The casalia could have European, local Christian or Muslim inhabitants, and at least one is recorded as being inhabited by Samaritans. The smallest had just a few houses, while the largest were practically towns, although they lacked municipal institutions. Each had a manor house and a church, while most possessed common mills, ovens, cisterns, dovecotes, threshing floors, crofts and pastures. Some were associated with vineyards, springs, Bedouins and even defensive towers.

The story takes place in and around a seventeenth century Polish convent. A priest, Father Józef Suryn (Mieczyslaw Voit), arrives at a small inn for a night's rest. He has been sent to investigate a case of demonic possession at the nearby convent after the local priest, Father Garniec, was burnt at the stake for sexually tempting the nuns. The next day, Father Suryn sets out for the convent, where he meets the abbess, Mother Joan (Lucyna Winnicka), said to be the most possessed of all the nuns.

The Plumulitid machaeridians would have moved across the surface of the sea floor using parapodia, whereas the fully armoured Turrelepids and Lepidocoelids burrowed in a peristaltic fashion reminiscent of their evolutionary cousins, the earthworms. This burrowing role has subjected them to the same evolutionary pressures which affect burrowing bivalves; convergent evolution as a result of their shared function probably contributed to early suggestions that the machaeridians should be classified with the molluscs.

Between January 13 and November 7, 2015, Mindelense shared their most possessed super cup titles together with Batuque. Mindelense headed to the 2016 São Vicente Cup final and faced Salamansa, a club based on the north of the island, Mindelense lost to Salamansa 0–3. As island or regional championship, Mindelense again challenged Salamansa and defeated that club in the regional Super Cup match on October 8 and claimed their second consecutive super cup. Mindelense, again qualified as champion made their sixth super cup appearance on October 16, 2017, the match was the only second meeting with the clubs at the regional super cup, the club attempted their third straight title, that had failed as they lost to FC Derby 2–1.
