His Prabhulinga Lile, written in the native Bhamini Shatpadi metrical composition form (six line verse or hexa-metre) was a eulogy of 12th-century saint Allama Prabhu. So popular was the writing with the King that he had it translated into Telugu and Tamil languages, and later into the Sanskrit and Marathi languages as well.Datta (Sahitya Akademi, 1987), p. 617 In the story, the saint is considered an incarnation of the Hindu god Ganapathi while Parvati took the form of a princess of Banavasi.

Her sister, Amanda Ruter Dufour, was a poet. Her earliest years were divided between New Albany, Indiana and Indianapolis, and her later academic studies were carried on at the Wesleyan Female College in Cincinnati. Like Pope, "she lisped in numbers;" and her earliest writings were dedicated to the Muses; but her love of verse, which grew with her years, was nourished as a secret passion, and no one ever saw or heard a line of her metrical composition until she had nearly reached womanhood and was about to be graduated by her Alma Mater. By accident one of her teachers discovered her gift of song, and she was induced to read one of her poems at a school exhibition.

Being fluent in German, Coleridge was one of the first major English literary figures discuss Schelling's ideas, in particular. The later chapters of the book deal with the nature of poetry and with the question of diction raised by Wordsworth. While maintaining a general agreement with Wordsworth's point of view, Coleridge elaborately refutes his principle that the language of poetry should be one taken with due exceptions from the mouths of men in real life, and that there can be no essential difference between the language of prose and of metrical composition. A critique on the qualities of Wordsworth's poetry concludes the volume. The book contains Coleridge's celebrated and vexed distinction between “imagination” and “fancy”. Chapter XIV is the origin of the famous critical concept of the “willing suspension of disbelief” when reading poetic works.

Distinct forms of line, as defined in various verse traditions, are usually categorised according to different rhythmical, aural or visual patterns and metrical length appropriate to the language in question. (See Metre.) One visual convention that is optionally used to convey a traditional use of line in printed settings is capitalisation of the first letter of the first word of each line regardless of other punctuation in the sentence, but it is not necessary to adhere to this. Other formally patterning elements, such as end-rhyme, may also strongly indicate how lines occur in verse. In the speaking of verse, a line ending may be pronounced using a momentary pause, especially when its metrical composition is end-stopped, or it may be elided such that the utterance can flow seamlessly over the line break in what can be called run-on.

Zhangzhou Normal University has set up 26 research institutes, such as the Fujian-Taiwan Cultural Research Institute, the Educational Science Research Institute, the Applied Psychology Research Institute, the Applied Chemistry Research Institute, and the Human Resources Research Institute. It has two provincial laboratories, one provincial humanities and social sciences base. The university has hosted international and domestic academic symposiums such as the International Symposium of Chinese Style of Metrical Composition, the International Symposium of General Topology and the International Symposium of Lin Yutang Study. Since 2004, the university has been permitted to set up 450 scientific research projects, among which 6 are state-funded projects of natural sciences, 3 are state-funded projects of social sciences, 3 are humanities and social sciences projects funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education and 12 are projects awarded as prizes for achievements in scientific research at the provincial and ministerial levels.
