Barigozzi taught genetics at the University of Milan in 1948, and was a scholar of the transmission of hereditary traits using Drosophila and Artemia as model organisms. An adviser of the Centro Lombardo per l'incremento della Orto-floro-frutticoltura in Minoprio, Italy, he promoted genetic research as a member of the Italian National Research Council's committee for the study of genetics in 1961, of the scientific board of the National Genetics Centre in Rome in 1963, and other Italian and foreign academies. His more proficient pupils include the geneticists Ercole Ottaviano, Giuseppe Gavazzi, and Alessandro Camussi.

There has been debate among linguists as to whether Chochenyo is a language or a dialect. It falls under the ISO 639-3 code for "Northern Ohlone," which also includes Ramaytush, Tamyen, Awaswas, and Chalon, but Medina and the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe consider it to be a distinct language. Medina was introduced to Chochenyo as a child, but began learning the language deeply around 2010 by studying the field notes produced by J. P. Harrington, who worked with native Chochenyo speakers in the early 20th century to document their language. By 2012 Medina could speak Chochenyo with others, and as he became more proficient, he began teaching his younger brother their ancestor's language as well.

As Cayard grew and became more proficient in sailing, he gained the notice of Tom Blackaller, who invited Cayard to crew for him on his Star class sailboat. There were doubts even during the drafting process that the Māori chiefs would be able to understand the concept of relinquishing "sovereignty". Realising that a treaty in English could not be understood, debated or agreed to by Māori, Hobson instructed missionary Henry Williams and his son Edward Marsh Williams, who was more proficient in Te Reo, the Māori language, to translate the document, and this was done overnight on 4 February. Niklas Sundin (born 13 August 1974 in Sweden), is a musician of the band Mitochondrial Sun, but was best known as the lead guitarist of band Dark Tranquillity (1989–2020). He was also one of the guitarists in the band Laethora (2005–2010). In Dark Tranquillity, he was one of only two members (the other being drummer Anders Jivarp) to maintain his musical role, unlike the other members who have or had switched. He also wrote some of the lyrics for the first three and recent two Dark Tranquillity albums (Lead singer Mikael Stanne wrote all of Dark Tranquillity's lyrics from Projector through Fiction) and In Flames' album The Jester Race, and continued to translate In Flames vocalist Anders Fridén's lyrics from Swedish to English for the next few albums while Anders worked to become more proficient in English.

Naturally, this kind of rules allowed to discard tachi-waza and adopt a more tactical style of ne- waza, which was developed profusely under the influence of judoka like Tsunetane Oda and Yaichihyōe Kanemitsu. It is believed that the popularity of those strategies was the reason why Kodokan changed its competitive ruleset, restricting ground fighting and entries in 1925 and replacing draws for decision victories or yusei-gachi in 1929. Jigoro Kano was reportedly unsatisfied with kosen rules, and was quoted in 1926 as believing that kosen judo contributed to create judokas more proficient at winning sport matches at the cost of being less skilled at self-defense.
