Each spring, the General Meeting is conducted in conjunction with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers to address important issues relative to the safe installation, operation, maintenance, construction, repair, and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels. Attendees include boiler and pressure vessel inspectors, mechanical engineers, engineering consultants, equipment manufacturers, representatives of repair organizations, operators, owners and users of boilers and pressure vessels, labor officials, welding professionals, insurance industry representatives, and government safety personnel. Focus of the week-long event is an exchange of expertise and technical insight shared by other attendees, as well as making contacts and participating in numerous industry and committee meetings. General session presentations cover a wide range of pressure equipment topics such as safe operation, maintenance and repair, safety valves - as well as other unit components – testing codes and standards, risks and reliability, and training.

Sean C. Finn (born Michael John Finn; 1889, Rathkeale, County Limerick - 30 March 1921, near Foynes, County Limerick) was a commander of multiple units in the IRA's Irish War of Independence in the early 20th century. He led many attacks on the Black and Tans and the heavily-armed RIC patrols, with his brigade usually armed only with shotguns. Training first with the scouting organisation Fianna Éireann and then being appointed a captain in the Irish Volunteers in 1914 when Ernest Blythe went to Limerick to organise there, Finn organised his west Limerick area, making contacts ranging from impoverished farmers in single-room cottages to the nationalist Anglo-Irish activist Mary Spring Rice, whose boat was at the disposal of his flying columns to cross the River Shannon. He and his flying columns made west Limerick untenable for the British.

The program was founded as a club called The Catholic University of America Rowing Association (CUARA) and competed in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Collegiate Rowing Association. The club was established at the beginning of the spring semester 1990 by Laurie McGuane, an architecture major from Denver who transferred to The Catholic University of America after her freshman year at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Disappointed that CUA did not have a rowing club, she decided to start one. In January 1990, the Crew Club was granted official club status by the university. The spring semester of 1990 was devoted to organizing the club, starting fund-raising, and making contacts with the Washington rowing network. The first coaches were Glenn Harchar and Bob Shuttleworth, who both coached for Capital Rowing Club at Thompson’s.

In March 2015, on the initiative of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East M. L. Bogdanov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation A. S. Delimkhanov, a Contact Group was established Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for Libya. The purpose of the structure is to facilitate the implementation of the Russian foreign policy through making contacts with various socio-political groups in Libya, analysis of the situation in the country, implementation of some initiatives, and identification of trends and solutions to the Libyan crisis. Lev Dengov was appointed as Head of the Contact Group. A prerequisite for creation of this structure was the appeal of the leader of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Haftar on establishing cooperation with the Russian authorities.

Jama'atu Nasril Islam is the umbrella under which all Islamic organizations in Nigeria rally around. Its name, which in English is "Society for the Support of Islam", signifies why the society was first conceptualized and formed; basically to work, through peaceful ways, including 'wisdom and good preaching' in projecting the good image of Islam and defending the legitimate rights and interest of Muslims throughout Nigeria. The idea for the formation of JNI came up in 1962 after the return of the then Premier of Northern Nigeria, Alhaji (Sir) Ahmadu Bello (Sardauna of Sokoto) from pilgrimage in Makkah. The Sardauna, who after making contacts with Muslims from other parts of the world, and having contemplated for some time on the need to have some organized efforts to propagate the teachings of Islam in Nigeria decided to form an organization through which that goal can be achieved.
