In 1999, Evans started the AET Audio Engineering Program, with the intentions of teaching his audio engineering techniques to new and upcoming music artists and producers. In 2004, Evans introduced his latest brainchild "The Gift Of Song". A service that reached out to non-professionals and gave them a shot in the 'studio'.
Due to this, both organisation and races were simply informally called "Veedol-Cup" for many years. Since the change of sponsorship and the official recognition by Deutscher Motor Sport Bund (DMSB) as the German endurance championship (German Meisterschaft) in 2001, the former Veedol Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring was the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. The name of the VLN organisation stays the same, though, which is reflected by their website addresses and title. Apart from the 24 Hours, the Rundstrecken Challenge Nürburgring (RCN/CHC) and GLP are related smaller events dedicated to non- professionals.
Other deaths have occurred as Somali reporters travel to press conferences and are ambushed. The Association has released information on its self-imposed exile as numerous other groups found themselves in need of an organization to advocate for them. Reporters, radio and television presenters, writers' groups, media owners, communications professionals and non-professionals, academic public relations staff, and advertising and marketing personalities are all affiliated with the Association. The structure of SEJA also seeks to provide the impetus and ability for its members and affiliates to one day return to Somalia.
Pasolini employed many of the techniques of Italian neorealism in the making of his film. Most of the actors he hired were non-professionals. Enrique Irazoqui (Jesus) was a 19-year-old economics student from Spain and a communist activist, while the rest of the cast were mainly locals from Barile, Matera, and Massafra, where the film was shot (Pasolini visited the Holy Land but found the locations unsuitable and "commercialized"). His location scouting in the Holy Land is documented in the adjoining feature-length documentary Location Hunting in Palestine, released a year later.
He was included in the New Zealand squad for the football tournament at the Summer Olympics in Beijing where he played in all three of New Zealand's group matches against China (1-1), Brazil (0-5) and Belgium (0-1). Scott has been included in the New Zealand squad for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa, along with fellow non-professionals James Bannatyne and Andrew Barron. Scott made his full All Whites debut as a substitute in a 1–3 loss to Thailand on 28 March 2009.
In 1994, he received a professorship at the Institute of Informatics at the University of Kiel. From 1997 to 2003, he led the Chair of Computer Science 1 at RWTH Aachen. Since 2004, he has been a professor at the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich for Information Technology and Education. Next to active research in various fields of theoretical computer science (about 170 publications), the main focus of his work lies on education for teachers of Computer Science and the illustration of basics of Computer Science to non-professionals.
Fujian Blue () is a 2007 Chinese film directed by Weng Shouming (Robin Weng). The film is Weng's first and is composed of two separate but linked stories entitled "The Neon Knights" and "At Home at Sea." The film touches on a number of controversial topics including juvenile delinquency, human trafficking, and drug use, which the film implies are the result of increasing influence of the West. Starring primarily non-professionals, Fujian Blue was produced by several independent companies in China and abroad, including Fantasy Pictures based in Beijing.
Although he wrote articles on a variety of subjects, most of his books were about firearms, starting with Gun Collecting in 1939. His 1940 book, The Gun Collector's Handbook of Values was one of the first to provide values for non-professionals, and he contributed to later editions for many years. From the 40s until his death, he wrote at least nine books on gun topics.Dr Jim Casada, Editor's notes, Guns of the Old West His most well-known book, Guns of the Old West, is considered a standard reference for Western firearms studies.
Individuals working in other helping professions are also at risk for experiencing compassion fatigue. These include child protection workers, veterinarians, teachers, social workers, palliative care workers, journalists, police officers, firefighters, animal welfare workers, public librarians, health unit coordinators, and Student Affairs professionals. Non-professionals, such as family members and other informal caregivers of people who have a chronic illness, may also experience compassion fatigue. The term was first coined in 1992 by Carla Joinson to describe the negative impact hospital nurses were experiencing as a result of their repeated, daily exposure to patient emergencies.
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), formerly the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association (HBIGDA), is a professional organization devoted to the understanding and treatment of gender dysphoria. Professionals include anyone working in disciplines such as medicine, psychology, law, social work, counseling, psychotherapy, family studies, sociology, anthropology, speech and voice therapy and sexology. Non- professionals may also join, paying the same membership fee, but without voting privileges.WPATH Official website, Membership Information The organization is funded by its membership and by donations and grants from non- commercial sources.
The term "diving cylinder" tends to be used by gas equipment engineers, manufacturers, support professionals, and divers speaking British English. "Scuba tank" or "diving tank" is more often used colloquially by non-professionals and native speakers of American English. The term "oxygen tank" is commonly used by non-divers; however, this is a misnomer since these cylinders typically contain (compressed atmospheric) breathing air, or an oxygen-enriched air mix. They rarely contain pure oxygen, except when used for rebreather diving, shallow decompression stops in technical diving or for in- water oxygen recompression therapy.
Instead, they tended to be sung by non-professionals, generally without shamisen accompaniment. But with the Tsugaru-shamisen “boom” after World War II, these songs began to receive renewed attention. Shamisen accompaniments were composed or arranged by such performers as Takahashi Chikuzan (Takahashi 1976:142). Somewhat earlier there had been a nationwide movement to produce “new folk songs” (see Hughes 1985:144-54, 281-309; Kojima 1970), resulting in the songs listed in Group E. More recently still, solo shamisen versions of the songs of Group D have been arranged.
This is a list of organizations and institutions of professional sexologists, sex researchers, and sexual behavior scientists. These do not include organizations of non-professionals, political advocacy or activist groups (although some organizations may engage in some advocacy as one of their activities), self-help or social groups, groups of enthusiasts for a topic in sexology, or websites unassociated with any actual organization or institution. These organizations and institutions are recognized by their local governments (such as by incorporation) or are administrative units within a larger organization that is.
She was an avid supporter of the dissemination of scientific literature, believing that scientific knowledge needed to be accessible to the people if it were to be of any real use to society. Bodington believed that many scientists lacked the ability to express their findings in a way clear and understandable to non-professionals. She viewed herself as a promoter of science and played a role similar to that of a modern pundit. In her writings for The Westminster Review, she discussed the development of the brain and argued the inferiority of Africans.
Wallis has written multiple books on women's health issues, endocrinology, and hematology; she is also the author of over 70 publications. She is especially recognized for having published the Textbook of Women's Health in 1998 for medical professionals as well as The Whole Woman: Take Charge of Your Health in Every Phase of Your Life in 1999 with co-author Marian Betancourt for non-professionals. Wallis has been a member of editorial boards for the Journal of the American Medical Women’s Association, Journal of Women’s Health, Rodale Books on Women's Health, and the National Academy on Women's Health Medical Education.
Still Life, which concerns provincial workers around the Three Gorges region, sharply contrasts with the works of Fifth Generation Chinese directors like Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige who were at the time producing House of Flying Daggers (2004) and The Promise (2005). It featured no star of international renown and was acted mostly by non- professionals. Many Sixth Generation films have highlighted the negative attributes of China's entry into the modern capitalist market. Li Yang's Blind Shaft (2003) for example, is an account of two murderous con-men in the unregulated and notoriously dangerous mining industry of northern China.
The primary mission of EQUiSat is to prove the accessibility of space to the masses through both demonstration of a low-cost DIY CubeSat and educational outreach. To further the primary mission, Brown Space Engineering will maintain EQUiSat as a low- cost and rigorously documented open source project, allowing others to replicate EQUiSat's subsystems without large budgets or extensive expertise. The total cost of parts to reproduce EQUiSat is around $5,000. Brown Cubesat Team espouses a DIY philosophy to minimize costs, while also utilizing production processes that are widely achievable by and accessible to non- professionals.
Clay Shirky Mass amateurization was first popularized by Clay Shirky in his 2008 book, Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing without Organizations. Shirky notes that blogging, video-sharing and photo-sharing websites allow anyone to publish an article or photo without the need of being vetted by professionals such as news or photo editors. Mass amateurization is changing the definition of words like journalist and photographer to include non-professionals outside of the institutional realm. Furthermore, mass amateurization is changing the way news and other content is diffused and consumed by the public through various media outlets.
As well a screenwriter and director, Kamen Kalev co-produced the movie along with Stefan Pirjov through their partnership production company Waterfront Film. Other film production houses that co-produced the movies were 'Chimney Pot', the Swedish 'Film i Väst' and 'Art Eternal' (Bulgaria). A large part of the cast of Eastern Plays were non-professionals, including debutant male lead Hristo Hristov who plays himself in the film and who died from a drug overdose towards the end of filming. Hristov's actual apartment is shown in the film, as are his drawings and the woodcarving workshop he works at.
The four winning drivers will automatically join the Nismo Global Driver Exchange and go on to race in the following years' Dubai 24 Hour. Winners of the Gran Turismo Academy include Lucas Ordóñez, Jordan Tresson and Jann Mardenborough, who have all gone on to compete in professional real-life racing. Some of these winners, who would normally be seen as "non-professionals", have received praise relating to how they are as skilled as drivers with years of experience. Based on this merit, four GT Academy drivers have been barred entry to the British GT (specifically the 'gentleman driver' section of the competition).
The DIY biology movement attempts to make available the tools and resources necessary for anyone, including non-professionals, to conduct biological engineering. One of the first pieces of open source laboratory equipment developed was the Dremelfuge by Irish biohacker Cathal Garvey, which uses a 3D printed tube holder attached to a Dremel rotary tool to spin tubes at high speeds, replacing often expensive centrifuges. Many other devices like PCR machines have been recreated extensively. In recent times, more complex devices have been created such as the OpenDrop digital microfluidics platform and the DIY NanoDrop both developed by GaudiLabs.
Before the 1990s, "wizard" was a common term for a technical expert, somewhat akin to "hacker." When developing the first version of its desktop publishing software, Microsoft Publisher, around 1991, Microsoft wanted to let users with no graphic design skill make documents that still looked good. Publisher was targeted at non-professionals, and Microsoft figured that, no matter what tools the program had, users wouldn't know what to do with them. Publisher's "Page Wizards" instead provided a set of forms to produce a complete document layout, based on a professionally designed template, which could then be manipulated with the standard tools.
In 2010, the screenplay was included in the Berlinale co-production market which helped attach Belgian producers Entre Chien et Loup and German producers Gringo Films to the film. In January 2011, the Israeli Film Fund and the Jerusalem Film Funds gave their support to the project. English sales agent WestEnd picked up the film. The casting process took almost a year. The three lead actors in the film, Shadi Mar’i who plays Sanfur, Tsahi Halevi who plays Razi and Hitham Omari who plays Badawi, were non-professionals who had never acted in a film before.
There is an array of BDSM practitioners who take part in sessions in which they do not receive any personal gratification. They enter such situations solely with the intention to allow their partners to indulge their own needs or fetishes. Professional dominants do this in exchange for money, but non-professionals do it for the sake of their partners. In some BDSM sessions, the top exposes the bottom to a range of sensual experiences, such as pinching; biting; scratching with fingernails; erotic spanking; erotic electrostimulation; and the use of crops, whips, liquid wax, ice cubes, and Wartenberg wheels.
Bujalski's rough-edged, realistic films are often compared to the works of directors John Cassavetes, Maurice Pialat and Mike Leigh. All of his feature films were photographed by Austrian cinematographer Matthias Grunsky. The first three are shot on hand-held 16mm, have a sometimes decidedly "lo-fi" feel (reinforced by Funny Ha Ha's distorted mono sound), and are often classified as mumblecore. The actors are non-professionals, many drawn from other media, including animator Kate Dollenmayer as the lead in Funny Ha Ha, musician Justin Rice as the lead in Mutual Appreciation and experimental filmmaker Bill Morrison in a supporting role in the same film.
Phadke Centre,Albert Ellis Papers, Series I: Correspondence, 1947-2006, Correspondence of K.M. Phadke & Dr. Albert Ellis, Columbia University Libraries Archival Collection the first learning center of REBT in India, offered a variety of individual and group programmes founded on the principles and techniques of REBT. He created his own training modules of primary and advanced workshops for professionals as well as two day workshops for non-professionals. Thousands of trainees, more than 200 organizations organized his training programmes for their employees, about 10000 executives from all levels of management. In the contemporary transactional analysis' era, training in REBT was just inconceivable to industry.
He's the conceiver and producer of "Eight Point Star", a film entirely animated by late Fernando Diniz, a renowned naïf painter who lived in a psychiatric institution in Brazil. As an artist-in- residence at the Division of Animation and Digital Arts of the University of Southern California, he completed in 1999 the film TwO, a 3D computer animation combined with animated scratches on 35 mm film. In 2000 he produced for Nickelodeon the first Latin-American episode for the series “Short Films by Short People”. In 2002 he becomes a John Simon Guggenheim Foundation fellow with the project "Dar Alma", that conceives animation workshops for non- professionals.
It came out of an improvisational acting workshop he held for non-professionals, with many of the film's performers having participated in the workshop. The four lead actresses shared the best actress award and the film earned a special mention for its script at the 2015 Locarno Film Festival. Hamaguchi was also given a special jury award at the 2016 Japan Movie Critic Awards, as well as a best newcomer award in the film division of the Agency for Cultural Affairs's Geijutsu Sensho Awards that year. His Asako I & II was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
The Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland is a learned society based in Ireland, whose aims are "to preserve, examine and illustrate all ancient monuments and memorials of the arts, manners and customs of the past, as connected with the antiquities, language, literature and history of Ireland". Founded in 1849, it has a countrywide membership from all four provinces of Ireland. Anyone subscribing to the aims of the Society, subject to approval by Council, may be elected to membership. Current and past members have included historians, archaeologists and linguists, but the Society firmly believes in the importance of encouraging an informed general public, and many members are non-professionals.
One major implication of professional autonomy is the traditional ban on corporate practice of the professions, especially accounting, architecture, medicine, and law. This means that in many jurisdictions, these professionals cannot do business through regular for- profit corporations and raise capital rapidly through initial public offerings or flotations. Instead, if they wish to practice collectively they must form special business entities such as partnerships or professional corporations, which feature (1) reduced protection against liability for professional negligence and (2) severe limitations or outright prohibitions on ownership by non-professionals. The obvious implication of this is that all equity owners of the professional business entity must be professionals themselves.
His articles on the websites of Netscape, Apple Computer, and O'Reilly Media have been popular and noted for being accessible to both experts and non-professionals. In particular, his better known works have covered important techniques for achieving compatible cross-browser scripting solutions, dealing with the many differences of the major browsers Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari and others; as well as discussing cross-platform issues involving the Macintosh, Windows, and Unix environments. Goodman has written a few apps for the iPhone, namely iFeltThat (earthquake maps) and BeaconAid-HF (for radio frequency monitoring). Goodman was born in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to San Francisco in 1983.
Due to that legacy, Robert Elsie emphasized that there was no reliable and objective historiography in Albania which could serve as a basis for his historical dictionary of Albania he compiled and published in 2010. Oliver Jens Schmitt stated that the post-World War II Albanian regime propagated the official version of the past using all available means. People in Albania were subjected to state organized indoctrination and propaganda. Schmitt explained that because of political influence it was impossible to organize open discussion about socialist historiography, while those who attempted to criticize it would be denounced often as non-professionals or foreigners with evil objectives.
126 Björk had wanted to have Mark Bell contribute to her albums Debut and Post; Bell was credited for the majority of the album's production, including the songs "Pluto", "Alarm Call", and the bassline in "Jóga". Björk stated that she "trusts and respects what [Bell] does for me. If I were to say who has influenced me most it would be Stockhausen, Kraftwerk, Brian Eno and Mark Bell". Other unorthodox methods of recording were used during the production, including Björk wanting to record outside on the porch and using non-professionals to help with production, such as Rebecca Storey, who was hired as a babysitter but added to the production staff after showing interest in the equipment.
Although early studies relied almost exclusively on male business executives, over the years this buffer-effect has been demonstrated in a large variety of occupational groups as well as non- professionals, including military groups,Bartone, P. T. (2000) Hardiness as a resiliency factor for United States Forces in the Gulf War. In J. M. Violanti, D. Paton & C. Dunning (Eds.), Posttraumatic stress intervention: Challenges, issues and perspectives (pp. 115–133). Springfield, IL: Charles C Thomas Publisher Ltd teachers and university staff, firefighters, and students. Still, not every investigation has been able to demonstrate such moderating, or buffering, effects and there is a debate whether the effects of hardiness are interactive or primarily independent of levels of stress.
As a young boy, Klopp aspired to become a doctor, but he did not believe he "was ever smart enough for a medical career", saying "when they were handing out our A-Level certificates, my headmaster said to me, 'I hope it works out with football, otherwise it's not looking too good for you'". While playing as an amateur footballer, Klopp worked a number of part-time jobs including working at a local video rental store and loading heavy items onto lorries. In 1988, while attending the Goethe University of Frankfurt, as well as playing for Eintracht Frankfurt non-professionals, Klopp managed the Frankfurt D-Juniors. In the summer of 1990, Klopp was signed by Mainz 05.
There are a range of different educational, counseling, and human resource management interventions that can support individuals to develop and manage their careers. Career support is commonly offered while people are in education, when they are transitioning to the labour market, when they are changing career, during periods of unemployment, and during transition to retirement. Support may be offered by career professionals, other professionals or by non-professionals such as family and friends. Professional career support is sometimes known as "career guidance" as in the OECD definition of career guidance: However this use of the term "career guidance" can be confusing as the term is also commonly used to describe the activities of career counselors.
In the absence of any kind of a film industry among the exile Tibetan community, the film was shot using a cast almost entirely made up of non-professionals. Only Jampa Kalsang, who plays Dhondup, had some prior acting experience. The rest of the cast was chosen through a casting call sent out on Tibet-related websites, and through an auditioning process in Dharamsala, India, where much of the film was shot. Tenzin Chokyi Gyatso, who plays Karma, normally works in a bank in suburban Washington DC, while Tenzin Jigme, the third main character in the film, is a real-life musician and a member of the popular Tibetan refugee rock band, JJI Exile Brothers.
Instead he teamed up with Joseph Engelmajer to set up in the south (near Toulouse) Le Patriarche, an association committed to "rehabilitating drug users in a communitarian environment". The approach became popular nable during the 1970s and 1980s, but as fashions in medicine moved on Le Patriarche fell from favour, identified in a 1995 government report as one of several "sects" that had emerged to support drug addicts. He also opposed the unregulated sale of syringes (although he was quick to change his position once the role of shared syringes in connection with the AIDS epidemic emerged). Claude Olievenstein believed there was a sense in which "therapeutic communities" under the direction of non-professionals were simply an alternative form of alienation.
According to a 2011 review study by economic historian Guðmundur Jónsson, > Economic history as an independent field of study is of fairly recent origin > in Iceland, emerging only in the last quarter of the twentieth century with > the increased specialisation and differentiation of the history profession. > With no separate economic history departments and in fact, only one general > university, the University of Iceland in Reykjavfk, it is not surprising > that economic history has largely been in the hands of either historians > educated within the broad church of history, non-professionals or scholars > outside the history profession. Only in the last twenty years or so have > specialist economic historians, educated abroad, entered the field and > turned the subject into a distinct discipline.
Assessments that can be completed by a parent or teacher can be useful to identify children who may require more in-depth evaluation. The Grammar and Phonology Screening (GAPS) test is a quick (ten minute) simple and accurate screening test developed and standardized in the UK. It is suitable for children from 3;4 to 6;8 years;months and can be administered by professionals and non- professionals (including parents) alike, and has been demonstrated to be highly accurate (98% accuracy) in identifying impaired children who need specialist help vs non-impaired children. This makes it potentially a feasible test for widespread screening. The Children’s Communication Checklist (CCC–2) is a parent questionnaire suitable for testing language skills in school-aged children.
It aims to bring together professional philosophers and non-professionals, to bring philosophical ideas and problems to the public attention, and to encourage wider discussion of both traditional and topical philosophical issues. To carry out this function, the society published its own journal, The Philosopher, set up local groups for lectures and discussions and held regular conferences, often free of charge. The journal continues to be published to this day, with recent notable contributors including Mary Midgley, Timothy Williamson, and Jason Stanley. Its most high-profile president has been Professor Brenda Almond, well known for her work in the cause of 'Applied Philosophy' in the United Kingdom, who helped shepherd the society to its 100th anniversary, celebrated with a special conference in Malmesbury in 2012.
The most influential and important contribution of Cowen’s career was the Primary Mental Health Program. Cowen and colleagues developed the well-defined and researched program to initiate early detection of emotional disturbances in the school setting and implement secondary prevention using non-professionals in the context of school. The project began in a single Rochester, New York elementary school in 1957 and was eventually implemented in over 500 school districts around the world. This helped shift mental health concepts and programs in more preventative directions. Broadly, Cowen and colleagues created programs that target three areas: 1) training skills and competencies known to promote wellness, 2) modifying educational practices to enhance children’s adaptation skills, and 3) helping children at risk cope with stressors (Emory L. Cowen, 1990).
His films are perhaps best characterised by their diversity in both genre and medium, including drama, comedy, experimental, documentary and animation. > Ellis comes out of a strong tradition of regional British filmmaking. He is > a very resourceful filmmaker who had embraced a DIY ethic even before > digital technology made that option straightforward. Most importantly, he's > an actor's director, and his ability to draw out convincing performances, > often from inexperienced young actors and non-professionals, makes his films > powerful, whatever the genre (Shots magazine) Soft, commissioned by Film 4 and UK Film Council's Cinema Extreme scheme won thirty-eight festival prizes including the International Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Best Short Film at the British Independent Film Awards, and both BAFTA and European Film Awards nominations.
Securax (1998–2002) was considered as one of Belgium's strongest hacking movements in the past twenty years and was founded by Filip Maertens and co- founded by Davy Van De Moere as an online community in order to combine skills and experiences in the domain of vulnerability identification, zero-day exploit creation and penetration testing methods. The movement was known for its critical insights into the information security industry, bold press interviews and its near-daily newsletter (in Dutch). At its peak, the newsletter was read by over 90,000 Dutch-speaking readers, both professionals and non-professionals. As of September 1999, companies could make use of the knowledge by way of "legal intrusion tests", where Securax assembled high quality and very skilled Tiger Teams to perform the projects.
The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump is a 2017 book edited by Bandy X. Lee, a forensic psychiatrist, containing essays from 27 psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals describing the "clear and present danger" that US President Donald Trump's mental health poses to the "nation and individual well being".The Dangerous Case Of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President Macmillan Publishers The book was an instant New York Times Best Seller, and high demand led to a second edition, with 10 additional mental health professionals and some non-professionals (who are not counted in the "37"). Lee has maintained that the book remains strictly a public service, and all royalties were donated to the public good to remove any conflict of interest.
The term "neo- figurative" emerged in the 1960s in Mexico and Spain to represent a new form of figurative art.Hal Foster, The Return of the Real: the Avant-Garde at the End of the Century, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1996, 1999). The greatest exponent of outsider art, the French Jean Dubuffet, influenced by Hans Prinzhorn's book Artistry of the Mentally Ill,Hans Prinzhorn, Artistry of the Mentally Ill, New York, Springer-Verlag, 1972 (translation from the original work in German, Bildnerei der Geisteskranken, Berlin, Julius Springer, 1922). coined the term art brut, which may be approximately translated as "art in the rough", to refer to the art made by non-professionals, who do not follow aesthetic rules, such as social misfits, children, mentally troubled people, prisoners, etc.
Improvised molotov cocktails Insurgency weapons and tactics are weapons and tactics, most often involving firearms or explosive devices, intended for use by insurgents to engage in guerrilla warfare against an occupier, or for use by rebels against an established government. One type of insurgency weapon are "homemade" firearms made by non-professionals, such as the Błyskawica (Lightning) submachine gun produced in underground workshops by the Polish resistance movement. Another insurgency weapon is a sanitized weapon, which is a weapon of any sort that has had normal markings, such as the manufacturer's name and/or serial number, omitted or obscured in an attempt to hide the origin of the weapon. A weapon that is part of the conventional military arsenal, but which has been taken up to great effect by insurgents, is the RPG.
Its cast consisted of local non-professionals whose Oklahoma twangs were so thick that all of their lines had to re-recorded by professional voice-over actors; upon release, one reviewer described it as "the only film that had to be dubbed from English to English". In addition to re-dubbing it, Babb re-edited and re-titled it The Prince of Peace; it was so successful that the New York Daily News called it "the Miracle of Broadway". Another film, Karamoja, was marketed as a shocking portrayal of a tribe from Uganda who wore "only the wind and live[d] on blood and beer". Scenes included "the bleeding of cattle and drinking of the warm blood, and self-mutilation as a form of ornamentation", as well as a full-color circumcision scene.
Propellant-grade hydrogen peroxide is available to qualified buyers. In typical circumstances, this chemical is sold only to companies or government institutions that have the ability to properly handle and utilize the material. Non-professionals have purchased hydrogen peroxide of 70% or lower concentration (the remaining 30% is water with traces of impurities and stabilizing materials, such as tin salts, phosphates, nitrates, and other chemical additives), and increased its concentration themselves. Distillation is extremely dangerous with hydrogen peroxide; peroxide vapor can not ignite but the released oxygen can ignite any material that it is in contact with, detonation is possible depending on specific combinations of temperature and pressure, the detonation is the result of rapid reactive evaporation of the liquid resulting in high temperature and pressure resulting in a violent rupture of the containing vessel.
GaBany was awarded the 2010 American Astronomical Society (AAS) Chambliss Amateur Achievement Award for his work with Dr. David Martínez-Delgado (MPIA) into detection of stellar streams around nearby galaxies. Recognizing the contribution of non- professionals to the advancement of astronomical research, the AAS gave the Chambliss Amateur Achievement Award to R. Jay GaBany of San Jose, California, "who has single-handedly, through his dedicated and careful work, spawned a new research direction in the exploration of galaxy evolution via low-surface- brightness imaging of galaxy halo substructure." GaBany has devoted hundreds of hours working with professional astronomers to make deep images that reveal faint tidal streams and rings in the outer halos of galaxies, indicative of recent and ongoing galaxy interactions with dwarf satellites, supporting studies of galaxy formation. He was also inducted into the SBIG Hall of Fame for astrophotography.
One of his few starring roles in this medium was as Jethro Dumont/Green Lama in the 1949 series The Green Lama, as well as a syndicated anthology series The Player, in which Frees narrated and played all the parts. Frees was often called upon in the 1950s and 1960s to "re-loop" the dialogue of other actors, often to correct for foreign accents, lack of English proficiency, or poor line readings by non-professionals. These dubs extended from a few lines to entire roles. This can be noticed rather clearly in the films Grand Prix (as Izo Yamura) and Midway where Frees reads for Toshiro Mifune's performances as Admiral Yamamoto; or in the film Some Like It Hot, in which Frees provides the voice of funeral director Mozzarella as well as much of the falsetto voice for Tony Curtis' female character Josephine.
Thus, Boal's current manifestation of Forum theatre is as follows: the actors (either professional actors or non professionals drawn from oppressed communities) perform a play with a scripted core, in which an oppression relevant to the audience is played out. After reaching the scripted conclusion, in which the oppressed character(s) fail to overturn their oppression, the actors begin the production again, although often in a condensed form. At any point during this second performance, any spect-actor may call out "stop!" and take the place of the actor portraying the oppressed individual (this actor stays on stage but to the side, giving suggestions to the spect-actor who has replaced him/her). If and when the oppression has been overthrown by the spect-actors, the production changes again: the spect-actors now have the opportunity to replace the oppressors, and find new ways of challenging the oppressed character.
Attempts by non-professionals to lubricate or repair clockwork can lead to serious damage and loss of clock functionality. A lubricant applied without first cleaning and polishing clockwork to remove the previous lubricant and contaminants can result in wear rather than prevent it. The combination of the newly applied lubricant with the previous lubricant often results in “[...] an unwanted chemical reaction between the two lubricants [...].” A careless lubricant choice can result in the use of inappropriate or "Poor-quality oil" on clockwork, which "can become sticky leading to mechanical problems." The inexperience of a non-professional can also lead to “the use of too much oil, or oil in the wrong place” during attempts to lubricate clockwork. The application of too much of a lubricant can be damaging because it “[...] usually causes the lubrication to run out of the bearing and by capillary action will cause the bearing to go dry.” Totally ignoring the lubrication needs of clockwork can be jeopardizing not only because of lubricant degradation, but because of the acidic nature of the organic lubricants often used in antique clocks.
Unlike traditional video and animation software applications that rely on a timeline or keyframes, Adobe Spark Video presents a unique, simplified narration-based animation model: users read a line of their story to their device (pressing and holding an on-screen button as if using a walkie talkie), choose a visual (e.g., photo, icon, or text), and repeat these steps for each line ("page") of their story to create a complete animated, narrated video. Spark Video edits users' voices, adds backing music, and then automatically generates animated motion graphics synchronizing the narration and corresponding visuals, dynamically adjusting the length of animations to smoothly align with each line of the story. It includes several dozen motion graphics themes that apply custom typography, color palettes, and digital effects and animation designed using Adobe After Effects, such as motion blur, drop shadows, zooming and panning, 3D, camera motion, textures, and animated masks. The software claims to allow non- professionals to create animated narration-driven short videos “in minutes.” Videos can be shared via a custom web page, email, SMS, Facebook, Twitter, or exported as H.264 video files.
