According to them, the game was 1,200 times larger than Ark and could host 40,000 players in the same game world. Marvel Super Hero Squad Online was a massively multiplayer online game for younger audiences based on the Marvel Super Hero Squad, developed by American studio Gazillion. The Great Galactic Conflict, or GGC for short, was a turn based Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) which was available in Australia around 1985. The game was accessed through a text based dialup service from Telecom Australia (later Telstra Australia) known as Viatel. Briefly, the game mechanic required players to enter their moves during a one-week period. Once a week the game engine would process all entered moves and compute a result which became the basis for the following week's moves.
On April 23, 2007 Konami released Battle Rondo using the online services of Diorama Studio. Battle Rondo was a free massively multiplayer online game set in the fictional Busou Shinki universe. By inputting a code that comes with each Busou Shinki figure, or by use of micropayments, players could unlock online versions of the figures, including their armor and weapons, as well as other gear. The game was discontinued on August 31, 2011, and the Konami game support web pages were removed.

Auto Assault was a massively multiplayer online game (or MMOG), developed by NetDevil and published by NCSOFT. It combined vehicular combat with role- playing elements, allowing the player to explore a post-apocalyptic future in customizable cars, motorcycles, semis, and tanks. It took inspiration, in part, from the Mad Max series of films. Players could choose to play as one of three fictional factions—Humans, Mutants, and Biomeks—as well as a class to determine the type of character they would play.
The company's first project was a futuristic car combat game titled, Driving Force. Before the game could be finished Sony Online Entertainment halted the production and re-tasked Lodestone to develop network hosting technology as well as a real-time weather system for the massively multiplayer online game PlanetSide. After PlanetSide shipped Sony Online Entertainment contracted with Lodestone to create a third person fantasy role playing game, named Soul Forge. Due to a budgetary shortfall Sony canceled the production of Soul Forge.
A 3D remake of the original, titled Dig Dug Deeper was published by Infogrames in 2001 for Windows. A Nintendo DS sequel, Dig Dug: Digging Strike, was released in 2005, combining elements from the first two games and adding a narrative link to the Mr. Driller series. Yogscast Limited; trading as The Yogscast are a British entertainment company based in Bristol that primarily produce video gaming-related videos on YouTube and Twitch, and also operate the Yogscast multi-channel network for affiliated content creators. They began activity in 2008 and formally incorporated as a company in 2011. In 2017, they published the video game Caveblazers. The group had their roots in videos about the massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft, but rose to popularity with their playthrough of the sandbox game Minecraft and their self-produced role-playing series Shadow of Israphel set in the same game.
On 29 August 2013, Funcom officially announced a massively multiplayer online game based on the Minifigures theme, in which there are several worlds the player can travel to and fight enemies, as well as dungeons based on the setting. The game uses traditional click-to-move mechanics, allowing younger users to jump into the action. However, for advanced users, there are special abilities activated using the number pad. It is going to be free-to-play, but you can unlock Minifigures by purchasing one and entering a code, however they can also be obtained in-game.

Aurora Feint The Beginning was released in the first wave of App Store applications in July 2008 and was a free single-player game which combines the geometric shape manipulation of Tetris Attack with the character- building aspects of a role-playing game. On 11 December 2006, New Enterprise Associates announced an investment of 30 million US dollars into Realtime Worlds. Their first release under the name Realtime Worlds was the critically acclaimed 2007 action-adventure third-person sandbox game Crackdown, an Xbox 360 exclusive title. In 2010, they released a massively multiplayer online game for Microsoft Windows, titled APB (All Points Bulletin), which had been in development for five years, and was hoped to generate upwards of "hundreds of millions of pounds". In 2007, at Develop magazine's Industry Excellence Awards, the company was nominated in a record- breaking seven categories, and took home the awards for Innovation and New UK/European Studio.
When Nintendo unveiled its new hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, Bethesda expressed support for it and released ports of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Doom for that system in November 2017. In February 2019, automated filters accidentally flagged several channels with videos discussing the AR mobile game Pokémon Go and the massively multiplayer online game Club Penguin for containing prohibited sexual content, as some of their videos contained references to "CP" in their title. In Pokémon Go, "CP" is an abbreviation of "Combat Power" — a level system in the game, and "CP" is an abbreviation of Club Penguin, but it was believed that YouTube's filters had accidentally interpreted it as referring to child pornography. The affected channels were restored, and YouTube apologized for the inconvenience. In August 2019, YouTube mistakenly took down robot fighting videos for violating its policies against animal cruelty.
SOE is headquartered in San Diego, California, with additional game development studios located in Austin, Texas, Denver, Colorado and Seattle, Washington. On July 15, 2010, SOE eliminated 35 full-time positions and an undisclosed number of temporary positions to "...better align the company's resources..." On August 8, 2010, SOE announced that EverQuest Next was in the early stages of development. On January 7, 2011, SOE and Fastpoint Games announced the alpha launch of the Facebook game Fortune League. Originally conceived as an massively multiplayer online game set in the world of Fallout, the project suffered a significant setback when Interplay lost all rights to use the Fallout brand. As part of their efforts to restart the project anew, Interplay revived Black Isle Studios with two of its original team members and began a crowdfunding campaign to fund a prototype in 2012. The campaign did not raise sufficient funds to develop a playable prototype, and communications from Interplay and Black Isle about the project had ceased completely by early 2014. By the end of 2015, the Black Isle website had been taken offline.
In November 2006, Interplay, headed by Herve Caen, filed a Form 8-K filing to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding a potential Fallout massively multiplayer online game. In April 2007, Bethesda Softworks, the developer of Fallout 3, purchased full rights to the Fallout IP for US$5.75 million. While Bethesda now owned the rights to the Fallout MMO IP as well, clauses in the purchase agreement allowed Interplay to license the rights to the development of the MMO.
