In France, "Physical" entered the singles chart at number 97, and in its 15th week, the song reached number 30. The Hwasa remix peaked at number 127 on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. In Australia, "Physical" debuted at number 30 on the ARIA Singles Chart issue dated 16 February 2020. Following Future Nostalgias release, the song rose to a peak of number nine on the chart, while "Don't Start Now" and "Break My Heart" charted at number three and six, respectively.

The Special Edition of the "Viajero Frecuente" album released also in México featured a duet with Spanish singer-songwriter sensation Alejandro Sanz (Nostalgias). In October 2016, "Ida y Vuelta" was released, containing 20 songs, of which 11 were written by him. This album is different because he sang nine songs written by well known Mexican singers; in return, those Mexican singers sang some of Montaner's songs, all in the same album. A month later, Montaner received the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

In September 2020, Callie Ahlgrim of Business Insider named "Levitating" one of the best songs of 2020 at the times, labelling it Future Nostalgias "most enchanting track" and one of Lipa's "best ever" songs. She went on to praise it for getting better with every listen and her use of pet-names, as well as calling the song "sugary", "upbeat", and "unabashed". The Blessed Madonna's remix of "Levitating" was met with mixed reviews from music critics. In Rolling Stone, Brittany Spanos viewed the Blessed Madonna "Levitating" remix as "tongue-twistingly", a "fast-paced romp", and "clubbier" than the original, while also labelling Elliott's verse "flirty" and "freaky".

The Blessed Madonna performing in 2018 On 18 June 2020, it was reported that Lipa was filming a music video for Future Nostalgias next single, and that her boyfriend, Anwar Hadid, would portray her love interest in the video due to social distancing protocols associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The video was filmed in mid- June 2020 at a studio in London. The video was later revealed to be The Blessed Madonna's "Levitating" remix, and premiered at 05:00 PT (12:00 UTC) on 14 August 2020. The music video was directed by Will Hooper and includes appearances from Lipa, Elliott, and Hadid, with both The Blessed Madonna and Madonna being absent.

The song was later confirmed to be the lead single of Lipa and The Blessed Madonna's remix album, Club Future Nostalgia. The song premiered at 09:00 PT (16:00 UTC) on 13 August 2020, being released for digital download and streaming. Both the remix and original version were serviced to contemporary hit radio formats in Italy the same day, making the original version Future Nostalgias fifth single. The remix was also released on 12-inch vinyl on 21 August 2020 by We Still Believe, an independent label owned by The Blessed Madonna. On 25 September 2020, DaBaby confirmed in an interview with Capital FM that he had a collaboration with Lipa coming out soon.

After choosing "Hallucinate" as Future Nostalgias fourth single, Lipa approached production company The Mill and director Lisha Tan with a 2D animated music video idea for the song, inspired by the 1970s disco heyday, with "the wacky characters, different rooms, diverse color palettes and a sense of never knowing which direction the psychedelic journey will take you on." Tan then took the treatment began looking at iconic photos from the disco aesthetic of the 1970s and Studio 54, compiling references and inspirations from the debauched behavior and crazy costumes everyone was wearing. They also were inspired by psychedelic themes, creating "dream" and "nightmare" sequences and imagining what would go in them. Tan additionally based much of the video on the track's lyrics, where she listened to the song at least 20 times to absorb the meaning.

Very early in his career Arroyo incurred into the literary world through poetry with his books Para Aprisionar Nostalgias (To imprison Nostalgia) in 1983, which won him the :es:Premio Joven Creación (Young Creation Award), given by the National Authors Association of Costa Rica and the Editorial Costa Rica, and Cuerpo de mimbre (Body of Osier) in 1984, which won the UNA Palabra Award given by the National University of Costa Rica. At the same time he starts to write for the stage. From his earliest productions his plays have generated praise among audiences and critics. His first comedy L’ ánima sola de Chico Muñoz (The Forlorn Soul of Chico Muñoz) (1985) became Costa Rica's longest-running play for many years. His work generated great demand and in 1986 his play La chupeta electrónica (The Electronic Pacifier) was another audience success, followed in 1987 by Con la honra en el alambre (Virtue Hanging by a Thread) based on Maupassant’s short story Le Rosier de Madame Husson.

Slap the Monster on Page One (Italian: Sbatti il mostro in prima pagina) is a 1972 Italian drama film directed by Marco Bellocchio. It depicts the daily life of a fictitious Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale (The Journal). The newspaper caters to a conservative, fascist, borgeouis public and its chief- editor Bizanti tries in all manners to give a right-wing slant even to the most trivial news items, while at the same time edulcorating and desensitizing the thornier issues, such as unemployment, police brutality and so on. The whole editorial staff is thrown in a tantrum when a young girl is found raped and killed, going as far as soliciting death penalty nostalgias (capital punishment has been abolished in Italy since the fall of Fascism) and to actually derail the investigation leading the police to a false culprit: a young left-wing student which becomes the "ideal" scapegoat for the newspaper's prejudiced readership.
