Serpentinite is a rock composed of one or more serpentine group minerals, the name originating from the similarity of the texture of the rock to that of the skin of a snake. Minerals in this group, which are rich in magnesium and water, light to dark green, greasy looking and slippery feeling, are formed by serpentinization, a hydration and metamorphic transformation of ultramafic rock from the Earth's mantle. The mineral alteration is particularly important at the sea floor at tectonic plate boundaries.

Giratina is one of the legendary Pokémon trio of Sinnoh, alongside Dialga and Palkia. Giratina has a long, platinum-colored, segmented body with six legs, and has ghostly wings with red spikes. Six rib- like yellow rings encircle its neck, and the pale yellow ornament on its head resembles a human collarbone. When it is in its own realm, the Distortion World, or holding a Griseous Orb, it takes on its , which differs from the "Altered Forme" ( in Japanese) it takes in the real world. This form is a more serpentine creature with a beak-like mouth, long spiked “streamers” instead of wings, and spikes in place of legs.

For a time, LA 92 followed a more serpentine path through Acadia Parish east of Morse and passed through Lyons Point, located at a junction with LA 13.
