Research suggests that immigration has positive effects on native workers' health. As immigration rises, native workers are pushed into less demanding jobs, which improves native workers' health outcomes. A 2018 study found that immigration to the United Kingdom "reduced waiting times for outpatient referrals and did not have significant effects on waiting times in accident and emergency departments (A&E;) and elective care." The study also found "evidence that immigration increased waiting times for outpatient referrals in more deprived areas outside of London" but that this increase disappears after 3 to 4 years.

The Aberdeen South constituency is an affluent suburban constituency located along the south of the Aberdeen City Council area. The seat covers most of Aberdeen's affluent West End and the outer suburbs of Bieldside, Cults, Milltimber and Peterculter. Situated within the constituency are some of Scotland's most affluent neighbourhoods, including Broomhill, Rubislaw and Queen's Cross, which was named the wealthiest part of Scotland in 2003. The seat also extends south-east across the River Dee to cover the suburb of Cove Bay and the more deprived neighbourhoods of Torry and Kincorth.

2017 In 2003, 20% of adults in the UK had a long-standing illness or disability and a national study for the UK Department of Health, found more than one-third of people with poor or very poor health had literary skills of Entry Level 3 or below. Low levels of literacy and numeracy were found to be associated with socio- economic deprivation. Adults in more deprived areas, such as the North East of England, performed at a lower level than those in less deprived areas such as the South East. Local authority tenants and those in poor health were particularly likely to lack basic skills.

In April 2013 the Bayyaram iron ore mines in Khammam and Warangal districts were allocated by a Government Order (GO) to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. This was severely opposed by TRS leaders including Kumar who alleged that this was a continuation of the loot of natural resources from Telangana by Seemandhra rulers. They demanded that a steel plant be set up in the Telangana region itself so as to provide employment to the locals who were far more deprived than their Seemandhra counterparts. Vinod coined the popular slogan ‘Bayyaramu ukku Telangana hakku’ (Bayyaram’s ore is Telangana’s right) which became a rallying cry for the agitation.

In addition to his playing career, DeLoach was Charlotte's Director of Urban Ministry. He was an integral part of the Eagles’ sports ministry strategy in the city of Charlotte, working daily in the more deprived areas of East Charlotte. He started a tutoring program with to help continue the furthering education of the youth in those areas, helped start three youth soccer teams, and is the director of inner-city and Latino camps which are conducted by the Eagles Learn from the Pros Camp Program. In September 2009, the independent motorway services operator Westmorland Motorway Services Ltd, jointly with a local charitable trust, Gloucestershire Gateway Trust, submitted plans for a service area at Matson for public consultation. The plans were for a business operated in a similar manner to Tebay Services on the M6 in Cumbria, with much of the food and produce on sale being sourced from local suppliers. The operator promised not to host chain coffee shops, fast-food outlets, or video and gambling machines. The service area supports the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust in assisting the business to provide good jobs for more deprived areas of Gloucester, and to support local social regeneration schemes.

Targets in Wales are set by the Welsh Government and set out in the NHS Wales Delivery Framework. The Welsh Government has taken a different approach to some areas of care, such as becoming the first nation in the UK to have a single waiting times target for cancer treatment. The Welsh NHS has broadly under-performed compared to the English NHS, with higher waiting times for both urgent and routine care. However a Full Fact report by the Chief Executive of the Nuffield Trust Nigel Edwards acknowledges that the two nations targets are not directly comparable because "the Welsh population is older, sicker and more deprived than the English population—so its NHS has to work harder".

Those in C2DE, or "working class", occupations were slightly more likely to vote in favour of independence than those in ABC1, or "middle class", occupations' however, there was a significant discrepancy in voting between those living in the most deprived areas and those living in the least deprived areas, with those in more deprived areas being significantly more likely to vote in favour of independence and those in more affluent areas being more likely to vote against independence. Sir James Stirling, the division's namesake The electorate was created in the Western Australia redistribution of 10 August 1955, and was named after Sir James Stirling, the 19th-century founding lieutenant governor and governor of Western Australia. Stirling covers a demographically diverse area, including several affluent beachside suburbs, as well as some more deprived areas further inland. As a result, Stirling has often been a marginal seat, alternating between the Australian Labor Party and the Liberal Party of Australia. Unlike some marginal seats on the east coast, such as Eden-Monaro, Stirling has not often been seen as a barometer for winning government, mainly because most elections have already been decided by the time WA's first returns come in.

The theory says that frustration causes aggression, but when the source of the frustration cannot be challenged, the aggression gets displaced onto an innocent target. For example, if a man is disrespected and humiliated at his work, but cannot respond to this for fear of losing his job, he may go home and take his anger and frustration out on his family. This theory is also used to explain riots and revolutions, which both are believed to be caused by poorer and more deprived sections of society who may express their bottled up frustration and anger through violence. While some researchers criticized the hypothesis and proposed moderating factors between frustration and aggression, several empirical studies were able to confirm it as is.

The 2011 UK Census revealed that the Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock constituency had an above-average unemployment rate at 5.6% compared to the Scottish average of 4.8%, with a significant proportion of residents living in local authority housing at 20.2% compared to the Scottish average of 13.2%. The constituency also had a high proportion of retired people and Church of Scotland Protestants at the Census relative to elsewhere in Scotland, with 19% of those living in the constituency retired (14.9% across Scotland) and 43.3% of constituents recognising their religion as Church of Scotland (32.4% across Scotland). 90% of residents identified their ethnicity as White British, with 99% recognising their ethnicity as White.'Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock' On indicators such as health, educational attainment, income and social class however the area is more deprived than the national average.

There are currently plans to expand Barwell to the north and west with a Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE), which will see new infrastructure for the village including a new Primary School, upgraded or new Medical Centre, Highway Improvements, up to 2,500 new homes and 9.5 hectares of land allocated for industry. It is hoped that this will have a major impact in the area, with the aim to regenerate some of the more deprived areas of the village. On 31 May 2012 15 Barwell residents called for a Parish Poll to ask the question "Are you in favour of the Borough Council’s plans for 2,500 extra homes in Barwell?". Just over 1,600 residents, approximately 22% of residents eligible to vote in Barwell, expressed an opinion with 96% against the extra homes and only 4% in favour.
