Although English has no committee or academy or board that reviews new words for suitability, there are a few loose guidelines that will help you become a successful neologist.

The term neologism is first attested in English in 1772, borrowed from French néologisme (1734). being called the "neologist-in-chief". In an academic sense, there is no professional Neologist, because the study of such things (cultural or ethnic vernacular, for example) is interdisciplinary. Anyone such as a lexicographer or an etymologist might study neologisms, how their uses span the scope of human expression, and how, due to science and technology, they spread more rapidly than ever before in the present times.

In November 1940, Iron Guards damaged the synagogue, smashing the stained glass, furniture, and organ. During World War II, the building was used as a gym. After the war, it was renovated, and in 1949 the Neologist and Orthodox factions reunited. After the establishment of the State of Israel, the majority of the Jews in Brasov emigrated.

Jews settled in Cegléd in the first half of the 19th Century, forming a Neologist congregation in 1869 and reaching a peak in 1910. A Jewish school was in operation until the Holocaust and a Synagogue was built in 1905. In 1941 all men in the community were sent to forced labor labor in Ukraine where most died. 659 Jews remained.

In 1798 he wrote his first paper, in French: 'Analysis of some magnesium rocks' in Annales de Chimie. Thereafter, in journals both sides of the Channel, he reported analyses of hydrochloric and sulphuric acids, compounds of lead, copper, iron, arsenic, carbon and sulphur and crystals of corundum including sapphires and rubies. He was made a fellow of the Royal Society in 1801 as a result of this work. He wrote a paper in England in 1802 supporting French Neologist-inspired changes to chemical nomenclature.

From 1856, the community's house of worship was in the Joiner-Zwinger, at the site of the later reformed church (where the Aro Palace stands todayAro Palace). Brașov was the first Saxon city in which Jewish merchants also played a role: They wrote a petition which later allowed Jews to settle in other cities in Transylvania. After 1868, the community became neologic. In 1877, it split into an innovative neologist faction led by Aronsohn Löbl and a nationalist orthodox group led by Adler Bernhard.

Religiously, the Neolog rabbinate was influenced primarily by Zecharias Frankel's Positive-Historical School, from which Conservative Judaism evolved as well, although the formal rabbinical leadership had little sway over the largely assimilationist communal establishment and congregants. Their rift with the traditionalist and conservative Orthodox Jews was institutionalized following the 1868–1869 Hungarian Jewish Congress, and they became a de facto separate denomination. The Neologs remained organizationally independent in those territories ceded under the terms of the 1920 Treaty of Trianon, and are still the largest group among Hungary's Jews. A Neolog is also called a "Neologist", and the ideology is Neology (or Neologism).

Felipe Ehrenberg (27 June 1943, Tlacopac, Mexico City, 1943 – 15 May 2017) was a Mexican artist who worked in painting, drawing, printmaking and performance, among other mediums. He also published books and magazines. Ehrenberg's artistic career of more than 50 years covered the conceptual art of the seventies, including mail art and mimeography, a neographical technique of which he was a pioneer. His multifaceted personality rendered a classical classification of his work difficult, so he defined himself as a neologist since the seventies; the term itself is a neologism which underlines the experimental characteristics of his work.

Ferenc Kazinczy (in older English: Francis Kazinczy,Philological Society (Great Britain): Transactions of the Philological Society -PAGE: 33, October 27, 1759 – August 23, 1831) was a Hungarian author, poet, translator, neologist, the most indefatigable agent in the regeneration of the Hungarian language and literature at the turn of the 19th century. Today his name is connected with the extensive Language Reform of the 19th century, when thousands of words were coined or revived, enabling the Hungarian language to keep up with scientific progress and become an official language of the nation in 1844. For his linguistic and literary works he is regarded as one of the cultural founders of the Hungarian Reform Era along with Dávid Baróti Szabó, Ferenc Verseghy, György Bessenyei, Mátyás Rát and János Kis.

Since 2012 he has taught philosophy and cultural studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK), where he directs the newly established Studium Generale general-studies program. Han is the author of sixteen books, the most recent of which are treatises on what he terms a "society of tiredness" (Müdigkeitsgesellschaft), a "society of transparency" (Transparenzgesellschaft), and on his neologist concept of shanzhai, which seeks to identify modes of deconstruction in contemporary practices of Chinese capitalism. Han's current work focuses on transparency as a cultural norm created by neoliberal market forces, which he understands as the insatiable drive toward voluntary disclosure bordering on the pornographic. According to Han, the dictates of transparency enforce a totalitarian system of openness at the expense of other social values such as shame, secrecy, and trust.
