O'Reilly is an enthusiastic networker, and from early developed a wide range of acquaintances and friends. Among the closest were Kevin McGoran and Jim McCarthy. He made contacts at high levels, which sometimes included becoming friendly with controversial figures such as Henry Kissinger and the late Robert Mugabe. He hosted the late Nelson Mandela more than once, and knows a range of Irish and American politicians.
Low was a consummate networker and taught royalty, actors and politicians to ski. Despite her often intimidating façade, Low made many friends through business and while travelling. She was the godmother to a number of children, including the actress Emily Lloyd, following a friendship with her grandmother, Uli Lloyd-Pack who worked for Low for over 30 years, and Uli Lloyd-Pack’s son, Roger Lloyd-Pack.
Rachel Dror is a natural communicator and irrepressible networker. She was already well connected within the Stuttgart teaching community, and invitations to deliver her talk to school audiences became a part of her life. She was able to devote herself to the mission more completely after her retirement from teaching in 1986. Increasingly she found herself accepting invitations to speak from schools in neighbouring cities.
Vittore Baroni by Piermario Ciani Vittore Baroni (born 1956 in Forte dei Marmi, Italy), is an Italian mailartist, music critic and explorer of countercultures. Since the mid-1970s he has been one of the most active and respected promoters and documenters of mail art. He has written or edited various books on aspects of the “networking cultures” that anticipated the Internet, among which is the mail art guide book, Arte Postale.Arte Postale- Guida al network della corrispondenza creativa, Vittore Baroni (AAA Edizioni, Bertiolo, 1997) He has also contributed to many of the seminal works about mail art published in recent decades, including Chuck Welch's Eternal Network,Eternal Network, A Mail Art Anthology, Chuck Welch (University of Calgary Press, 1995) H.R. Fricker's I am a Networker (Sometimes),I am a Networker (Sometimes), H.R. Fricker (Verlag VEXER, 1989) and Renaud Siegmann's Mail Art, Art postal - Art posté.
According to an article in the Psychotherapy Networker on Jay Haley (a Research Associate at MRI in the 1960s) MRI "became the go-to place for any therapist who wanted to be on the cutting edge of psychotherapy research and practice. Fostering a climate of almost untrammeled experimentalism, MRI started the first formal training program in family therapy, produced some of the seminal early papers and books in the field, and became a place where some of the field's leading figures - Paul Watzlawick, Richard Fisch, Jules Riskin, Virginia Satir, Salvador Minuchin, R.D. Laing, Irvin D. Yalom, Cloe Madanes - came to work or just hang out".Psychotherapy Networker, November/December, 2007, p. 53 Later, the Brief Therapy Center at MRI presented an innovative model for the comprehensive approach to brief psychotherapy, a model which, in turn, has influenced subsequent brief therapy approaches throughout the world.
The new sectors were further subdivided into divisions. This ended the BR blue period as new liveries were adopted gradually. Infrastructure remained the responsibility of the regions until the "Organisation for Quality" initiative in 1991, when this too was transferred to the sectors. Networker in Network SouthEast livery In the early 1980s, under the government of Margaret Thatcher, the possibility of more Beeching-style cuts was raised again briefly.
The British Rail Class 325 is a 4-car dual-voltage 25 kV alternating current (AC) or 750 V direct current (DC) electric multiple unit (EMU) train used for postal train services. While the Class 325 bears a resemblance to the Networker series of DMUs and EMUs, they are based on the Class 319 EMU. The Class 325 was British Rail's newest unit to take over parcels workings on electrified lines.
It is not clear whether it was his political activism or simply his Jewishness that led to his exclusion before he had the opportunity to complete his studies, however. On leaving Budapest he returned to Miskolc. The old Austria-Hungarian Empire had been famously multi-ethnic, and at this time the city still had the second largest Jewish population in Hungary. A congenital networker, Grossmann became more intensively involved in Zionist activism than ever.
" Welch's works ask "participants to remember stories related to personal and precious clothing, to construct a type of memorial to something precious that they have lost, and to build a community from these efforts." Chuck Welch wrote in 1995, "Cultural exchange is a radical act. It can create paradigms for the reverential sharing and preservation of the earth's water, soil, forests, plants and animals. The ethereal networker aesthetic calls for guiding that dream through action.
The mostly aluminium alloy body gives light weight to help acceleration and energy efficiency. Much of the design of the Class 168/170/171 is derived from the Networker Turbo Class 165 and Class 166 trains built by British Rail Engineering Limited's Holgate Road carriage works. Notable features shared are the aluminium alloy frame and two-stage Voith T211r hydrodynamic transmission system. The diesel engine has changed to an MTU 6R 183TD13H.
Here he studied painting and sculpture under David Estoppey and James Vibert respectively. Von Matt was becoming an assiduous networker, and during his time in Geneva he made contact with Kurt Seligmann and Alberto Giacometti. During 1920 he undertook a lengthy study trip to Florence where he was much impressed by what he saw of the work of Sandro Botticelli. He was a student at the Munich Fine Arts Academy between 1921 and 1923.
Susana Soca (1906–1959) was a Uruguayan poet-writer and a consummate networker. During the most productive part of her public career, much of which coincided with the Second World War, she lived in France. Soca also founded and for many years produced the transatlantic literary journal La Licorne. Both in her journal and elsewhere she was notable for the extent and effectiveness of her support for fellow writers from Latin America and Europe.
These were a development of the Networker Turbo design already in use by Chiltern and other operators. The Bombardier Turbostar was an evolution of the Class 168 and purchased by Anglia Railways, Central Trains, Chiltern Railways, Hull Trains, London Midland, London Overground Rail Operations, ScotRail, South West Trains and Southern. As at September 2020, they are operated by Abellio ScotRail, CrossCountry, Govia Thameslink Railway, Northern Trains, Transport for Wales Rail and West Midlands Trains.

At the Sunday Correspondent, Rudd became friends with Robert Peston, now political editor for ITV News, and they worked together at the Financial Times where the two were known as the "Pest and the Rat". Rudd taking the nickname in reference to the then popular children's television character Roland Rat.Lucy Kellaway, The networker, Financial Times, 12 August 2011; retrieved 18 May 2015. The watershed building and harbour > Watershed is more than just an arts cinema. It is at once a cultural centre, > a business broker, a social networker, a research and innovation facility, a > café/bar, and a cultural tourist attraction. For the first twenty years of its existence, the Watershed concentrated on film and photography. In the 21st Century it has increasingly taken up online media and multimedia, to the point that it has more visitors online than in person.
He was also a skilled networker, soliciting support from Saskatchewan Premier Tommy Douglas in designing his election platform. He could not, however, bring the CCF above third-party status in the election of 1953. The Liberal-Conservative coalition which governed the province from 1940 to 1950 had dissolved, and most of the electorate was polarized between these two parties. The Liberal- Progressives (or Liberals) won 32 seats and a majority; the CCF were reduced to only five.
Sources stress the impact of his enthusiasm for his subject. He backed the new city art gallery in 1831. He argued powerfully for the new Königsberg Arts Academy which opened in 1845, using personal contacts as appropriate, and in the end it was the new king himself, with whom Hagen had studied at the court apothecary back in 1807/08, who signed the cabinet order approving the project in May 1842. Ernst August Hagen was a consummate networker.
The trains were built in several batches from 1998. The first batch was classified 168/0 under TOPS and resembled the Class 165 units previously built by BREL York. The Networker-design cab was an interim solution pending the design of a completely new cab for further Turbostar batches. Subsequent builds, subclassed as 168/1 and 168/2, were constructed at the same time as the Class 170 Turbostar and thus are part of the Turbostar family of trains.
The new stock has internal displays and automated announcements to provide passengers with information on the train's route. At first the displayed text was static and showed only the destination of the train, but later showed also the name of the next station and interchanges there. Subsequent modifications introduced scrolling text. The 1996 stock uses a different motor from the 1995 stock and has a motor design similar to Class 465 and Class 466 Networker trains.
They are very similar to Class 319 units, sharing the same traction equipment and body design, but are fitted with cabs of the same design as the ABB Networker family. TOPS numbers are on the front of the cabs under the driver's window in a non-standard typeface (Plantin, the then corporate typeface of Royal Mail), and the units were numbered 325001 - 325016. The units are fitted with large round oleo buffers, and have no gangways between carriages.
For several years, Lebow wrote a column for the Psychotherapy Networker about the relationship of research and practice in psychotherapy. Since 2012, Lebow has been editor-in-chief of the journal Family Process, the oldest journal in the field of family therapy (Imber-Black, 2011). Lebow brought his integrative focus to the journal, including articles about all couple and family therapy orientations, and bridging articles about research in family science and the practice of couple and family therapy.
Outside of the legislative session, Lierman maintains an active presence in her neighborhoods by visiting schools, meeting with business leaders, and acting as a convener and networker for communities and organizations. During the pandemic, she recruited World Central Kitchen to come to Baltimore and organized a donation drive of extra funding for City Schools families with food insecurity. She also hosts regular online briefings to keep people informed about relevant issues. Lierman is married to Eben Hansel and they have two children.
According to John Taylor, producer Matthew Hager worked on tracks for the March 2011 extended release of the album. Some of these songs are "Networker Nation", released as a bonus track, and "Early Summer Nerves" and "Too Close to the Sun", appearing only on the Best Buy exclusive edition. The Best Buy edition also includes a bonus DVD featuring seven videos. Nick Rhodes described "This Lost Weekend" as a "slow song" sounding "like Motown", saying it is "nothing like anything on the album".
On 20 July 2017, the first DLC pack for the game was announced, titled Great Western Express. The pack was made available for pre-order, with the release date set as 24 August 2017. The pack includes the Great Western Mainline from London Paddington to Reading, as well as the InterCity 125 high speed train, British Rail Class 166 Networker Turbo and Class 66 freight train. The pack is themed around the current franchise holder for the GWML, Great Western Railway (GWR).
These services do not stop at Swale or Sittingbourne, but use the third side of a triangle junction (Western Junction) that links the Sheerness Line to the Chatham Mainline. These are normally operated by Class 465 and 466 Networker formed into 6 car units. Class 466 units on their own are not compatible with the Rail Vehicle Accessibility (Non-Interoperable Rail System) Regulations 2010 (RVAR 2010) as of 1 January 2020, so are used in combination with Class 465 units.
In 1978, Walters founded the Women's Project in Family Therapy alongside colleagues Betty Carter, Peggy Papp, and Olga Silverstein. According to Psychotherapy Networker, the Project: > "was a combination feminist think tank and SWAT team, which, in public > workshops all over the country, challenged the underlying sexism in some of > the most basic notions of family therapy." Then, in 1980, she founded the Family Therapy Practice Center. It was one of the first family clinics in the country to be run by a woman.
Nancy Lambton, who had run British propaganda in Iran during the war, recommended him for the Embassy position. Journalist Christopher de Bellaigue describes Robin Zaehner as "a born networker who knew everyone who mattered in Tehran" with a taste for gin and opium. "When Kingsley Martin, the editor of the New Statesman, asked Zaehner at a cocktail party in Tehran what book he might read to enlarge his understanding of Iran, Zaehner suggested Alice through the Looking Glass."Christopher de Bellaigue, Patriot of Persia.

The idea for the virtual library was developed within a project which took place in 2002 at the Collegium Helveticum at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) in collaboration with that year's visiting writer Walter Grond. Initially Grond and the literary critic and networker Beat Mazenauer intended to launch a blog in German where authors and critics would be able to recommend books by writing short reviews. In August 2006 the European Commission funded a three-year development programme for readme.cc. Within the framework of the Programme Culture 2000.
Writing in Nature, editor Declan Butler reports on an analysis of acknowledgments on nearly one third of a million scientific papers and reports that Danvy is "the most thanked person in computer science". Danvy himself is quoted as being "stunned to find my name at the top of the list", ascribing his position to a "series of coincidences": he is multidisciplinary, is well travelled, is part of an international PhD programme, is a networker, and belongs to a university department with a long tradition of having many international visitors.
1995 and 1996 stock trains have the same body shell design, but they use different AC traction control systems. The 1995 stock system is more modern, since the 1996 stock design specification was 'frozen' in 1991. 1996 stock trains use three-phase induction motors fed from a single-source inverter using a GTO (gate-turn-off) thyristor derived from those on Class 465 Networker trains, whereas the 1995 stock uses Alstom's "Onix" three-phase Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) drive. Earlier stock, like most electric trains manufactured before the 1990s, used DC motors.
One of Ōshima's old associates from the time of the Weimar Republic, Friedrich Wilhelm Hack [de], had by 1934 joined the new Dienststelle Ribbentrop. Hack served as the networker between Ōshima, Canaris and German minister of defense Werner von Blomberg, organizing meetings in Freiburg, starting in early 1935. Hack was instrumental in establishing personal contacts for Ōshima and was the most important link between him and Joachim von Ribbentrop, who Ōshima viewed as the single most important person on the German side after Hitler himself. Ōshima first met with Ribbentrop in March 1935.
He was ordained an Elder on appointment as professor of Greek and ever since then had been returned as representative of the university, or of the presbytery, to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland at its yearly meetings. When he became a minister and progressed as an academic, his influence in the assembly grew. His speaking skills were considerable and had always been an excellent networker, noted for his conciliatory approach. He had closely studied the history, law and procedures of the General Assembly, so he was a formidable operator.
10 Weakland's final appeal to the field was published weeks before his death from ALS. He wrote in a letter to the Family Therapy Networker that: > While not always easy, one of the strengths of the field from its earliest > days has been constructive reflection and discussion of its diversity. The > emphasis on having things "my way" and needing something new each year has > distracted us from serious and useful dialogue about what aids people in > distress and facilitates change.as quoted in Eron, J., & Lund, T. > (1996)Narrative Solutions in Brief Thearpy.
At Bateson's invitation, Weakland moved to California with his wife, Anna Wu Weakland to participate in research. Weakland was the first person Bateson asked to join a research project that would become known as the Bateson Project that helped to give birth to family therapy and co-authored the seminal paper,Psychotherapy Networker - Magazine > Articles > The Accidental Therapist "Towards a Theory of Schizophrenia"Bateson, G., Jackson, D., Haley, J., & Weakland, J. (1956). Toward a theory of schizophrenia. Behavioral Science, 1, 251-264) Weakland was also an early student and researcher of Milton Erickson.Haley,J.
Described by journalist Michael White as a "ferociously effective networker", Blears stood in Tatton in 1987 against Neil Hamilton and in 1992 in Bury South where she lost by 788 votes. At the 1997 general election she was elected as the Labour MP for Salford, her home seat. After the election she became the Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Minister of State at the Department of Health Alan Milburn until 1998. She spent ten months in 1999 as PPS to then Chief Secretary to the Treasury Andrew Smith.
The Resource Investigator gives a team a rush of enthusiasm at the start of the project by vigorously pursuing contacts and opportunities. He or she is focused outside the team, and has a finger firmly on the pulse of the outside world. Whereas a Plant creates new ideas, a Resource Investigator will quite happily appropriate them from other companies or people. A good Resource Investigator is a maker of possibilities and an excellent networker, but has a tendency to lose momentum towards the end of a project and to forget to follow things up.
The InterCity 250 project was to be the next major infrastructure project following the East Coast Main Line electrification and delivery of the Intercity 225s. However, BR was also beginning a major upgrade of its suburban and commuter Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) rolling stock on Network SouthEast, with the introduction of the Networker series as well as the construction of the Channel Tunnel lines. As a consequence, funding was limited. This meant that the £380 million for the locomotives added to the required cost of upgrades to the WCML infrastructure was not available.
Banks was evidently gregarious and a natural networker. He served between 1869 and 1871 as the president of the King and Queen's College of Physicians in Ireland (as the "Royal College" was then known). He also served a term, in 1861, as president of the Dublin Pathological Society. There was unanimity with regard to his appointment as the first president of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland when it was established in 1882, and he also presided over the British Medical Association when, in 1887, it convened in Dublin.
The 1996 Stock design specification was "frozen" in 1991, meaning that despite the name, the 1995 Stock actually uses more modern equipment. The 1995 stock uses Alstom's "Onix" three-phase insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) drive, whereas the 1996 stock uses three-phase induction motors fed from a single-source inverter using a gate turn-off thyristor (GTO), derived from those on Class 465 Networker trains. This means that unlike the 1996 Stock, the 1995 Stock does not make the same "gear changing" noise when accelerating from rest. Another major difference is the type of bogie used.
Richardson was a board member of VirtuOz until January 2013, when the company was purchased by Nuance Communications; she was on the advisory board of Proofpoint Inc., a provider of email security and compliance products and was chairwoman of the board of directors of San Francisco-based Hi5 Networks Inc. from 2008 until December 2011, when the company was purchased by social networker Tagged Inc. Richardson has also sat on the boards of HackerRank, a technology company that develops competitive programming challenges, and i2, a Silver Lake-owned developer of investigative analysis software, until the company was sold to IBM in October 2011.
Nnorom Azuonye (born 12 July 1967, in Biafra) is a publisher, theater director, playwright, poet and advertising professional. He is also an accredited Methodist Local Preacher with the Methodist Church in Britain and serves as Principal Networker, Global Calvary Network. He wrote Letter To God & Other Poems in 2003, The Bridge Selection: Poems for the Road (2005 & 2012) and Funeral of the Minstrel in 2015). The Founding Publishing Director & Chief Executive Officer, SPM Publications Ltd, Azuonye is the founder and administrator of Sentinel Poetry Movement and the founder and publisher of the magazines Nollywood Focus, Sentinel Literary Quarterly, Sentinel Nigeria and Sentinel Champions.
There he took an interest in art, drawing, and photography. Zerbe graduated from Yale in 1928, where he was an editor of the campus humor magazine The Yale Record with writer Geoffrey T. Hellman, writer and film critic Dwight Macdonald, and Hollywood art director Jack Otterson. While an undergrad, Zerbe had a knack for getting around the Prohibition laws, and was known as the guy who knew where the booze and parties were. (It helped that there was a speakeasy in the basement of The Yale Record building.) This paid off, and he became a supreme social networker.
Some observers see him as an exemplary figure. David Armstrong, for example, in his study of independent American journalism, presents Satin as an embodiment of the "do-it-yourself spirit" that makes an independent press possible. Futurists Jessica Lipnack and Jeffrey Stamps portray Satin as a pioneer "networker" who spent two years riding the bus across the U.S. in an attempt to connect like-minded thinkers and activists. Marilyn Ferguson, author of The Aquarian Conspiracy, says that by engaging in a lifelong series of personal and political experiments with few resources, Satin is playing the role of the holy "Fool" for his time.
She currently serves as President of the organization. She helped design and direct the "Couples Together Against Violence" research study to develop an evidence-based group therapy method for treating domestic violence. She also created and served as the Clinical Director of "Loving Couples Loving Children," a national program for treating couples in poverty that was tested with over 3,000 couples. She has offered scores of talks and workshops over the years for Evolution of Psychotherapy Conferences, Psychotherapy Networker Symposiums, American Psychological Association (APA) annual conferences, and American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) annual conferences.
In the 1980s and 1990s Network SouthEast developed Networker trains with micro-processor controlled three-phase AC traction motors on half the axles. The build of the first Class 465 units was split between the newly privatised British Rail Engineering Limited and GEC-Alstholm. Eurostar trains were ordered in 1989 to run from London to Paris and Brussels through the Channel Tunnel, then being built. They were designed to run over the DC electrified southern British network, through the AC electrified Channel Tunnel, on the French high-speed railway network (LGV Nord) at and Belgium railways.
Much of the fleet was introduced after the 1955 Modernisation Plan; stock was old (some dated from before World War II) and in variable condition, giving a "drab" and "uninspiring" appearance, and was difficult to convert to driver-only operation. Accordingly, the sector invested in many new vehicles during its eight-year history. After initial problems, the Networker range of units proved very successful and is still used across southeast England on the privatised rail network. The same applies to the innovative Class 319 dual-voltage units, built for NSE's new Thameslink service which operated on two incompatible types of electrified line.
166205 at Bristol Temple Meads The "Networker Turbo Express" is a three-coach DMU, similar to the Class 165 units but with an internal layout more suitable for longer-distance services. They are now mostly based at St Philip's Marsh depot in Bristol, where they currently work on most of the lines in the area including the Wessex Main Line, Severn Beach line, Heart of Wessex Line, Golden Valley line and Bristol to Taunton line. From Saturday 17th September 2020 there is also now one booked diagram for this class on the Tarka Line in the Exeter area at the weekends.
This commission resulted in his attaining the status of an independent and highly regarded master. From this point forward Bartolomeo received many commissions and expanded his network by collaborating on projects with celebrated artists such as Giapeco, Boccati and Bonfigli. His willingness to collaborate as well as master new techniques and skills in order to reach broader markets speaks to his talent as a networker and businessman. However, most works of this early period in his career are not documented, and it is difficult to pinpoint with whom he collaborated with on the work that can be identified as his.
He joined the ANC in 1941. In 1943, together with Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo, he joined the ANC Youth League, founded by Anton Lembede, of which he was initially the treasurer. He later distanced himself from Lembede after Lembede, who died in 1947, had ridiculed his parentage (Sisulu was the son of a white foreman). Sisulu was a political networker and had a prominent planning role in the militant Umkhonto we Sizwe ("Spear of the Nation"). He was made secretary general of the ANC in 1949, displacing the more passive older leadership, and held that post until 1954.
Arthur Heinrich Walter Pieck, the second of his parents' three recorded child, was born in Bremen where his father worked as a qualified carpenter and was active in local politics (SPD). Arthur Pieck's parents had married early the previous year: his mother, born Christine Häfker, worked in the garment industry. His father was an active left wing member of the SPD and a consummate networker, as a result of which Arthur, while still a boy, could come into contact with stars of the contemporary socialist movement without leaving the family home. Visitors included Rosa Luxemburg along with Käte and Hermann Duncker and Franz Mehring.
The Horseshoe Estate is strongly associated with Bruno Taut (1880–1938). Taut was not only the chief architect of the Horseshoe Estate, but also acted as the chief architect of the public utility housing enterprise GEHAG, was part of the Deutscher Werkbund and had an influence on the architecture of the Neues Bauen movement in Berlin. Four out of six estates that gained the UNESCO World Heritage site were developed under his leadership. Bruno Taut was accompanied by Martin Wagner (1885–1957), who acted as a political organiser and networker and is regarded as a key figure in the construction of Berlin's housing estates.
During the 1990s, the organization went through rapid growth. In 1989, there were 1,300 ACA meetings and by 2003 there were an estimated 40,000 members of ACA."The ACOA marketplace" (Lily Collet: The pseudonym of a Mill Valley, California writer whose work has been published in the New Yorker, Mother Jones, The Washington Post, and elsewhere), The Family Therapy Networker (Editor: Richard Simon, PhD), January/February 1990, p31.Self-help organizations for alcohol and drug problems: Toward evidence-based practice and policy; Keith Humphreys et al; Journal of substance abuse treatment 26 (2004); In 2014, there were 1,300 groups worldwide, about 780 of these in the USA.
Driving cab of a 170 The class is a development of the design used in the British Rail Class 165 and 166 DMUs known as the Networker Turbos which were built by British Rail Engineering Limited and later ABB Transportation Ltd before that company became part of Bombardier. Notable features shared are the aluminium alloy frame and Voith transmission as well as the general body shape (the cab ends are similar to those of the Class 168, but not Class 165/166), interior design and door fittings. The final drive is sourced from ZF instead of Gmeinder and the diesel-engine supplier is MTU.TURBOSTAR – United Kingdom bombardier.
Although the focus of her professional career was on Vienna, Lydia Marinelli was an enthusiastic networker and communicator, notably when it came to encouraging a less polarised and ossified approach to the study of Sigmund Freud. She was an academic researcher at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.. In 2008, shortly bnefore her death, she also became a "visiting scholar" and stipendiate at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin. She authored a number of papers and artivles, sometimes one her own and sometimes jointly with colleagues. Topics to which she repeatedly returned included the History and Theory of Psychology, Dreams and Sigmund Freud.
CommVault, Veeam and Veritas have integrations with ONTAP, SolidFire, Cloud Backup and E-Series leveraging storage capabilities like snapshots and cloning capabilities for testing backup copies and SnapMirror for Backup and Recovery (B&R;), Disaster Recovery (DR) and Data Archiving for improving restore time and number of recovery points (see RPO/RTO). Cloud Backup integrates with nearly all B&R; products for archiving capabilities since it is represented as ordinary NAS share for B&R; software. Backup and recovery software from competitor vendors like IBM Spectrum Protect, EMC NetWorker, HP Data Protector, Dell vRanger, Acronis Backup etc. also have some level of integrations with NetApp storage systems.
This process, known as "sectorisation", led to far greater customer focus, but was cut short in 1994 with the splitting up of BR for privatisation. Network SouthEast with a Networker at Charing Cross serving Kent Upon sectorisation in 1982, three passenger sectors were created: InterCity, operating principal express services; London & South East (renamed Network SouthEast in 1986) operating commuter services in the London area; and Provincial (renamed Regional Railways in 1989) responsible for all other passenger services. In the metropolitan counties local services were managed by the Passenger Transport Executives. Provincial was the most subsidised (per passenger km) of the three sectors; upon formation, its costs were four times its revenue.
Little known before the nomination (Clinton had not met her until their interview),Clinton, My Life, p. 456. Baird was a skilled networker who had been the protégé of several powerful Washington insiders, including Clinton transition team leader Warren Christopher and once-and- future White House Counsel Lloyd Cutler. Picking Baird gave Clinton the ability to satisfy the women's groups' desires while still showing independence by not choosing one of their preferred selections. Despite the lack of familiarity and getting a lukewarm response from some Clinton backers – those in the legal public interest community said "Zoë who?" and her corporate sympathies discouraged liberals – Baird was expected to gain confirmation in the U.S. Senate.
Carl Alanson Whitaker (1912–1995) was an American physician and psychotherapy pioneer family therapist. Carl Whitaker, M.D. "Carl Whitaker was one of the founding generation of family therapists who broke the rules of the psychotherapeutic orthodoxies of the time, such as that therapy focused on a single client and was totally divorced from family life," said Richard Simon, editor of The Family Therapy Networker, a leading publication in the field. "His idea was that the entire family was the client." Dr. Whitaker, was known for his charm and charismatic manner, was one of the most powerful voices in shaping the practice of family therapy as it began to develop in the 1960s.
An attempt at a cheap DMU replacement was made with the Pacer—essentially a modified bus body mounted on a rigid 4-wheel freight wagon chassis—which met with customer dissatisfaction. However, more successful stock such as the Sprinter DMU, the Networker DMUs, and EMUs were introduced. To considerable surprise, the Thatcher government, which had been perceived as anti-rail, authorized the electrification of the East Coast Main Line including the line from Doncaster to Leeds from 1985, with the work completed in 1991. At a regional level, Network SouthEast undertook numerous electrification projects, including the Midland Main Line to Bedford and the Southern 750 V DC system reached Hastings and Weymouth.
Guy Francis de Moncy Burgess (16 April 1911 – 30 August 1963) was a British diplomat and Soviet agent, a member of the Cambridge Five spy ring that operated from the mid-1930s to the early years of the Cold War era. His defection in 1951 to the Soviet Union, with his fellow spy Donald Maclean, led to a serious breach in Anglo-United States intelligence co-operation, and caused long-lasting disruption and demoralisation in Britain's foreign and diplomatic services. Born into a wealthy middle-class family, Burgess was educated at Eton College, the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth and Trinity College, Cambridge. An assiduous networker, he embraced left-wing politics at Cambridge and joined the British Communist Party.
Redhill The "Networker Turbo" is a two- or three-coach DMU used on shorter-distance services in the Thames Valley area, with the majority based at Reading Traction Maintenance Depot. They are mainly used on branches such as the Greenford branch line, Slough–Windsor & Eton line, Marlow branch line and Regatta Line. They are also used on services between Reading and Basingstoke, Didcot Parkway and Oxford or Banbury and sometimes services between London and Oxford. Some (eventually all) are based at St Philip's Marsh depot in Bristol, where they work on the most of the lines in the area including the Severn Beach line, Heart of Wessex Line, Golden Valley line and Bristol to Exeter line.
Within and on behalf of the women's movement Alice Bensheimer became an intensive networker, happy to work together with government agencies through the Baden Women's Association ("Badischer Frauenverein") or indeed with the social-democratic women's movement at a time when, for a wife and daughter of the Mannheim middle-class establishment, Clara Zetkin and the other Social- democratic feminists would conventionally have been considered far outside the political mainstream. Bensheimer was convinced that the shared interests of women were far above and outside the world of mere party politics, and she called for greater female involvement in social issues and in schools policy. That was the context in which she was also an early advocate of women's suffrage.
Mary Marr "Polly" Platt (January 29, 1939 – July 27, 2011) was an American film producer, production designer and screenwriter. She was the first female art director accepted into Hollywood's Art Director's Guild. In addition to her credited work, she was widely known as mentor (for which she was honored with Women in Film Crystal Award) as well as an uncredited collaborator and networker. In the case of the latter, she is widely credited with contributing to the success of ex-husband and director Peter Bogdanovich's early films; mentoring then, first-time director and writer Cameron Crowe, and discovering actors including Cybill Shepherd, Tatum O'Neal, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson and director Wes Anderson.
In 2018, she received for a second time a Fulbright Artist's Award to serve as a visiting scholar for six months (October 2018 - April 2019) at the CCRMA – Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, Stanford University, USA. The new media cinematic opera "Oedipus, Sex with Mum was Blinding" (libretto and direction) premiered in the USA in April 2019 and is currently on tour. Her music theatre piece "The kindly Ones" is about to premiere at the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial in June 2019. As an activist and networker, Papakonstantinou, partnered three Creative Europe projects (Polart Circle, Creative Lenses, Europe Grand Central) and international networks Trans Europe Halles and IETM – International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts.
"Nardi, Whittaker and Schwarz (2002) point at three main tasks that they believe networkers need to attend in order to keep a successful professional (intentional) network: building a network, maintaining the network and activating selected contacts. They stress that networkers need to continue to add new contacts to their network in order to access as many resources as possible, and to maintain their network through staying in touch with their contacts. This is so that the contacts are easy to activate when the networker has work that needs to be done." By using a professional network service, businesses are able to keep all of their networks up-to-date, in order, and help figure out the best way to efficiently get in touch with each of them.
This would be inefficient in a small motor designed for stop-start operation. Thus it was only the adoption of electronic control systems from the 1980s that made AC traction viable for trains. The motor can be supplied using an inverter, and by varying the inverter's output frequency it is possible to keep the frequency of the current in the rotor windings, and hence the reactance, constant. (The reactance depends on frequency, whereas the resistance is fixed.) The GTO thyristor achieves this by "chopping" the supply voltage in order to drive a sinusoidal current in the motor windings (pulse width modulation), creating the characteristic whine associated with the stock and with the Class 465 Networker trains that share its traction drive system.
Contemporary estimates varied widely, but it is likely that during the early 1930s at least 20% of the SA membership comprised these so-called "Beefsteak Nazis". That provides context for the reference in sources to Crüger having worked inside the SA for the "M-Apparat", a shadowy organisation which operated as an intelligence service on behalf of the (after 1933 illegal) Communist Party. Elsewhere there are indications that his role was involved more with proselytising than with intelligence gathering. Always an incorrigible networker, he inveigled his way into National Socialist student groups to urge a critical assessment of the party leadership "which in its practical politics [had since taking power] ... backed off from much of what it had hitherto been promising".
159 019 in Network SouthEast livery departing from Southampton in 1996 In the late 1980s, the locomotive- hauled stock on Network SouthEast's West of England route from London Waterloo to Salisbury, Yeovil Junction and Exeter St Davids was in urgent need of replacement. The British Rail Class 50 locomotives were not suited to the stop-start nature of the route, and frequently broke down. Because of the long sections of single track west of Salisbury following the Beeching Axe, a single breakdown could cause chaos. Various options were considered including electrification, shortened HSTs, construction of new locomotives and stock (a passenger version of the proposed Class 48), or the proposed Class 171 (which would been part of the Networker family, an intercity version of the Class 165 – not to be confused with the later Turbostars).
Network SouthEast's fleet of EMUs featured seven different body designs, from 1930s styles based on stock designed by Oliver Bulleid to the "modernistic but attractive" lightweight aluminium Networker range designed "from the ground up" by NSE's own design team. Most vehicles were based on British Rail's standardised Mark 1, Mark 2 and Mark 3 carriages, but there were variations in construction materials (welded steel panels, or steel or aluminium bodies of integral construction), door types (slam-doors or automatic sliding doors), underframe styles, cab fronts and internal layouts. NSE put great emphasis on interior design and the application of its standard livery. Rolling stock of all types was painted in the network's "house colours" of red, white blue and grey horizontal bands, swept up diagonally at the end of each unit.
Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg and his brothers were members of the Georgekreis The German approach was somewhat different from the Social Darwinism taking place in the majority of American society at the time, as the German stereotypes were more idealized than denigrating. However, Americans have also perpetrated the same, problematic idealization in a parallel tradition of Playing Indian - simultaneously mimicking stereotypical ideas and imagery of "Indians" and "Indianness", while also dismissing, and making invisible real, contemporary Indian people. In Germany and America, these hobbyists idealize these archaic and "back to the roots" stereotypes of Native Americans. Stefan George, a charismatic networker and author, saw (and studied) Indians as role models of his own cosmogony, using ecstatic and unmediated experiences to provide a sacred space for himself and his disciples.
From 1961 he was involved in the periodic organisation of illicit exhibitions by his wide circle of friends and contacts in East Germany's world of experimental arts. Appointment of Erich Honecker as head of state in 1971 was followed by a period of cultural liberalisation in the German Democratic Republic, and Rehfeldt, already an inveterate networker domestically, came into contact with the international Mail art movements through his association with Klaus Groh. He quickly succeeded in building up an international network across East and West Europe that also took in the United States and Latin America, becoming n the process a contact point for members of the East German artistic community interested in finding what was going on in the wider world. In addition he entered into correspondence based relationships with Nam June Paik, Wolf Vostell, Robert Filliou, Horst Tress and Dick Higgins.
The Class 165 and 166 "Networker Turbo" units—the first of which were delivered in September 1991, before the Class 465 and 466 stock—were diesel units with slightly longer bodies and based on technology used in British Rail's long established Sprinter trains. They were used on the Chiltern Main Line and (from 1992) the Great Western Main Line and its branches, where they proved to be much quicker and more reliable than the old diesel units they replaced. Overall 78 vehicles went to Chiltern and 174 to the Great Western routes out of and the North Downs Line. Then 164 dual-voltage Class 365 units were built for – (Fen Line) services and long-distance services in Kent; the last units in these classes entered service just before the end of the NSE era in 1994.
According to Charles Moore, former editor of The Daily Telegraph, in 2008 Ali is a "leading Muslim networker" in Britain who described Al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki in 2008 as, "one of my favourite speakers...," and "blogged in favour of a man who argued that it was a duty under jihad to kill British and American troops in Iraq." Ali "dissociated himself from al Awlaki" in the wake of the 2009 Fort Hood shooting. Ali has denied that the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and the 2017 Westminster attack were terrorism. In 2009, Ali was suspended as a civil servant in the Treasury after he praised Abdullah Yusuf Azzam, Osama bin Laden's key mentor, and wrote approvingly on his blog of Azzam's son saying that as a Muslim he is religiously obliged to kill British soldiers in Iraq.
The easiest way to tell the two makes apart: The BREL unit on the right features air vents above the windows whilst the Metro Cammell unit on the left does not. Both manufacturers' units look similar in design; the major differences are the lack of aircraft-style overhead air vents on those produced by Metro-Cammell (465/2), and the BREL (465/0) and ABB (465/1) units also feature slightly different dot matrix displays on the front and rear of the train to show the route number and destination, they also have different traction motors with the BREL units having Brush Traction motors whilst the Metro Cammell units have their own traction motors. There are other minor differences in door switches and audible chimes, window shapes and exterior panelling. The maximum speed of a Class 465 Networker is Connex South Eastern: Train Operating Manual Classes 365,465,466.
Keays first choice for bass guitar was Beeb Birtles of Adelaide band Zoot and later of Little River Band but Birtles declined. On the flight home, Keays found himself seated next to artist manager Darryl Sambell, who was then enjoying the success of his protégé Johnny Farnham with his No. 1 hit single, "Sadie (The Cleaning Lady)". Keays and the flamboyant Sambell hit it off, and Sambell took over the band's management, which was a mixed blessing: he was a master networker and had a flair for getting publicity; he was also a partner in the newly formed AMBO booking agency, which proved helpful for concert bookings; but in the long run Sambell was more interested in Farnham's career and the day-to-day management duties gradually fell to band members. Sambell's pop tastes were also were at odds with the developing progressive direction of the band's music.
An economic case can be made for replacing DC electrification with AC when the trackside equipment reaches the end of its life as long as the rolling stock is capable of conversion and costly infrastructure works are not needed. Some lines, such as the Merseyrail tunnels in Liverpool and the Thames Tunnel in the East London Railway may not be suitable for conversion. As London's suburban trains such the Networker and the Class 455 are not suitable are conversion but the outer-suburban Desiro and Electrostar are, conversion of the outer suburban lines with trains changing mode en route is considered the best option. The third rail electrification between Basingstoke and Weymouth needs renewal in the next ten years. In the 2012 High Level Output Specification the Department of Transport asked the rail industry to present plans to convert the line from Basingstoke to Southampton Docks by 2019 as part of a new electrified route from North to South and as a pilot conversion project.
A pair of Chiltern Railways Class 172/1 No. 172104 and No. 172102 at London Marylebone The interior of a Chiltern Railways Class 172/1 Chiltern Railways has obtained four two-car trains in the same order as that of London Overground to supplement the current Class 165 Networker Turbos on its routes from London Marylebone, originally due to be delivered from late 2010. They do not have the tripcock safety system installed—unlike the rest of the Chiltern Railways fleet—as the design of the bogie being used (based on the B5005 found on Class 220 Voyager and Class 222 Meridian trains) means there is no place for the brackets to be mounted. Thus, they are not able to operate on the Aylesbury via Amersham line whilst the current signalling system is in place unless running in multiple with other units on both the front and rear ends, which are fitted with a tripcock.
At the time, government spending on the railways was restricted due to the looming privatisation and eventually, when funding was not forthcoming, the order was cancelled, and 21 second-hand 308s from Network SouthEast were used in the interim before the s were delivered in 2001.Electric Multiple Unit Class 333, UK, Siemens The units are known for a distinctive whine made during acceleration or deceleration, rising/falling through multiple phases falsely suggestive of a motor connected to a gearbox with a great many ratios, caused by use of a gate turn-off thyristor-based inverter as part of the traction control circuitry that drives the 3-phase AC motors, a common setup in the early to mid 1990s which is notably also present in the Networker family of electric multiple units. The "gear-changing" effect is produced by the simplification of the PWM pulse pattern so as not to overload the thyristor, which switches at lower frequencies than later implementations of the variable-frequency drive and hence produces a lower-pitched sound.
He spoke Austrian dialect and became known as a networker. People whom he met at this time and before and who later helped him in his career included Hermann Göring (Mühlmann was friends with his sisters, who lived in the Salzburg area, and there is a story, which he denied, that he helped Göring to escape from Germany after the failure of the Beerhall Putsch in Munich in 1923) and Arthur Seyss-Inquart.Petropoulos, Faustian Bargain, pp. 174–75. The Austrian Nazi Party was banned in July 1934 after the murder of Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss, and Mühlmann always denied having been a member then or earlier; however, both American Intelligence and Nazi sources state that he was an early member, and in 1935 he and five others were arrested in Salzburg and charged with being Nazis; the charge against Mühlmann was reduced from high treason to 'membership in a secret society' and his sentence reduced to time served, but according to a report by Ernst Kaltenbrunner, the original sentence was 20 years.
The cars led different lives after being withdrawn. The two driving trailers (and the intermediate trailer of the three-car set together with one trailer from the four-car set) were used by Network SouthEast as part of the Class 457 Networker development train. Both the driving cars subsequently passed to the Electric Railway Museum, Warwickshire, one being resold in 2004 to the Eversholt Rail Group. There was a plan for a driving motor to be saved also but, after being stored at Eastleigh Works for many years (still in blue and grey livery), both driving motors of 002 and one of 001 were scrapped in May 2003."Class 210s scrapped" Rail issue 464 25 June 2003 page 67 One of the TSOs (67400, formerly 60400) is currently in class 455 set 455 912, as a result of the original vehicle being written off with accident damage, and the other two have been scrapped. A DTSO from set 210 002 was inserted into set 455 913, in 2013, after being rebuilt at Wolverton railway works to replace a carriage destroyed in an accident."Repairs to 5913 completed" Today's Railways UK issue 138 June 2013 page 66 The vehicle (67301, formerly 60301) was converted to a 455 MSO.
She was a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board from 1988 to 1990, a legal assessor of the General Medical Council and the General Dental Council, and a member of the Parole Board from 1990. She was Director of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) from 1990 to 1992, during investigations of Barlow Clowes, Blue Arrow, Robert Maxwell's Mirror Group, and Polly Peck. During that period, the SFO was investigating a company set up by her brother-in-law David Mills, then husband of Labour cabinet minister Tessa Jowell, in connection with bribery allegations against Silvio Berlusconi, but declined to investigate Mills himself.David Mills: The networker, The Independent, 25 February 2006 David Mills was later found guilty of accepting a cash bribe from Berlusconi, but the conviction was quashed by Italy's Supreme Court of Cassation."Tessa Jowell's husband David Mills jailed for four years over Silvio Berlusconi bribe", The Daily Telegraph (London), 18 February 2009"Background: Tessa Jowell, David Mills and Silvio Berlusconi", The Guardian (London), 17 February 2009 From 1992 to 1998 she was Director of Public Prosecutions, the first woman to hold that position. As DPP she also served as the second head of the Crown Prosecution Service, with 6,000 staff considering the prosecution of 1.4 million cases each year.
