically in the style of prominent English composers of the day.Struble, p. 4–5.

Nilson published a method for the pedal keyboard, the English translation of which was titled A System of Technical Studies in Pedal Playing for the Organ (Schirmer, 1904). Nilson lamented that it "...is a melancholy fact that only very few eminent organists since Bach's time have made it their business to lift pedal-playing out of its primitive confusion..." (page 1 of Preface). He argued that the great organ pedagogues such as Kittel and Abbe Vogler did not make any efforts to improve the "...system of playing on the pedals".

Anna Sandström was a board member of the Pedagogiska sällskapet (Pedagogue Society) in 1892–1902. She was a frequent and leading participant in the national Flickskolemöten (Girl School meetings) for teachers and reform pedagogues, which were held in Sweden in 1879-1901 to discuss issued regarding female education, which were managed by girl schools until the introduction of co-education.
Castillo was born into a musical family; both of his parents were classical musicians and pedagogues, his father a violinist and his mother a pianist. Early in his life Castillo defined his aspirations to pursue a career in music as his parents had done. He was a childhood friend of Horacio Salinas who also originated from his hometown; who would also go on to join the neo-folkloric New Chilean Song movement that aimed to renovate Chilean folklore. Castillo was educated in Santiago and in 1963 he began to study classical guitar at the National Conservatorium of Music which would later become part of the University of Chile.

For Helmut Kentler, theory and practice belonged closely together throughout his life. His insights into a theory of emancipatory youth work grew out of his work with adolescents and young adults during his studies and the five years he spent working in church educational institutions. He made it possible to experience in theory and practice what group pedagogy and what team work as a trusting and respectful cooperation of pedagogues with different professional competence and what insight into psychosocial connections means for the learning and emancipation process for young people and adults.See: Youth work in the industrial world – Consequences for youth work This was an innovation for church educational work in the 1960s.
Returning to Poland, Lockhart began to collaborate with Milena – a young woman who she befriended in Łódź during the production of Podwórka and had since stayed in contact with. This collaboration resulted in the production of a series of photographs as well as the film Antoine/Milena (2015) in which Milena reenacts the iconic final scene from François Truffaut's The 400 Blows. Through this collaboration, Lockhart was introduced to the residents of the Youth Center for Sociotherapy in Rudzienko, Poland – the state-run institution for girls where Milena lived. Over the course of three summers, Lockhart, together with movement therapists, philosophers, theater directors, and pedagogues, would conduct a series of generative workshops with the girls of the Center.

Movement directors today emerge from a rich heritage of movement pedagogues and practitioners. French director and practitioner Jacques Lecoq, and movement theorist and pedagogue Rudolf Laban offer important influences. Many of their students and contemporaries became influential teachers of movement and movement directors in British theatre, often influenced by and interweaving with the lineage of contemporary dance as influenced by Laban, and the heritage of social and cultural dances.
To provide for a teacher's payment, a form was circulated around Romney and each parent indicated on the paper how many of their children would attend the school and the type of payment the teacher would expect, whether in the form of cash renumeration, produce, or boarding. These early teachers were usually "wandering pedagogues, settling wherever they could obtain enough signers to insure a living". By the time the surveyors on behalf of Lord Fairfax had laid out the town of Romney in 1762, the log school was still in existence along with other public buildings. The most important scientific studies at the University were carried out in the framework of seventeen internationally recognized scientific schools. The results of the University studies are reflected in printed works – more than two thousand scientific papers are annually published at home and foreign editing houses.
The International Film Festival Etiuda&Anima; (), is the leading animation film festival in Poland organized in Kraków continuously since 1994, and catering to independent producers, animation films professionals, and students of film and art schools from all over the world. Since 2010 the festival has also included workshops in scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, editing and animation, led by renown artists and pedagogues from foreign film schools.
