The next year Maurice Wilson, a rider he had been mentoring, won the World Grand Championship on the horse Ebony's Senator. Thompson and his wife Marilyn had two daughters, Kathy and Vicki Lynn Thompson.
In 1986, Motes teamed up with Ruthanne Devlin in Miami to form Vulkon Entertainment. The first official Vulkon was held in Orlando in October 1987. Between 1987 and 2007, Vulkon produced 12 Star Trek / Buffy the Vampire Slayer cruises, sailing with 8-15 stars on each cruise under the names "Trekruise", "Seatrek" and "Slayercruise". From 1996 to 2000, Vulkon Entertainment teamed up with actor William Campbell to promote five "Fantasticons".
These run the TinyOS operating system. Follow-on products included the MICA2 (868/916 MHz) and MICAz (2.4 GHz) motes, and the Intel-designed IMOTE2. Crossbow also made a software design platform for its hardware called MoteWorks. Crossbow received awards for these products, including a "Best of Sensors Expo Gold 2006"Report From Sensors Expo Part 1: Best of Sensors Expo Gold Winners – Sensors and the BP Helios Award.
Sun Microsystems Laboratories started research on sensor networks around 2004. After some initial experience using "Motes" from Crossbow Technology, a project began under Roger Meike to design an integrated hardware and software system. Sun sponsored a project at the Art Center College of Design called Autonomous Light Air Vessels in 2005. The first limited-production run of Sun SPOT development kits were released April 2, 2007, after months of delays.
By 1956, the entire operation had consolidated in a new building on Motes Rd., and a companion WMLS-FM signed on the air in December 1959. Thereafter, Liles became sole owner. On September 1, 1980, the stations were purchased by Summit Broadcasting Inc. New owner Joseph V. Windsor, who had been a senior television group executive in Columbus, Ga., moved the WYEA call letters from a television station there to Sylacauga on November 30, 1981.
Still more of an UGS research program, under DARPA, is Smart Dust, which is a program for developing massively parallel networks of hundreds or thousand "motes," on the order of 1 mm3. Another DARPA program is WolfPack, a ground-based electronic warfare system. WolfPack is made up of a "pack" of "wolves." Wolves are distributed electronic detection nodes with location and classification capability, which may use radiofrequency MASINT techniques along with ELINT methods.
Maria Luisa doesn't believe her, and calls her mother to come get her. Later that night Maria Luisa wakes up, hungry after refusing to eat dinner, and notices odd phenomena, such as a hissing coming from the moonlight streaming through the window, and dust motes swirling through the air. These gradually take the shape of Mrs. Moonlight, who attempts to coax Maria Luisa out of the shadows, waiting for the changing moonlight to reveal her.
We are not suffering from hallucinations, though, for the appearance is grounded in the way the world is ordered – in the behaviour of light, dust motes, water particles, etc. For Leibniz, there are two main categories of well-founded phenomena: the ordinary world of individual objects and their interactions, and more abstract phenomena such as space, time, and causality. This is also found in his expression of pre-established harmony being the basis of causation.
"Loved Me Back to Life" is a song by Canadian singer Celine Dion. It was released on 3 September 2013 by Columbia Records as the first single from her eleventh English-language studio album of the same name (2013). The song was co-written by Sia, Hasham "Sham" Hussain and Denarius "Motesart" Motes, and produced by Sham and Motesart. The official live music video was uploaded on Vevo on 18 September 2013.
While starring on Twin Peaks, Boyle portrayed Sarah in Clint Eastwood's action film The Rookie (1990), Rosarita in Adam Rifkin's satirical comedy film The Dark Backward (1991), Mara Motes in Michael Karbelnikoff's crime film Mobsters (1991), and Sandra Gladstone in the romantic thriller Eye of the Storm (1991). Boyle also appeared in the television films Terror on Highway 91 (1989), The Preppie Murder (1989), as well as episodes of The Hidden Room and May Wine.
TSMP, an acronym for Time Synchronized Mesh Protocol, was developed by Dust Networks as a communications protocol for self-organizing networks of wireless devices called motes. TSMP devices stay synchronized to each other and communicate in time-slots, similar to other TDM (time-division multiplexing) systems. Such deterministic communication allows the devices to stay extremely low power, as the radios only turn on for the periods of scheduled communication. The protocol is designed to operate very reliably in a noisy environment.

The cave cluster in Uplistsikhe's central part Caves and tourists The town was cut into a flat, straight, but slightly inclining mountain. Nearly straight western wall went down to the river. Outside protection of the town was also facilitated by two motes, northern and eastern, with wall built into them. The river itself closed access to the town from the south, but it was possible to get into the town through a 3 m tunnel that functioned as water supply.
In this case, all of the domain walls are at 180 degrees. When there are no impurities, the reversal process of the bulk magnet is equivalent to lone- domain motes, where coherent rotation is the dominant mechanism. However, due to the imperfection of fabricating, impurities may be introduced in the magnets, which form nuclei. In this case, because the impurities may have lower anisotropy or misaligned easy axes, their directions of magnetization are easier to spin, which breaks the 180° domain wall configuration.
The survivors continued upwards, through the arrows "as thick as motes in a sun beam", according to an unnamed contemporary quoted by Nicholson, and on to the waiting spears. The Scottish army broke, the camp followers made off with the horses and the fugitives were pursued by the mounted English knights. The Scottish casualties numbered in thousands, including Douglas and five earls dead on the field. Scots who surrendered were killed on Edward's orders and some drowned as they fled into the sea.
The principle components of the neural dust system include the sensor nodes (neural dust), which aim to be in the 10-100 µm3 scale, and a sub-cranial interrogator, which would sit below the dura mater and would provide both power and a communication link to the neural dust. The neural dust motes consist of a pair of recording electrodes, a custom transistor, and a piezoelectric sensor. The piezoelectric crystal is capable of recording brain activity from the extracellular space, and converting it into an electrical signal.
O'Connor conceived the story during the early stages of working on her first novel, Wise Blood. The character of Ruby's younger brother Rufus later grew into Wise Bloods Hazel Motes, and Ruby's neighbor, Laverne Watts, was an early rendition of Wisebloods Leora Watts.Whitt 1995, p. 56Orvell 1991, p 72 The story was first published as "The Woman on the Stairs" in the August 1949 issue of Tomorrow, and was later published as "A Stroke of Good Fortune" in the spring 1953 issue of Shenandoah.

Vulkon Entertainment was an entertainment company which specialized in science fiction-related fan conventions. Founded by Joe Motes and Ruthanne Devlin in 1986, Vulkon produced its first convention in 1987 (making Vulkon and its predecessor Trekon one of the oldest and longest-running conventions in the state of Florida). Vulkon Entertainment organized five to ten conventions each year in many cities across America, as well as science fiction-themed cruises. The conventions were often Star Trek-centric, but usually included actors from other science fiction television series.
He had previously joined writing collective in Los Angeles, California; he theorised that being a part of that aided him in taking more risks with the material on The Morning After. It explored the themes of introspection, the vulnerability of life, and destruction. The opening song "Go the Shakes" is a slow-tempo blues-esque track; it talks about an alcohol-fuelled assault with the man begging his wife for forgiveness. "Dust Motes" features slide guitar from Gott and sees Booth sing in a falsetto.
Due to the extremely small size of the neural dust motes, it would be impractical and nearly impossible to create a functional transmitter in the sensor itself. Thus backscatter communication, adopted from radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, is employed. In RFID passive, battery-less tags are capable of absorbing and reflecting radio frequency (RF) energy when in close proximity to a RF interrogator, which is a device that transmits RF energy. As they reflect the RF energy back to the interrogator, they are capable of modulating the frequency, and in doing so, encoding information.
Like the original, Iron Banner lasts for one week and features milestones to complete daily. Players must have completed the campaign and be level 20 to access Iron Banner, which features the returning Lord Saladin from the original game as its NPC. In Destiny 2's second year a new PvP activity was released Called Gambit. This activity puts two teams of four against each other to defeat AI opponents from one of the games different faction's/ races (Cabal, Fallen, Hive, Vex, or new with forsaken Scorn), collect their motes and then bank them.
The central feature of the work is the recessed window, through which shafts of dust-filled light shine diagonally down into the greyness of the room. The lack of colour is typical of Hammershøi. The overall impression is that the painting portrays a dark, silent psychological space although in fact the room was located in a busy part of the city, close to the noise of docks and factories.Michael Glover, "Great Works: Sunbeams or Sunshine. In these levels, the game optionally assists the player with a course trajectory tool that plots the mote's course, up to a short time in the future. Force levels are complicated in various ways, including levels with mutually repelling attractors, attractors bouncing randomly around an area full of motes, several "strata" of bodies in retrograde rotation about an attractor, and attractors orbiting other attractors. On June 25, 2012 Hemisphere Games announced the release of a multiplayer version of Osmos for iOS on the company blog and from the game's Facebook Page for July 19, 2012.
The first plutonium at Aldermaston was cast in an argon atmosphere in a cerium sulphide crucible. The other radioactive element in use was polonium, which was used in the initiator. It was one of the parts of the Manhattan Project that the British mission had not been involved in, and little was known about its chemistry and properties, except that it had a half life of 138 days. A disturbing discovery was that motes of polonium could propel themselves through the air using their own alpha particle emissions.
Mottisfont is a village and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England, approximately 7 km north west of Romsey. The village is best known as the location of Mottisfont Abbey. Much of the surrounding land, which is part of the Mottisfont Estate, and several other buildings in the village, are in the care of the National Trust. The unusual name is probably derived from the Old English motes funta, meaning 'spring near the confluence' or 'spring of the moot' or possibly 'spring of the stone' (from the Old English motere: sonte).

In the late afternoon of December 29, 2016, there was an armed home invasion and kidnapping at Rangerette Director Dana Blair's home. The assailant kidnapped Blair's daughter, who at the time was a Freshman Rangerette. Blair's daughter escaped her captor a little over an hour later. The assailant, Nancy Alice Moats, was arrested on a charge of aggravated kidnapping and released on $500,000 bond on December 30, 2016. On June 22, 2017, Motes was indicted by a Gregg County Grand Jury, and faced first degree felonies in three charges encompassed in two counts for aggravated kidnapping.
This allows for self-forming and self-healing. The multi-chip modules used to drive these networks are divided into 'gateways' and 'motes' (or mote modules). Gateways then tie back into larger networks used to make decisions within large industrial plants (oil refineries, chemical plants, produce facilities, etc.). The company has evolved from using a proprietary protocol called TSMP (Time Synchronized Mesh Protocol), to WirelessHART to launching an Internet Protocol-based initiative, in support of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), focused on the use of IP networking in urban infrastructure, building automation, utility metering, and other wireless sensor networking applications.
"Loved Me Back to Life" is a power ballad sung in a minor key, backed by a chorus that features a dubstep beat drop. It was co-written by Sia Furler who, among many achievements, provided vocals for David Guetta's "Titanium" and wrote the lyrics and melody for Rihanna's "Diamonds". The production duties were handled by Hasham "Sham" Hussain and Denarius "Motesart" Motes, who are also responsible for "Is Anybody Out There?" by K'naan and Nelly Furtado. "Loved Me Back to Life" premiered on the radio on 3 September 2013 and was released as a digital download on the same day.
Writing very organized opinions, Street was one of the first judges in the territory to number the points he made in his decisions. Many cases of the day involved water rights, mining and the railroads. Street was forced to disqualify himself from a number of cases that came before the court because he had been involved in the case as an attorney before being appointed to the bench. Examples of Street's railroad related cases are Roberts v. Smith, 5 Arizona 368 (1898), which involved a dispute where the plaintiff had been ejected from a train where he believed himself to be a passenger on a freight train, and Motes v.

In "The Lamia and Lord Cromis", tegeus-Cromis (who recurs in "Lords of Misrule" and is the protagonist of The Pastel City), a dwarf, and a man named Dissolution Kahn travel to a poisonous bog to destroy a dangerous Lamia. The mission ends in confusion and despair. In the story "Viriconium Knights", the elderly swordsman Osgerby Practal is defeated in a duel by Ignace Retz, an unpopular servant of the Queen. Retz uses a power knife, a relic of previous times when high technology was used, but which is now ill understood; the badly-functioning power knife gives off floating motes which harm the wielder.
Nevertheless, there is no documentary, epigraphic and archaeological evidence capable of accurately determining the precise timing of its construction.J. Mauluquer De Motes, (1956), Carta Arqueológica de España, Diputación Provincial de Salamanca, nº 181 Due to the constructive evolution of this stretch of Roman road (completed in all its sections in year 19 BC), it is possible that the bridge was built approximately during Nero's mandate. Other historians date it from the time of Trajan and Hadrian (the bridge's structure has similarities with the Aqueduct of Segovia).C. Morán Bardón, B. Students were taught regular academic curricula for the first half of the day and then studied performance arts for the second half. The theater was founded by John Clark Donahue along with John Burton Davidson, Shirley Diercks, Martha Pierce Boesing and Beth Leinerson. Jon Cranny served as the theater's second artistic director from 1984 until 1997, when Peter C. Brosius became the theater's third artistic director alongside the theatre's managing directors: Theresa Eyring (1999–2007), Gabriella Callichio (2007–11), Tim Jennings (2011–15) and Kimberly Motes (16-present). Støvkornenes dans i solstrålerne (Dust Motes Dancing in the Sunbeams) by Vilhelm Hammershøi (1900) Wilhelm Hansen established his collection of Danish art covering the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century during the period of 1892 to 1916. The Danish Golden Age is comprehensively represented by works by, amongst others: Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, Christen Købke, Johan Thomas Lundbye, P.C. Skovgaard and Wilhelm Marstrand. The main part of the collection, however, testifies to Wilhelm Hansen’s interest for contemporary art with works by artists such as: L.A. Ring, Vilhelm Hammershøi and Theodor Philipsen, not forgetting the Fynbo Painters Johannes Larsen, Fritz Syberg and Peter Hansen, Wilhelm Hansen’s childhood friend.
Integrating microelectronics onto thin, flexible substrates has led to the development of a cardiac patch that adheres to the curvilinear surface of the heart by surface tension alone for measuring cardiac electrophysiology, and electronic tattoos for measuring skin temperature and bioelectricity. Wireless recording of electrophysiological signals is possible through addition of a piezocrystal to a circuit of two recording electrodes and a single transistor on an implanted micro-device. An external transducer emits pulses of ultrasonic energy} which impinge on the piezocrystal, and extracellular voltage changes are backscattered ultrasonically by the piezocrystal, allowing for measurement. A network of so-called "neural dust" motes can map signals throughout a region of the body where the micro-sensors are implanted.
The decipherment was based on the existence of a large number of coin legends (some of them bearing Latin inscriptions) that could easily be linked to ancient place names known from Roman and Greek sources. There are two variants of the northeastern Iberian script: the dual variant is almost exclusive to the ancient inscriptions from the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE and its distinctive characteristic is the use of the dual system. This system was discovered by Joan Maluquer de Motes in 1968 and allows differentiation of the occlusive signs (dentals and velars) between voiced and unvoiced by the use of an additional stroke. The simple sign represents the voiced value whilst the complex sign represents the unvoiced value.
The double CD From a Man of Mysteries: A Steve Wynn Tribute was released by the German label Blue Rose in 2004 and features Wynn's songs performed by the likes of Concrete Blonde, the Silos, Chuck Prophet, The Minus 5, Russ Tolman of True West and others. On August 26, 2007, Wynn debuted a new band, Hazel Motes (the same name as the protagonist of Flannery O'Connor's novel Wise Blood), at Magnetic Fields in Brooklyn, New York. In 2008, he formed The Baseball Project with Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey, and his wife, drummer Linda Pitmon. In 2014, Wynn took part in the making of Whipping The Devil Back, the second album by the Italian singer-songwriter Guy Littell.
A resource kernel provides reservations on how often system resources can be consumed. For example, a task might only be allowed to execute 10 ms every 150 ms (CPU reservation), or a node might only be allowed to transmit 10 network packets per minute (network reservation). These reservations form a virtual energy budget to ensure a node meets its designed battery lifetime as well as protecting a failed node from generating excessive network traffic. Nano-RK is open source, is written in C and runs on the Atmel-based FireFly sensor networking platform, the MicaZ motes as well as the MSP430 processor.Anand Eswaran and Anthony Rowe and Raj Rajkumar, “FireFly: A Time Synchronized Real-Time Sensor Networking Platform” The following article embedded.
The fortified town of Grol, present-day Groenlo, was a small, but relatively important stronghold along the eastern border of the Dutch Republic. Groenlo formed a crucial link between the Dutch cities that were members of the Hanseatic League, such as Deventer, Kampen, Zwolle, and Zutphen, and the Holy Roman Empire. Situated in a difficultly passable region, Groenlo developed extensive fortifications that from the late Middle Ages were constantly improved, so that by 1595 the medieval brick city wall was itself surrounded with motes and bastions and armed with cannons. In 1580, after the Spanish took control of the provinces of Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, and Overijssel, Groenlo, which itself lay in the bordering province of Guelders, was taken over by Spanish troops as well.
The most well known parallel the site has is Silbury Hill in Wiltshire, but is closer in size to the less well known sites at Conquer Barrow, Willy Howe and Wold Newton. The mound was originally built with stepped sides on top of a sand dune. Excavation between 1999-2002 revealed a round cairn at the top of the mound, similar to the nearby Mid Gleniron A. The mound was assumed to be a medieval mote for a castle, but is different in structure and location to the motes in the surrounding area. In 2002, excavation and optically stimulated luminescence dating showed that the site was prehistoric, and probably placed within a date bracket associated with the Dunragit complex of monuments to the north.
Hazel "Haze" Motes is a 22-year-old veteran of an unspecified war and a preacher of the Church of Truth Without Christ, a religious organization of his own creation, which is against any belief in God, an afterlife, sin, or evil. The protagonist comes across various characters such as teenager Sabbath Lilly Hawks, her grandfather Asa Hawks who is a conventional side-walk preacher; and a local boy, Enoch Emery, who finds a "new" Jesus at the local museum in the form of the tiny corpse of a shrunken South American Indian. Hoover Shoates is a promoter who wants to manage Hazel's career as a prophet while Hazel's landlady falls in love with him. The director of the film appears in several fantasy sequences as Hazel's grandfather.
The WSN is built of "nodes" – from a few to several hundreds or even thousands, where each node is connected to one (or sometimes several) sensors. Each such sensor network node has typically several parts: a radio transceiver with an internal antenna or connection to an external antenna, a microcontroller, an electronic circuit for interfacing with the sensors and an energy source, usually a battery or an embedded form of energy harvesting. A sensor node might vary in size from that of a shoebox down to the size of a grain of dust, although functioning "motes" of genuine microscopic dimensions have yet to be created. The cost of sensor nodes is similarly variable, ranging from a few to hundreds of dollars, depending on the complexity of the individual sensor nodes.
TinyDB is a query processing system for extracting information from a network of TinyOS sensors. Unlike existing solutions for data processing in TinyOS, TinyDB does not require embedded C code for sensors. Instead, TinyDB provides a simple, SQL-like interface to specify the data desired, along with additional parameters, as the rate at which data should be refreshed— much like a traditional database.SAMUEL R. MADDEN, MICHAEL J. FRANKLIN, OSEPH M. HELLERSTEIN, WEI HONG, "TinyDB: an acquisitional query processing system for sensor networks", Journal ACM Transactions on Database Systems (TODS),Volume 30 Issue 1, March 2005 Given a query specifying data interests, TinyDB collects that data from motes in the environment, filters it, aggregates it, and routes it to a PC. TinyDB does this via power-efficient in-network processing algorithms.
The piece can be dated to the 3rd century B.C. This ceramic vessel was donated to the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Barcelona.
