Boucicault was a great producer of comedy and paid great attention to detail. In Australia he set a standard that has seldom, if ever, been surpassed. He was a most finished actor in a wide range of parts and in his later years became the legitimate successor of Sir John Hare in playing old men's parts.

In 1851, Shaw spent much of the year with John Augustus Sutter at Hock Farm on the Feather River as the family portrait painter and general business agent. Following a brief engagement to Sutter's daughter, Ann "Eliza" Sutter (1828 - March,1895), Shaw returned to San Francisco, and later that year, with his brother Seth Shaw and Willard Allen, settled on Table Bluff, near Loleta. In summer 1852, they moved across the Eel River and began clearing the area where the town of Ferndale, California would later be incorporated. In the rainy winter of 1852-1853, twelve men, including Seth Kinman, stayed with the Shaws because theirs was the most finished cabin.

While speculation about new Disney theme parks and attractions continued, on August 15, 2015, Disney CEO, Bob Iger announced what had been long anticipated, that Disney would build two Star Wars themed lands, at both Disneyland and at Disney Hollywood Studios. In July 2017, Disney announced that these new lands would be called, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. During the 2018 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade television special, Iger introduced a video teaser showing the most finished work to date. The family went to the town square where the procession was to form to go out to the cemetery that had not been completed yet. At the head of the procession rode Lincoln on a gray horse preceded by a military band that was the first the young boy had ever seen. Rathvon describes Lincoln as so tall and with such long legs that they went almost to the ground; he also mentions the long eloquent speech given by Edward Everett of Massachusetts whom Rathvon accurately described as the "most finished orator of the day".

Weaver at first thought the project would be "child's play" and "a day's job," but when he went to the library, he was surprised to find that while there were many works by Melville there was almost nothing about him. The 2014 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup was the ninth Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup season, an open-wheel motor racing series for emerging young racing drivers based in Europe. It was contested over 7 race meetings and a total of 15 races – 17 scheduled races, with 2 cancelled due to weather conditions – commencing on 12 April at Monza and concluding on 20 September at the Nürburgring. The championship title was won by British driver Ben Barnicoat, a member of McLaren's young driver programme, after recording top-ten finishes in all but two of the season's races. Barnicoat, who won races at Hockenheim and Most, finished 16 points clear of his closest rival, Louis Delétraz, who was the winner of the opening race of the season, at Monza.

The Dresden version was commissioned in 1527 by Giovanni Battista Della Palla as a gift for Francis I of France, who around ten years earlier had hosted the artist at the Palace of Fontainebleau. Della Palla was imprisoned before the work could be completed and just before the artist's death, after which three versions were made, as recorded in Vasari's Lives of the Artists, with different dimensions and levels of finish. The work now in Cleveland was probably a test-piece left incomplete, whilst the Dresden version (the largest and most finished) was possibly intended for Francis but was instead seized by Alfonso d'Avalos, marchese del Vasto, who had his monogram added on the rock in the foreground. The Dresden version was in the Estense collection in Modena, from which it was sold in 1746 in the Dresden Sale.

In this cave the surface of the limestone has a high degree of polish probably from the friction of particles contained in the muddy waters which flow through it in floods and which flow down from the sandstone and argillaceous strata of the coal rocks; and also- If we except the cave of Dunmore in the county of Kilkenny which is mentioned in the Report on the Leinster coal district, none is more curious than the cave called Pulgulm or the Pigeonhole, three miles to the south of Swanlinbar in the County of Cavan. This cavern is narrow but very lofty and more than half a mile in length in a northern direction, in a southern direction it descends very rapidly. Its length was not ascertained from the difficulty of proceeding. The lower, and many of the loose rocks which cover the bottom of the cave, are as highly polished on the surface as the most finished piece of marble.
