In 1780, when he was two, his family began a nomadic lifestyle that was to last several years. From Maidstone his father took them to Bandon, County Cork, Ireland; and from Bandon in 1783 to the United States, where the elder Hazlitt preached, lectured, and sought a ministerial call to a liberal congregation. His efforts to obtain a post did not meet with success, although he did exert a certain influence on the founding of the first Unitarian church in Boston.

The project to regroup the supporters of the Patriot Revolt in exile in France at the end of the 1780s was born in December 1791. The Patriots' initial idea was to form the embryo of a Dutch national army, on the French model, so as to set up and support a Batavian republic and replace the Dutch Republic's pseudo-monarchy under stadtholder William V of Orange-Nassau. However, France was not yet at war with the Dutch Republic and the French government rejected the idea of a Batavian legion. Sir Alexander Cunningham Armed with the knowledge of Brahmi, Alexander Cunningham, a protégé of James Prinsep, carried out a detailed survey of the Buddhist monuments which lasted for over half a century. Inspired by early amateur archaeologists like the Italian military officer, Jean-Baptiste Ventura, Cunningham excavated stupas along the width, the length and breadth of India. While Cunningham funded many of his early excavations himself, in the long run, he realised the need for a permanent body to oversee archaeological excavations and the conservation of Indian monuments and used his stature and influence in India to lobby for an archaeological survey. While his attempt in 1848 did not meet with success, the Archaeological Survey of India was eventually formed in 1861 by a statute passed into law by Lord Canning with Cunningham as the first Archaeological Surveyor.

The carver shows the same tendency to over-exalt his art by crowding on too much design as the more civilized craftsman of other lands, while he also on occasion exercises a good deal of restraint by a harmonious balance of decoration and plain space. So far as his chip designs and those patterns more or less depending on the line are concerned, his work as a rule is good and suitable, but when he takes to figure work his attempts do not usually meet with success.

From 2010 to 2014, Rocha served as secretary general to the Guanajuato state PRI, and from 2012 to 2015, she served in the LXII Legislature of Guanajuato and presided over its Education Commission. When Rocha announced she would run to return to the Chamber of Deputies in the LXIII Legislature, she was criticized by Sixto Zetina, then the mayor of Irapuato, who told Rocha on Twitter that "you denigrated women because you knew that you would only be a deputy because of your gender, but you were obligated to leave your seat to a man". Additionally, her departure from the Guanajuato state congress, undertaken in order to conduct her campaign to return to the Palacio Legislativo de San Lázaro, left a vacant seat, as the alternate deputy refused to take the oath of office and multiple attempts to contact her did not meet with success. Voters ultimately sent Rocha back to San Lázaro, where she serves on the Constitutional Points, Public Education and Educational Services, Jurisdictional, and Transparency and Anticorruption Commissions.
