When she died she left manuscripts and drafts for four books: Naturaleza, Elementos de Dibujo y Pintura (Nature, Elements of Drawing and Painting), Las Disertaciones, also called Morbidezza, Florencia and her translations of the Iliad and the Odyssey, with a translation of Cicero's dialogue on friendship, since lost.

Certain morphological details such as the nose, mouth, and eyes are painted identically in terms of modelling and shape. Less learned and correct in his design than Mantegna, Bonsignori is more modern in his style and his coloring has more morbidezza. He excelled in painting animals, which he was fond of introducing in the background of his compositions. His paintings portraying animals were alleged to deceive dogs and birds, and he was termed "the modern Zeuxis" (after an ancient Greek animal painter).

Despite its title, La plus que lente was not meant to be played slowly; "lente," in this context, refers to the valse lente genre that Debussy attempted to emulate. Typical of Debussy's caustic approach to naming his compositions, it represented his reaction to the vast influence of the slow waltz in France's social atmospheres. However, as Frank Howes noted, "La plus que lente is, in Debussy's wryly humorous way, the valse lente [slow waltz] to outdo all others." The work is marked "Molto rubato con morbidezza," indicating Debussy's encouragement of a flexible tempo.

The Director of Archaeology for the Nizam of Hyderabad said of their work: While Cecconi was serving as curator of the Academy of Santa Luca, he called at the Grand Hotel and spent a considerable time minutely examining the Isleworth Mona Lisa, finding of the painting that "this is an original of Leonardo: the 'morbidezza', the condition of the 'crepatura' are unique and exactly equivalent to that of the Louvre example". He later wrote a letter expanding on this assessment, stating: From his long stay in India to carry out restorations, Cecconi reported studies of oriental taste that he exhibited at the Colonial Exhibition of 1934. He has also participated in exhibitions in Palermo, Naples, Berlin, Vienna, Barcelona and Chicago. He twice won the "Werstappen" landscape prize, offered by the Accademia di San Luca.
