Menken is best known for his scores and songs for films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. His scores and songs for The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), and Pocahontas (1995) have each won him two Academy Awards. He also composed the scores and songs for Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Newsies (1992), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Hercules (1997), Home on the Range (2004), Enchanted (2007), Tangled (2010), among others.

American Portraits is an anthology radio program which aired on NBC from 1938 to 1951. Premiering February 5, 1938, with the life of Andrew Jackson, the show featured dramatic biographical profiles of such famed figures as Walt Whitman (February 25, 1938), Mark Twain (on April 23, 1938), Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Beecher Stowe. Graham McNamee narrated, Raymond Scudder scripted and Joseph Hauntie was the music conductor. One episode covered the life of Louis Agassiz, the Swiss-born naturalist, physician and professor who studied glaciers, birds and animals and founded a museum of natural history.

He studied music and advanced orchestration at the University of Chicago and DePaul University with Cliff Colnot, New Music Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and music composition with Hans Wurman. In Los Angeles he attended the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music Program, where he studied scoring for motion pictures and television under Christopher Young and Elmer Bernstein, among others. Romayne also studied orchestration and advanced conducting at the University of California, Los Angeles. Two years after graduating from the USC program, Romayne was hired by Joss Whedon to score his series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Rose began his composing and conducting career while still in college in the late 1960s, as assistant music conductor for NBC's The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson, when the show was based in New York. He continued a part-time affiliation with the show until Carson's departure in 1992. Beginning in 1976, one of his first television composing credits was co-writing songs with lyricist Judy Spencer for the CBS television series, Captain Kangaroo. In 1981, he composed the score for the television movie, Thin Ice, and in 1986, he wrote for ABC television's Dick Cavett Show.

On a 1970 tour in Germany, the Cornell University Glee Club from the U.S. met Biebl, who was working for the broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk and responsible for choral music. Conductor Thomas A. Sokol received several of Biebl's compositions, which he performed in the U.S.Michael Slon, Songs from the Hill – A History of the Cornell University Glee Club. When the Chanticleer vocal ensemble made Ave Maria part of their repertoire, it gained popularity. They first performed it in a charity event on 4 December 1989 at the City Hall in San Francisco, then presented it in subsequent Christmas concerts and included it in their tour program the next year.

He has performed various songs for the series, collaborating with RIDER CHIPS on "The people with no name," the second ending theme for Kamen Rider 555, and on the single and with Rin' on "Flashback," the theme song for Kamen Rider Hibiki & The Seven Fighting Demons, as well as provided the voice for the Ghost Driver in Kamen Rider Ghost. He has also collaborated with Avex Trax artists such as AAA, Ayumi Hamasaki, Nami Tamaki, Namie Amuro, Toshinobu Kubota, and most recently Manabu Oshio on the single "Beastie Life" released late 2007. Several other artists he has worked with appear on the second disc for his latest album Music Conductor A·T.

She followed with a cover of Arrows' "I Love Rock 'n' Roll", where Cyrus mounted a red Harley-Davidson Dyna Fat Bob FXDF 2010 that was suspended above the stage and traveled in a semi- oval path across the venue. Performances of "Party in the U.S.A.", which made use of a luggage cart, and "Hovering", which featured Cyrus' older brother Trace Cyrus, rounded off the segment. The sixth segment of the show featured Cyrus performing "Simple Song", in which she dressed in a long, white shirt and a black tuxedo, in order to simulate a music conductor. Midway through the performance, Cyrus stepped onto an elevator that rose eight feet from the stage.

Shock G has toured and performed on stage with George Clinton and P-Funk including a guest performance with Clinton at Woodstock 1999. In 2003, Shock G produced the single "Risky Business" for Los Angeles underground artist Murs, and also appeared in the video, as himself and as Humpty Hump. Murs performed this song live with Shock G at the Paid Dues festival, and also featured him as his stage DJ/music conductor on a 2-month extensive Definitive Jux label U.S. and Canada tour. On January 20, 2009, Shock G's single "Cherry Flava'd Email" was renamed and released as a special edition called "Cherry Flava'd Election" to commemorate the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

He had several aspirations for his future, from dreams of being a paleontologist to being a music conductor, and at college application time, had decided to go into the music field, with recordings and CDs prepared. Instead, after meeting a University of Chicago representative who visited his high school, with their long list of language studies and a variety of other things to choose from, he decided to broaden his interest of studies, feeling that music was too limited. With his best friend Tony, O'Grady regularly travelled to London to socialise with Tony's friend, the classical music conductor John Pritchard, becoming very fond of him. Experimenting, O'Grady had casual sex with a friend and colleague, Diane Jansen. She became pregnant, news which O'Grady discovered in the same week that both his parents suffered heart attacks; his mother made a recovery, but his father died.

Nigel David Rogers (born 21 March 1935) is an English multilingual tenor, music conductor, singing teacher and vocal coach, who has sung in over seventy classical music album recordings in German, French, Italian, Latin and English, mostly of early music, baroque and sacred music, including works by Claudio Monteverdi, Handel, Purcell, and Bach. Singing critics like Melanie Eskenazi describe him as a vocal virtuoso of the local phrasing and decoration (ornamenti) of those particular musical periods exactly as they were practised back then. He is considered a world authority in the field of European early music, the scores of which he helped promote and rescue as a music genre, since the outset of his early career.

Sivan directed three documentary films for Channel 8 of the major Israeli cable network HOT, as part of its film series Israeli Culture Heroes, of which each film documents one Israeli culture hero from a fresh creative angle. The first film, Behind the Strings created in 2001, portrays the image of Klari Sarvash, the first harpist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra through a set of interviews. The second film, Zubin and I created in 2010, follows maestro Zubin Mehta, the Indian/Israeli/American world-famous music conductor. The third film, Alex in Wonderland created in 2012, focuses on Alex Levac the controversial Israeli photojournalist and street photographer, famous for his unique compositions and provocative political views.

It is hoped that harmonica can be recognised as a serious instrument. In June 1995, NUS Harmonica Band was invited by The Chinese Musicians’ Association of China to stage a public concert at the Beijing Concert Hall and to participate in two exchange programmes and seminar with China harmonica counterparts at the Working People's Cultural Palace in Beijing and Shanghai Music Conservatory respectively. The Band also performed at The Central Music Conservatory. The tour was led by the then Co-Director of NUS Centre For the Arts, Dr. Tong Chee Kiong, and Ho was the Deputy Leader and Music Conductor. Ho’s collaborators, Alex Abisheganaden and Josephine Koh Poh Yoong, accompanied the band on the tour.

Jesús Arámbarri Gárate (13 April 1902 in Bilbao – 11 July 1960 in Madrid) was a Spanish classical music conductor and composer native to the Basque Country. Jesús Arámbarri has been classed among the cultural treasures of the region, with Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga, Jesús Guridi, Luís de Pablo, Maurice Ravel, and Pablo de Sarasate. His place in 20th-century classical music is part of a tradition which also includes Isaac Albéniz, José Antonio de Donostia, Manuel de Falla, Felipe Pedrell, Joaquín Rodrigo, Joaquín Turina, and José María Usandizaga. After his early music education at the Bilbao Conservatory of Music, Arámbarri's teachers included Paul Le Flem, Paul Dukas and Vladimir Golschmann in Paris and Felix Weingartner in Basel.

Hans-Otto Borgmann (20 October 1901 – 26 July 1977) was a German film music composer during the Third Reich.The concise Cinegraph: encyclopaedia of German cinema 2009 p52 ed. Hans-Michael Bock, Tim Bergfelder HANS-OTTO BORGMANN "Similar to Max Steiner in Hollywood, composer Borgmann was Germany's foremost exponent of applying the leitmotif technique to film scores during the 1930s and 1940s, ... " He joined UFA as a silent film music conductor in 1928, and became head composer by 1931. A melody he had composed for a documentary on Svalbard island and had become well known was taken up by Hitler Youth leader Baldur von Schirach who wrote new lyrics as "Our flag flutters before us", becoming one of the Hitler Youth's anthems.

Mervyn Edwin Warren (born February 29, 1964) is an American film composer, record producer, music conductor, music arranger, lyricist, songwriter, pianist, and vocalist. Warren is a five-time Grammy Award winner and a 10-time Grammy Award nominee. Warren has written the underscore and songs for many feature and television films and has written countless arrangements in a variety of musical styles for producers Quincy Jones, David Foster, Arif Mardin, and dozens of popular recording artists, including extensive work on Jones' Back on the Block, Q's Jook Joint, and Q: Soul Bossa Nostra. Warren has also produced numerous jazz, pop, R&B;, contemporary Christian, and gospel artists, typically arranging those recordings, often performing on them (on piano, keyboards, or vocals), and often writing or co-writing the melodies and lyrics.

Midler with Dustin Hoffman on Bette Midler TV special (1977) Midler released her debut album, The Divine Miss M, on Atlantic Records in December 1972. The album was co-produced by Barry Manilow, who was Bette's arranger and music conductor at the time. It reached Billboard's Top 10 and became a million-selling Platinum-certified album, earning Midler the 1973 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. It featured three hit singles—"Do You Wanna Dance?", "Friends", and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy"—the third of which became Midler's first No. 1 Adult Contemporary hit. "Bugle Boy" became a successful rock cover of the classic swing tune originally introduced and popularized in 1941 by the Andrews Sisters, to whom Midler has repeatedly referred as her idols and inspiration, as far back as her first appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Other well-known Broadway productions have included Candide (1974), Grind (1975), Pacific Overtures (1976), Side By Side By Sondheim (1977), On the Twentieth Century (1978), Merrily We Roll Along (1981), A Doll's Life (1982), Zorba (1983), The Rink (1984), Pulitzer Prize winner Sunday in the Park with George (1984), Big: the musical (1996), High Society (1998), The Frogs (2004), and 110 in the Shade (2007). Gemignani has been the Musical Director for three separate productions of Sweeney Todd, including the original Broadway and London productions (1979 - 1982), the Royal Opera House production in London (2003-2004) and the 2007 film version with Johnny Depp (music conductor and supervisor).
