Helcionellaceans are characterised by cap-shaped to bellerophontiform shells; commonly with strong rugae, (transverse plications) clearly defined on both the interior and exterior of the shell; with a septum or septa partitioning off the apex, but lacking the anal emargination that is characteristic of the Bellerophontacea.

The British response to guerrilla warfare was to set up complex nets of blockhouses, strongpoints, and barbed wire fences, partitioning off the entire conquered territory. In addition, civilian farms and livestock were destroyed as part of a scorched earth policy. Survivors were forced into concentration camps. Very large proportions of these civilians died of hunger and disease, especially the children.

They were the first European Americans to settle there. In the same year, James W. Casey and John Vanatta came to the area. They opened a supply depot for steamboats on June 1, 1833, and named it Casey’s Woodpile (since steamboats used wood as fuel). Muscatine County officially became a part of Iowa Territory on July 4, 1836, when Iowa Territory was established by partitioning off this area from Wisconsin Territory.

The toilet block has a concrete floor, and four cubicles with timber partitions. A sanitary service passage is located behind the cubicles, but the doorway providing access has been sheeted over with corrugated iron. A part of a knight's gravestone, bearing part of a sword, has been found built into the church walls. The abandoned church saw some degree of maintenance over the years and in 1955 the walls were in good condition and showed signs of being cared for. The church interior was used for burials in the 19th century with the addition of the Barochan Aisle, iron railings partitioning off the east end and plaques mounted on the walls in several places. However the effect of the elements in this exposed location together with plant growth was causing serious damage and an extensive restoration project was undertaken and completed by 2014.

The original kitchen, now the dining room, had faux-oak cabinets that were moved to a newly constructed hallway made by partitioning off the old kitchen with built-in cabinets with glass doors. The tin ceilings, chandeliers, and fluted Doric columns in the opening between the parlor and library were most likely added by Carrie and Frank Redington in a remodeling of the home, possibly as late as 1906, after the death of Moses Foster. Frank owned a furniture store on Silver Street where he was found dead on February 14, 1923, by a gun wound to his head, reported as self-inflicted. A newspaper reported that Frank had been ill for many years.

Most systems of the era had limited resolution due to the expense of the buffer needed to hold higher resolution images, but this was eliminated in the 4050s and allowed the resolution to be as high as the hardware could handle, which was ostensibly 1024 by 1024 but limited by the physical layout of the screen to 1024 by 780. It also allowed the machine to dedicate all of its memory to the programs running on it, as opposed to partitioning off a section for the buffer. The first model, the 4051, was based on 8-bit Motorola 6800 running at a 1 MHz. It normally shipped with 8 KB of RAM and was expandable using 8 KB modules to 32 KB. The remaining 32 KB of address space was reserved for ROM, which could be expanded using two external ROM cartridge of 8 KB each.
