The band, from the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment based in Osnabrück, West Germany, was about to perform a concert as the bomb was planted underneath the open-air stage. Only some of the band's 30 members had already arrived, as the others were lucky enough to have been stuck in city traffic. Also, injuries were lessened and fatalities avoided since the band's members were dressing, away from the stage, at the time of the explosion. The bombing happened during while the city was celebrating its millennium.
The Cap Roig Festival, is a music and dance festival held in the Gardens of Cap Roig, in Calella de Palafrugell. Since 2001 it is celebrated annually, and all kinds of national and international artists participate. On 7 February 1928, Salacgriva gained a status of a town. Changes in economic life took place under the Soviet rule, when a fish processing plant, whose construction was initially intended for Ainaži, was built in Salacgriva and the fishing artel "Brivais vilnis" was established in Salacgriva. Due to evolution of fishing industry, the port was renovated and an open-air stage was built to celebrate the well-known festival - fisherman's Day (named Sea festival from 2001). Today, Salacgriva is a growing provincial town of Latvia.
Mežaparks Great Bandstand in 1955 The Mežaparks Great Bandstand (), also called the Song Festival Bandstand, Open-Air Stage (), is a large open-air bandstand in the Mežaparks neighborhood of Riga, the capital of Latvia. The bandstand has added cultural value to Riga since 1955, when the Latvian Song and Dance Festival was moved to this venue. The bandstand was erected according to a project by architect and civil engineer Vladimir Schnitnikov. It lies in the northern part of Mežaparks, an area that mostly consists of pine forest.
Refresh is an annual music festival held in Maximus discothèque in Kotor, Montenegro. It started in 2007 and is hosted in July / August. It usually has 2 stages (a DJ and a Hip Hop stage), but the 2008 edition included a 3rd, open-air stage for live performances by Ex-Yu bands. Among the most world- popular artists that performed at this festival are Bob Sinclar, Hernan Cattaneo, Sharam, Darren Emerson, Ian Pooley... 2019 Layout of the Kindl-Bühne Wuhlheide The Kindl-Bühne Wuhlheide (English: Wuhlheide Kindl Stage) is a cultural heritage site in Berlin which serves as an open-air performance venue in the shape of an amphitheater. It is part of Volkspark Wuhlheide (English: Wuhlheide Public Park) in the Berlin- Oberschöneweide neighborhood in the district of Bezirk Treptow-Köpenick. The Kindl-Bühne has a non-seated spectator capacity of 17,000 and a seated capacity of 15,300. It is the second-largest open-air stage in Berlin, trailing only the Waldbühne in size.

Two months later in July, she was in Kiev at the Apollo Garden Theatre. Located at 8 Meringovskaya St, a three-story stone building, known as the Noble Club, housed the Apollo restaurant with its open-air stage that showcased variety, opera and theatrical productions daily. The following month, she arrived in Latvia just outside the capital of Riga in the seaside resort town of Jūrmala. On 9 August 2003, an open-air stage located 350 ft from the sea on the sands of the Marina called Seerani Arangam, constructed in 1970, which was used by religious groups and political parties to address gatherings, was demolished by the state government in order to modernise the beach. This spot was a place where rallies were held for the freedom movement during the British Raj, and the stage was considered a symbol of the historical events that had taken place in the Marina. This created a great controversy.
In only its second year the number of attendees at the festival was more than double that of the first, with a total of 40.000 and over the following years it would could continue to increase. Many fans of the original Frequency festival were disappointed about it becoming just another huge mainstream festival, and so Musicnet tried to reestablish the situation of 2002. Wittek had previously appeared in a performance of List's Der Wala Erweckung and had publicly recited some of his poetry. Following their marriage, List devoted himself fully to drama, authoring the plays König Vannius ("King Vannius") in 1899, Sommer-Sonnwend-Feuerzauber ("Summer Solstice Fire Magic") in 1901 and Das Goldstück ("The Gold Coin") in 1903. He also authored a pamphlet titled Der Wiederaufbau von Carnuntum ("The Reconstruction of Carnuntum") in 1900, in which he called for the reconstruction of the ancient Roman amphitheatre at Carnuntum as an open-air stage through which Wotanism could be promoted.

Rock Werchter 2010 The festival started off as a one-day event, then named "Torhout-Werchter" festival, becoming a two-day festival in 1996, a 3-day festival in 2000, and a 4-day festival named "Rock Werchter" since 2003. Before 1995, when the festival was still a double-festival, it had one stage with 8 or 9 bands performing twice, once in Torhout and once in Werchter. Live from Loreley is a live album by the British neo-progressive rock band Marillion, recorded at a concert at the Freilichtbühne Loreley (Open-Air Stage) Loreley, St. Goarshausen, Germany on 18 July 1987. The recording, made during the first leg of the 1987 Clutching at Straws tour, documents the band at the peak of their commercial success in the 1980s when they had original frontman Fish on vocals. Inner castle gate - east side The keep of the Altes Schloss towers above the surrounding houses and market square in the upper part of the Kneipp spa of Bad Berneck. To the west at the foot of the castle the roadbed of the historic road, the Via Imperii still climbs up the hill. A free car park (am Anger) is located on the outskirts of Berneck on the B2 federal road from where the castle is a 15-minute walk along the footpath. The town's open-air stage lies immediately to the north, beneath the castle ruins.

Lēdurga is a village and the center of Lēdurga parish in Krimulda Municipality, Latvia. The village is located on both sides of the river Aģe, 18 km away from the municipality of Ragana and 64 km from Riga, the capital of Latvia. Lēdurga consists of parish administration, elementary school, House of Culture, sport center, Lēdurga's Lutheran church, dendrological park and open- air stage. Lēdurga is the birthplace of the Baltic German activist and writer Garlieb Merkel, the author of Die Letten ("The Latvians"), the book which first drew attention to the Latvians as more than just peasants.
In early 1969, Scruggs formed the Earl Scruggs Revue, consisting of two of his sons, Randy (guitar) and Gary (bass) and later Vassar Clements (fiddle), Josh Graves (Dobro) and Scruggs' youngest son, Steve (drums). On November 15, 1969, Scruggs performed live with the newly formed group on an open-air stage in Washington, D.C. at the Moratorium to End the War in Vietnam. Scruggs was one of the few bluegrass or country artists to give support to the anti-war movement. A series of well-known dramatic monthly evening performances of wayang wong from the Ramayana is performed all year round at the Prambanan temple near Yogyakarta. The most complete Ramayana wayang wong involving more than a hundred dancers, artists and gamelan musicians is performed only during the dry season (usually May to October) on a large, open-air stage with the Prambanan Trimurti temples as the background. During the monsoon rainy season, however, the performance is moved into a smaller indoor theatre nearby. In downtown Yogyakarta, on the eastern side of Keraton Yogyakarta, the Ramayana wayang wong is also performed every night, starting at 8 p.m.

The beautification programme led to a very new look for the ground, which now boasts of a very green lawn, a walkway, a parking lot, an open-air stage with state-of-the-art facilities and huge light towers.
Their tour took them to front line bases such as Landing Zone (LZ) Ross, Danang, where in November 1967, during a performance on an open-air stage, they were subject to a mortar attack by the Viet Cong who were just 200 yards away. The band had to cut short their set and were dragged into bunkers by the soldiers. They remained there until they could be choppered out to safety. In 1959 the House of Culture () was built, which hosts the Příbram theatre and includes a cinema hall (the only other cinema is the open-air stage, while two pre-1989 more cinema-halls were closed). The first cinema productions were however held in Příbram as early as in 1914. In 2006, the competition was one of the central events of the Year of Mozart and to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the pieces performed by the finalists were restricted to Mozart or pieces from his contemporaries. Between 2006 and 2012, the competition was the opening event of one of the largest festivals in Europe, Vienna Festival and was held on an open-air stage for the first time. The 2018 contest was hosted by the BBC in partnership and as a highlight of the annual Edinburgh International Festival. Montevideo Carnival: drummers "Zonal queens" As the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo is home to a number of festivals and carnivals including a Gaucho festival when people ride through the streets on horseback in traditional gaucho gear. The major annual festival is the annual Montevideo Carnival which is part of the national festival of Carnival Week, celebrated throughout Uruguay, with central activities in the capital, Montevideo. Officially, the public holiday lasts for two days on Carnival Monday and Shrove Tuesday preceding Ash Wednesday, but due to the prominence of the festival, most shops and businesses close for the entire week. During carnival there are many open-air stage performances and competitions and the streets and houses are vibrantly decorated.

Santarita (2013), Revisiting Swarnabhumi/dvipa: Indian Influences in Ancient Southeast Asia The Balinese kecak dance for example, retells the story of the Ramayana, with dancers playing the roles of Rama, Sita, Lakhsmana, Jatayu, Hanuman, Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Indrajit surrounded by a troupe of over 50 bare- chested men who serve as the chorus chanting "cak". The performance also includes a fire show to describe the burning of Lanka by Hanuman. In Yogyakarta, the Wayang Wong Javanese dance also retells the Ramayana. One example of a dance production of the Ramayana in Java is the Ramayana Ballet performed on the Trimurti Prambanan open air stage, with the three main prasad spires of the Prambanan Hindu temple as a backdrop.

Concerts were performed with the participation of composers like Raimonds Pauls, Zigmars Liepiņš, Valts Pūce, the directed string orchestra by Andris Veismanis, opera singer Evija Martinsone, as well with singers like Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Andris Ērglis, Rolands Ūdris, Artis Dvarionas, kokles player Laima Jansone, music band Remix, and other familiar musicians at the Dzintari Concert Hall, Cēsis Castle Park, and at the Liepāja "Put vejini" open-air stage. After winning The New Singer Competition "Jūrmala-86" until 1989, when Igo went to the U.S., a broad concert cooperation took part at that time, and popularity in Russia as well.
In 2014 was held 4th International Mime Festival and in the program were included illusionists, living statues and sand painting. During the Festivals of 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 participated theatre groups and solo artists from Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Russia, Latvia, USA, France, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, Japan, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Iran, Thailand, South Africa, Argentina, as well as Armenian theatre and circus groups, bands, fire shows, youth groups. The performances are played on open air stage in the central square or just in the street and are free for the audience. The initiators are always filled with the enthusiasm of organizing an art holiday for tourists, for Tshaghkadzor population and for the active youth - enjoying their summer time.
The bird park comprises a large number of internal and external aviaries as well as outdoor enclosures. In addition the visitor can meet birds in an environment modelled on their natural habitat with no artificial barriers both in a free flight aviary with sand dunes and a wave machine, as well as in numerous buildings, such as the Jungle Hall. Whilst the more recent areas of the bird park are based more on the natural environment of the birds, the older areas mainly consist of spacious parkland and woods including large rose and rhododendron beds. One special attraction is the variety of flight demonstrations on an open-air stage where, not only are falcons and eagles displayed as in other shows, but parrots, pelicans and Indian Runner ducks too.

Route of 70000 Tons of Metal 2015 The fifth edition of 70000 Tons of Metal took place on January 22 – 26, 2015, sailing from Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Ocho Rios, Jamaica on board the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas. 3000 tickets were available to the public and 60 artists performed on board, each band playing two sets. Four stages were constructed for the event to accommodate the additional 20 artists, which included stages in the Platinum Theatre, the Sphinx Lounge, Studio B, and the Pool Deck which hosts the "Biggest Open Air Stage to Sail the Seas". Over 70 countries were represented by the fans on board in 2015, making 70000 Tons of Metal, according to the "Skipper", Andy Piller, the "United Nations of Metal at Sea".

Since 2008, Montrose has hosted the Montrose Music Festival or Mo Fest as it has affectionately become known, which takes place each year at the end of May. It has grown in size and stature each year to become Scotland's biggest free live music festival with over 200 free gigs played over the three days in over 26 venues across the town, including an open-air stage on Montrose's historic High street with the dominating Montrose Steeple behind the stage which draws crowds of all ages from all over the country. In 2014 the MoFest team took a leap and hosted a gig on Montrose East Links to 5000 revelers on the Friday night which kicked off the 7th annual festival with rock legends Status Quo playing to the sell-out crowd. Other Notable Headliners who have played at the festival include Average White Band, Deacon Blue, The Proclaimers, Ocean Colour Scene, Toploader, Eddi Reader, Bryan Adams, The Beach Boys & Madness.
