The Sekrenyi festival, known locally as Phousanyi, is a major annual festival of the Angami Nagas, among the many festivals held by them, in the northeast Indian state of Nagaland. It is observed for ten days from the 25th day of the Angami calendar month of "Kezei" (usually corresponding to 25 February in the Gregorian calendar) under the auspices of the Angami Public Organisation in association with many other organizations and the state government. It is a "purification festival" held to wash off all past sins. The objective of the festival is to renew and "make holy" by cleansing the "body and the soul" of the village as a whole, and to bring forth unity among all communities of Nagaland.

The steps leading from the Pilgrim's Way up to the Stone The White Horse Stone has come to be seen as a sacred site by Folkish Heathens, members of a modern Pagan religion that seeks to copy the pre-Christian belief systems of linguistically Germanic peoples and which places a focus on an essentialist understanding of race. One Folkish Heathen group, the Odinic Rite, was founded in 1973; its co-founder John Yeowell adopted the White Horse Stone as "the birth place of England" and held a blót ceremony there to "reclaim and make holy" the megalith. The group emphasise the idea of English ancestry at the site, regarding it as "the symbolic birthplace of the English nation", and a "symbolic site for the remembrance of Hengest and Horsa and the coming to these lands of our faith". Unlike other Pagans who perform rituals at the Medway Megaliths—such as a modern Druidic group—these Folkish Heathens understand "ancestors" not as people who inhabited the same landscape in the past, but as people to whom they are related by blood.

The label was still very much a hobby at this point, but this was soon to change as Alex Fitzpatrick decided to throw in his day job and take the label on as a priority - utilising the support of those around him and taking on other relevant and connected roles such as writing for magazines and driving and managing bands to keep himself afloat. A couple of years later, Alex had managed to make Holy Roar Records a full-time commitment and since then he has managed to: curate a stage at Offset Festival (2014), host a stage at Incubate Festival (2014), partner with Shock Records, partner with ArcTanGent Festival (2015) and has curated a stage at The Great Escape Festival in 2016. The label are planning to curate another stage at The Great Escape Festival in 2017. A decade since initiation, Holy Roar Records finds itself with over 150 releases and nominations by Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards for “Best Independent Label” and the AIM Independent Music Awards for "Best Small Label" in 2016. According to Alex, the name “Holy Roar” was actually derived from a Torche song with the same title.
