A new version of the Source engine had been introduced by 2013 that, in addition to new engine features, included support for OS X and Linux platforms, however, developers had to pay to gain access to the full feature set of this engine. According to Adam Engels, the project lead at the completion of Black Mesa, Valve had actually approached their team around this time and suggested to them about making Black Mesa a commercial release and thus getting a license to the Source engine. The team considered this option, and since access to the full Source engine would help make Black Mesa the best game they could, they opted to go the commercial route as to be able to pay for that license, not having intended to profit off the game from the start. The team affirmed they had gotten Valve's permission to sell by November 2013.

Oral tradition has it that the Ogbogolo people migrated from Kaskrama (present day Otuegwe) in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State under their leader Egbo after whom their chief town Egboama is named. Engenni people are very friendly and hospitable, a fact that is evidenced in their whole- hearted acceptance of the early Christians and European traders who established churches, schools and hospitals in the area as early as the late 1800s. The people of Engenni kingdom are traditional farmers and fishermen, and crafts making skills like canoe and paddle making, black smithing, basket and trap making are also known vocations and occupations of the people of Engenni kingdom. Although the people were deeply engaged in traditional heathenism before the advent of Christianity in the mid 1800s, Engenni communities and people today are largely Christians and the towns and villages of Engenni are filled with churches of every denomination.

Chepachet arrived in Leyte Gulf on 23 October, three days after the main landing began, the destroyer escort anchored off Leyte midway between the northern and southern transport areas while Chepachet and fellow oilers brought vital assistance to the ships from Task Group (TG) 77.2 which fought the Japanese to a decisive victory in the Battle for Leyte Gulf (23–26 October). During the fury of the days that followed, Chepachet transferred fuel to 34 different ships, some of them several times, as her men manned anti-aircraft guns as well as fueling lines. On the evening of the 23rd, around 18:25, steaming eastward toward a night anchorage, Chepachets destroyer escort observed anti-aircraft fire over the northern transport area. Underway again off Homonhon Island early the next morning, the destroyer escort received a report of enemy aircraft orbiting over the northern transport area.
