Design of the Perronet Thompson School began in 1984 by the architects department of Humberside County Council. Construction began in 1986, with John Laing as the main contractor. The school had a non- conventional design designed to maximise heat efficiency, with a central atrium illuminated by a barrel vault. The school opened 1988.
It occupies the former site of the Centro Internacional de Convenciones de la Ciudad de Madrid. When finished it will be the 5th tallest building in Madrid and 7th tallest in Spain. Mazvikadei Dam is a dam in Zimbabwe which provides water for farm irrigation. It is the third largest dam in Zimbabwe. As of the end of 2012, Warsaw Financial Center is owned by CPI Poland.
In around 1685, he prepared plans and elevations of Kinross House, designed by the King's architect Sir William Bruce as his own country house. Subang-Kelana Jaya Link, Federal Route 15, is an elevated highway in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. The highway connected from Persiaran Kewajipan to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport Highway and Federal Highway. This elevated highway was constructed on 2005 by the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) and the main contractor Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad (AZRB) and it was opened in 2009. It is the tallest elevated highway in Subang Jaya.

First building completed in the project - Lilywhite House with Sainbury's on Northumberland Park The first phase involved the building of Lilywhite House to the north of the White Hart Lane to house the club offices. This building incorporates a Sainsbury's supermarket and the University Technical College of Tottenham. McLaren was the main contractor of the project. Phase 1 of the project started in September 2012 with work on the Sainsbury's site.
Mayor Robert Eusebio, an architecture graduate, commissioned an architectural and structural study of the Pasig Revolving Tower in 2006 with the intent of renovating the building. The study was finished in 2008. Renovation works on the tower began in 2015 under the tenure of Mayor Maribel Eusebio, Robert's wife and an architect. The main contractor of the renovation was Interbuild Construction which facilitated the addition of a 12th floor and a viewing deck.

The power station is owned and operated by the two Sri Lankan energy companies that developed the power station, over a twenty- months period, from January 2017 until October 2018. The same investors also own the 7.6 megawatts Kyambura Hydroelectric Power Station, developed across the Kyambura River in Rubirizi District.

During a mid-1970s building program the Dunne Memorial Block was joined to the North Wing by the construction of the Junior Sciences Block (now the Gallagher Building) in 1975. The original wooden verandahs on the northern facade of the 1900 South Wing were replaced in concrete and the South Wing was extended east to provide a new infirmary. YIT was the main contractor for the Finnish Parliament building, the Pikkuparlamentti (), which was inaugurated in 2004. It was also responsible for the construction of the Cirrus apartment building in Vuosaari, East Helsinki, which was completed in 2007. Cirrus is currently the second tallest high-rise building in Finland. Media Pavilion Media Pavilion is the legacy of the first three stadium projects, according to which the facilities under the stands would not be as developed as they are in the current version. The building is located in the corner, between west and south stands. The construction of the Media Pavilion started in September 2007 and was completed in January 2008. The main contractor was Budimex Dromex and cost was 11 384 mln zł.
A planning application was submitted in August 2006 to Milton Keynes Council by Your Energy Ltd, and was granted planning permission in January 2008. The decision was challenged and upheld three separate times during 2008 by objectors to the project. It was the first wind farm challenge to go as high as the House of Lords. The main contractor for civil and electrical works was Morrison Construction, part of the Galliford Try Group.
Pilings were sunk 40 metres into the river bottom; Pigott Foundations of Ormskirk drilled 1142 piles; the main contractor of the substructure was Stevin Construction B.V., a Dutch company. The main span was constructed using a balanced cantilever technique, casting sections on alternating sides of the pier in a weekly cycle. In March 2000, JSAT received the NTT Communications interest in the N-STAR a and N-STAR b. In October 1999, N-STAR c was ordered by NTT DoCoMo from Lockheed Martin and Orbital Sciences Corporation. Orbital would supply the spacecraft and procure launch services and Lockheed would deliver the payload an act a main contractor. The satellite was successfully launched on July 5, 2002 along Stellat 5 on an Ariane 5G.
Public consultation on the detailed plans was undertaken in October 2015 and a full planning application was submitted in January 2016. Full planning consent was granted by Epping Forest District Council on 20 April 2016; the breaking the ground ceremony on 15 July 2016 was attended by Eric Pickles. Dilapidated interior of the building In 1993, in a controversial case that would drag on for fifteen years, Rangsan was arrested for allegedly plotting to murder the President of the Supreme Court, Praman Chansue (the murder never took place). The assistant working on the project was P. Yarker; the structural consultants were Ove Arup and the main contractor was A.H. Guest. The assembly hall formed the heart of the building – it was enclosed by offices, cloakrooms and toilets on the ground floor, with teaching rooms above. This unit was linked to a science block and a handicraft block with the gymnasium added later. The building has an exposed reinforced concrete frame.
Also, engineering firm Zonneveld and the company Techniplan Adviseurs were involved in the developing process. Besix was the main contractor, and received €67 million for building the Maastoren. The municipality of Rotterdam agreed with the construction of the Maastoren, but in April 2006 the council called for a debate on the subject. At the end of May, alderman Hamit Karakus said to the council that the Maastoren would be built and that the municipality would listen to the objections.
The first 330-bed spaces were completed on 11 April, and handed over by the Main Contractor, ES Global Ltd, to the client, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. It opened for service on the 13th April. Facilities available include mobile X-ray and CT scanners, and the stadium has opened both the playing surface and directors boxes for use as treatment space. The home and away dressing rooms have been repurposed to serve as office spaces.

This four-level interchange was opened to traffic on 26 February 2007. The 2-lane single-carriageway section between Bandar Baru Selayang and Templer's Park was upgraded to 4-lane dual-carriageway with emergency lanes and several U-turns. The architectural firm of Adamson Associates designed JUMP with five intersecting grid patterns, with components of a 6-story main building slightly skewed around a central ramp area in the parking garage. Hoffman Construction Company, the main contractor, encountered delays attributed to the design, perhaps the most complicated project in Boise construction history. In 2018, JUMP received the best overall project award by the City of Boise and the Building Owners and Managers Association of Idaho.

The PRC began developing the DF-31 ICBM in January 1985. Presently, the A15 passes through the centre of Lincoln, which causes congestion in the city centre. In 2012, planning permission was submitted in order to build a 7.5km bypass which will route traffic to the east of the city. All permissions were granted subsequently by February 2016, and work commenced in May 2016. A number of setbacks have occurred, especially after the loss of Carillion as the main contractor, after they entered liquidation in January 2018.

The construction of the arena started in September 2008; the main contractor of the arena is Lithuanian construction company Vėtrūna, chief architect – Eugenijus Miliūnas. The total cost of the arena is estimated to be 168.8 M litas (50 million euros). The arena was opened on 18 August 2011 with a basketball match between Lithuania and Spain. The Žalgiris Arena has held the playoffs and finals of the 37th European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2011), which took place in September 2011.
It was envisaged that the main construction works would commence in 2011 and services would begin running in 2013. However, problems in the tendering procedure resulted its cancellation in 2011 with the project being handed over to Network Rail at a revised cost of £295 million. Design-bid-build is the most common and well-established method of construction procurement. In this arrangement, the architect, engineer or builder acts for the client as the project coordinator. They design the works, prepare specifications and design deliverables (models, drawings, etc), administer the contract, tender the works, and manage the works from inception to completion. In parallel, there are direct contractual links between the client and the main contractor, who, in turn, has direct contractual relationships with subcontractors.
The company struggled financially and lost more than 100 million Norwegian krone (NOK) before terminating operations, having never made a profit. Building E of Tijuana's Terminal 1 was retrofitted to support the new bridge structure on the Mexican side. During the construction phase, a temporary border waiver between the U.S. and Mexico had to be issued by mutual legislation to allow U.S. construction cranes and U.S. fabricated steel bridge structural sections to cross the U.S.-Mexico boundary and be set over the six- lane Mexican Federal Highway 2. The plan of the building was a long rectangle containing all but the craft rooms (a separate single storey block) and the kitchen.
Angel Gardens is a 34-storey building of 466 rental apartments under construction in Manchester, England. It will form part of the NOMA redevelopment. In January 2017, the investor Apache Capital Partners and the developer Moda Living secured £85 million in financing from the German bank Deutsche Pfandbriefbank. Following the collapse of the main contractor, Carillion on 15 January 2018, construction was put on hold; two weeks later, the contract was transferred to Caddick Construction and construction re- commenced.
The installation of the spire of the Lakhta Center, Press release of 29 January 2018. It surpassed Vostok Tower of the Federation Towers in Moscow as the tallest building in Russia and Europe on 5 October 2017. The center is designed for large-scale mixed-use development, consisting of public facilities and offices. First designed by RMJM, the project was then continued by GORPROJECT (2011-2017) based on the RMJM Concept (2011) under the main contractor, Rönesans Holding.
In August 2017, negotiations with the consortium led by SK Engineering & Construction also broke down. Negotiations were then started with a new consortium led by Guangzhou Dongsong Energy Group, a Chinese company. Those talks collapsed in June 2017 when CPECC, the main contractor in the consortium, pulled out of the talks. In August 2017, Albertine Graben Refinery Consortium, a new consortium led by General Electric (GE) of the United States agreed to build the US$4 billion refinery.

Construction of the line started in 1997, and service commenced on March 30, 2008. The main contractor was the Tokyo Metropolitan Subway Construction Company, which also built the Toei Oedo Line.
N-Star was created as a joint venture between JSAT, NTT, NTT Communications and NTT DoCoMo for the supply of these latter two WIDESTAR satellite telephone and data packet service. JSAT would handle the satellite side of business and NTT DoCoMo would operate the payload. On October 1999, N-STAR c was ordered by NTT DoCoMo from Lockheed Martin and Orbital Sciences Corporation. New Al Garhoud Bridge under construction by BESIX (progress photo taken on 1 May 2007) To solve the major traffic problems caused by the old bridge, a replacement was constructed between 2006 and 2008 by Belgian main contractor BESIX. The bridge, which cost 415 million dirhams, is meant to add more lanes of road that cross Dubai Creek. The new Al Garhoud Bridge has a total of 14 lanes, 7 in each direction. It is able to handle 16,000 vehicles per hour.
Central Park Jakarta is inaugurated on 9 September 2009, in the site of Integrated Mega Projects of Podomoro City that is located in West Jakarta. The main principle is Singaporean DP Architects, while American DYXY acts as interior designer, and American Bennit Design Group as landscape consultant. The main contractor for the complex is Total Bangun Persada. The shopping mall have anchor tenants such as Sogo (the largest SOGO in Indonesia), Carrefour Transmart, Gramedia, Zara, Topman, Marks & Spencer, Hugo Boss, Bershka, and others.
The Air Terminal Building (ATB) was opened in August 1960. It cost about C$4.5 million to construct and, upon opening, included health, immigration and customs facilities for international passengers; a restaurant; a control tower and administrative offices; and two observation decks that projected onto the apron. It was designed by Gilleland and Strutt of Ottawa, in collaboration with C.D. Davidson of Halifax as well as A.W. Ramsey, chief architect at the Department of Transport. The main contractor was Ellis-Don.

Retrieved 7 October 2009. A final £3 million was raised by a fundraising campaign led by BBC News war correspondent Kate Adie. Construction of the museum, by structural engineers Arup and main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, began on 5 January 2000 and the building was topped out in late September that year. Exhibition fitting started in November 2001, and the museum opened to the public on 5 July 2002, shortly before the 2002 Commonwealth Games which were hosted in Manchester that year.

Despite protests by the public, Eu Court was demolished in 1992 for road widening with the aim of easing future traffic congestion on Hill Street. Today, a new building, Stamford Court, is sited on a portion of the site of the former Eu Court building. The S$13 million conservation project for Stamford House was undertaken by the main contractor Batae Engineering, and took three years. The Stamford House was re-opened as a furniture and furnishings centre on 28 March 1995.
Cumbrian firm Story Construction were the main contractor appointed to build the wind farm. The Vestas turbines are 81 metres high: 50 metres to the hub and a 62-metre diameter rotor. The wind farm will contribute £130,000 during its life towards projects in the parishes of Winscales, Great Clifton and Little Clifton. Local projects to benefit include the Great Clifton Village Hall which received £5,200 towards a new central heating system, and Little Clifton Village Hall received £8,000 towards renovations.
This forced the owner to stop development until the engineering problem could be resolved, resulting in a credit crunch. The situation is similar to the one faced during the construction of 111 West Wacker, then known as the Waterview Tower. Wolman's bankruptcy resulted in John Hancock taking over the project, which retained the original design, architect, engineer, and main contractor. The building's first resident was Ray Heckla, the original building engineer, responsible for the residential floors from 44 to 92.
The old Gegengerade was demolished after the game against SC Paderborn in May 2012, and the main contractor for the construction of the new Gegengerade was Walter Hellmich GmbH. The SGP Pomgrad company was the main contractor, the Nafta Strojna company was responsible for steel construction, and the Mobitex company for producing steel construction as part of GOI works. In 1993, the company had sales of ¥347 billion and a workforce of 3,455. Relative to other Japanese contractors, it realised a large proportion of sales in overseas markets such as Hong Kong – about one- third that year. Aoki Corporation was the main contractor for the Towngas corporate headquarters in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong, where Hong Kong's second- deadliest construction accident occurred on 2 June 1993.
The main contractor of the avionics of Z-10 is the 613th Research Institute, which was responsible for integrating all of the avionics subsystems provided by subcontractors. Although foreign technologies are utilized (particularly French and Israeli, as rumored), this is limited to hardware only. The Dutch government agreed to help execute the plan as part of the development subsidies to be given after Suriname would gain independence in 1975. Between 1976 and 1978, a railroad track was constructed between Apoera and the Bakhuis Mountains by Morrison-Knudsen as main contractor and local companies as sub contractors. After the 1980 Surinamese coup d'état Dutch development funds were frozen, and the project was halted. Low bauxite market prices in the 1980s also led to doubts about the economic feasibility of the project.

The main contractor of the project was Stuart Bros Pty Ltd of Sydney. Bankstown Municipal Council carried out the electrical reticulation of the building and the air conditioning equipment appears to have been supplied and installed by Carrier Air Conditioning Limited of Spring Street, Sydney. In December 2014, it was revealed that Rafael, IAI, and Israel Military Industries had agreed to jointly develop a next-generation active defense system for vehicles, based on a combination of the Rafael/IAI Trophy and IMI Iron Fist. Rafael will act as the main contractor and system developer and integrator, and IAI and IMI will be subcontractors. Construction on the power plant began on March 19, 2005, with Salini Costruttori as the main contractor. The major section of Jalan Kuching–Serian is the dual carriageway, which begins at the 15th Mile Intersection and ends at the Serian Roundabout. The part of Pan Borneo Highway project, Serian will have two interchanges, Serian Interchange 1 at the Serian Roundabout and Serian Interchange 2 at the St Teresa's Church, which can eases the traffic from Kuching and Sri Aman. It was carried by Lebuhraya Borneo Utara (LBU) Sdn Bhd as a turnkey contractor and Zecon Kimlun JV Consortium Sdn Bhd, the main contractor.
This site was put into operation, after only two years work, as the funds of the company had been exhausted and the entire operation quickly went bankrupt. Karl von Meck persevered and in 1863 found work with the new Moscow-Ryazan Railway Association. The Chairman of the Board appointed von Meck as the main contractor and the road was built over a year and a half, and made an enormous profit. Karl von Meck participated in several other railway ventures but none with such financial success.
In 2011, the Spanish company, Isolux Ingeniera SA won the contract to construct this power line. Due to a prolonged land acquisition process, work did not actually start until November 2015. Sixteen months into construction, on a project allocated 24 months, the parent company of the main contractor, Isolux Corsán, ran out of money and filed bankruptcy in Spain due to the 2008–2014 Spanish financial crisis. In August 2017, Ketraco terminated the contract with Isolux, with about 30 percent of the work completed.

Sir Robert McAlpine & Sons Ltd was the main contractor and the curtain wall (including glass and glazing) was undertaken by Williams and Williams Ltd. (Source: The Consulting Engineer. 1959. The building featured the first use in the UK of a new technique of colouring glass by flowing a coloured resin over the glass, giving it a green hue later popular with airport control towers . The 1998 conversion to residential property was designed by Leighton Carr and the development was undertaken by Berkeley Homes.
This work connection with Rudolph would span decades and continents. After Germany surrendered in 1945, Rudolph was part of a group of Nazi scientists who emigrated with the von Braun brothers to the United States as part of Operation Paperclip. The U.S. Army put them to work in New Mexico developing intercontinental ballistic missiles. Moving on to NASA in the 1960s, Rudolph continued to collaborate with Magnus, who by then was employed by the main contractor for the Saturn V lunar rocket, Chrysler Corporation.
The project was administered by the Amiri Diwan who appointed Kuwaiti Architects SSH to design and engineer the building envelopes and components, which are connected through glazed wings and a canopy acting as the central spine of the cultural centre. Alghanim International, a local main contractor, were appointed as the builders, tasked with constructing the museum envelopes and undertaking the extensive sitewide landscaping. London-based Cultural Innovations developed the visitor experience design. Exhibits at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre cover history, science, space and culture.

So, the general public of Jersey, who might have expressed their concerns, never became aware of the destruction until long after the fact: even now it is not common knowledge amongst those who care about preserving as much of Jersey's historic past as possible. Though the main contractor salvaged all the recovered machinery parts, and handed them over to the client, as required under the construction contract for "all antiquities recovered from the Site", the Fort Regent authorities scrapped them 2 years after contract completion as being "of no historic interest and not worthy of preservation". Access to the underground well-head and machinery chambers down a steep set of concrete steps and a steeply sloping tunnel is deemed too dangerous under modern health and safety concerns, this historic 19th-century well-head machinery seems doomed to be forever hidden away from members of the public. During the clearing and cleaning of the well-shaft in 1979, the main contractor discovered a 40-ft-tall flat sheet of granite caused by a natural fracture- plane which formed one face of the shaft about 100 ft below the surface.
As part of Croydon Vision 2020, plans to develop and expand the centre were formalised by leaseholder and landlord Howard Holdings plc, for which a planning application was submitted. Construction of the extension was due to start in 2009 and be finished in 2014, as promised by Geddes Architects who were the main contractor. In 2010, Howard Holdings went into administration. The station, designed, built and operated by the International Polar Foundation, is the first polar base that combines eco- friendly construction materials, clean and efficient energy use, optimization of the station's energy consumption and clever waste-management techniques. Testing phase in Brussels and building construction in Antarctica was coordinated by Belgian main contractor BESIX. The station is built against a ridge (The Utsteinen ridge) that is exposed to gales of up to . The station can withstand such strong winds through its aerodynamic shape and its foundation anchoring of several metres deep into the permafrost.
A criminal inquiry found the main contractor Nishimatsu Construction Company and joint venture partner firm Lum Chang Construction Company and their officers, as well as key Land Transport Authority officers responsible for the collapse. Several other officers and subcontractors were reprimanded and issued warnings in connection with the accident. As a result of this accident, the first phase of the Circle Line, previously scheduled to open in 2008, was completed in 2009 instead. The affected station has been shifted about away from the accident site and is now located at Republic Avenue.
The major of engineers in charge of the works recorded that "great difficulty was experienced in recovering the men to the surface before they were drowned by the inrush from the Spring". The construction records, including the commanding officer's daily diary, are now in the National Archives at Kew, and were researched by the architect and the main contractor – C.G. Dumond (Builders) Ltd. – for useful information during the conversion of the fort into a leisure centre in the 1970s. The granite was drilled with "jumper drill" irons hit with sledgehammers.
In March 2016, Amnesty International released a report stating that in the interviews they conducted with workers refurbishing the Khalifa National Stadium in Doha "all reported human rights abuses of one kind or another," and that the "vast majority alleged they had their passports confiscated", this despite the Qatari government's promise to ensure minimum labour standards on World Cup sites. The contractor refurbishing the stadium is a partnership between a subsidiary of the Belgian company Besix, and the Qatari company Midmac, a QIPCO subsidiary. Midmac is also the main contractor at Al Wakrah stadium.
Inmos Ltd commissioned the Richard Rogers Partnership, now known as Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners, to design its UK microprocessor manufacturing facility at Newport. The design criterion was for a fast construction, so that it was ready for operation within one year of starting. Richard Rogers until then was known for designing the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Lloyd's building in London. The main contractor for the construction of the building was Laing Construction, the structural engineers were Anthony Hunt Associates, the services engineers were YRM Engineers and the quantity surveyors were GA Hanscomb Partnership.
Møre og Romsdal County Municipality secured 47.6 percent of the investment costs and 37.6 percent of the operating costs of the new hall, to allow it to be used by Ulstein Upper Secondary School. This will give the school access to of new floor space and daytime access to the athletics hall. Construction commenced in December 2012, with Nord-Berg as the main contractor. The arena's scheduled completion was in 2014, when it would become the third-largest indoor athletics arena in Norway, costing a total of NOK 123 million.
Ethiopia, Egypt, and Sudan would contribute to the cost of the power stations, and the electricity would be shared among the three countries. The stations were to be built at Kara Dubi (1,600 megawatts), Mendia (2,000 megawatts) and Bako Ambo (2,100 megawatts). The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation was expected to be the main contractor, but Asian companies such as the Chinese firms that constructed the Merowe Dam were also likely to be involved. Construction work on a high-voltage electricity connection between Sudan and Ethiopia had already begun.
Alt Hotel As early as the 1980s, the private sector expressed interest in building a hotel next to the airport terminal. In May 1988, Halifax-based Keddy's Motor Inns, a major Maritime hotel chain, signed a contract with Transport Canada to build a $20-million, 200-room hotel on Transport Canada-owned land opposite the terminal. Work on the Pegasus Hotel began in May 1990. After over $4 million had been spent, construction was halted in December 1990 by the main contractor, GEM Construction Specialists, due to unpaid work.
For the professionals involved in a project, BIM enables a virtual information model to be shared by the design team (architects, landscape architects, surveyors, civil, structural and building services engineers, etc.), the main contractor and subcontractors, and the owner/operator. Each professional adds discipline-specific data to the shared model - commonly, a 'federated' model which combines several different disciplines' models into one. Following the long run of Ben-Hur, in 1961 the Empire was sold to Mecca and closed for internal reconstruction to create a new cinema for MGM and a dance hall for Mecca. The second part also with 75 turbines is located 55 kilometres north of Schiermonnikoog. He worked on several of the docks in Bergen and other road and dock projects throughout Western Norway. By the 1890s, his company had developed into a contractor and he was the main contractor for two private narrow gauge railways, the Nesttun–Os Railway and the Lillesand–Flaksvand Line. In 1899, he started as a waterfall speculator and bought the waterfalls from Storefjorden to Krokstadvatnet, the Osen River and the waterfalls in Gjengedalen. These were later sold to Sogn og Fjordane County Municipality, who subsequently created Sogn og Fjordane Energi.
The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant () is a nuclear power plant in Iran southeast of the city of Bushehr, between the fishing villages of Halileh and Bandargeh along the Persian Gulf. Construction of the plant was started in 1975 by German companies, but the work was stopped in 1979 after the Islamic revolution of Iran. The site was repeatedly bombed during the Iran–Iraq war. Later, a contract for finishing the plant was signed between Iran and the Russian Ministry for Atomic Energy in 1995, with Russia's Atomstroyexport named as the main contractor.
The design and manufacture was a collaboration between several companies. BTH (the main contractor) provided electrical equipment, Paxman supplied the power units, and Clayton supplied bogies and superstructure, with the frame construction and final assembly taking place at Yorkshire Engine's Sheffield works. These ten locomotives, numbered D8200–D8209, entered service between November 1957 and November 1958. The design showed sufficient promise for a repeat order for 34 more locomotives to be placed soon afterwards. These locomotives, numbered D8210–D8243 and built by Clayton at Hatton, Derbyshire, were delivered between October 1959 and February 1961.
IJM Construction Sdn Bhd is the main contractor of this Grade A, LEED Gold- certified office building. Construction work on this 27-storey building started in January 2017 and by December 2017, IJM had completed the building's structural works up to its top floor. As af the second half of 2018, IJM had already secured tenants (which includes Prudential Malaysia) for 84% of its net lettable area. The building was designed by Broadway Malyan, a global architectural firm, after it won an international design competition for the building.
The building is located on the corner of Macacha Güemes and Juana Manso streets, in the Puerto Madero ward. The building's construction cost an estimated US$134 million. The main contractor in its construction was CRIBA, a leading local contractor founded in 1952 by Alberto Tarasido. On May 25, 2012, 21 days after the nationalization of YPF by the government of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, the YPF tower was lit in the colors of the Argentinean flag as a political statement to commemorate 202 years of self-governance.
Construction of the line commenced on 1 October 1844 near Bentley; plant and materials had already been landed at Cattawade on the River Stour. The main contractor was Thomas Brassey who sub-let parcels of work to sub-contractors. On 11 December 1844 the Board resolved to lay double track; this would incur an additional £50,000 of expenditure, and this was authorised by Act of Parliament on 21 July 1845. The Eastern Counties Railway had resumed construction north of Colchester, in an attempt to resurrect their Harwich branch, already rejected by Parliament.
As a project, the damming of the Ibar for the creation of a reservoir and thus the generation of hydroelectricity existed since the 1960s to cover for the energy needs of the population and the economy of Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo which were expanding at the time. Gazivoda was created between 1973 and 1978. Some sources claim that up to 1000 or 230 people that lived in area were relocated. The project was undertaken by Energoprojekt, the state company of Yugoslavia for the development of hydropower The main contractor was Belgrade- based company "Hidrotehnika".
The Hoover Dam by Ansel Adams, 1942 The era of large dams was initiated with the construction of the Aswan Low Dam in Egypt in 1902, a gravity masonry buttress dam on the Nile River. Following their 1882 invasion and occupation of Egypt, the British began construction in 1898. The project was designed by Sir William Willcocks and involved several eminent engineers of the time, including Sir Benjamin Baker and Sir John Aird, whose firm, John Aird & Co., was the main contractor. Capital and financing were furnished by Ernest Cassel.

The main stand of Cardiff International Sports Stadium The new athletics stadium, built to replace the previous Cardiff Athletics Stadium which was demolished to make room for the new rugby and football stadium. Construction started in March 2007. The scope of the renovations include (1) a new Emergency Department (Casualty) (2) new operating rooms (theatres) (3) new out-patient department (4) new administration office block (5) expansion of the in-patient wards (6) new staff housing (7) rehabilitation of the water supply system (8) rehabilitation of the sewerage collection and disposal system. The expansion and renovations are expected to conclude in 2020, with a total bed capacity of 300, and the conversion of Kayunga Hospital, to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital. The main contractor is Arab Contractors Uganda Limited.
Although his design was used for the exterior, the internal decoration and fittings were planned by his main contractor, William Cole, and the church has been much altered since. In 1810 came the commission for what is described as "without doubt his [Harrison's] best work at a church", to rebuild the steeple of the Church of Our Lady and Saint Nicholas, Liverpool. Earlier that year the spire on the medieval tower had collapsed, destroying the tower in the process. The work was completed in 1815 at a cost of over £22,000 ().
The Australian firm Multiplex, which was the main contractor on Wembley Stadium, made significant losses on the project. In an attempt to recoup some of those losses, the firm initiated a number of legal cases against its sub-contractors and consultants. The largest of these – the largest construction claim in UK legal history – was a claim for £253 million against the structural engineering consultants Mott MacDonald. In preliminary hearings the two architecture practices which worked for Multiplex on the project were ordered to allow Multiplex access to their records for them to build a case.
In one month, 2.5 million cubic yards of concrete were poured into blocks, which had to cure for three months before being swung onto the rising hyperbolic pile of dam. The dam is able to hold back about of water. Frank E. Winsor was the engineer in charge of construction of Kensico as well as Hillview Reservoir and of the Catskill Aqueduct. New York City’s main contractor built a work camp at nearby Valhalla for the 1,500 men who worked on the dam at the height of construction.
Central Japan came under Chubu Electric Power, which inherited the various dams and projects on the Tenryū River, all of which were located in Nagano Prefecture. To tap into the hydroelectric potential of the river in Shizuoka Prefecture, the government turned to the Electric Power Development Company. The new company, in part through foreign aid loans from the United Nations, began work on a new dam in 1952, based on plans which had begun as early as 1921. The main contractor for the project was Hazama Corporation, and construction was completed in 1956.
In 1915 Vickers acquired a controlling stake in the company. In 1905 it was decided to build the branch as a Light Railway instead, to save further money. Work started with a connection at Holland Arms in June 1907, the main contractor being J Strachan. Some archaeological remains were discovered in a cutting near Pentraeth, including two skeletons, some urns and a 'bronse spear or dagger head'. The portion from Holland Arms to Pentraeth was completed and inspected in June 1908. Services started as far as Pentraeth on 1 July 1908, with the remainder opening on 24 May 1909.

On March 6, 2020, work began on a $27.6 million project to expand US-54 from two lanes to a four-lane divided limited access expressway, an additional three miles east from Liberal. The main contractor is the Federal Agency for Special Construction. Construction of the cosmodrome began in January 2011 and was expected to be completed in 2018. During a visit to the site in July 2011, the newly appointed chief of Roscosmos, Vladimir Popovkin, promised 20 billion rubles for Vostochny during 2012. A month later the head of Spetstroy, Grigory Naginsky, told the press that the first blueprints for the center went through the project expertise and the first contract worth 1.6 billion rubles was signed with Roscosmos, covering construction of a railway line and a road.
Between the 1990s to 2000s, traffic congestion was prevalent at the Sultan Ismail Bridge since the official opening of the North–South Expressway Southern Route between Ayer Keroh and Pagoh and the opening of the Tangkak and Pagoh Interchange on April 1, 1989. In 1998, the federal government announced that a second bridge would be built at Parit Bunga to ease traffic congestion on the existing bridge. The bridge was constructed between March 2001 and June 2003. It was built by Public Works Department of Malaysia (JKR) while the main contractor was Ranhill Bersekutu Sdn Bhd.
Developing a deep space habitat would allow a crew to live and work safely in space for about one year on missions to explore cislunar space, Mars, and some near-Earth asteroids. In 2015 NASA funded studies for several types of deep space habitat concepts under the Next Space Technologies for Exploration Partnerships (NextSTEP). Lockheed Martin, the main contractor of the Orion capsule, has also produced in 2018 a Deep Space Habitat concept. These concept studies will help NASA decide on a final design for the habitat element for the Lunar Gateway with a contract potentially to be awarded in fiscal year 2019.
The Hydro-Québec Équipement division acts as the company's main contractor on major construction sites, with the exception of work conducted on the territory covered by the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, which are assigned to the Société d'énergie de la Baie James subsidiary. The construction of a complex of four hydroelectric generating stations on the Romaine River () began on May 13, 2009. The plants are scheduled to be built and commissioned between 2014 and 2020. The memorial was paid for by donations from LNWR staff. It consists of a single obelisk, high in Portland stone, which stands on a tall pedestal and a circular base of grey granite. At the foot of the obelisk is a moulded reed band, just below which the obelisk is moulded to the pedestal. Buttresses protruding from the pedestal on four sides act as steps; on top of each is a bronze over life-size statue, sculpted by Ambrose Neale, the chief artist of the main contractor for the war memorial, RL Boulton & Sons of Cheltenham.

He is an Honorary Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators, and is a registered Panel member in the Regional Centre of Arbitration Kuala Lumpur and also in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

The tramways were laid with 6 inch grooved 45 foot girder rails weighing 90 pounds per yard, supplied by the North Eastern Steel Company of Middlesbrough, with points and crossings manufactured by Hadfields Limited of Sheffield. The contract for the overhead work was awarded to Robert W. Blackwell & Company of London. The power for the system was obtained from Edmundson's Electricity Corporation from their town power station off Seamer Road.
Pennsylvania Railroad class E3b was an experimental electric locomotive supplied by Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co. The locomotive was of the two unit design, with each unit having a B-B-B (AAR) or Bo-Bo-Bo (UIC) wheel arrangement. The bodywork and running gear was produced by Baldwin-Lima- Hamilton while the electrical equipment was provided by Westinghouse, who also acted as the main contractor. In 1952 and 1953 the Pennsylvania Railroad took delivery of ten experimental locomotives, six from General Electric and four from Westinghouse. While GE's were all of the same class (E2b), the Westinghouse locomotives were split into two classes.
In 2010 the redevelopment of the school went to the construction stage following almost a decade of lobbying and planning. Acting as main contractor for the project, Cordil Construction were responsible for the management of the €5 million plan, which sees the school expand to three times the usable space on completion of all three phases. Construction was temporarily abandoned in 2011 due to the liquidation of Cordil Construction, but continued following a seventeen-month delay. The new school was official opened in March 2014 by Limerick City TD and then Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan.
Perbadanan Perwira Harta Malaysia (PPHM), a subsidiary of Armed Forces Fund Board Malaysia (or also known as Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT)) has been appointed as the main contractor for the RMAF base relocation project. As of August 2015, five out of eight suppose relocation sites have been late. Reasoning were delay in submission of the area, suspension of approvals from local authorities, delays in consumer authentication, weather conditions and flash floods in November and December 2014. Victoria Lodge, 2006 The main contractor for the construction of the reservoir, and the line, was James Young and Sons of Edinburgh; the contract for the railway construction was in the sum of £49,113, and work on it started on 28 September 1895. Engineering design was by J and A Leslie and Reid of Edinburgh. In March 1897 more than half of the railway had been built, from Broughton to the Tweed Bridge near Tweedsmuir, and the Caledonian Railway ran an inspection train from Edinburgh to the site. The line had a ruling gradient of 1 in 50.
The Southern Integrated Gateway () refers to a complex at Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia incorporating the city's main railway station, JB Sentral, and a :customs, :immigration, and quarantine complex (CIQ), the Sultan Iskandar Building (Malay: Bangunan Sultan Iskandar), named after Almarhum Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail of Johor. The station and complex are the main transportation hub of Johor Bahru and southern Peninsular Malaysia. The Malaysian Public Works Department was responsible for the design and construction of the project; Gerbang Perdana Sdn Bhd was the main contractor. This project is part of the Iskandar Malaysia development corridor project.
After the UK Government's announcement in 2012 that the Midland Main Line would be electrified by 2018, the project timescales to be completed or not were implemented. In 2013, the GCR engaged Network Rail to act as project engineers, project manager and main contractor to complete the project. In June 2013, the GCR and Network Rail signed an agreement to allow bridging of the Midland Main Line, including the underlying operations, maintenance and legal liability agreements for such. Preliminary works began January 2014 with boreholes being drilled in preparation for the bridge over the Midland Main Line at Loughborough.
The main contractor of the GLONASS program is Joint Stock Company Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems (ISS Reshetnev, formerly called NPO-PM). The company, located in Zheleznogorsk, is the designer of all GLONASS satellites, in cooperation with the Institute for Space Device Engineering (:ru:РНИИ КП) and the Russian Institute of Radio Navigation and Time. Serial production of the satellites is accomplished by the company PC Polyot in Omsk. Over the three decades of development, the satellite designs have gone through numerous improvements, and can be divided into three generations: the original GLONASS (since 1982), GLONASS-M (since 2003) and GLONASS-K (since 2011).
Metro Tunneling Group (MTG) is a joint venture of five companies currently working as the Main Contractor for the DMRC. The five companies are DYWIDAG Systems International from Germany, Larsen & Toubro from India, Samsung from South Korea, Ircon International from India, and Shimizu Corporation from Japan. On 19 December 2006, the international joint venture - Metro Tunneling Group received the Letter of Acceptance from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for the Contract BC18. The scope of work for the new contract includes the design and civil works for a 3.1 km long metro twin tunnel and two underground metro stations.
The main contractor for the project is RFF (Réseau ferré de France), the state-owned company responsible for managing the French rail infrastructure. Civil engineering works were distributed in eight contracts which were awarded after bidding by five companies: SNCF, ISL, Tractebel, Scétauroute and Setec. This is the first time there has been competition for the construction of a TGV line since reform of the rail system in 1997 and the involvement of RFF. SNCF Engineering, in partnership with EEG Simecsol succeeded in obtaining four of the contracts (including one for the second phase), this being 50% of the civil engineering project.
Alfa Pendular is the name of the Pendolino high-speed tilting train of Portuguese state railway company CP.Série 4000: CP official website It connects the cities of Guimarães, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Santarém, Lisbon, Albufeira and Faro, among others at speeds of up to . The trains were assembled in Portugal by ADtranz at the former Sorefame works at Amadora, based on contracting partnership between Fiat-Ferroviaria as the main contractor and ADtranz and Siemens as the main subcontractors. Beginning 2017, the trains were refurbished, introducing new interiors, livery, seating and features such as Wi-Fi and power outlets.
The bridge was designed by a team of engineers from the Department of Main Roads (DMR) led by Albert Fried. The DMR's Resident Engineer for the construction was Ray Wedgwood, who was later the Chief Bridge Engineer for the Roads and Traffic Authority. The main contractor was John Holland Group. The bridge is the easternmost of the seven major crossings of Georges River. The others are Tom Uglys Bridge, which opened in 1929, Alfords Point Bridge (1973, duplicated 2008), M5 Milperra bridge (1992), Milperra Bridge (replacement bridge 1966), Liverpool Bridge (replacement bridge 1958), and M5 Casula bridge (1985, widened 1988).
A second Thurgoland Tunnel was also required, as the existing tunnel had inadequate clearance for twin electrified lines. The Manchester–Sheffield–Wath electrification project was finally completed in 1955, using overhead wires energised at 1,500 volts DC. Whilst this was tried and tested technology (and is still standard in the Netherlands), the comparatively low voltage meant that a large number of electricity substations and heavy cabling would be required. It also made regenerative braking by transfer of power from descending to ascending trains in the same section of line comparatively straightforward. The main contractor for the electrification work was Bruce Peebles & Co. Ltd.
He exiled himself to Budapest and tried to promote railways in Russia and Hungary. When he returned he became the main contractor for the Cornwall Minerals Railway which opened in 1874, but the failure of the related Cornish Consolidated Iron Mines Corporation meant that he sustained heavy losses when iron ore traffic on the CMR failed to live up to expectations. The CMR itself survived and began to recover after it had introduced passenger services in 1876 and was then leased by the Great Western Railway in 1877, but this improvement came too late for Peto. He died in obscurity in 1889.
Steel castings and, later, forgings for larger passenger liners and warships went on to rank alongside the sugar mills as the top export branches of Škoda's factory. In 1899, the ever-expanding business was transformed into a joint-stock company, and before the First World War the Škoda Works became the largest arms manufacturer in Austria-Hungary. It was a main contractor to the army and navy supplying mainly heavy guns and ammunition. The First World War brought a drop in the output of peacetime products but huge sums were invested into expanding production capacities for military products.

The upgrading of the Subang Airport Interchange including main link of Subang–Kelana Jaya Link from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport Highway (route 15) of Federal Highway (route 2) to Persiaran Kewajipan near Menara Mesiniaga began at the end of 2005 and the construction of the new Majlis Link in September 2005. Both project are led by Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR). While the main contractor are the Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad (AZRB) and Ho Hup Construction Company Berhad (HHCC). The Majlis Link was completed in March 2007 while the Subang Airport Interchange was completed in September 2009.
Crofton Consulting, the consulting engineers responsible for the Leas Lift restoration, was appointed as lead consultant to provide structural engineering design. Crofton won the ‘Building Structures’ award at the ACE Engineering Excellence Awards in May 2011 and won the ‘Restoration’ award at the ICE Engineering Excellence Awards in June 2011 for their work on the lift. G A Harpers were appointed as the main contractor to carry out the necessary construction work. The renovation involved replacing the mechanical and electrical wiring and ensuring that all necessary safety standards in the two cars, the control systems and stations, were met.
The CEGB took over project management, imposed light penalties in order not to cripple Fairey and International Combustion, and appointed British Nuclear Design and Construction (BNDC) as main contractor. In 1971, problems with corrosion of mild steel components in the first generation Magnox reactors gave the designers cause for concern. The Dungeness B restraint couplings - mechanical linkages that held the graphite core in place whilst allowing it to expand and contract in response to temperature changes - were made of mild steel and could be subject to the same corrosion. It was decided to replace them with components made from a new material.

During construction of phase 1 The WMC was designed by Jonathan Adams, of local practice Percy Thomas Architects (taken over by Capita Group in 2004Gates, C. PFI fells Welsh giant Building Design, Issue 1630, 18 June 2004, p.1), with Arup Acoustics providing the acoustic design and Arup as building engineer. His first concept drawings were made in early 1998, by 1999 his design was starting to look more like the building it is today. Construction began on 25 February 2002, the main contractor being Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd and Kelsey Roofing Industries Ltd being the roofing contractor.
Those talks collapsed in June 2017 when CPECC, the main contractor in the consortium, pulled out of the talks. In August 2017, a new consortium led by General Electric of the United States and Jk Minerals Africa of South Africa agreed to build the US$4 Billion refinery and to own 50 and 10 percent respectively, while the government of Uganda and other investors take up the remaining 40 percent. Other members in this new consortium are (i) Yaatra Ventures LLC, (ii) Intracontinent Asset Holdings and (iii) Saipem SpA of Italy. These firms were competitors during the initial bidding.
The Gateway Tower project plans have been in place since the opening of the Gateway Mall 1 in 2004, as part of the Araneta Center Master Plan, including additional shops to the Gateway Mall, BPO-IT Offices, and penthouse offices. However, the construction of the tower was delayed over master planning issues, and alleged overspending and construction issues hounding the Gateway Mall. Initially the construction of the Gateway Tower commenced on second half of 2010, with Design Coordinates, Inc. (DCI) Construction as the main contractor of the project, using Structural Steel Frames for the structure of the tower.
BREL's major production centres were at Crewe (Crewe Works), Derby (Derby Litchurch Lane Works and Derby Works), Doncaster (Doncaster Works), Glasgow (Glasgow (St Rollox) Works), Shildon (Shildon Works) and York (BREL York). The historic site at Wolverton in Milton Keynes was progressively run down until the 1980s before being relegated to maintenance duties. Not all British Rail rolling stock was built in-house: Metro Cammell, Brush Traction and Metropolitan-Vickers amongst others manufactured rolling stock, although in general it was built to BREL specifications. Latterly, BREL often acted as a subcontractor to a main contractor such as GEC, which supplied traction equipment.
Work on the line started in December, the main contractor being D Baldwin, and the line was ready for Board of Trade inspection in February 1862. The inspector was again Yolland, now apparently a Lieutenant-Colonel. He observed that there was now a turntable at Shepton Mallet, in the middle of the line, but none at either terminus, and the signalling system was inadequate: he declined to pass the line as ready. The Board of Trade seems to have overruled him on receiving undertakings that one engine at a time would be in use on the line.
Evolution Tower in Moscow International Business Center is built by the company Lakhta Center, the tallest building in Europe is built by the company Rönesans Holding operates in Turkey, Commonwealth of Independent States, Europe, Middle East and North Africa. It was founded in 1993 by Erman Ilıcak in St. Petersburg, Russia and has headquarters in Ankara. Its main activities are construction, real estate investment and energy generation. Rönesans Holding builds shopping malls, offices, hotels, residences, composite structures, heavy industry plants, infrastructure plants, light production plants, factories, government buildings and energy plants as main contractor and investor.
Holt and Leigh consulted Steers occasionally, paying him for advice on the basin in Wigan and Crooke Lock. The main contractor was Richard Fell, who was paid for all sorts of work, while other contractors were engaged for specific tasks. Holt died in 1740 and did not live to see the project completed, but an inspection was made by the commissioners on 12 June 1742, eleven years to the day since Leigh took over, The navigation was declared to be complete. An estimated £7,000 had been spent on this second phase of work, and another £1,000 on a fleet of boats.
Construction was supervised by Tokyo-based C. Itoh, while Thai Obayashi served as the main contractor. The name Dusit Thani was borrowed from King Rama VI's miniature city project which experimented with democracy during the 1920s. The Dusit Thani stood on the former location of Ban Saladaeng, the former residence of the Chaophraya Yommarat, on the southeast corner of Sala Daeng Intersection, the beginning of Si Lom Road. Thanphuying Chanut secured a lease from the Crown Property Bureau, which owns the land. The hotel opened on 27 February 1970, initially managed by Western International Hotels, becoming one of Bangkok's first five-star hotels.
To save money, rock was hand-hewn rather than blasted. Construction was overseen by the chief engineer, Sir James Szlumper, although he left day-to-day affairs in the hands of the main contractor employed. It was during construction that the ex-Plynlimon and Hafan Tramway locomotive Talybont, regauged from to and renamed Rheidol, arrived on the line, where it would remain for the rest of its life. In the Daily News of 9 August 1901 it was reported that the line was expected to be completed by March 1902 and the directors were hopeful for a free grant from the Treasury for the Aberayron Extension.
Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) was the main contractor for the development, having worked with Emaar in building the Dubai Mall. An earlier proposal to build a cultural centre on an island in the Dubai Creek designed by architect Zaha Hadid was announced in 2008 and shelved during the property crash in Dubai. This venue, located in The Lagoons, would have accommodated an opera house with a 2,500 seating capacity, an 800-seat playhouse, a 5,000-square-metre (54,000 sq ft) arts gallery, a performing arts school, and a '6-star' themed hotel. There is a free parking and paid parking for visitors of Dubai Opera.
However, in 2009, Siemens sold its one-third share of Areva NP to Areva, which is now the main contractor. Siemens remained on the project as the subcontractor with the main responsibility for constructing the turbine hall. Areva sold its majority stake in Framatome (previously Areva NP), its nuclear reactor and fuel business, to Électricité de France. According to TVO, the construction phase of the project would create a total of about 30,000 person-years of employment directly and indirectly; that the highest number of on-site employees has been almost 4,400; and that the operation phase would create 150 to 200 permanent jobs.
During upgrading of the Pan Borneo Highway, Lebuhraya Borneo Utara Sdn Bhd (LBU) wants to change the bridge from two-lane carriageway to four-lane carriageway on 2015. The phase 2 of the Durin Bridge will be built under the Pan Borneo Highway project and after its completion, it will turned into a four-lane carriageway bridge. Construction is led by LBU as a turnkey contractor and was taken by HSL DMIA JV Sdn Bhd as the main contractor. It is one of the part of Work Package Contract (WPC 08) which connects Bintangor Junction to Sungai Kua Bridge, including Durin Bridge, Julau Interchange and Sibu Airport Interchange.

In September 2000, Architect 1990 and Incorporated Builders were appointed as architect and main contractor respectively by the Board for a building expansion project at a cost of $1.5 million. With the introduction of MOH's Framework for Integrated Health Services for the elderly on 12 May 2000, the role of St Luke's Hospital was expanded and upgraded to take in more ill patients from acute hospitals. In this framework, St Luke's Hospital was classified as an approved provider of community hospital services. The framework grouped elderly care services into 3 zones, linking up the acute hospitals with the community hospitals in the respective zones.
Willmott Dixon was the main contractor undertaking the new building and refurbishment of the school. Their appointed architect was Jestico + Whiles who won the RIBA May 2011 award for their work on the school. The completed works on the school include a new entrance building containing 13 new classrooms clad in cor-ten steel, a new dining hall, improvements to the circulation (with more connecting corridors on second and third floors), replacements of the old temporary classrooms, new roofing throughout, new furniture and IT equipment. New disabled access features were also installed to allow as much accessibility as possible to the older buildings, including new ramps and lifts.
Network Rail agreed to build the line by mid-2015 for £294 million, an increase on the estimated £230 million that the line was expected to cost and the £100 million that it was originally costed at in 2000. This figure is also substantially more than the £189 million which Network Rail Chief Executive Iain Coucher agreed to build the line in late 2007 or early 2008. In December 2012, Network Rail appointed BAM Nuttall as its main contractor. The Network Rail team which worked on the line was essentially the same as the one which delivered the Airdrie-Bathgate Rail Link in 2009.
Proposed initially in the 2001 Cambridge-Huntingdon Multi-Modal Study, which recommended widening of the A14 road and construction of a guided busway along the old railway lines, construction began in March 2007 and it was opened on 7 August 2011 after a succession of delays and cost overruns. The original cost estimate of £116 million rose to £181 million by December 2010. An independent review of the project was announced on 21 September 2010, in which the Cambridge MP Julian Huppert at the time described the busway as a "white elephant". A court case with BAM Nuttall, the main contractor, was settled by Cambridgeshire County Council in August 2013.
The Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC; ) is a supertall skyscraper located in the Pudong district of Shanghai. It was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by the Mori Building Company, with Leslie E. Robertson Associates as its structural engineer and China State Construction Engineering Corp and Shanghai Construction (Group) General Co. as its main contractor. It is a mixed-use skyscraper, consisting of offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, and ground-floor shopping malls. Park Hyatt Shanghai is the tower's hotel component, comprising 174 rooms and suites occupying the 79th to the 93rd floors, which at the time of completion was the highest hotel in the world.
Landmines planted by UNITA prevented the MAC truck from reaching the area, so Christian Rudolph G. Hellinger (CRGH), then President of RST International, created Transafrik International. CRGH is a German national born in Leipzig, East Germany. It is a cargo airline, with airplane registration in the Republic of São Tomé e Príncipe, is currently working on contracts for the United Nations and has previously been on contract for the WFP (World Food Program) during the civil war in Angola for relief support. In 2006 Transafrik International was approached by the UN, which is its main contractor in Africa, to re-register the fleet to another nation for aviation safety reasons.
Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd is a construction company located near Stowe, between Buckingham and Silverstone in north Buckinghamshire which operates throughout England and Wales. Established originally in 1955 as Buckingham Plant Hire, it incorporated in November 1987 as Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd. The company is now established as a Main Contractor undertaking major construction and civil engineering projects, run by managing director Paul Wheeler. The company has built several sports related buildings in recent years including the £30m London 2012 Olympic handball arena (now known as the Copper Box), a £30m pit lane development for the Silverstone Circuit, and the £93m Falmer Stadium for Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
Ground level view As the task of building such a structure was considered extremely risky, the K. Rudzki i S-ka Company was chosen as the main contractor, fabricator and builder. The company with its seat in Warsaw and a large factory in Mińsk Mazowiecki was among the most experienced bridge building companies in Central and Eastern Europe at the time. Established in 1853, in late 19th and early 20th century the company was the only firm in the entire Russian Empire to construct difficult bridges in remote locations. Almost 20% of all bridges constructed in Russia in that period were built by Konstanty Rudzki and his engineers.
A Long March 2D launching VRSS-1 on 29 September 2012 The satellite was built after a contract between Venezuela and China was signed in Caracas on 26 May 2011, and follows from their previous collaboration on VENESAT-1. The contract, worth $144.8 million USD, included $67.8 million for the satellite, $22m for the launch, $16m for the ground station in Venezuela and $22m for software. The main contractor is China Great Wall Industry Corporation and the satellite is based on the CAST 2000 bus developed by the China Academy of Space Technology. One source posits that VRSS-1 is based upon the Chinese Yaogan-2 reconnaissance satellite.
Following parliamentary approval in 2007, construction began in early 2008. The first stage of the project was expected to be completed by July 2011 but, following delays caused by extra utility work and a long- running contractual dispute between the council and the main contractor, Bilfinger SE, the project was rescheduled. The cost of the project rose from the original projection of £545 million to £750 million in mid-2011 and some suggest it could eventually exceed £1 billion. The completed line is in length, running from Edinburgh Airport, west of the city, to its current terminus at York Place in the city centre's East End.
Douglas was a pioneer in related fields, such as ejection seats, air-to-air missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and air-to-surface missiles, launch rockets, bombs, and bomb racks. The company was ready to enter the new missile business during the 1950s. Douglas moved from producing air-to-air rockets and missiles to entire missile systems under the 1956 Nike missile program and became the main contractor for the Skybolt air-launched ballistic missile program and the Thor ballistic missile program. Douglas also earned contracts from NASA, most notably for designing the S-IVB stage of the Saturn IB and Saturn V rockets.
Throughout 2017 several designs from different companies were suggested as contenders for the Type 31. BAE submitted two designs, "Avenger", essentially an improved Batch 3 River-class OPV, and "Cutlass", a significantly stretched and enhanced derivation of the Al Shamikh-class corvette.BMT submitted a design called "Venator 110", with Steller Systems putting forward project "Spartan" and Babcock offered a design named "Arrowhead 120". In October 2017, BAE Systems announced its intention to withdraw from the Type 31e competition as a main contractor, citing the capacity constraints of its shipyards on the Clyde, which are full with the work on the new s and Type 26 frigates.
Following a devastating fire in the Glasgow School of Art's Mackintosh Building on 15 June 2018, the school terminated its £25 million restoration contract with Kier on 29 June 2018. Kier was the main contractor in the failed DG One leisure centre in Dumfries. In October 2018, Kier was named as a 'poor payer' at a Parliamentary inquiry into small businesses, failing to pay 48% of invoices due within their agreed terms, leading some suppliers to refuse to work for the company. In November 2019, Kier and subsidiary McNicholas Construction Services were suspended from the Prompt Payment Code for failing to pay 95% of all supplier invoices within 60 days.
The roof of the mansion is meant for walking on, and there is a circular view, above the tree-line, of parts of Buckinghamshire and Berkshire including Windsor Castle to the south. Below the balustraded roofline is a Latin inscription which continues around the four sides of the house and recalls its history; it was composed by the then prime minister William Ewart Gladstone. On the west front it reads: POSITA INGENIO OPERA CONSILIO CAROLI BARRY ARCHIT A MDCCCLI, which translated reads: "The work accomplished by the brilliant plan of architect Charles Barry in 1851." The main contractor for the work was Lucas Brothers.
A GLONASS-K satellite, produced by Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems In the early 2000s, during Vladimir Putin's presidency, the Russian economy started recovering, growing more each year than in all of the previous decade. The funding outlook for Russia's space program started to look more favourable. In 2001, the development of the GLONASS satellite navigation system was made a government priority with the introduction of a new Federal Targeted Program. The main contractor for GLONASS, NPO PM (later renamed ISS Reshetnev), thus received a boost in its finances. In total, 4.8 billion rubles was allocated for the space program in 2001, of which 1.6 billion was earmarked for GLONASS.
He appears to have had some sort of indirect connection with Turst, perhaps through his older brother Samuel, who was to be the main contractor for the project. The artists and craftsmen involved included the plasterer Joseph Rose, the sculptor Joseph Nollekens, who was paid £160 for four statues of Britannia, Liberty, the King and the Queen, and John Stretzle, who built the organ for £300. In August 1769, Turst purchased a leasehold house on the west side of Poland Street which backed on to the site of the Pantheon and built a secondary entrance there. This unbudgeted cost added more fuel to the legal fire.
One Kensington Gardens, 2016 One Kensington Gardens is a residential development of 97 apartments in a nine-storey (two of them underground) block in Kensington, London, completed in 2015, overlooking Kensington Gardens, and bounded by Victoria Road and De Vere Gardens. It was designed by David Chipperfield Architects, and the main contractor was Sir Robert McAlpine. It was built on the site of the 1950s-built Palace and Thistle hotels at the northern end, and the De Vere Gardens mansion block at the southern end. The site was bought by the Candy brothers for £69 million, and sold 18 months later in 2008 to an Abu Dhabi consortium for £320 million.
The King Street Bridge was designed in 1959 by Hardcastle and Richards, consulting engineers for the main contractor, Utah Australia for the Country Roads Board, and constructed over the next two years, (accessed via FoI by Channel 7 news) being opened on 12 April 1961.Transport Benefits from New Bridge Truck & Bus Transportation May 1961 page 103 It is of a welded, steel girder concrete deck cantilever- suspended span construction with suspended spans up to approximately long. The King Street Bridge carries King Street over the Yarra River. The bridge continues south as an elevated viaduct, with the Crown Casino built around it in later years.
Entrance front of Hopetoun House, designed by William Adam and modified by the Adam Brothers On William Adam's death, John Adam inherited both the family business and the position of Master Mason to the Board of Ordnance. He immediately took Robert into partnership, later to be joined by James Adam. The Adam Brothers' first major commission was the decoration of the grand state apartments on the first floor at Hopetoun House, followed by their first "new build" at Dumfries House. For the Board of Ordnance, the brothers were the main contractor at Fort George, a large modern fort near Inverness designed by military engineer Colonel Skinner.
Between the 1990s and the 2000s, traffic congestion was prevalent at the Sultan Ismail Bridge and Muar town centre since the official opening of the North–South Expressway Southern Route between Ayer Keroh and Pagoh and the opening of the Tangkak and Pagoh Interchange on 1 April 1989. To this end, in 1998, the federal government announced that the new second bridge would be built at Parit Bunga to ease congestion on the existing bridge. In addition, a new bypass linking Parit Bunga to Parit Sakai would be built. The Public Works Department of Malaysia (JKR) and the main contractor Ranhill Bersekutu Sdn Bhd Co began construction of the bypass in 2002.
Alfa Pendular in Lisbon In Portugal the Pendolino is named Alfa Pendular and is operated by the Portuguese state railway company CP. It connects the cities of Guimarães, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Santarém, Lisbon, Albufeira and Faro, among others, and has a top speed of 220 km/h (136.7 mph). The bogies had to be redesigned for operation on Portugal's broad gauge track, and the trains were assembled by Adtranz Portugal at the Amadora plant (former Sorefame). Main contractor was Fiat Ferroviaria later acquired by Alstom with two main subcontractors Adtranz and Siemens that was responsible for the traction and train control. Ten six-car train sets were produced between 1998 and 2001, with commercial operation from early 1999.
The European Sleep Apnea Database (ESADA) (also referred to with spelling European Sleep Apnoea Database and European Sleep Apnoea Cohort) is a collaboration between European sleep centres as part of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action B 26. The main contractor of the project is the Sahlgrenska Academy at Gothenburg University, Institute of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, and the co-ordinator is Jan Hedner, MD, PhD, Professor of Sleep Medicine.Hedner 2011, pp. 635–642. The book Clinical Genomics: Practical Applications for Adult Patient Care said ESADA was an example initiatives which afford an "excellent opportunity" for future collaborative research into genetic aspects of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
The cost of the project by the time it was completed in 1810 was £115,000, and it gave protection to some of land. The resident engineer for the project was William Settle, and Thomas Dyson was the main contractor for the outfall sluice and the tunnel under Beverley Beck. At the northern end of the Hull valley, various channels were made deeper, and the Barmston cut carried water to the sea at Barmston. A barrier was constructed at Foston on the Wolds to prevent water from north Holderness which had previous drained westwards to the Hull from doing so, and this part of the project was known as Sea End, and became a separate drainage region.
In 1988 a join venture between Saipem and Brown & Root was formed, known as European Marine Contractors, that realized two major projects: Zeepipe, completed in 1993, a 1,416km natural gas transportation system to transport North Sea natural gas to the receiving terminal at Zeebrugge in Belgium; and a 707km trunkline connecting Hong Kong with Yancheng 13-1 gasfield, located in the Yinggehai Basin, completed in 1994. In 1991 Saipem started operating Saipem 7000, the world's second biggest crane vessel. In 1996 the Maghreb–Europe Gas Pipeline linked Algerian gasfields to Spain. In 1995-1999 Saipem was the main contractor for the construction of Europipe I and Europipe II natural gas pipelines, connecting Norway to Germany.
In New Zealand all retention monies are required to be held in trust and must be in cash or other liquid assets; this requirement was introduced following the 2013 collapse of main contractor Mainzeal. However, after the 2019 collapse of Stanley Group it was discovered that retention money was not properly administered, residing in the company's main account, despite the group claiming to sub-contractors that it had been held in separate accounts, and was therefore liable to loss during the liquidation process. The retention system is not used in Germany where the works remain the property of the contractor until completion and are, therefore, liable to be withheld from the client in cases of dispute.
The 1845 bridge, during removal The 1905 bridge, newly installed The current single track rail bridge on the electrified railway line in to Norwich was designed by the British Rail' Eastern Region based in York. The main contractor was May Gurney of Norwich and they were also the civil works contractor. The Butterley Engineering Company were the fabricators, mechanical contractor and electrical contractor. The bridge was fabricated and fully trial erected, including a slewing motion trial, inside the Butterley Engineering Company's workshops known as "The Bridge Yard" at Butterley Hill, Ripley in Derbyshire during 1986 and was delivered to site and installed during the winter months of November 1986 to January 1987.
The Central Tramway Company made use of the electricity power system constructed by the main contractor, Edmundson Electrical Corporation, which operated from the main power station on Seamer Road. The new electric winding gear ran off the 500v Direct current power of the road tram system from 1920 until the road trams eventually closed in 1931. Between 1931 and 1932 Hudswell Clarke and Company of Leeds converted the system to AC power with the installation of a new 60 horse power motor underneath the top station, during this time they also relaid the track, and rebuilt the carriage frames with new wooden carriages being supplied by Plaxtons. Further changes occurred during the second half of the 20th century.
In 1970, Sheffield Town Planning Committee called for the Globe Works to be removed from the register of listed buildings so it could be bulldozed to make way for an urban motorway, however the request was rejected. Star Newspaper. Gives details of Velocity regeneration etc The Works became derelict in the 1970s when it was extensively damaged by an arson attack in 1978. In 1987 restoration work costing £1.5 million was started by the Leadmill Association arts charity and backed by the Allen Tod group of architects alongside Henry Boot as the main contractor with funding coming from Sheffield City Council, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), English Tourist Board, English Heritage and the Arts Council.
It was advertised in the Official Journal of the European Community, and in December 2000 Skanska Ltd was selected as the main contractor. Edwina Hart AM, the Minister for Finance, Local Government and Communities, approved the final project design on 18 January 2001 and by 1 March 2001, the groundbreaking ceremony took place to mark the beginning of construction. Six months after construction had begun and with only the piling and a temporary road around the site having been completed, Hart announced on 17 July 2001 that the National Assembly had terminated the contract of RRP. She said that despite the termination of the contract, the debating chamber should still be built to RRP's design.
Rydon logo Rydon is a British construction company which was founded in 1978 and employs over 750 people. Its head office is in Forest Row, East Sussex. Rydon was the main contractor responsible for the 2015–2016 refurbishment of the Chalcots Estate, in the London Borough of Camden, and Grenfell Tower (destroyed by fire in June 2017), in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, although it sub-contracted the "design and installation of the external cladding" to Harley Facades. The contractor originally scheduled to undertake the Grenfell renovation was rejected because its quotation of £11.28 million exceeded the £10 million budget set by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Kensington and Chelsea TMO (KCTMO).
The Miura 5 will use a TEPREL-C turbopump engine, unlike previous versions which use a pressurized tank cycle. Its reuse capabilities are planned to allow it to be launched 3 times. A lift capacity of 150 kilograms was originally envisioned, but in 2018 lift capacity was doubled after a 10-month European Space Agency review that concluded launching up to 300 kilograms to a 500-kilometer orbit should be pursued. In October 2016, the ESA chose PLD Space as the main contractor of the LPSR ("Liquid Propulsion Stage Recovery") programa, part of the agency's Future Launchers Preparatory Programme (FLPP), for the development of a reusable first stage with a budget of 750,000 euros.
In August 2013, Screen 1 was closed for a total refurbishment, to form a 723-seat IMAX auditorium and a 401-seat IMPACT auditorium (renamed Superscreen following the Cineworld acquisition.) The final screening, Big Bad Wolves, occurred on 26 August 2013 to close out FrightFest 2013, and building work commenced immediately afterwards. The architect for the conversion was UNICK Architects, with Maeve Contractors as the main contractor. The project involved the permanent removal of almost all existing decorative finishes and fittings, the demolition of all false ceilings, and some internal walls. A large acoustic wall was constructed, weighing 50 tonnes and hung from the 1920s roof structure, for isolation between the two auditoria.
In the early 20th century 'Building 1000' was built on the north bank of the dock at a cost of £70 million and was completed in 2004. In May 2013, the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, announced a development of the Royal Albert Dock which would be worth £6 billion to the capital’s economy and would create over 20,000 jobs. With CITIC Construction assigned as main contractor, and Multiplex assigned as principal sub-contractor, construction officially began on June 2017. Phase 1 of the project was completed in the first quarter of 2018, consisting of 21 buildings with 460,000 sq ft of office space and 140,000 sq ft of retail and public realm.
The ultra-modern US$640 million, facility was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) to have a capacity of 13 million passengers per year. However, a legal dispute between the government of the Philippines and the project's main contractor, Philippine International Air Terminals Co. Inc. (Piatco), over the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract, delayed the final completion and opening of the terminal. While the original agreement was one in which PairCargo and Fraport AG would operate the airport for several years after its construction, followed by a handing over of the terminal to the Philippine government, the government offered to buy out Fraport AG for $400 million, to which Fraport agreed.
Dam construction in 2014 In 2012, the International Panel of Experts was formed with experts from Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and other independent entities to discuss mainly engineering and partially impact related questions. This panel concluded at a number of engineering modifications, that were proposed to Ethiopia and the main contractor constructing the dam. One of the two main engineering questions, dealing with the size of flood events and the constructive response against them, was later addressed by the contractor. The emergency spillway located near the rock saddle dam saw an increase of the rim length from 300 m to 1,200 m to account even for the largest possible flood of the river.
Pre-construction activities began in December 2012, with the start of the relocation of utility pipes. Major heavy construction was scheduled to begin in 2013, but was delayed by lawsuits, among other factors. The main contractor was finally issued a "Notice to Proceed" in early July 2014; the official groundbreaking for heavy construction on the project was held on September 30, 2014. Most sections of the Regional Connector tunnel will be built using the tunnel boring machine (TBM) construction method, though some sections (especially the locations of the three future subway rail stations) will be built using the cut-and-cover construction method with an emphasis on maintaining as much road access as possible during construction.
However, due to effective risk transfer to the contractor, the total cost to the taxpayer would be very similar to the original plan. A follow-up investigation into the hospitals projects by the Public Accounts Committee was postponed in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The Lincoln eastern bypass project, originally awarded by Lincolnshire County Council to Carillion, was taken over by Galliford Try, adding £24m in costs and delaying the project's completion by six months to May 2020. The redevelopment of the Vaux Breweries site in Sunderland resumed, after a six- month delay following Carillion's collapse, in July 2018, with Tolent as the main contractor.
In late 1982, Vint Cerf, one of the original designers of the MCI email service, was one of the main contractor served from 1982 to 1986 as MCI's Vice President of Digital Information Services. During his time in office, he acted as one of the driving forces behind the creation of the MCI Mail service. Cerf worked on the data networking related hardware and software applications of the MCI Mail. After an eight-year separation from the corporation to work with his Internet partner, Robert E. Kahn at the Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI), Cerf returned to MCI in 1994, where he served as Senior Vice President of Technology Strategy until 2005 when MCI was sold to Verizon.
He eventually convinced Groves of Rotblat's integrity to the cause, and this led to Rotblat being accepted to the Manhattan Project without renouncing his nationality. Rotblat had been left in charge of the Tube Alloys research, and brought with him the results obtained since Chadwick had left. The Montreal team in Canada depended on the Americans for heavy water from the US heavy water plant in Trail, British Columbia, which was under American contract, and for technical information about plutonium. The Americans said they would supply heavy water to the Montreal group only if it agreed to direct its research along the limited lines suggested by DuPont, its main contractor for reactor construction.
The Royal Liverpool University Hospital (RLUH) is a major teaching and research hospital located in the city of Liverpool, England. It is the largest and busiest hospital in Merseyside and Cheshire, and has the largest emergency department of its kind in the UK. A major redevelopment of the hospital began in 2013 and was scheduled for completion in 2017, but construction problems and the 2018 collapse of main contractor Carillion have pushed the estimated completion date back to 2022. Alongside Broadgreen Hospital and Liverpool University Dental Hospital, the hospital is managed by the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is associated with the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
The Mercian (also known as 212 Broad Street by its address and formerly known as 2one2 Broad Street and Broad Street Tower) is an under construction 132 metre (433 ft) residential skyscraper on Broad Street, Birmingham, England. It is designed by Glenn Howells Architects, the developer is Moda Living and the main contractor is John Sisk & Son. The skyscraper will be forty-two storeys in height, consisting of a thirty-nine storey residential building (30 studios, 163 one bed, 260 two bed and 28 three bedroom apartments) which will sit on a three storey podium with over 30,000 sq ft of communcal amenity space. The build is valued at £183m and is due for completion in June 2022.
Fiat "Littorina" at Tripoli (Libya) railway Station in 1950 Shunning the bigger companies like Fiat and Breda, FS ordered three prototypes of the new units to an experienced but smaller producer of parts and components based in Milan, Officine Meccaniche di Milano (OM). The contract was quite challenging for OM, who until then had never managed to build a new line of rolling stock as the main contractor; that was the well-guarded fief of the two giants of the Italian heavy industry. The prototypes, built around the Fiat ALn 72 chassis, were delivered in 1937 and designated with the non- standard codes ALn 72 3001-3003. After the initial tests showed results far above expectations, FS awarded OM a contract for about 200 units.
The Dams Implementation Unit (DIU), a public body that reports to the presidency, was established in 2005, primarily to oversee construction of the dam. The China International Water and Electric Company was the main contractor for construction of the dam, and Harbin Power agreed to build seven substations and approximately 1,610 kilometers of transmission lines. Two consortia of Chinese, Greek, and Italian firms bid for the contract to build three packages of the civil works portion of the dam, which was estimated to cost US$1.9 billion. Several Arab funds (including the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, and the Saudi Fund for Development) agreed to provide US$600 million in concessional funding.
Kelk started his career, after a commercial education, as an apprentice of builder Thomas Cubitt, with whom he later had fierce competition, and then went into partnership with William Newton. Upon Newton's retirement, he amalgamated the business with another Mayfair builder, John Elger, and then worked on rebuilding houses in Grosvenor Square, and churches St. Michael's Church, Chester Square, and All Saints, Margaret Street. He also built Kneller Hall in Twickenham, the Museum of Practical Geology in Jermyn Street, designed by James Pennethorne, from 1849 to 1851, and in 1854 was involved in the reconstruction of the Carlton Club in Pall Mall. His firm was the main contractor for the Albert Memorial, a task which saw him "striking terror into at least one of the sculptors".

The Chief Designer of Fobos-Grunt was Maksim Martynov.Biography of Maksim Martynov Phobos soil sampling and downloading were developed by the GEOHI RAN Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Vernadski Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical chemistry) and the integrated scientific studies of Phobos and Mars by remote and contact methods were the responsibility of the Russian Space Research Institute, where Alexander Zakharov served as lead scientist of the mission The Chinese Yinghuo-1 orbiter was launched together with Fobos-Grunt. In late 2012, after a 10–11.5-month cruise, Yinghuo-1 would have separated and entered an 800×80,000 km equatorial orbit (5° inclination) with a period of three days.
The original Harley company remains in liquidation (as of October 2019) pending the outcome of negotiations with HMRC concerning a £1.6m claim surrounding allegations of the use of tax avoidance schemes. Although Rydon was the main contractor responsible for the 2015-2016 refurbishment of the Chalcots Estate and Grenfell Tower (destroyed by fire in June 2017), it sub-contracted the "design and installation of the external cladding" to Harley Curtain Wall (later Harley Facades). In response to a request filed on behalf of several invidividuals and companies linked to the Grenfell Tower refurbishment (including both Rydon and Harley Facades), the Attorney General for England and Wales, Suella Braverman, confirmed that witnesses would be immune from prosecution based on their statements to the enquiry.
The contract for the construction of the reservoir was let in April, and the substantial wrought iron truss bridge over the Tweed was completed on 20 August 1897. A ceremony for the official opening of the line and stone-laying for the reservoir took place on 29 September 1897, when a special train again ran from Edinburgh, this time to Victoria Lodge, a management building constructed by the Water Trust at the north end of the planned reservoir. The train was named "The Tweedsmuir Express" and consisted of six six-wheel coaches, modern bogie stock being unable to negotiate the line because of curvature and clearance issues. The main contractor, James Young and Sons, began to get into financial difficulty as the work progressed.
In the course of 2003, the city of Almaty issued a series of 15 promissory notes with a par value of a million US dollars each. Their collateral consisted of stock in a skeleton enterprise, apparently without any benchmark share price but at the same time the nominal holder of the construction contract for the new terminal of the Almaty international airport. The enterprise's name was Delamore Trade and Investment, a subsidiary of Delamore Group, which in turn controlled Imstalkom—the main contractor for the terminal. After the terminal was opened by the end of 2004 after two years of delays, its construction bill turned out to amount of the equivalent of 52 million US dollars rather than the $21 million in the budget.
A c2c Electrostar train on the LTSR During the early 1990s proposals were put forward to convert the whole route into a guided busway, however these plans were quickly dismissed when British Rail announced a complete re-signalling of the line. Over the years the line had been used in an almost experimental fashion and contained a host of different signalling systems, such as geographical, WESTPAC and relay interlockings. In 1995 work began to replace everything from signals and point machines to whole junctions. The main contractor for the work was GEC Alsthom which provided a Mark 3 Solid State Interlocking (SSI) system, with SEMA providing the IECC element at Upminster that replaced all signal boxes on the whole line.
Ongoing construction of Terminal 2 at Warsaw Chopin in 2005. It was only in 1990, after the fall of communism, that a new terminal started to be built at Okęcie. The main contractor was the German company Hochtief, and the work involved some 164 subcontractors, of which 121 were Polish companies. After 24 months, the new terminal was completed at the expense of some 300 million German marks. A network of multi-storey car parks and access roads was also built, and with their completion, Warsaw gained a modern terminal with a capacity of 3.5 million passengers a year. The terminal began to operate on 1 July 1992, with the first travellers to use it being those returning from Athens, Bangkok, Dubai and New York.
PIP was introduced by the Welfare Reform Act 2012 and the Social Security (Personal Independence Payment) Regulations 2013 (which have been repeatedly amended). It began to replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for new claims from 8 April 2013, by means of an initial pilot in selected areas of north-west and north-east England. A full roll-out across Great Britain was planned for October 2013. However, this roll-out was delayed – primarily because the main contractor, Atos, wanted to ensure that the process was as reliable as possible; also, the assessments took much longer than expected, and assessors were hard to recruit - and as a result ministers announced that the roll-out would happen more gradually than originally planned.
There was to be a short tunnel at Holloway, on the edge of Malmesbury, and there was some uncertainty about the construction; in fact the contractor started work on the basis of an open cutting, but soon reverted to tunnelling. Exceptionally bad weather delayed the construction process and damaged part of the completed works. In addition, tension between the main contractor Budd & Holt and the Company's engineer Ward led to delays and an arbitration award, and the construction was heading for an overspend. On 6 July 1876 the GWR, as the financier of last resort, agree to provide £19,000 for the completion of the line; their own engineer Lancaster Owen was to be installed as Joint Engineer with Ward, although the former was prime.

The mission will study three of Jupiter's Galilean moons: Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa (excluding the more volcanically active Io) all of which are thought to have significant bodies of liquid water beneath their surfaces, making them potentially habitable environments. The spacecraft is set for launch in June 2022 and will reach Jupiter in October 2029 after five gravity assists and 88 months of travel. By September 2032, the spacecraft will enter orbit around Ganymede for its close up science mission, becoming the first spacecraft to orbit a moon other than the moon of Earth.
The building was designed by Talbot Hobbs, the well known architect who had also completed the Weld Club building and the Windsor Hotel in Perth and Victoria Hall in Fremantle. It was built at a cost of £30,000, which was the largest contract price paid for a private building in the state at the time. The main contractor for building was W.H. Vincent. The building was formally opened on 29 August 1902 in front of a large crowd of dignitaries including Hector Rason, Henry Briggs, James George Lee Steere and Edward Wittenoom. The Fremantle Harbour Trust occupied offices within the building in 1903 until their building was completed later the same year. Anchor Foods also had offices in the building in 1915 following a fire.
The club approached Jordal Amfi in Oslo, at the time an outdoor arena which had the only artificial ice in Norway, as well as a series of Swedish artificial rinks. Sparta's board considered various proposals in October 1960 and the project was given the go ahead by the annual meeting at the end of the year, with the goal of building an indoor, artificial rink. Designs were made in a lot next to Sparta's football field was bought. The contractor bids were revealed on 1 April 1961 and Betong-Anlegg was chosen as the main contractor. Construction commenced on 13 June 1962, costing NOK 2.6 million. The official opening took place on 18 October 1963, making Sparta Amfi the first indoor ice rink in Norway.
The Kowloon Park Swimming Pool was built as part of a greater redevelopment and expansion of Kowloon Park that was completed in 1989 under the sponsorship of the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club. The swimming complex-cum-indoor games hall was designed by a joint venture between United Kingdom-based Derek Walker Associates and Hong Kong firm Simon Kwan and Associates. It was engineered by BuroHappold, and the main contractor was Shui On. It opened on 12 September 1989 and was originally managed by the Urban Council. The HK$6 million bilingual scoreboard, the "most sophisticated of its kind in Hongkong", was custom-built for Kowloon Park Swimming Pool by Omega SA. An integrated timing system allowed the scoreboard to display individual times for each of the competition pool's eight lanes.
The preliminary feasibility studies were carried out by Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES). Construction work on Sittwe port and the boat jetty in Paletwa, as well as the dredging work, will be executed by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), with Essar Projects Ltd, a division of the Essar Group appointed in May 2010 as the main contractor. Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project initially faced problems such as underestimation of the road length in Myanmar and plans to construct hydro-electric projects — Chhimtuipui River and Lungleng River — on two tributaries of the Kaladan River followed by another project downstream. That the first two projects are being built by one public sector undertaking and the third is being constructed by another PSU (Public Sector Unit) has also led to coordination issues.
BW, supported by the Ministry of Transport, thought that it would be "a complete waste of money" to do other than demolish the aqueduct and formally close the lower Peak Forest and Ashton Canals. However, it was saved by the intervention of Geoffrey Rippon, the Minister of Public Buildings and Works, who facilitated an agreement whereby a sympathetic Cheshire County Council funded the extra cost of full restoration, over and above what it would have cost BW to demolish it, under the terms of the Local Authorities (Historic Buildings) Act 1962, which Rippon himself had steered through Parliament. The main contractor for the restoration was Harry Fairclough Ltd of Warrington, with Rendel, Palmer & Tritton as the consulting engineers. The aqueduct was scheduled as an ancient monument soon afterwards and was Grade I listed in 1966.
Timex Sinclair was a joint venture between the British company Sinclair Research and Timex Corporation in an effort to gain an entry into the rapidly growing early-1980s home computer market in North America. The choice of partnership was natural, as Timex was already the main contractor for manufacture of Sinclair's ZX81 and ZX Spectrum computers at its Scottish plant in Dundee. It was Timex of Portugal, though, that took on the R&D; and the local manufacturing of the models to be exported to the U.S. Although both Timex of Scotland and Timex of Portugal were full subsidiaries of Timex, internal rivalry, whether unintended or purported, meant there was little sharing between the two plants. Timex of Portugal also sold the Timex Sinclair models in Portugal and Poland under the Timex Computer brand.
The main contractor for the construction of the aerodrome was the Zetland County Council. In November 1944 Scatsta was used as a support base and diversion point for Lancasters from squadron 617, the famous "Dam Busters", led by Wing Commander J. B. Tait, on Operation Catechism, which bombed and sank the Tirpitz near Håkøy Island, Tromsø. After World War II Scatsta Aerodrome lay dormant except for the landing of a US Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules on 24 May 1969, in connection with the LORAN navigation station which had been established at the north west end of runway 13/31. It was abandoned after World War II, but reinstated as a civilian airport in 1978 to support the Shetland oil industry, and the Sullom Voe oil terminal in particular.
In a press release by the MINDEF on 28 September 2008, ST Aerospace had been awarded the contract to acquire twelve M-346 and a ground based training system on behalf of RSAF. As stipulated in the contract, ST Aerospace will act as the main contractor to maintain the aircraft after delivery by Alenia Aermacchi while Boeing would supply the training system. Delivery date is scheduled from 2012 onwards. The backbone of the transport fleet are the four KC-130B, one KC-130H and five C-130H Hercules transport aircraft, which are expected to remain in service through 2030, will be undergoing an extensive modernisation process to bring all ten existing airframes to the same common standard. The first airframe, a KC-130B, was returned to frontline service on 21 September 2010.
The programme was developed within the frame of collaboration decided in 1995 between the Defence Ministries of both countries, in which also was included the cession of use by a period of five years of 108 Leopard 2A4 from the German Army to the Spanish Army. However, this cession was extended up to 2016, and after that those tanks will be the sole property of the Spanish Army, as has been made public on 24 January 2006, then having been paid a total of 15,124,014 euros in ten yearly installments, giving the Spanish co- ownership from 2006. In 1998, the Spanish government agreed to contract 219 tanks of the Leopard 2E line, 16 recovery tanks Leopard 2ER (Bufalo) and 4 training vehicles. They chose Santa Bárbara Sistemas as the main contractor.
It was designed by the famous British engineer Sir William Willcocks who also concurrently designed and built the Aswan Low Dam, the first Nile reservoir, about up-stream. The Assiut dam was constructed between 1898 and 1903, and in conjunction with the reservoir, provided for the diversion of river water into Egypt's largest irrigation canal, the Ibrahimiya Canal, during the low water season. The dam was estimated to cost £525,000 but by the time of its completion it actually cost £870,000. The main contractor for the project was the British contractor John Aird & Co..Egypt bond The project's massive size involved 2,400,000 cubic yards of earthwork, 125,000 cubic yards of concrete, 85,000 cubic yards of masonry, 125,000 cubic yards of pitching and more than 4,000 tons of cast iron pipes.

The Lürssen Group, which would be the main contractor in the production of the vessels, distributed its work between the two sites at Wolgast and B+V Hamburg. The contract is worth around 2 billion euros. In April 2018 the German government announced the detailed worksharing arrangements under which the ships would be built. The German government also intends to build four new MKS 180 ships. Lürssen submitted a joint proposal with ThyssenKrupp, but in March 2018 it was turned down. Prior to this, ThyssenKrupp and Lürssen had been awarded a contract to build four s and delivered questionable built ships, that the German navy returned the ships to the builder in December 2017 for refit. There had been similar problems with the first set of K130 s delivered by the companies.
Aerial view of the ExCeL London, the site of the hospital, in 2015 On 21 and 22 March, military planners and NHS England staff visited ExCeL London – an exhibition and convention centre in the Custom House area of Newham, East London – to "determine if the armed forces could support the NHS response to the outbreak". Plans to create the hospital were announced in a press briefing by Health Secretary Matt Hancock on 24 March. The hospital would be run by NHS staff and volunteers, with 700 military personnel providing logistic assistance. The facility was planned and constructed in conjunction with the British Armed Forces and British architects BDP, with the mission being run from the Headquarters Standing Joint Command in Aldershot, which coordinates resilience missions for the UK. The main contractor was CFES.

In August 2012, drilling and blasting work began for constructing the Nam Fung Tunnel, between Admiralty and Ocean Park stations. The main contractor was Leighton Contractors with John Holland Group sharing part of the works. Before the construction of the town hall, the forerunner authority, Stretford Urban District Council, held its meetings in the District Council Offices on Talbot Road in Old Trafford (subsequently known as Trafford Public Hall and now known as the Trafford Hall Hotel). The building now known as Trafford Town Hall stands on a large previously undeveloped site at the junction of Talbot Road and Warwick Road in Stretford, England. It was designed by architects Bradshaw Gass & Hope of Bolton on behalf of Stretford Municipal Borough, and built by the main contractor Edwin Marshall & Sons. Work began on 21 August 1931, funded by a government grant of £88,000 (equivalent to £ in ); the building was officially opened as Stretford Town Hall on the granting of Stretford's charter on 16 September 1933.
The entrance to the BBC Hoddinott Hall from within the Wales Millennium Centre Phase 2 of the WMC was designed by the then newly qualified Tim Green and Keith Vince of Capita Architecture, formerly called Capita Percy Thomas and now part of Capita Symonds, with Arup Acoustics again providing the acoustic design. The main contractor was again Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, with MJN Colston Ltd responsible for the design and installation of all the mechanical, electrical and public health services in the building. Other subcontractors on the project included URS Corporation, Davis Langdon and Hulley & Kirkwood. Tim Green said of the building that the exterior of the building was designed to be in keeping with the existing Wales Millennium Centre, while the interior had a theme all its own.
Designed by architect Philip Cox and constructed in 1977 for the Pacific Conference Games, it also was the venue for the 4th IAAF World Cup in Athletics. The main contractor was Leighton Contractors. At the latter meet, the still-current world record for the women's 400m was recorded by East German Marita Koch, and a world record for the women's 4 × 100 m was set by East Germany and stood until the 2012 London Olympic Games. In the late 1980s the running track was removed and re-located to the warm up stadium at the AIS site. In the 1990 NSWRL season, the reigning NSWRL premiers the Canberra Raiders moved to Bruce Stadium from Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan, their home ground since entering the NSWRL in 1982. The Raiders won their second straight premiership in 1990.
Osborne Dam is an earth embankment dam, creating a reservoir with a surface area of 2600 hectares, storing 400,000 megalitres on the Odzi River, a tributary of the Save River, in Zimbabwe The catchment area is 1392 km² the embankment is 66 metres high, crest length 1007 metres and the volume of earth in the embankment is 5.1 Million cubic metres. The spillway is the "drop inlet" type with a crest radius of 15.7 metres, a 6-metre diameter shaft and conduit conveys the overflow to the flip bucket. The catchment area of 2 400 square kilometres stretches up to the source of the Odzi river in the high rainfall area just south of Juliasdale. The construction was financed with aid supplied by the Italian Government, the main contractor was Salini Costuttori SpA, with local subcontractors K.W.Blasting doing tunneling and hard excavation.

A large telescope model has been on display at various places since 2005: in the United States at Seattle, Washington; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Greenbelt, Maryland; Rochester, New York; Manhattan, New York City; and Orlando, Florida; and elsewhere at Paris, France; Dublin, Ireland; Montréal, Canada; Hatfield, United Kingdom; and Munich, Germany. PACE is in the process of constructing MahaNakhon, initially a leasehold development in a joint venture with Industrial Buildings Corporation (IBC), first unveiled in 2009. Designed by Grimshaw Architects and developed by Minerva plc with Skanska as main contractor, the Building is notable for the blue glass spandrels, pre- fabricated escape cores and a central atrium dominated by a steel structure on which a ThyssenKrupp "TWIN" lift system runs 16 lifts on eight tracks, a rare solution in the UK.
